Melovin poster theory

...Or I'm just imagined too much things in it 😂

Hihii every melovinator ^^

So today Melovin posted 3 new picture and it's kind an looks like a new album poster!

Is it me or there is other 3 missing pics? Thinking of the forehead and the hair part. Maybe he will post it tomorrow or after that.

So let's inspect what we got shall we? 😄

We can see that there is something on he's left side of he's face.

Maybe it's symbols that it's that he's Melovin persona 🤔🤔 I thought of Melovin because of the black eyes.

And the way it's got fixed by tapes.

And the other thing I noticed... He's black eye kind of look sad. Or tired. The way it's got wrinkles under it shows that maybe he is tired. Under it, in the chin area we can see the stubble more clearly. Correct me if I'm wrong 😅 the whole left side seems tired, sad and in that two part the skin is paler, unnatural a little.

The piercing.... WHY DID THEY NEEDED TO PHOTOSHOP THAT TOO? IT'S LOOKS FAKE NOW.

The last thing I noticed that in the picture (in mine it can't be seen clearly) he has he's shirt over he's shoulder but in the left side it's gone.

*nosebleed start as I look at that creamy dreamy chest and collarbone*

And as the song says and talk about :your role. Maybe in this poster he wanted to show that that's he's role. Who knows? In the future I hope he will talk about it ^^

MÉLOVIN - “Under the ladder” 17th place

My feelings on Mélovin haven’t changed at all since the preshow. I always found his presence in this year’s Eurovision to be one I liked, but very little more. Know that I’m fully aware of all the little Mélovers reading this post probably ready to cry outrage and ugh… Why do I have this inkling I’ll have to spend more time explaining why I didn’t rank Mélovin higher, as opposed to why I like him? 

Anyway: why does Mélovin rank as high as he does? He was pretty laffos, I thought. He greeted us with THIS:

and then proceeded to do THIS:

which is one of the best entrances to any Eurovision performance, period. Mélovin as a performer, is largely focused on form, rather than function, and he’s pretty good at it: His performances are rife with high octane drama and incomprehensible English, which all builds up to his mysterious persona. His impromptu interview with Filomena where he basically came out as an irl vampire was hilar because it CLEARLY wasn’t a part of the script they had rehearsed beforehand and she had to instantly break it off <3 Ultimately, I would say there are two reasons to like Mélovin: His Cult of Personality and the Spectacle Show he brings with him. 

I like both, 

you know there’s a “but” incoming ;)

but unfortunately for Mélovin, he kinda underwhelmed me with both. During Vidbir he had to contend for my affection with coochie-flashing cougresses,

Therefore, Mélovin was always the second-to-fourth best option, depending on how I feel about Kadnay and Vilna at the moment. In Eurovision proper it only became worse, which gave us many colourful personalities (Zibbz, Elina, Eleni, Vanja, Lea Sirk, Benjamin, Netta, Sennek, Rasmussen, Ieva, Saara, AWS, too many to sum up) and amongst those the aloof weirdo in Dracula drag didn’t quite stand out enough for me. 

Mélovin desperately seeks fame and tries to accomplish this by being many things at once: singer, songwriter, activist, fashion designer, goth, perfume distiller, Dracula Impersonator, chandler, accountant, stunt driver, mechanical winch operator, mixologist, warlock, make up artist (posting this pic again because it’s my fave pic of the preshow:

) which is inherently INTERESTING but also much to take in, like… In Eurovision, where everyone’s individual backstage time amounts to 2-8 minutes of collective footage*, it becomes a wash of traits I care little for. (*interviews not counted, since ESC interviews are boring 95% of the time. The remaining 5% is when DebanGoddess does them)

As for the spectacle side, the act had the Best Start Ever, but “Under the ladder” is not a particularly strong entry; the fact that Mélovin is largely incomprehensible is a huge net plus because the song itself one of the usual “belief in yourself” anthems that make up 57% of this contest’s canon and it’s the Mélovinese that makes it distinguishable. Either way, the song is average, meaning that an epic act is NEEDED to keep interest going. Moldova, Cyprus and Germany all nailed this very hard, outgrowing their mediocre songs. Ukraine, not so much. Mélovin’s act peaks at second forty-five and then kinda falls flat, despite the backing choir’s best efforts. The showstopper, the Flaming Piano, looked way better during Vidbir. 

What I’m trying to say is: What we saw was good, but there’s something missing for me. Some spark. Some insanity. Some consistency. For all his promised drama and mystery, Mélovin is weirdly unmemorable within this year, which is a problem considering that “making a huge splash” is what he’s all about. I don’t think Eurovision is made for the Mélovins of our world. Put them inside glass cages  or on reality shows (precumming at the thought of Mélovin on Project Runway <3), but they’re wasted on Eurovision where their brand of crazy is, ironically, too ridiculous to thrive. 

VIDBIR ADDENDUM I probably could’ve written this with fewer words, but I really wanted to pay tribute to the best national selection in this year. It really speaks for Mélovin’s inherent goodness that he won it, even if he weren’t my favourite at any point during the show. Him: *grabs you by wrist* I don't want you to go. And it's because you're the one that makes this bad mood go away or you're always a person he wants to sit in silence when he's down. How cute.

Kostya’s brows are turned down in a serious frown, his eyes fixed on the horizon as the boat glides steadily through the water. His right arm is hung lazily over the railing, a half-smoked cigarette resting between his fingers. He seem to be lost in his own world, the cigarette slowly burning away without him ever lifting it to his tightly pulled lips.

His fingers are tapping a fast rhythm on his bouncing knee, the restlessness in his body very evident. You carefully place your hand over his in an attempt to soothe him, but as soon as your skin touches his he promptly withdraws his hand, his head snapping around to face you.

“Don’t touch me!” he bite, his eyes filled with flames. Your breath catch in your throat as you withdraw your own hand, grasping it with your other and resting them against your chest. You don’t understand what is going on. Usually this gesture would have made him exhale deeply and maybe allow you to hold him in your arms, not snarl at you like you’d just insulted him gravely.

You just stare back into his piercing gaze, trying to soften your own to maybe calm him down a bit. For a split second you see it, the shift in his eyes that tells you that he sees you, hears you, that you have tuned into that connection that you share, that is your private little world where there’s only the two of you. But as soon as it’s there, as soon it’s gone again and Kostya has turned his eyes back to the ocean, his hand moved away from you.

“Kostya…” you try, your voice calm and filled with love. “Kostya, speak to me. What is wrong?” You see his eyes shift down, but quickly finding their way back to the ocean, the frown returned to his brow.

“Just go away,” he mutter, his voice flat.

“Kostya, I-“

“Just go away!” he bark as he throws the burned down cigarette into the waves with exaggerated force, the muscles in his jaw clenching.

You stop for a moment, taken aback at his sudden hostility. “Okay. I will let you be alone with the ocean for a bit,” you sigh, failing to hide the hurt in your voice, as you stand up to walk away.

You turn around to make your way to the other side of the boat when you feel a hand wrapping around your wrist. “Wait…” It’s almost inaudible the whisper escaping his lips. “I didn’t…”

You slowly sit back down besides Kostya, his face is turned down towards the deck, his black locks falling down over it and hiding his eyes. His grip on your wrist is tight but you don’t dare to move your arm, the situation feeling so fragile, like one wrong move might turn a spark into an ocean of flames.

He moves his other hand to cover his mouth, small drops of water hitting the deck below his face. You gently move your free hand to rest on his knee, letting your thumb run soothingly over the skin exposed through the rips in his jeans. You can feel his grip on your wrist ease, as he exhales deeply, his whole body seemingly starting to relax.

“It’s okay,” you whisper, giving his knee a small squeeze.

“No, it’s not,” he mutter into the palm of his hand, “but it will be.” He turns his face towards you, his eyes red and cheeks stained by the tears silently spilling over them. “As long as you are here.”

Melovin sexuality

Okey guys I had enough and I feel I have to say these words soooooooo here I come!

A lot of you say that Mel is gay or at lease bi. Firstly, he said he IS straight so why question about it frequently? Yes I know that in Ukraine gay/lesbian people are not that welcomed (as well in my country, Hungary) but he knows! Who are we, fans, to question he's statement? We could ask him if we know PERSONALLY him but we don't sadly.

Secondly, I hear he does a lot of things that are considered as 'what gay people doing'. IT'S STEREOTYPICAL AND IT'S A BAD THING!!! He loves to dance? What's the problem with that? If he would go to ballet class then I would say there is something. He loves to paint on he's face and body? He is a VERY artistic boy and he's idol, Lady Gaga do it frequently. What's the deal? And never forget that he is a performer who is used to do it, being learned at an teathre school. I think going on a stage he still act a little because that's what he learned about 4-5 years!

Oh and the last thing I heard very often... He is gay because he loves Lady Gaga........... THIS IS THE WORST WHAT I HEARD. Many many maaaaany men love that Singer, even my dad listen her sometimes! And he is gay? No. Just know who has great voice and performance. Not to mention that Lady Gaga is a great woman. No, I'm not lesbian, I'm just saying the truth. She have amazing g, crazy ideas, fashion sense and she can even act!

So PLEASE I know it's a world where we want everyone to be gay/lesbian (sadly) but if we doesn't know a person we can't decide for him! Not to mention he is a busy man, building he's carrier, doing what he loves and I can totally imagine that he hasn't got time for a girlfriend. He is just that responsible person. He knows he wouldn't have enough time for her so he doesn't start a relationship with anyone. It would just hurt him and that special girl too.
