Kept having thoughts about my AU, and something got me thinking-
So I decided to take another aspect from IDW for my AU, that being Rung, resident therapist everyone seems to forget. And also his whole shtick of being Primus in mortal form. But that's another problem I'm not gonna delve too deep in.
Since things in Aligned are not the same as in IDW (as far as I'm concerned, the only deities the majority reveres in Aligned is Primus and the Thirteen, no Guiding Hands, no Spectralism and whatnot), I gotta change things up.
So I decided to do a little something with Rung.
Y'know how Unicron had his little avatar in the show? The one he uses to talk to Optimus?
Tumblr media
This thing?
Yeah, what if Rung is what this is to Primus?
When he commanded to Optimus for his forces to go off planet so he could heal from his Dark Energon infection (thanks, Megatron), he could feel himself slipping into a coma, of sorts. As a last resort, maybe wanting himself an anchor to the mortal world, Primus created an avatar for himself, built in his image.
That avatar being Rung.
He would use this new body to explore the world that has expanded and evolve in his absence. Noting down everything the galaxy has to offer, in spite of the ongoing Great War his subjects has undergo in his slumber.
He kept his true nature a secret, of course. He wouldn't want his subjects--nay, his children, to be frightened or declare him mad. That simply wouldn't do. He's simply here to observe, and perhaps help those who need it. He also tries to keep his presence on the down low as much as possible. Too much attention can spell disaster in the future.
Of course, both sides can never truly be in the dark for long about his presence. Words are bound to spread.
The whisper tells of a Cybertronian, dressed in a frame of golden copper with no battle armour, and yet bears no blemishes or dents or scratches in their frame, spotless to an unnatural degree. Some even say this mech possesses no visible kibble, suggesting a lack of an altmode.
They tell of a voice spoken softly, echoing with an almost other worldly aspect to it, almost hypnotic, able to calm the most hardened and scarred of Sparks.
They describe small and delicate servos, who's touch is gentle, oh-so gentle and caring, caressing battle hardened frames with a tenderness so foreign, yet leaves you craving more.
They say they bear optics, cobalt blue, that glows ethereally, alike that of a Cybertronian's spark. Underneath inconspicuous glass specs, are optics that would gaze at you with so much love and kindness, so full of pure honesty, not a speck of hatred or pain in sight. One can't help the feeling of affection and devotion coursing through them when they gaze into the eternal abyss of light.
Many had tried to search for this elusive mech, either searching for the same comforts given in the stories, or for more nefarious purposes; many failed. For this mech will simply appear on a whim, to be found when they want to be found. No matter what scanners you have, it being the most cutting edge technology in the entire universe, you'd have better luck finding Unicron themselves than this mysterious Cybertronian.
The lucky few who had managed to initiate contact, often get little results in their questioning. Their words are always spoken vaguely, like a seer of the mystical arts, never giving anything of importance away. Like they're humoring you, almost.
When all is said and done, they say the mech slips into a mist, and the next you blink, all tells of their presence is gone. Like they were never there to begin with.
Many names have been spoken to refer this mech. One example being "Celestial Architect". Another describes them as "The Mechanica Divine". "The Blessed One", "Guiding Hand", "Life Giver", and so much more. And yet, despite these titles, everyone can agree to one thing:
No one truly knows the true designation of this Cybertronian.
Whatever it is, it wouldn't be something so simple, not with their remarkable reputation across the galaxy. Imagine if it's something so unassuming, like "Rung"; that's just ridiculous.
.
.
.
Right?
(Somewhere in the vast distance of space, Rung sneezes.
"Is something the matter, my Lord?"
"Hm? Oh, yes, it is nothing of concern, Megatronus.")

Because I hold all the power, I say-
For my Transformers : Prime AU, I'm making several characters who are either really morally grey to the point of being morally black to just straight up insane folks have tamer personalities. Because the ansgt is good, but fluff is better.
We got Impactor, a rough and tough bot who everyone knows is secretly a loving dad bot to his Wreckers, Springer especially. Planet Pova? Never heard of 'em. Squadron X? What about 'em, he's got no time for a couple of brutes, he's too busy making Energon treats for Springer and his friends, kid needs them nutrients for growing his frame, even though he's an adult now. That's his bitty, goddamnit! And also, the Wreckers are his brother in arms, his family, he's personally recruited most of the squad and they've been plentiful help, in and out of battle. If any harm comes to them, you're answering with his fists, got it?
Next we got Whirl, an easily excitable bot who loves to do daredevil moves for the thrill. Empurata? What's that? He always got dem claws and a single optic for a face, it's just how his frame emerged from the Well. No one batted an eye (heh) with Shockwave, so why should he as a person does? And also these claws are actually really steady, made some really good watches with them. Impactor? Love the guy, he's like a brother from another mother, y'know? Owe him alot for taking him in the Wreckers, that's for sure. The others are also nice, even though they grumble every time he makes them watch his stunts.
Then we got Pharma, resident medijet with a ego but a big spark, dedicated to his field of work. He met Ratchet when he was a transfer from Vos who managed to slip by from his assigned caste to work on his dream job. Pharma owes everything to Ratchet for helping him back then. He took in a Decepticon defector named Ambulon as his assistant 'cause damnit if he didn't remind him of his old friend. Then his entire team got massacred by the then-still active DJD and got his medical license revoked and he and Ratchet are not on speaking terms but that's neither here nor there. His new student First Aid is his chance at redemption, and he only had him for a day and a half, but if anything happens to him he'll kill everyone and then himself.
Prowl, dedicated to law and the Autobot cause, but takes cues from his Animated incarnation so he's less reliant on pure logic and analytics and actually has emotions. Loves his companions dearly, like his Amica Bluestreak and his maybe-maybe-not-Conjunx Jazz. Can be silly if the situation isn't dire. Just a normal ass guy.
Red Alert, actually got some therapy and managed to dim down his paranoia streak so he doesn't scream his helm off every time a lightbulb goes out. Got himself a boyfriend in Inferno. And also frequently steals Bob from Sunstreaker for him to cuddle with. Awesome sauce.
And it's not just Autobots, some Decepticons will also be getting this treatment because uhh I say so-
Shockwave, with his whole shtick being less "extracted his emotions out of him via Shadowplay" and more like "he just lacks empathy and his just monotone in general". Shadowplay? Not a thing, he's just like that. Is willing to cooperate with the enemy as long as their goal is reached. Do y'all remember how polite he is to Ratchet? He's happy he got a fellow scientist to converse with. IDW Shockwave could never JNSDNJSBD. And also, he still got emotions unlike his IDW counterpart, and I'm betting with my left kidney that someway, somehow Prime Shockwave would be appalled by IDW Shockwave's actions. I mean, the things he did in the name of logic... Pretty sure Prime Shockwave isn't that crazy.
Onslaught, leader of the Combaticons, secret resident protective older brother. A cold jerk on the outside, but his Gestalt mates knows better. Always got Swindle out every time a deal goes off the rocks and scolds him afterwards for endangerin himself. Spends alone time with Blast Off to ease his anxieties. Has mock battles with Vortex and Brawl. All done quietly of course, he has a reputation to keep.
Same with Motormaster, despite his anger issues he's very protective of his Gestalt. Indulges Wildrider in his insane-ridden ramblings. Hangs out with Dead End and reassures him they're not going to die. Let's Drag Strip win in their squabbles so he has more confidence in himself. Lets Breakdown hide behind him whenever something ticks his paranoia. Though he's still an asshole brother.
The Constructicons being the most tight knit Decepticon Combiner team. Scrapper looking out for his brothers. Hook repairing them every time without fail, despite his grumblings. Mixmaster always making them the best Energon combinations for the best flavour. Scavenger making them all little trinkets from scrap. So on, so forth.
Man, I love not giving a fuck about famous interpretations of characters in media and the fandom and making up new things for them because Transformer is a cluster hell for differing and contrasting content every year. Hasbro has simply given me the ingredients, and I'm making dessert out of 'em.

I have a feeling that if every other incarnation of Prowl to ever exist were to meet their IDW counterpart, they would instantly hate him LMAO
Like, straight on ON SIGHT, hate. Especially for Cartoon G1, Animated and perhaps even Prime or Earthspark. Mr. I-drink-warcrime-juice is cancelled in the Council of Prowls, no questions asked

Sometimes I feel like the only who's thinking about this, but-
Am I the only one who doesn't really like the direction the Trailblazer is going? Personality wise.
Ever since the Penacony living garbage men scenario, it feels like the MC has devolved from our self insert to the game to this goofball of memes and trash humor. Not that I mind it, the MC having a personal obsession with trashcans all the way from Belobog is nice, gives the MC a bit of their own personality in-game outside of our actions. But after it got immensely in the community, the Devs in turn really embraced it in game (even made several events about them, not counting the entire Penacony patch) and sort of made it part of thier personality? If that makes sense?
Personally, I don't really like it.
It was funny the first time, with the whole "haha my dream of living garbage men came true, what a wonderful world this is" but afterwards it got kind of stale and boring (and sort of cringy, not gonna lie). I miss the days where the MC was more ambiguous with their dialogue choices and actions, allowing us to really insert ourselves into the game. Because, to my knowledge, the HSR MC's are blank slates, unlike the Genshin twins or the ZZZ Phaeton siblings (courtesy of our memory erasure from Kafka, no doubt).
Perhaps the various headcanons I've made for my MC over the years affected my perception, so I've build up an image of how the MC is as a person. Even if it contradicts how the rest of the community views them, or even how the Devs view them as of this moment. But honestly, isn't me having a different image of them the whole point of the self-insert MC? Y'know, what Caelus and Stelle technically are?
But this is just my opinion. Despite my complaints, I know I won't be able to change what's happening right now, so all I can really do is just take it. But a girl can dream, y'know? I suppose that's where fanfiction comes in LOL.

Every time I look up the TF Drift tag here, I can't help but think like--
On one hand, we have IDW! Drift, religious to a T, cheeky and lighthearted in most situations, approachable if you don't mind his talkings of finding faith in the darkest times and all that slag. Then there's RID: 2015 Drift, no-nonsense and blunt, rarely shows any other emotion that's not stoicism, and a perfectionist bundled in honor.
Two very different characters on the surface, and yet at their core are still the same person. Can't really explain it too well, just something I can't help but feel, y'know?
Though I wonder what would happen if they ever meet each other? Would RID! Drift be annoyed by his counterparts seemingly endless optimism and light heartedness? Would IDW! Drift be disturbed by the lack of joy in his counterparts face (which probably reminded him of his Deadlock days)?
Something I frequently think about.

Y'know, I've seen it float around my FYP here for quite a while now by some people, but I've never really get why it's so widespread.
What I mean is, the headcanon that underneath his visor, Jazz's eyes is light purple-ish and has a sort of crazy look to it? Or not even that sometimes, just normal blue eyes but with the crazy look. I don't know if it's merely a stylistic choice or it's actually just like that, but it's there.
Is this a sort of widespread headcanon that's been accepted by the fandom? Like how (mostly) everyone accepts Bumblebee is Optimus' son? Or how Seeker behaviour is like that of birds? Something like that?
Honestly for me personally, I just see Jazz having normal eyes behind that visor of his. It's just habit to wear it at all times, even indoors or something. So this headcanon kinda surprised me and I wanna know where it came from.

I'm debating whether or not to put the Rescue Bots as a separate category or just putting them under the Neutral category. Since my interpretation for the group is that they're an Autobot-aligned Neutral group, so they're not technically full on Autobots, even though they have the Autobot symbol on their own, y'know? They're a neutral group with Autobot values, if that makes sense.
There's a couple more groups I plan to add (like Mercenaries or the Star Seekers/Raiders). They're neither Autobot or Decepticon, so it makes sense to put them in the Neutral category. But at the same time, they're not truly Neutral? IDK, I hope I got my point across anyhow.
So what should I do?
I am going insane
So since Transformers : Prime was the first Transformers series I completed (technically speaking), it holds a special place in my heart despite the relatively short time I've been in this fandom compared to most people. And like all the previous fandoms I've been in, I thought; why not contribute something?
Introducing... whatever brainrot my brain has produced for a series about transforming alien car robots.
Feel free to read, to whoever bothers to in the first place lol. Hope my brainrot is an acceptable sacrifice for this fandom.

Sorry to intrude, but could you provide a link to the techno branch au fanfiction? It's just that I really want to read it (that story idea altered my brain chemistry you have no idea-) but I can't seem to actually find it.
Hi, I'm sorry to say that I can't seem to find it either. I'm not too familiar with how AO3's search function works despite using it for a few years now, but I tried every method I can think of and I still can't seem to find it. Biggest possibility I can think of is that the OP deleted the fic someway or another, so that's why it's unavailable.
I haven't been in the Trolls fandom for quite some time now (close to a year now, I think) so I don't know the on-goings of the fandom to know what happens to certain well known fics. Maybe things changed and the poster decided to abandon the work? Either way, I'm sorry I can't help you :(
Though I don't know if they updated it last time I saw it, but what I do remember about the fic is this:
It started with JD finding the egg in the tree, and it hatched to baby Techno Branch. Second chapter time skips to post-Escape, with Branch living in his bunker (but not to the age of the first movie, he was in his pre-teens if I have to guess) all Grey and depressed (also he wears a sweater). Cut to Creek and co harassing Branch 'cause he was "being mean to Poppy" and getting beat up for it, with him limping back to his Bunker and crying. Apparently Trollex (who's his father in this) can hear his cries 'cause of some Techno Troll telepathy and whatnot, as does Synth (who's also his son).
Cut to the Country Trolls (Hickory specifically I think) managing to find Branch wandering alone and reports to Delta, who decided to take him for ransom from the Techno Trolls for supplies or something. They confronted King Peppy, who accepted their offer to take Branch away (racist much?). Eventually Branch was returned to Trollex, who is less than happy to be there. Last chapter I read is basically just trying to get Branch acclimated to his new surroundings, I believe.
That's all I can think of from the top of my head. If anyone somehow managed to find the link to the fic, it would be very appreciated. I'm glad someone still has some interest in my silly little AU I made for laughs during my Trolls hyperfixations lol. The possibility for an update is... unfortunately still low. Unless they decide to make another movie, there's low chance I'll ever get back to this fandom. So what I have right now is what y'all get 😓
Thank you for the ask, Anon! I hope this answer is satisfactory for you.

HEAR ME OUT-
Transformers One Orion Pax/Optimus Prime and D-16/Megatron as this song:
youtube
The more I listen to it, the more the song fits the two characters' arc as the movie progresses.
Orion is obviously Celestia here, bright as the sun, full of outlandish ideas that stem from his genuine desire to help others around him. But he can be brash, reckless, and most importantly, flawed. So much so that, perhaps somewhere deep down, he failed to notice the growing darkness in his friend. Failed to notice the pain until it's too late.
And D-16 takes the role of Luna, reserved but dedicated to his goals. Quiet and solemn as the moon. Up until the truth was revealed. All of that anger and discontent, hidden under a veil of obedience bursts out, like he finally had enough. Desiring power to quell his need for revenge against the world who had abandoned him.
It makes sense, doesn't it, if you think about it? Please don't say I'm insane even though I technically am-

More thoughts on the Iacon Raised! Smokescreen AU
At first glance, it's obvious to see that Smokescreen is Praxian; he has the classic doorwings, the common red chevron, and the sleek car altmode that Praxians tend to favour. But looking closer, you can see some things that diffrentiate him from most who shares his frame. Subtle, but it's there if you know what you're looking for.
Putting this under the cut 'cause it's gonna be long.
The biggest example I can think of from the top of my head is his head crest. Like, the thingy that connects his chevron to the top of his helmet? That thing. I know some have already pointed it out in the past, so I'd like to add that little tidbit to this headcanon of mine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Out of all the shapes his head crest can have, it has to be exactly like Optimus' own. Well, Smokescreen's doesn't have grates in them, but still. Don't tell me that's a coincidence.
Tumblr media
I want to say Smokescreen is the only bot with the same head crest shape as OP, but that'll be a lie; Ultra Magnus also has it. But only by a slight margin! It might just be an Iaconian thing honestly, which helps fuel my headcanon. (Also look at these two sillies, "someone will die" "of fun!" blorbos <3)
Speaking of similarities-
Tumblr media
Here's Prowl! Possibly the most Praxian to ever Praxian in the eyes of the fandom (and me, or else why would I make this post?). Even though in one continuity he's not from Praxus but shhh.
(Also this image here is from I believe a cancelled Transformers game that's set in the Prime continuity, so technically speaking this is Prowl's "canon" Prime design. So for simplicity's sake we'll run with it for this post.)
Right from the get-go you can see the similarities between Prowl and Smokescreen. You got the classic doorwings, the red chevron, they even got the same shoulder pad shape and leg silhouette! Sort of. But you get what I mean.
But that's where the similarities end. Sure, he got the main characteristics down, but if you look closer you can see some subtle differences. Smokescreen's chevron is longer and curves to the back of his helm, while Prowl's is shorter and doesn't curve to the back, it's more plastered at the front. Smokescreen also got the... kibble thingies at the sides of his head that Prowl lacks.
Speaking of kibble, Smokescreen visibly has a lot more kibble than Prowl plastered everywhere, along with sharper edges more pronounced at his arms and legs. Honestly sometimes I think Smokescreen is too overly designed 'cause WHY would you need so much layer after layer of armour? Isn't that shit hard to move around in, with so many pointy bits poking you at every opportunity? But then I remember folks like Predaking and suddenly, he's not too bad.
Last thing I want to point out between the two is the doorwings themselves. Prowl's doorwings are more sharp and angular, pointing upwards. Smokescreen, however, has more flat shaped doorwings, smoothed out on the edges. It might be a simple matter of design preferance, but it's something worth noting.
And also, I just want to put this out there (sorry for the low quality, this is the only picture I can fine of this instance):
Tumblr media
If you look closely at Prowl's back, you can see his wheels are separate from his doorwings. Kind of like Knock Out, if you think about it. Why is this significant? Well-
Tumblr media
Smokescreen's wheels are merged with his doorwings. I don't know how that happens since when looking at his vehicle mode, the wheels are set apart from the doors-
Tumblr media
But maybe it's just Transformers logic with the mass shifting the series is fond doing, and I'm looking too deep into this. But anyway!
I like to imagine that because of this, Smokescreen has more freedom in terms of expressing his intent and emotions with his doorwings because of the lack of wheels blocking his way somewhat, unlike Prowl who can only do so much without his wheels stopping him from straining the limb. Just another thing to note about Smokescreen, me thinks.
Again, this might just be a fact of design preference when it comes to these two, since everyone in the series (minus the obvious examples like the Vehicons or the Insecticons) all look visually different. Bumblebee and Cliffjumper have shared the same form, height and everything in multiple pieces of media, but in Prime they couldn't be any more different. Maybe it's the same here for Prowl and Smokescreen (and Bluestreak by proxy) to give some individualism to these characters, a sense of identity to separate them I guess. Which I can respect. But still-
Something worth noting.
--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---
That's all I can find in terms of physical differences and similarities. And that's only from looking at official concept art. If I were to truly go into headcanon territory, I'd say Smokescreen's head shape, while distinctly Praxian, is more rectangular if you look at it in a certain angle, similar to the common Iaconian bot.
His armour is also a tiny bit thicker compared to the average Praxian. I say this 'cause I imagine growing up in the middle of a war, never mind being born into it, causes some changes to one's that hasn't been seen in normal folks in order to adapt. In this case, more armour.
Because he has more armour on him, he sacrificed a bit of his speed in exchange. He's no pushover when it comes to high speed chases, he'll out speed any other vehicle in no time flat. But when compared to Bumblebee or Jazz, he's... not very slow compared to them, but more often than not he'll lag behind.
--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---
I think I'll have to stop here since this post is already too long for anyone finds this and takes time off their schedule to read it, which- I appreciate you if you do, thank you for listening to a stranger ramble about hypotheticals about a fictional car <3
I'll definitely make more posts about this once I written down enough headcanon material to do so, to which I already have several; the next topic is about EM Fields and language barriers.
And ooooh boy, does it get angsty fast ;)
Until then, take care!

I've seen like, interpretations of the Transformers One bots being like, +20 or +30 feet tall while still being uncogged and-
To that I say nah, 'cause I lowkey vibe more with the height charts shown here, and other posts like it, so if I ever like, draw the TFO bots one day they'll probably be as tall as the Knightverse bots, or taaller by a small margin.

OKAY! The Praxian/Iaconi thing I've been mentioning in the Smokes and Magnus thing! It's time to explain it!
Technically, this applies to most any Aligned work I do, whether canon, divergent, or AU. I like this concept a lot. However, with the Smokes and Magnus thing, Ultra Magnus is there and Smokescreen gets to talk it out. They've got a long time til they get to Earth, I imagine this conversation will eventually go somewhere.
Anyway, Smokescreen is very obviously Praxian, he's got the doorwings and everything. But if you ask him, he will never say he's from Praxus. As far as he's concerned, his only home is Iacon. So he says he's Iaconi.
Why? Because he never got a chance to know anything about Praxus. The city fell and he wasn't there. Probably off training to be an Elite Guard or something. Regardless, he wasn't there and never spent much time in Praxus anyway.
Now, Magnus would be the one asking why for all this, which means Smokes has to explain this all to him. Neither of them really understands the others point on the matter at first. Smokescreen is so clearly Praxian, why wouldn't he want to embrace that part of himself, and why should Smokescreen's frame actually matter at all. His time was spend in Iacon, not Praxus.
On top of all that, Smokescreen has no real ties to Praxus. He didn't know the city or its people well at all. And it was gone before he could ever learn about it.
It's definitely more angst than the other stuff so far, but it's always rattling around in my brain when it comes to Smokescreen
#YOU#YOU UNDERSTAND#like think about it#this incarnation of Smokescreen is young#not like his original G1 counterpart where hes possibly an adult about Prowls age more or less#so he knows a lot more about Praxus cause chances are he was there when it happens#and since the Aligned continuity is not so Aligned you can say this Smokescreen was also present during the Fall#but imagine if he was not#imagine if he was rlly that young that he missed the destruction of his quote unquote hometown#like it make sense doesnt it#so he doesnt know jack crap about what Praxians do because shocker#hes technically not Praxian#by frame sure but by birth? he technically wont be wrong if he says like#he was born on Iacon cause chances are by that time Iacon is the only safe place for new forges to be formed#you cant rlly call a place your home if youve never been in it right?#the angst potential that can come from this#like smokescreen being nonchalant about not being from praxus in his perspective#meanwhile those present during the Fall are like#how can you just say that that was your home!#or smth like that#for optimus maybe all he feels is regret cause smokescreen is unable to fully experience the Praxus life#yknow?#for Prowl and Bluestreak is maybe an expected reaction like grief and pain#yknow the classic Praxian angst#i can def see Prowl trying to connect Smokescreen with Praxus culture cause theres not rlly alot of Praxians left#so they gotta preserve the culture somehow#also WOW IM SO SORRY ABOUT THE RAMBLE DIVERGING FROM UR AU I JUST RLLY LOVE SMOKESCREEN ><#hes my boo my precious son <3#tfp smokescreen#tfp smokescreen headcanon

Meet White Vortex!
Tumblr media
vv Here's their vehicle mode, or something closely resembling it vv
Tumblr media
More info under the cut!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Name : White Vortex Species : Metal Cardbot Pronouns : They/Them Eye Colour : Emerald Green Height : 7 ft/2,1 m Vehicle Mode : Kawasaki Ninja H2 Allegiance : Rogue (former), Edo Workshop (current)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Back at Planet Machina, it's uncommon to find Metal Cardbots in White Vortex's size. Unfortunately, because of this, they're subjected to a lot of bullying and discrimination due to their size being "miniscule" and "weak". This left a deep fear of people, especially those bigger than them, within the Cardbot, causing them to be closed off from the outside world to spare them the pain.
But if you somehow, by some miracle from Deus Machina itself, managed to breach their walls, then you'll find that they're... kind of awkward when it comes to a conversation. No surprises there, to be honest.
White Vortex, while seemingly cold and aloof to outsiders, is far from that. They're a soft spoken, kind and loyal individual, who will try their best to please those who they deem trustworthy. This can come across as overbearing at times, so the best option is to gently tell them off (though the end result is highly dependent on the Cardbot's response to it all).
Overall, White Vortex is a good bot in heart, and a faithful friend to have, who will remain at your side 'till the bitter end.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If this looks rushed, it's 'cause it is. I couldn't be bothered to make a fancy refsheet since the time I take to draw digitally is about 3-5 days, so I just drew it all on paper, did some Ibispaint magic, and here's the result lol.
But anyway, here's my attempt at making a Metal Cardbot OC! I'm both surprised and not surprised a Korean kids show about transforming alien car robots got me hooked on its premise so fast. I mean, I'm also currently into Transformers, so I guess it's a given lol.
To my knowledge, all the currently known Metal Cardbots has mostly been cars and planes, with the occasional boats and animals. But I've never seen one who's a motorcycle, so I thought, "why not make one?". The premise might get debunked later as the show goes on, but a person can dream, right? Besides, it's just a harmless OC, so no harm done.
Anyway, the inspiration from their design mostly comes from, well, Transformers obviously. More specifically ROTB Arcee, Bayverse Sideswipe, and TFP Optimus Prime. I know the Cardbots all look blocky and not lean like what I have here, but my reasoning is that since they're a motorcycle, they don't really have a lot of kibble to form armour with. Hence, their slender appearance. I also took reference of real biker helmets for their head.
I was debating on colours for a good while when I was working on this, going from pure black, grey, blue and teal. But I decide to go with a simple colour scheme, a monochrome look if you will. It works somewhat at a lore standpoint, they don't want to draw too much attention at themselves, and that plan fails if they have neon blue and red as their pain or something. Perhaps I could add some green accents to match their eyes in the future and add some variety to their look, who knows.
Anyway, for their weapons and abilities, that will probably come in a later post. I'm still debating on what will it be. One idea I have floating around is a Weapons Card named Tread Wheels, which are just basically wheel attachments, with spikes so you know it's dangerous lol. One ability I have for this is called Vertigo Kick, where if the spike managed to pierce a Cardbot's armour, the energy from the kick will then be absorbed into that Bot's processor, causing it to malfunction. This causes their vision to glitch out, showing copies and after images and their hearing is amplified or decreased depending on the Bot.
It's not concrete yet, so expect things to change.
But until that day comes, here's what we got for now! Until then!
So I've binge-watched the entire first season of Metal Cardbots (and watched a few episodes of Season 2), and...
Gotta say, it's a pretty neat show! I was surprised it only has an 11 minute showtime per episode, but it's not the first time I've seen cases like this (lookin' at you, Transformers Cyberverse...)
But anyway, I really like the designs for these characters! Generally speaking they all got the same "body shape", so to speak, but each are relatively unique that you can tell them apart with just a sillhouette (god how do u spell that word-)
I also like the interactions the characters have with eachother, even if it's brief! Since it's ultimately a kid show I understand that their relationship and problems aren't as deep as you'd expect, but what we have is good enough in my book. I especially like Shadow X's interaction with the others, the ol' mischievous type kid character ticking off the easily temperamental ones is one I enjoy immensely.
I forgive alot of the stuff in the show since it's, again, for kids, but the one thing I can't help but comment on is the amount of property damage the Bots do on a daily basis. Like, one is running over gates and sidewalks, one is destroying walls, and one is just making- BOMBS! Like, I'm very surprised with how advance the world is that these guys haven't been caught yet causing massive property damage. Like damn!
But anyway, I've been immensely enjoying this show a whole ton. It's a good show to turn my brain off to admire the colours and laugh at the characters making stupid desicions. If there's a cartoon you need to show your kiddos, this is the one! Can't recommend it enough!
But since I got so far here, my mind started,,, wandering. And if my mind wanders, that could only mean-
OC TIME, OC TIME, OC TIME-
*cough*
Anyway, until next time!
My curiosity cannot be ignored anymore
Does anyone know where I can watch Metal Cardbot? It appeared in my Instagram FYP a while ago, and while I don't understand anything said (duh, since it's Korean), the concept that I managed to catch is interesting. Interesting enough that I want to give it a watch
Even if it has a nonsensical plot and silly characterization (makes sense since it's "for kids") I'll probably still enjoy it, shut off my brain, y'know lol
So anyway, are there any websites that I can visit to watch the show? Is it available on like, Netflix or something? Or Hulu? Or Bilibli (whatever the fuck the name is)
Or I can just... pirate it lmao
Only problem I'll have is the lack of subs 'cause I can't understand shit, but I guess I can look for fan translations if anything
But anyway, if anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it!
