four episodes into GOT and here are my very early thoughts:

- love ned, love arya, love jon, love bran, LOVE daenerys. not sure how i feel on a personal level about tyrion but i like him as a character if that makes sense?

- jaime and cersei are really fucking irritating i hate their screen time cersei is the most boy mom to ever boy mom ever and i hate that

- i hate that snivelling ugly stupid bastard little fucking prince joffrey SO much

- i HATE viserys and i hope when daenerys eventually gets the dragons that i know she’ll get she burns him to a fucking crisp

- the starks mother (cat?) is cool and all and i appreciate that she loves her kids but jon deserves to give her a punt around the fucking face for the way she treats him as if it’s his fault he’s a bastard

- daenerys and that one dothraki girl should kiss on the mouth and ride into the sunset

we absolutely do not talk enough about sirius’s comfort with dark magic and how this might affect the way he uses magic as a whole. he grows up in a house and family steeped in it. dark magic would be normalised as something part of every day life. it’s not scary or forbidden, and perhaps not inherently bad. think about how unfazed he is with the dark objects unearthed in grimmauld place - the curses are just a nuisance, something which might have held some logical purpose in a particular way of life, but are annoying in this context to deal with. sirius doesn’t see all dark magic as always inherently bad - he’s more concerned with the people and purposes behind it. I am so so fascinated with how an already morally grey character with a lot of power and a deep familiarity with dark magic would act under pressure. in a war, when he’s trying to protect people, when he’s tormented by trauma. if he knows how to do magic other people don’t and is comfortable doing that magic then what magic does he actually do. how is it wound into who he is and how blurred do the lines become
