a gorgeous Elwing and seabirds....
Elwing on the shores of Aman

She's Elrond's mama, of course she is soft and beautiful. I headcanon that she started drawing so that she could show Earendil her life when he is gone, things like the twins (when she was still in Sirion), pretty flowers and birds etc

Boromir lives, and was never going to let Aragorn enter Minas Tirith without a fanfare 📯
Boromir Week, Day 6: Change of Fate

The note from Boromir's horn bounded high and clear, ricocheting off broken, soot-stained stone. A swell of voices rose into the air, cheering and shouting.
“The King of Gondor has returned!” he bellowed, sweeping his arm to Aragorn over his shoulder. “Long live King Elessar Telcontar, heir of Isildur!”
Aragorn was sitting straight and tall on his horse, his mouth set, but his eyes betrayed the barest spark of shell-shock. Boromir wasn’t going to let him think about it. He squeezed his horse’s flanks and started forward. Aragorn’s horse instinctively followed, and behind them the cumbersome train of their friends, comrades, and vanguard fell into step.
They passed through the first gate, which was no more than the stubs of towers, rimed with ash and gouged by ballistae. Still, gate wardens stood on top of the rubble, and the heralds released a peal from their trumpets. First, the two rising notes that signaled peaceful news to the city, and then the short burst that had been preceding Boromir his whole life. The Captain was entering the city. Growing up, Faramir would buzz it through pursed lips whenever Boromir stumbled out of bed or emerged from the jakes. But following after was a ring that hadn’t been heard from the ramparts of Minas Tirith since the second age. A clear swirl of notes, rising into the morning air.
The King was entering the city.
A snippet from a fic I wrote a few years ago. We all know Boromir Lives is my lifeblood, and one of my favorite concepts is Boromir reinventing himself as the pillar that holds up and legitimizes Aragorn as king.

Ooo, in case you haven’t drawn her already I’d love to see Miriel in your style! Or if not, then perhaps some of the other Fëanorian / related-to-Finwë ladies <3

Míriel (or at least how I see her <3)
it’s a shame we didn’t get to see much of her, I find her very interesting
also as I see from other requests people want to see more women and here I was drawing only men basically :D
I will draw and post the rest soon!

sweet Gimli and Legolas
pls more gimli & legolas!!
As requested! At hindsight I didn't like my original Gimli design, so I wanted to anyway make a new design. I got very into detailing those metallic parts and shading them so I decided it would be a black and white drawing.

Anyway, here's a lil forehead kiss, as a treat.

The Silmarillion - a family saga
Another thing I really love about the silm is that it is essentially one long family drama. LOTR is a war allegory (Shut up JRR we all know it is) that positions the "little people" read the simple people who the war harmed as the main characters. But the silm is a very personal tale about a family that is ripped apart by the desire for vengeance and the inability to process their pain and betrayals.
Like Feanor's quest i s extremely personal. It's not really about anyone but him and that is completely fine and understandable tbh. He's not greedy as some people might say. He lost his mother and never got over it and now he has lost his father and he wants revenge. I would feel the same way!
But this quest ends up destroying his children who lose him in turn and are now on this thousand year impossible quest to get closure for their pain which is impossible and it spreads its tendrils to their cousins. I mean Fingolfin goes on this quest for his father sure but also his brother whom he loved and never had a relationship with. He chooses feanor over his wife, like. And then Fingon and Aredhel and Argon all die for this and at the heart of it grief.
Of course COH is obviously a family story. Beren and Luthien is too in some ways. More than anything Earendil and Elwing's story is one of triumph - their sons live! They become incredibly important people in the story of Middle Earth though they don't get to see it.
But in a sense, the Silmn is the story of how one family is ripped apart by trauma and grief. The silmarils represent the heart of the Finwions, and that heart is lost and broken. The love was there and it tore them all apart.

Glorfindel returns from fighting the Witch King of Angmar with fëa injuries; Erestor will see it....
Seven Sentence Someday
Thank you @dreamingthroughthenoise for the tag! This is something I'm working on for a silmkinkmeme prompt, so have a Glorfindel returning from the war with Angmar. (Pls excuse any grammar errors that slipped thru)
Glorfindel by sheer muscle memory pressed back against Erestor's lips, his mouth numb and unfeeling, the passion of his heart lacking, refusing to ignite. Distantly Glorfindel recognised that something was wrong with him, but the disconnect between himself and the world did not let him feel anything else other than cold fatigue.
Parting from the kiss, not even able to taste the sweetness of Erestor lingering on his tongue, he tried to shape his lips into his recently adopted fake smiles.
Erestor's shrewed eyes narrowed instantly. They bore sharply into Glorfindel's dimmed gaze and his fëa reached out inspecting their marriage bond, inspecting Glorfindel, searching.
Erestor's mind felt warm against the chill of the Black Breath shrouding his soul, and like a moth to a flame he leaned into Erestor's spiritual embrace. He hadn't felt so cold since the crossing of the Helcaraxe.
"I see," Erestor said, eyes softening in understanding.
No pressure tags @chthonion @polutrope @thecoolblackwaves @melestasflight and anyone else who would like to do this
