One of the coolest parts about being a fan of fanfic is you can actually contact the author. And they will respond. And then you can message them nonstop until they allow you into their lives and then you’re becoming their beta reader and suddenly you know multiple authors of all types of fiction books and fanfic authors who will drag out their deleted fics for you to read at a moments notice.

Anyway. Comment on fics and message authors. It’s absolutely worth it.

one thing I didn’t miss about writing this fic during my unofficial hiatus is that it makes it exceptionally difficult to be around my father because it forces me to Remember

wrote like 500 words of lykmc today, which is 500 more than I’ve written in the past five months. I had just decided to officially take a break too, and suddenly I’m writing again?? it really is crazy how little control I have over my own mind

It really is crazy how if you mention you write fanfiction with people outside fandom, they're always like "you should change the names and try to sell it." It misses the point (fun), but more importantly to me, I get slightly (and I know irrationally) insulted on a craft level. Excuse me, my fanfic is entwined with the canon, thank you very much. I wish sometimes less entwined. You wouldn't believe the stupid bullshit some of my fics have to include because of canon.

The thing is, I’m not trying to start drama. The opposite actually. I’m also not trying to bully you into not talking about your dislike for omegaverse or pregnancies or any headcanon. All of that is valid.

But looking at the wording of your post, it’s extremely condescending to say the least. You could’ve posted all of that without using the main tags for Captive Prince.

listen. idk how to explain to you that on tumblr, the tagging system is primarily a way to organize posts. if I make a post about captive prince that isn’t inherently critical of the source material, I’m tagging it as “captive prince” for my own blog archives. if you’re going to scroll through the entire website’s aggregate captive prince tag, you’re going to have to be prepared to see posts you disagree with. that’s a choice you’re making. I’m sorry you found my wording condescending. that wasn’t my intention. but I’m not going to delete it or untag it if that’s your goal here

Why would you post this in the main tag if it wasn’t directed at the pregnant Laurent fanart going around (mind you if you scroll through the tag it’s right next to each other). Everyone can have preferences but it’s such a faux pas to do this in the main tag. Just something to think about.

I’m going to assume you’re talking about the post where I said I don’t think Laurent would carry a pregnancy. so the thing is that’s literally just an opinion? about Laurent. from captive prince. hence the tag. I said to each their own? I said nothing negative about the art? I said nothing negative about captive prince? I said nothing negative about people who like that idea? I’m sorry if my post offended you but please don’t come in here trying to start drama where there really doesn’t need to be any. no one is taking pregnant Laurent away from you.
