Hey! I was just wondering, do you usually start with a sketch before working on a piece? I don’t think I’ve ever seen any of your WIPs, so I was curious about your process 😊 Also, what program do you use to draw?

Hello 🤗

Well, I do draw sketches sometimes. Sometimes not. I have some timelapse I sent to @choco-froggie a few weeks ago to show the difference in how I proceed with and without a sketch that I will put in this post! (I merged them because we can only put one video per post 😂) I actually don't really like posting WIPs for two reasons:

- I'm never very confident in what I'm drawing, so I don't really want to share them when I find them horrible 😂 I know, trust the process and all, but my sketches aren't that good, and I'm not feeling comfortable to share them most of the time. @choco-froggie and @noxxytocin are probably the only ones who saw them 😂

- Posting a WIP kinda puts pressure on me as : I need to finish it or I'll feel bad 😂 I already did it before and never finished the piece, and it felt like I didn't keep some inexistent promise I made to myself by posting it. So now I prefer to not say anything in case I end up rage delete everything.

I use procreate MOSTLY. I do have clip studio but I prefer the portability of my iPad and procreate and as I use the same brush practically every time, it's also more practical for me! Though I'm not drawing a lot these days for multiple reasons 😂

'Soulmates' not in the sense that you were predetermined to be together by some higher power or natural order, but rather because this idiot butchered a dark magic ritual and accidentally tied your very essences together for all eternity, and after being connected for a couple hundred years on the deepest, most intimate level possible you've kind of grown to care for the asshole.

I present Ominis the Cleric!

I’m a little surprised I finished this. Thought for sure I’d have to pause. But here we are.

Of all the characters I’ve brainstormed, picking Ominis’s class was the hardest.

The others were all no brainers. Ominis . . . was a puzzle.

I finally settled on Cleric after debating between it and Monk for, like, two weeks. The deciding factor was watching my hubby play BG3 again and befriend Shadowheart.

- While remarkably tank-y when built right, Clerics are most often healers and party support. Ominis is seldom part of the action, instead hanging back and offering assistance via advice. He is far from incompetent, but he doesn’t relish the heat of battle. (Monks are the most melee of melee fighters.)

- Clerics are tied to the organizations that trained them. Part of their draw is their close connection with a religious organization the DM can use to either help or hinder the party. (Basically, they’ve got some great built-in backstory baggage.) Ominis is tied to his family and his trauma, tied to the Sallow twins and their ordeal, and tied to his own warped need for penitence for his existence.

- Like Paladins, Clerics are driven to some strict moral or organizational code. For instance, a vehement rejection of dark magic.

Funnily enough, both Shadowheart and Ominis had to grow on me: I disliked them both at first because they pushed my buttons, but I grew to really enjoy their characterizations as I saw them through other people’s eyes.
