Chapter 19/26 posted! All 26 chapters are written and the story updates once a week. I am currently writing part 2 (won't lie it's more slow going than writing Part 1)!
Chris didn’t say anything else as they drove through the neighborhood. Eddie pulled into their driveway and turned off the truck. He sat there while Chris grabbed his crutches and tried to figure out a way to fix things. Chris went to open the door and Eddie hit the button to lock the car before he could.
“Dad,” Chris groaned and went to pull the lock up. He had barely gotten his hand to the handle after he’d manually unlocked it when Eddie hit the lock button again. “Are you serious right now?”
“We need to talk.”

Chapter 16/26 posted! All 26 chapters are written and the story updates once a week. I am currently writing part 2!
He kept his days full —dates, workouts, check-ins with Eddie. He wasn’t showing up every morning with muffins or scones at the station anymore, but once a week he’d bake something; a habit now more for appearances than sentiment. No one asked, and he didn’t volunteer. Not about Haylay, or Taylor, or even Jeremy. He wasn’t sure why, exactly. It wasn’t shame, but something quieter. Something that made him hold the details closer.
The loneliness hadn’t disappeared, but it had softened. Going out at night gave him something to look forward to, something to dress for, even if it didn’t always lead somewhere. Still, there was a quiet wrongness humming under it all —faint, like a song in another room. But with each new distraction, he got better at ignoring it.

Chapter 15/26 posted! All 26 chapters are written and the story updates once a week. I am currently writing part 2!
“You’ll have him back by five at the latest?” Ramon asked, his tone a little too casual. Eddie clenched his jaw, fighting the urge to snap. “That’s been explained to me multiple times,” he replied, his voice tight. He wanted to scream. Chris was his son, and he didn’t need to answer to anyone, especially not Helena or Ramon. The thought of them dictating when he could have time with his own child, putting restrictions on how he spent time with him, made his blood boil. But Chris had asked to stay with them, and Eddie wasn’t going to make a scene. He wasn’t going to let his anger take away this moment, however small it might be. So, he just held his ground, refusing to look at Ramon. “There’s no need to be so difficult, Eddie,” Ramon said, his voice turning more patronizing. “We all just want what’s best for Christopher.”

And another chapter posted! This story is finished and being posted once a week! It’s part one of a three part series!
‘Miss you’ had become their signature goodbye. The three phone calls they'd had since Eddie arrived in El Paso, every text conversation, and the two FaceTime calls when Eddie had struggled to figure out how to put together his bed frame had all ended with those same words. Miss you. They were simple, but they carried weight, though they didn’t quite capture how deeply Eddie wished Buck could be with him, at his side. Still, for now, it would have to do.

I think this is an unpopular opinion but…
*spoilers for 9-1-1 The Last Alarm*
I don’t care that Bobby being buried in Minnesota is poetic. I hate it. If Bobby really believes in the afterlife he doesn’t need to be buried next to his kids to see them again.
For me graves are more for the living than the dead.
Graves are a place for your loved ones to visit and talk and have a physical presence to help them grieve.
Like what do you mean for Bobby to be home he had to leave everyone living behind? He has two living step kids and a Buck that won’t get to put flowers on his grave. He has a living wife that won’t get to visit him. He has the living members of the 118 that won’t be able to sit by his grave and process.
Chimney is still mad. Eddie is still guilty. Buck is still repressing. Who knows what Hen is feeling because the episode barely focused on her. But when they all move to acceptance they won’t be able to visit Bobby’s grave and process. When Buck gets married or becomes Captain he won’t get to sit at Bobby’s grave and share that news?!
Again I know the Minnesota burial is poetic. I know it’s a beautiful thing. But I think it also ignores that Bobby loved the family he had built in LA. It ignores that he didn’t want to leave his people behind.
I’m also mad we spent so much of the episode on the not kidnapped kid. Like I get that the case helped Athena get to acceptance but I would’ve rather had an entire episode seeing the 118 dealing. Where was Eddie??? Where was Hen??? Where was Ravi??? Buck, barely there. Chim, barely there.
Why didn’t they show the body? Especially with Peter being in the episode. If a character is dead you show their body so there’s no doubt. We got a body bag and a coffin.
Bobby deserved more. Peter deserved more. The 118 deserved more

Doesn’t Change a Thing
Chapter 13/26 (already fully written)
Part 1/3 (already writing part 2)
“I keep picturing tomorrow morning,” Eddie said softly, his voice shaking, betraying the calm he was trying to maintain. “Like, I’ll wake up, and everything will be okay. Chris will be in his room, complaining about wanting waffles. We’ll get ready like always, and Bobby will be back at the firehouse. Everything would just be okay again.” He let out a short, bitter laugh, but it had no humor in it. It was hollow, and the sound of it died in the quiet of the room. “But it’s not okay.”

Buck (and by extension Oliver) was great on this episode. From his sit the fuck down moment at the bar to the lab angst... yeah, that's our Buckaroo right there 💕
Also loving his voice in recent years. Sooo different from earlier seasons

Eddie “confronting” his parents isn’t gonna be what I want. I have to prepare myself for the disappointment of the inevitable parental redemption arc.
I can look at things from Helena’s POV really I can. I am good about seeing multiple sides of things. But I don’t want to gloss over how much pain she’s caused Eddie. But I know the show will…

This is the fanfiction moment I want
I just know one of these days Helena is going to say something snarky about Buck and that’s going to be the straw that breaks the camel’s back

Listen this is long and rambling. It’s also just my thoughts/feelings. They hold no weight.
When both sides think they won it’s always funny. Listen I try hard to see the potential from a lot of angles. Cause I’ve been burned too many times in ship wars.
Was it a momentary win for *that man* sure. Honestly the cinematography on the makeout was really good. The tank top pull -super cute and playful. (Why won’t this show let two men be in bed together?) It was cute that there was breakfast for Buck. I actually saw more chemistry than ever before (but I really only see it on Buck’s side. It all feels one sided)
But having *that man* call Eddie the competition…?? Having him (a gay man that came out late in life) scoff at the mention of Eddie’s straightness…??
To me this reads as a move for the GA.
I think a lot of times the fandom forgets that there are people that watch the episode, turn it off, and don’t think or talk about the show until the next episode airs. Those people don’t have theories, they don’t follow the official social media, they don’t read interviews. What the show tells them is what they know.
And if they didn’t question Buck’s feelings before, if they didn’t question Eddie’s sexuality before -now they might. It opened the door for the GA to consider something they might not have considered before.
Because otherwise that was a pointless issue. Why have *that man* mention it? Why have him question it when Buck was talking about getting back together. The win was in grasp and he sidestepped it with a comment about Eddie.
Now does this mean buddie will happen…?? Maybe or maybe not. But I honestly don’t see how you go from admitting the entire time you were together you saw the best friend as competition back to dating. Now maybe *that man* will be back. Maybe Buck will see him again. Maybe it’ll fix things or maybe it’ll fully close the door. But if anyone was going to open the door to Buck (and the GA) about the idea of Eddie it makes sense to me that it would be that man.
Also when someone accuses my best friend of being their competition my response is “no I don’t like them like that” but Buck’s response is: I’m not in love with Eddie, he’s straight. 1. No one said LOVE until Buck did 2. What if he wasn’t straight, what’s stopping you then Buck?
Also, the only other media I’ve ever watched personally that had characters declare straightness this often in a short period of time, was But I’m a Cheerleader… and we all know how that ended.

Like I survived Destiel… but I’m not sure what this is
I dunno man, I had a lot of fun with that episode! As told a friend; I went through 15 years of Supernatural live as it aired, and not once did I ever actually feel like they would give us Destiel.
But this? This feels different!
