Yuri on Ice awards are coming!

Are you a writer or an artist? Do you have a favourite fic or drawing?

On June 10th, we will be naming the winners of the first annual Yuri on Ice Awards: a completely fan made and fan run event to celebrate all of the wonderful fan created content in the Yuri on Ice fandom.

Suggest any category you think will be good, for art or fiction! I’m open to all ideas!

i hope theres another event like this next year! And if so, whether you host it or just participate I hope i get to make you the best gift because you deserve all the gifts for this

I've been thinking about hosting another event a lot sooner than next year!One of the suggestions (the only one, actually) was white day, but that's a bit too early for me. I want to rest from this hahahBut a random gift exchange in April or May seems like a good idea, with more time to make the gifts this time and a limit on how many people can join, since 200 turned out to be too much.

It’s time to say goodbye!

Hello everyone! This will probably be the last time you hear from me.

Hosting this event has been a blast! No matter how irritated I got over some details, it’s truly an experience I’ll always cherish.

I’ll be moving this sideblog to another account now, so I won’t check the asks and messages anymore. 

Again, thank you all so, so much for participating and brightening up my would-be bland Valentine’s day. I hope you all enjoyed your gifts!

Omg I'm so excited for the reveal!! I thought the gifts were being posted at 12, but since it's past then have I made a mistake? Tysm for organising this all I can't wait to read/admire everything once it's up :)

Right, sorry about that ^^;; You see, I forgot to adjust the time zones on the blog, so it ended up mistakenly being scheduled for 5 hours later.

 Yuuri Katsuki, one of the biggest Tumblr users ever, happened to look up to Viktor Nikiforov. Viktor Nikiforov, one of the biggest YouTubers out there, happened to like Yuuri’s writings about him and other people.

Yuuri was just typing away on his computer when a message popped up on his computer. He giggled slightly when he saw his name spelled wrong. He answered the person before clicking on their icon, which so happened to be one of his idols. He scrolled through multiple selfies of Viktor Nikiforov, then slowly stopped. He clicked off of Tumblr before looking on his Instagram. He looked up Viktor and, holy shit, the Tumblr link on his Instagram was the same as the Tumblr. Yuuri started screaming, scaring his dog beside him as he covered his face while continuing to freak out. After he finally, and not his last, got done screaming, he (not so calmly) typed his answer. His fingers were shaky, which made him misspell Viktor’s name.

And when Viktor used his line, Yuuri lost it.

kyuut; that’s my line! vnikifo; mine now kyuut; anywaysanyways why did you message me??? vnikifo; well, my friend read one of ur writings vnikifo; then asked me to read it vnikifo; so i did and it was rlly good Yuuri felt a large smile stretch onto his face before he stood from his chair, then proceed to dance around his room. He let out giggles, picked up his dog and danced around with him in his arms, and rolled around on his bed. His idol, his friends, read Yuuri’s writings. Honestly, he had never felt this much joy since he hit his first hundred followers.

kyuut; ohmygod thank you???? kyuut; liek hearing that from you makes me rllyrlly haeppy?? kyuut; gosh im so happy i cant type lolol vnikifo; good, u should be happy. u derserve that vnikifo; o im getting sappy, ttyl? Yuuri was sure, his lungs could no longer lung.

“Viktor Nikiforov here with another video but today is much different.” Viktor started his video while smiling. He held his laptop in his lap while his long hair was tied back, he kept kyuut’s page up and one off his favourite writings by the writer. “Instead of my weird, goofy videos, or hair tutorials, today I will be reading an excerpt of something that I love.”

Viktor continued to talk, explaining that he read from kyuut a lot, and how they’re such and inspiration to so many people. Even though the writer has revealed their name, his face and gender was left unknown. He explained about how no one actually knew him, he gave such vivid images with the way they wrote things. Finally, Viktor started reading it. He made little notes of what he thought about it and things that he like the most. He then got so enhanced in the story that he started to read silently to himself, totally forgetting he was recording. Viktor was finally brought back into reality and ended the video with kyuut’s link in the description. He decided to edit that later, so he just messaged the writer, not really expecting them to reply back.

Yuuri was their name, and Viktor found them very charming. They seemed timid and shy when they talked to people. Viktor smiled at his screen before gently letting the author go.

Three months has passed, and the two still talked. They shared Skype usernames, texted each night and sometimes were on call with one another. Yuuri admitted he was male, and found his inspiration from Viktor and nature. The two both like to ice-skate, and eat…a lot. Viktor shared things about him and never stopped talking to be honest. But one day, Viktor suggested that they should meet up one day. The call was silent and in a small voice, Yuuri said he had to leave. Viktor didn’t mind, and never brought the subject up again. Unless Yuuri was comfortable with it, then they’ll talk about it.

“Would you ever like to meet someday?” Viktor asked one night as he edited a video. The tapping of keys on the other line seemed to stop slowly before picked up speed again.

“Maybe? I don’t know, I get nervous new people.” Yuuri admitted slowly. Viktor looked at his black screen before smiling softly. He knew that Yuuri could see him since he always had his camera on.

“Yuu~ri.” Viktor said bringing his mic closer to his lips. “Don’t you already know me?”

“Yes? Maybe? I just get nervous, okay?” Yuuri sounded frustrated at himself as he sighed deeply. Viktor smiled then laughed softly.

“Well whenever you’re ready, I’ll be here. Okay?” Viktor said with such gentleness that made Yuuri feel safe and warm.

“Okay.”

It was another three months before Yuuri finally agreed to meet up. Viktor was looking forward to April 26, and was totally ready for that day to come by. Yet  when that day did come, Viktor wasn’t ready. He wasn’t ready to pick up Yuuri, he wasn’t ready to meet him face to face. What did Yuuri even look like? What if Yuuri didn’t show up? Finally, Viktor arrived at the airport, ready to pick up the writer. Viktor didn’t have to wait long, gladly, before a pair of arms wrapped around his torso. Yuuri was much shorter than Viktor had imagined, and yet he wasn’t complaining.

“I’m here, are you happy?” Yuuri murmured into Viktor’s jacket. Viktor laughed, turned himself around and grabbed the younger man. He kept Yuuri in a tight embrace, nudging his face in Yuuri’s raven hair before sighing deeply. Viktor pulled away, seeing Yuuri for the first time since they met. Viktor laughed, seeing Yuuri’s glasses askew on his face. The two laughed before Viktor gave him a tour of Russia.

“Yuuri! We should do a video together! It’ll be your ultimate face reveal!” Viktor suggested and Yuuri rolled his eyes while propping his feet up on Viktor’s lap. They were relaxing on the couch, Viktor editing and Yuuri answering things in his ask box.

“I can make video’s of us and give them to you?” Yuuri suggested and Viktor groaned loudly, like it wasn’t enough.

“No!” He whined and Yuuri laughed at the extended word. “People will love you!”

“Nah, I have yours. That’s all I need.” Yuuri said before realizing what he said. Viktor raised an eyebrow at the younger man. “Not like that! I-I, look! It’s a weird fantasy? Maybe?”

Viktor giggled, literally giggled, at the blubbering mess name Yuuri before putting his laptop on the coffee table. He closed Yuuri’s, moved it to the side and laid on top of the Japanese man. Yuuri let out an ‘oompf’ as Viktor looked up at Yuuri. His blue eyes were swimming with curiosity as he stared at Yuuri, like he was the last person he’d ever see.

“I do love you.” Viktor whispered gently, smiling when a pink blush appeared on Yuuri’s cheeks. “Aw, does Yuuri have crush?”

“Maybe. Look, I’ve grown attached to you in the past six months. You treat me like an actual person and not a famous person. You helped me when my dog died, when I broke my ankle. Even when I refused to meet you the first time in the first three months. You were always beside me.“ Yuuri stared at the ceiling, renting things out. He seemed to be lost in thought, not even thinking about what he was saying. Viktor was happy to see this side of Yuuri, after this half year of bonding.

"Of course I would always be beside you. Even if I never saw you, I heard your beauty. You always smiled and I never wanted to see you frown.” Viktor admitted and Yuuri looked down at the Russian man. He raised an eyebrow, as if saying ‘oh really?’.

“Okay okay, I give up. You won.” Yuuri sighed and Viktor cheered while straddling Yuuri. The two giggled before Viktor kissed Yuuri’s forehead.

“Thank goodness for Christophe for showing me your writings.”

Yuuri burst out laughing.
