Just finished my part og the art trade with @fribe-mimi and because I'm so slow Fribe had to wait for a billion years. Waiting for Kyougoku Masamune! The prompt was afternoon tea at a pink lolita café & Kyougoku is indeed enjoying himself.

So just to say a little more, I tried this watercolour paper by a swedish brand consisting of 100% cotton for the first time. It is great to use & now a reasonable alternative to Aches or other very pricey brands. I also used gem- & perlecent paints, among other things Kyougoku's eyeshadow is shiny too :D

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!!!

For this particular drawing in my beloved Sakura sketchbook with inks and coloured pencils I spun a digital wheel to decide which Touken Ranbu characters I should draw. Pretty randomly because I eleminated my "go to" characters and chose about 5 characters from every category except Yari, since there are only so few and I only like... two of them? So there were a few more Tantou and Uchigatana or Tachi. So when I spun the wheel it gave me first Tomoegata Naginata and then Shizukagata Naginata and I thought the wheel was kidding me x'D

So it's my first time drawing those two. Plus! Very importantsly it was a lot of fun since both characters have SUCH FABULOUS HIGHHEELS and so flashy makeup, I love them!! Boys, how do you handle these heels I'm already breaking my ankles just by looking at those :O

Hi friends, I finished a silly little painting of Urashima Kotetsu riding on the back of his turtle-familiar Kamekichi. They're searching for shooting stars and look at all the planets out there! I should probably not say that, but I actually intended to make it all pastel and fluffy sugary, but since I was using Inktense, the colours turned out to be a lot more vibrant and now you have this... Oh well it's alright, I can make an alternative version where also Midare Toushirou is on the picture. And at that point I better make it pastel as intended x'D

It's obviously a fox and I have worked on it the past two weeks. I'm very aware that I have a looong way to go to get better at painting animals, but it's still a painting I really like.

I can finally share the Art Trade I have with @shibadin0art. We decided on Japanese Gods x Shiba Inu, while I personally love Japanese mythology and the greater and lesser kami, I think I gave Dino a slight headache. I decided on God of Thunder Raijin, who is often depicted with red skin, so here his clothes are made of red fabric. The Taiko in this version are energy balls which Raijin strikes with his katana to create thunder and lightning. I really wanted to make something more aggressive!

Good Morning and Happy Easter everyone! Midare Toushirou was in the middle of decorating for Easter and then some fluffy friends came by :)

Alright, let's call him done! Look! It's Kasen Kanesada and he's a pretty Touken Danshi. Ready to fight for the Saniwa and also surfing on a peony. This piece only (ahaaahahahaaa) took me around 30 hours, because I have been dumb and chose coloured pencils for this. Kasen Kanesada might not be my favourite Touken Danshi, but he is so pretty that I really enjoyed drawing him. I will probably draw more characters that I've always wanted to draw but kind of postponed.

I actually started this painting last year in Summer, but forgot about it and suddenly, we're in March the year later LOL.

As you can see I'm not able to render grass convincingly... or all the other natural things and that's something I really want to work on :) It doesn't have to be hyper realistic, but at least more than what I manage to paint now x'D

I have never tried a landscape painting like this, where there's a huge range of distance. So I tried to paint Mt. Kura in Japan where the Kuratake Shrine is placed. I haven't been there yet, but who knows if I will at some point. Yeha what should I say, I know that I can't just make masterpieces (if ever but you get it, right?) by doing a thing once, so I guess I have to practise a lot to get convincing results. However, I think that this is a good first try and every imrpovement will come with later paintings. I just think it is important to show the progress I make. Remember that all of us artists do follow a lifelong journey :3

It's March 1st and I long for Spring. There are a lot of weird things happening in the world, but at least the world is waking to a new Spring and it's also giving me the illusion that we can sometimes have some peaceful days. So, I painted a Japanese teahouse. I hope you all can distract yourselves from the weird and dark stuff happening all over the world.

I'm trying to paint animals more often. Frogs are difficult to paint, especially because their skin should be more... you know, wet-looking? Also, I'm not sure why, but the pink of the flowers are screaming so much compared to the blues and greens x'D I have no idea what happened there.

I finished him! Matsui Gou on a bridge under the full moon and blood. You know his obsession with it. I'm in love how the moon and the water came out!! I never manage to get these kind of effects!

I'm still not the best at using acrylics, but I think I'm slowly getting there.

So I finally finished painting this Oodenta Mitsuyo! The first proper painting for 2025... and it took far longer than I expected since uhm something I forgot to do, some accidents and yeah a little too little natural daylight xD The days are still too short so I mostly can work on these kinds of paintings during the weekends. So this is a semi realistic painting of Musical Touken Ranbu's version of Oodenta Mitsuyo who's played by Raita-san. It's a mixed media painting so you can see a lot of different paints here. The base is watercolour and ink but I also used coloured pencils and acrylics. The wild Yamabuki (kerria japonica) are painted with perlecent paints while the domesticated ones are done in watercolour.

Did it turn out as I wanted? No. Do I like it anyway? Yes. Do I want to try harder next time? Hell yeah x'D

Once more, Happy New Year everyone! I'm starting the year strong with a new favourite Touken Ranbu ship Oodenta Mitsuyo and Suishinshi Masahide. But hear me out here, when I and some of my friends had our annual online meeting and I started to draw this, there was this plot going on:

Suishinshi brought freshly made Ichigo Daifuku over to Oodenta's store house. Of course the Ichigo Daifuku were made by Kuwana Gou and Shokudaikiri Mitsutada, but Suishinshi is not the type to enjoy sweets on his own and so his first intuition is to go over to Oodenta. Also because his brother Sohayanotsurugi is on a survey mission with Minamoto Kiyomaro. Also it's new year of course so equipped with all those delicious treats and a New Year's decoration which he puts on the Kotatsu in Oodenta's overall cold storehouse, Suishinshi bursts inn and is all sunshine and happy and maybe also a little awkward - still he is little Suishinshi Masahide right?! Not only did they get close on a mission of defeating Taira no Masakado, they also helped Kotegiri Gou to put on a stage play so there's somehow something between them. Probably more details happened than they would admit to others. Just trust me there. Oodenta sees the Kadomatsu and goes on to an (romantic?) attack on Suishinshi because he actually mixes up the custom of kissing someone under the mistletoe on Christmas.

No, we spend not enough thought how this came into action 😂 Also I hate drawing hands so so so passionately much.

So here the summary of my favourite pieces this year - the giant painting of Mikazuki Munechika is not counted here.That has a special place.

For next year I hope again for some progress and of course mor variation and diversity in my art. More combinations of landscape and characters in my art. That would be awesome :3

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The year 2024 is almost over! Well done getting though it! I wish you all a good sliding into the new year of 2025. It's the Year of the Snake and the type of snake is a wood snake for this circle.

This little ink drawing of Hakusan Yoshimitsu might be one of the last pieces this year… when we think of that 2024 is going to die tomorrow :'D

Hakusan Yoshimitsu, a tsurugi made by the swordsmith Awataguchi Yoshimitsu. The tsurugi was once owned by Tokugawa Iemitsu who was wedd to Maeda Mitsutaka. Here, Hakusan is together with his little fox familiar which is also one of the reasons I really like the personification design of Hakusan. But also look at those sleeves okay?

Hakusan is held in the Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of Art and has a length of 34,8 centimetres.

In the Touken Ranbu games and adaptations thereof Hakusan is considered brothers with the Toushirou tantous and also Ichigou Hitofuri although being a little conscious about it. His special abilities is that he can heal damage of other Touken Danshi.
