Finally getting around to answering this. I have so many talented friends, I recommend all of their AUs.

@bowl-of-shortness has a Necromancer AU that is incredible. They've done an amazing job with the world building and character development and the relationships they built into the story. They also did it in ask blog form so you can interact with the characters and the story which is super fun :) @rwby-necromancer-au

@bafflement's Deaged Oz AU is a super cool and interesting concept that they have so many neat ideas developed for!

Every AU and design @cara-kira and @yoomschoocs have come up with are incredible, but I will highlight their God of War AU because the designs are 👌👌👌

@theangelofangst has an Ozpin Lives AU that tugs at my heart strings everytime and is such an awesome take on the idea that Oz survived the Fall.

@ozpins-coffeemug has an awesome AU with their OCs that has SO MUCH ANGST and so much thought put into it, I love it to pieces (regardless of how long it's been since it's been updated 😝)

I know I probably forgot something important, but I'm obsessed with all of these AUs and I freaking love them so much.

I love the headcanon that Ozpin's merge was pretty uneventful. I think it also makes sense in a way?

Remnant was at peace for 80 years, so he had time to adjust and get used to the whole reincarnation thing without the world crumbling down around him.

But Oscar doesn't have that luxury. Because Ozpin was literally killed at the start of this new war. And now Ozpin is simultaneously the only person who can understand what Oscar is going through without fully being able to help him through it.

Because Ozpin had time and peace and rest. He was able to accept the merge at his own pace. But now Salem is knocking on their door, and Oscar doesn't have the privilege of taking his time.

Chapter 10: What the Past Can Teach Us

Story Summary: Ozpin works tirelessly in his pursuit: to make Beacon of Hope a safe place for kids to grow up. With a bigger location and more kids to take care of, Ozpin starts to feel the weight of responsibility crushing him, and he plans to carry the whole thing himself.

For Qrow, volunteering for Beacon of Hope had only one purpose: to get Summer off his back for a little while. When he meets the polite, friendly, and handsome man in charge, he wonders if he could actually get something out of this whole ordeal after all.

With Qrow’s support, maybe Oz will be able to reach his goal of turning this house into a home.

Chapter 10 Preview

I just wanted to start sharing some highlights from this story :D I have a lot of favorite scenes and lines, so here is one of them! I loved writing Summer's "pep talk" with Qrow in this chapter 🙈

“Setting us up? Is that what you call this? You’ve only known for a week.”

Summer swallowed her food before answering, “Yeah, and a week later you have a date. How long did it take you to ask him out again?”

Qrow scoffed, “Whatever.”

“Face it, Qrow. You never would have asked him if it weren’t for me.”

Qrow shook his head and ran a hand through his hair.

He couldn’t fight back because she was right. Qrow had accepted the fact that he wasn’t good enough for Oz. For three years, he went on every date that Summer set up for him because he thought he needed to move on. Find someone else. Let Oz find his own happiness. It was the right thing to do if he really cared about him.

It took him three years to ask the man out on one date.

It took Summer one week to convince him that he at least had to ask before ‘moving on.’ He was mourning something that hadn’t died, because he was too scared to give it a chance to grow.

Because Qrow had already accepted that he wasn’t good enough for Oz.
