This is happening. I just finished season 3, so I got really into demon slayer again. I've also been seeing a lot of Demon! Zenitsu AUs. It got me inspired. It's also a role swap.

Kaigaku and Zenitsu got a long well in the beginning. It took them a while to get there. At first, Kaigaku was cold and distant, but the wall he built eventually started breaking due to Zenitsu's kindness.

It was all going so well until the night when Kaigaku was walking home from final selection. Zenitsu runs to him crying about how a demon got into the orchard and Kuwajima told him to run and get help from Demon Slayers. Kaigaku runs towards the house instead of going to get Slayers like Kuwajima asked. When they get back to the house their trainer is already dead and the demon is gone.

Kaigaku and Zenitsu bury their Grandfather under the tree at the top of the hill. After hours of silence Kaigaku basically asks Zenitsu why he left and says that he should've stayed and fought because maybe then Kuwajima would've been alive. Every time Zenitsu tries to defend himself Kaigaku refutes it with something else. From that point on their relationship becomes strained once more and it's like they're back to square one. Kaigaku blames himself for not being there, but he projects a lot of that onto Zenitsu.

Zenitsu takes a lot of nightly walks. It gives him peace of mind and he doesn't have to hear Kaigaku's thoughts. He hears the most terrifying and suffocating sound when he finds himself alone. Upper moon one is there because he heard of a demon slayer with a lot of potential that was trained under a former hashira. Zenitsu knows he's talking about Kaigaku, but he claims that he was the only one training under kuwajima in order to save him. Kokushibo turns Zenitsu into a demon and then leaves, saying if the boy can survive a month as a demon he'd come back to train him.

Kaigaku waits up for Zenitsu to come back, but he never does. He goes out to look for him. He expects to find Zenitsu sleeping under a peach tree, however he finds Zenitsu doubled over. When Zenitsu looks up Kaigaku sees that the whites of his eyes had turned black, except for a yellow slit in the middle. He knows in that moment that Zenitsu had turned into a demon. Kaigaku can't bring himself to behead someone he once thought of as a brother. Zenitsu attacks him and almost kills him.

When Kaigaku awakens again he's healing in the butterfly house. Kaigaku has a lot of time to reflect during his recovery. He has many regrets about how they both left off, but he comes to the realization that he can't hesitate next time he sees Zenitsu.

He begins to experience something strange. You know how sometimes in shows a character from someone's past will show up to talk to them, but it's all in their head? Basically that. Kaigaku sees a human version of Zenitsu and he says so many things that the real Zenitsu would never say. He knows none of it is real, but it feels so real and those words are making an impact on him. "You should've been there." "This is all your fault." All the things that Kaigaku regrets saying to Zenitsu is coming back to bite him. He doesn't tell anyone about it because he feels like he deserves it in some sense. I refer to him as Mind Zenitsu.

Once he recovers he ends up meeting Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Inosuke. At first he's a little uncomfortable around Nezuko because of what happened to his own sibling and Mind Zenitsu is still yelling at him. He gets closer with all of them over time.

Eventually Kaigaku does meet the real Zenitsu again. He's different though. True, he does feel more powerful, but more importantly he seems almost emotionless. Far from the Zenitsu he knew. Kaigaku tries to talk with him. He talks about how sorry he is, the regrets he thought about, and how putting the blonde to rest would be the right thing to do.

Zenitsu only has one thing to say to all of this: "I don't know who you are or what you're talking about."

This is the moment Kaigaku realizes that Zenitsu doesn't remember anything about his life as a human. Zenitsu didn't just lose his humanity, he also lost himself. They fight and are separated once again with Kaigaku being unable to kill him. Mind Zenitsu gets worse with putting guilt onto Kaigaku.

Kaigaku goes through some character development. Actually talking to Mind Zenitsu instead of letting the boy yell at him. They actually have a conversation and Kaigaku learns not to put so much blame on himself. Mind Zenitsu fades away and for once everything feels silent.

When Zenitsu sees Kaigaku again he's made it to the rank of Upper Moon Six. After a very painful fight Kaigaku beheads Zenitsu. The blonde starts to turn into dust and he can finally remember his human life and starts crying and can not stop apologizing. Kaigaku is there talking to him and comforting him to the end.

When he gets to the afterlife he sees Kuwajima and starts apologizing for not being able to save him, becoming a demon, just everything. Kuwajima hugs Zenitsu and forgives him. For the first time in forever Zenitsu feels at peace.

Once Muzan is defeated Kaigaku finally gets time to mourn, but he is so happy that he still has his friends their to help him through it all.

Wow! This was a long one. Let me know if you have any ideas or if you have any questions about the AU. I think I'll call it the Blame AU. It's the only name I can come up with, so that's the one I'm using.

Some more ideas for spiderman zenitsu au

🕸Zenitsu usually goes to Tanjiro's house to tend to his wounds,Tanjiro doesn't know how to lie but he always does his best when Kaigaku asks what Zenitsu might be hiding about.

🕸just like peter parker, zenitsu uses his powers and speed for photography and getting a job based on that, probably his j.jonah jason is sanemi.

🕸speaking of sanemi, zenitsu was obviously very afraid of him when he first came to work as his photographer, but he lost much of his fear after an incident in which sanemi protected him from a villain who had invaded the place looking for spiderman.

🕸zenitsu discovered his ability to stick to surfaces when he was running from some bullies, he basically ended up climbing a super high surface in seconds (although he was also struck by lightning)

🕸nezuko is his Mary jane,you cant say its not.

🕸Genya usually makes alibis for zenitsu in case of emergency, inosuke is usually the one who confirms them and tanjiro makes them credible (besides he is the only one of zenitsu's friends that kaigaku would believe because he is a good influence).

🕸zenitsu's villains are probably the spider family (from natagumo mountain) as everyday enemies, i feel like akaza would be sandman (who is looking for money to support his sick wife koyuki), enmu would be mysterio, gyutaro as carnage or venom ,daki would be black cat or silver sable, sekido would be electro, urogi would be the vulture, aizetsu would be the scorpion ,karaku would probably be the green goblin and rui can be dr octopus.

I meant to answer this sooner. Oh, wow! I love these ideas.

The image of Tanjiro trying to cover for Zenitsu is cracking me up. It’s so funny that Inosuke has to be the reliable one for excuses here.

I love all the villain ideas too. My favorite is probably Rui as Doc Oct.

This idea was in my head for so much time and i wanted to share it with this blog:basically spiderman au with zenitsu as spiderman and kaigaku as a Police official that want spiderman to go to jail,gramps is somewhat uncle ben figure and zenitsu has tries to keep hidden his other identity from his Police brother with help of tanjiro/inosuke/genya.

probably zenitsu, like certain spiders, can change his dark hair color to yellow, this helps him to keep his identity hidden in a better way

Angst.

I don’t know if you’re asking me to write angst or commenting on how angst my fic ideas are. Either way I appreciate it! Please clarify for me.

Hello! It’s been a while since I posted on here! It’s been hard keeping up with motivation lately, however I am back and I cannot be stopped. I made another AU!

I call this one the Eyes & Ears AU. You’ll see why.

I imagined this taking place before Zenitsu met Tanjiro, but after final selection. Zenitsu and Kaigaku get paired up for a mission together. This particular demon has a special blood art that takes away one of the senses. Both of them get hit with it.

Zenitsu panicks when he can’t see anything. He heard Kaigaku run after the demon. Now he’s alone in complete darkness. After a few minutes he hears Kaigaku coming closer. He tried his best to explain to his senior what happened. When Kaigaku says, “I can’t hear what you’re saying,” Zenitsu cries and reaches out to hold the only person of comfort at the moment.

Kaigaku doesn’t notice the change at first because he’s too busy on trying to track down the demon, which leaves Zenitsu behind in the forest. Kaigaku eventually loses the demon. He realizes that he has to go back for Zenitsu. He blames Zenitsu’s cowardice on why he didn’t follow. He finally realizes how quiet it is when he can’t hear the sound of his own voice. Kaigaku wants to panick, but knows that he’s the responsible one and should prioritize finding Zenitsu. Then he can explain what’s going on. He finds the younger one clutching his sword, wandering the forest, and continuously bumping into things. As Kaigaku approaches he can see Zenitsu urgently trying to tell him something. Kaigaku thinks he is saying, “I can’t hear what you’re saying.” Zenitsu really breaks down after that and reaches out for him. Kaigaku lets him because he feels like he has no other choice.

They learn ways to live with they’re new disabilities. Kaigaku teaches himself sign language and later teaches Zenitsu. Kaigaku talks out loud for him, although he’s not always aware of how loud he’s being. Zenitsu learns how to read braille. They learn how to become each other’s eyes and ears. Their mission is to kill the demon that took their senses.

Once it’s discovered that Nezuko can erase other demon blood arts they decide to try it.

If it works then they’ll probably celebrate at first. It’ll be weird for the both of them at first. They were getting used to living without their senses and just got them back. They still communicate is sign language sometimes out of habit.

If Nezuko’s blood doesn’t heal them then they’ll just stick with the original plan. They’ll kill the demon and see if anything happens.

Arcane Spoilers!!!!

I just finished binge watching Arcane on Netflix and of course the moment I saw a sibling relationship my brain went, “How can we fit Kaigaku and Zenitsu into this!?”

I’ve thought about this for like a like a day because I watched the whole thing in under 24 hours. I’ve decided to make some head canons hence the spoiler warning. There are major spoilers for the Arcane series.

Some roles I’ve planned out:

- Kaigaku is in the role of Violet. Zenitsu has the role of Jinx. It may not fit their personalities, but I think it goes with the backstory and age differences. (Also I think I deserve a little bit of unhinged Zenitsu, as a treat.)

-Mylo is Sanemi. Genya is Claggor. I’m sorry Shinazagawa fans. I was originally going to put Gyutaro and Ume here, but I came up with a different role for them. Sanemi is pretty mean, so I saw him fitting into Mylo’s role. I thought it would fit better compared to other characters.

-I think Himejima would fit pretty well for the role of Vander. He’s a strong guy doing his best to protect a bunch orphans. The role was practically made for him.

-I decided to do Muzan for Silco. They’re both bad guys with a cool character designs and essentially run the evil in the world.

-Gyutaro is Caitlyn. He’s pretty smart and I honestly kind of like the Gyutaro and Kaigaku ship even though they’ve never met in canon (yes, I am assuming that Caitlyn and Vi are together).

-I made Ume part of the Council because i could honestly see her charming and threatening her way to the top. Also it’s important that Caitlyn had ties to the Council in the show.

-I think either Tanjiro or Inosuke should be Ekko. They’re both around Zenitsu’s age and were friends with him. Maybe I can split the role somehow.

Other head cannons:

-Zenitsu takes the name Curse after episode 3. I just thought it should be different from Jinx.

-Zenitsu has never doubted his hearing before, so when he starts to have the hallucinations and mental breakdowns he 100% believes it’s actually happening. His mind can still remember what everyone’s box of happiness sounds like, so he thinks he’s hearing it.

-Instead of a dancing monkey bomb it was a wind up sparrow.

-I thought of what I should make Zenitsu’s symbol and I eventually decided on a peach. I couldn’t figure out how to explain it, so I made a quick sketch.

-Episode 4+ Zenitsu has his hair in a long ponytail.

-Kaigaku still fistfights a lot, however is weapon of choice is a katana, not gauntlets.

-I think the shimmer should be red instead of pumpkin this au because it reminds of Muzan’s blood.

-The shimmer gives people temporary demon looks/powers.

-In the series Jinx gets purple eyes after the shimmer is used to save her life. Zenitsu gets claws, sharper teeth, and slit pupils.

-Like how Violet is called Vi, Kaigaku is called Kai.

-Kaigaku has a good relationship with Zenitsu for the most part. He does scold his little brother for making stupid decisions. That doesn’t change when Zenitsu becomes Curse.

I don’t have much this idea, but I think it’s cute. It’s also a bit angsty tbh. I watched Encanto again recently and I just love it! Everyone’s gifts are awesome. I kept thinking about how Zenitsu’s hearing is similar to Dolores’s gift. I thought what if I made an au where it was a gift and here we are!

That’s not all. You know that if Zenitsu had a gift then I just had to give Kaigaku a gift as well. I played around with the idea a little bit and I really like the idea of Kaigaku’s emotions affecting the weather. First of all, they’re known as the thunder brothers. I just had to do it. Secondly, I just love the idea of a little rain cloud following him around whenever he gets grumpy.

Zenitsu: Hey, Kaigaku.

Kaigaku: What is it? I’m not in a very good mood today.

Zenitsu: I know. Do you think you could cheer up a little, so we don’t have to train in the pouring rain?

They were both soaked after that incident.

Now, here’s the angsty idea I thought of recently. Kaigaku was in a really bad mood after having a fight with Zenitsu. He learns later that Zenitsu was struck by lightning. Gramps reassures him that he was too far away for it to have been his lightning, however Kaigaku can’t shake the feeling that it was his fault. Thankfully Zenitsu’s okay. During the few days he was unconscious he missed a few of Kaigaku’s “worry winds”. Kaigaku denies that those even happened.

I also think it would be really frustrating for Kaigaku because he can’t hide his emotions. He would just end up trying to suppress them. He knows that it’s not healthy. He knows Gramps and Zenitsu don’t necessarily mind bad weather every now and then, but Kaigaku does it anyway.
