Redraw from The Owl House Season 3, Episode 2! This was such a good episode, and I’m not emotionally ready for it to end. I also just need to vent about it, but that’ll be under the cut for those who don’t wanna read about me being angry at Disney

I watched the new episode of the owl house lastnight and I just need to vent… first off. None of this is a reflection on Dana Terrace or the rest of the crew, because they’ve managed to do so much in such a short amount of time and put out what I believe is one of the best shows, animated or otherwise, out there.

But I think that’s just it, seeing what Dana and the rest of the crew have been able to do in essentially 2 1/2 seasons makes me so angry at Disney, because I just think about how much more they could have done if they had more time. Like, they clearly had so much worldbuilding for this beautiful world they created, they had so much story left to tell between Belos, the Collector, the Titans, the human realm. They had so many plans to explore their characters: like willow learning it’s okay to lean on her friends, Hunter navigating his trauma from Belos and learning how to be a kid, and that he’s more than a grimwalker. Amity navigating her relationship with her family, Luz learning to be a witch and trying to decide if she wants to go home or stay in the human realm, Camilla coming to understand her daughter instead of trying to change her. Eda learning to live with his curse. I could honestly go on and on

Like, they’re doing all that with the short amount of time they have left, and don’t get me wrong given the circumstances they’re doing a GREAT job, but I just wish they had more time to tell this story that they clearly put so much time, thought, and love into. I wanna see a whole arc just about willow learning that being strong means leaning on people who love you, I wanna see at least a full episode just about Hunter coming to terms with his trauma and learning how to live as himself, not a grimwalker. I would love a whole season just talking about the story of Belos and his brother. Hell I would even love more filler episodes of what the gang did in the human realm over summer and beach episodes and just them having fun.

Like, these three finale episodes are satisfying as hell, and are doing a great job of touching on all those things, but I will never forgive Disney for cutting this show before it really had a chance to get started. I will never forgive Disney for denying this crew the time they deserved to tell this beautiful and complex story that they clearly worked so hard on. It deserved more.
