Gonna really try to get in the habit of at least posting my daily sketches.

No particular theme, really, just whatever moves my pencil that day, but do expect stupid cartoons and fantasy art.

Today's sketch: Tower Guard of the Keep

Been digging back into my OSR solo game, based on the B1-B12 D&D modules. It's always inspiring for me.

Finally gave old Cold Bones a body, after I don't know how long as just a torso. Funny this skeleton has become something of a personal mascot.

I've been working on a lot of paper mini and OSR stuff lately, along with other cartooning stuff. Excited to share, so keep an eye out for it!

I finally have access to a scanner.

Space Hamsters! A classic prompt from Mark Kistler. I'm not sure when I started drawing it, but it got set aside and forgotten. It's too fun to leave unfinished, so I finished it when I found it.

"In the murky depths of the unlit passageway, you encounter a troupe of patrolling orcs."

Orcs have been softened a bit too much over the years. They're a bit too human these days. While I understand the appeal of making them into noble warrior tusky boys, a world where the dark is dangerous should have dangerous dark-dwellers. I wasn't all that into the piggy orcs of the old school, either. My take on orcs is that they're manifestations of hate and chaos, gestated through the decomposing remnants of ancient magic in the blood-soaked earth at places of slaughter. They are a curse upon humanity, caused by humanity, and they hate nothing more than humanity.

Y'know what? Eff it; it's Halloween now. Summer was kinda a dud. Halloween now until Thanksgiving. Pumpkin Spice Everything until Spring. Spooky-ookie-ookie. Here's a ghost. Have it.

First page of my comic, Malu, inked and inked again. It’s an adaptation of a Golden Age comic that’s in the public domain. I’m updating it, fleshing out the narrative and world-building that’s been previously established, and giving it a turn toward dark fantasy.
