Sorry everyone for the 3 month hiatus. It's been a wild time lately.

Fire dragons are known for their strength and anger. They're the choice for war dragons and guards. They have a fire spine that does not burn unless the dragon is angered. Then, the cold fire turns into an inferno. Some inexperienced riders have burned alive. They wear fire caps to mask the light during the nighttime and to prevent the fire from burning.

Fire dragons are fierce friends, fiercely loyal and will go to the ends of the earth for their friends and family.

Aside from messenger wyverns, fire dragons are the fastest dragons. Known for speed and endurance, they can fly for hours, sometimes from sun up to sun down. (With a lot of practice and training, of course.)

As I dive into researching signs of fear for my horror WIP, I wanted to share some of the most compelling and visceral reactions I’ve come across. Whether you’re writing a chilling scene or crafting a character’s panic, these 20 signs of fear can help bring tension and realism to your story.

Physical Reactions

Hyperventilating — sucking in air but never feeling like it’s enough

Chest tightens — feels like a weight or hands pressing down

Limbs shaking violently, knees buckling

Complete loss of muscle control — collapsing or unable to stand

Cold sweat soaking through clothes

Heart hammering so hard they feel it in their throat or head

Tunnel vision — the world narrowing down to one terrifying focal point

Ringing in the ears or sudden deafness, like the world drops away

Dizziness / feeling faint / vision blurring

Dry mouth — unable to speak or even scream

Uncontrollable Behavior

Screaming / sobbing / gasping — involuntary vocal outbursts

writing advice for characters with a missing eye: dear God does losing an eyes function fuck up your neck. Ever since mine crapped out I've been slowly and unconsciously shifting towards holding my head at an angle to put the good eye closer to the center. and human necks. are not meant to accommodate that sorta thing.

Trained by her father, the Top Daso Verta of Torrynia, since she could stand, Lydia had no need for friends or companions. She had her sister, her parents, and herself. She trained every day with her father and his dragon and even accompanied him to Council meetings.

When she and her sister, Sapphire, were new-wings, their mother became sick with the "eating disease." It was an incurable disease where your organs started failing, the light in you died, and you become weak, frail, and in so much pain, you beg the gods to take you.

And Lydia was there through it all. The only peace she had was fighting and training. After their mother died, Lydia's spirit died with her. She hid herself from the world, from her sister and from her father.

Many years later, she met Sapphire's new friend. Lydia knew this boy, Glacier, ran in Sapphire's shady friends circle. Soon, he invited Lydia out to all sorts of events.

And eventually, they fell in love.

After finding out that Glacier and Sapphire had secretly been thieves, Lydia's father banished Glacier. Before he left, all he wanted was one more night with Lydia.

25 years later, he came back....

Lydia never forgave him when after he left an hour later.
