ciruelabob :
A lot of people have shown an interest in adding gif effects to their edits but I know itâs hard to find nice effects just using google search (also I got a mean anon saying I was hoarding things so others wouldnât use them- so eat crow anon). Here are a ton of links to my favorite gif overlays and a couple of other useful things.
Note: None of these are torrents. Iâve only tried some of the Windows ones so your mileage may vary. If you would like to have a link to my own personal copy of Photoshop CS6, please send me a private message.

JESSICA CHOU Has A YouTube Channel Teaching Women About Basic Vehicle Maintenance
This is quite an interesting YouTube channel concept, and it shows that ⌠Asian chicks kick ass! JESSICA CHOU is a young Asian American woman who has a YouTube channel which basically teaches other girls and women about how to fix their car.
âI think we donât see as many female mechanics because the industry is still so heavily dominated by men. When we think of a mechanic, we think of men. When we see ads or posters of mechanics, we see men. When we see shows about cars, we see men. It will take a long time to change all of this, but in the 10 short months that Iâve been on this journey, Iâve met so many incredible people who are out to change the game.â

Doc, what are the top five items food banks LOVE to receive? I'm doing a collection soon and want to ask for specifics.
MONEY. WE WANT MONEY. MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY. WE CAN DO SO MUCH WITH IT. WE HAVE ACCESS TO DEALS YOU COULD NEVER. MONEY
That aside.
Iâm only going to talk about food items but if your food bank takes personal items, a lot of times diapers, feminine hygiene products, etc, are very very welcome.Â
1) Canned chicken and beefÂ

looooooove this stuff. Itâs expensive, it lasts forever, it tastes good and it can be used a variety of ways. This stuff is fucking catnip to food banks, itâs so hard for us to provide proteins.Â
2) Fancy nut butters

Peanut butter is a standby for food banks as a shelf-stable inexpensive protein, but if we have a family with a kid with a peanut allergy thatâs not going to work. Non-peanut butters are expensive and itâs something we hardly ever see donated. (we also like peanut butter, but thatâs easier for us to buy ourselves than non-peanut butters)
3) Canned or packaged tuna
You may notice a trend here in shelf-stable proteins. And yeah. Thatâs basically it, so Iâm not going to keep harping on it. But this stuff is a godsend.Â
4) Easy breakfast things for kids (Granola bars, instant oatmeal, and the like)Â
Whatever Donald Trump tells you, most people who get food from food banks are actually working their asses off and so they have to leave Obama to raise their baby or whatever, and they donât have a lot of time in the morning. Things like this that kids can make for themselves are expensive. (Another trend you may be noticingâdonate shit that costs a lot of money. That helps us more than all the shitty green bean cans in the world) But they are so helpful for busy working families where the parents may not have a set schedule and sometimes little Amanda is making her own breakfast before she runs off to school. Donât let kids go to school hungry.Â
5) Shelf-stable juice

This is one people never think of! But if you show up with a bunch of (preferably reduced sugar stuff) bottles of juice at my door, oh man, you are gonna get so many check mark and okay hand emoticons. This stuff is great for kids, and it doesnât require refrigeration until itâs opened, so it works great for food drives.Â

Since once in a blue moon I actually discover a decent rule for adulting, and since I know I have followers a few years younger than me who are just entering the workforce, I want to tell you about a very important phrase.Â
âI wonât be available.â
Imagine youâre at work and your boss asks you to come in on Saturday. Saturday is usually your day offâcoming in Saturdays is not an obligation to keep your job. Maybe you were going to watch a movie with a friend, or maybe you were just going to lie in bed and eat ice cream for eight hours, but either way you really, really donât want to give up your day off.
If you consider yourself a millennial youâve probably been raised to believe you need to justify not being constantly at work. And if youâre a gen-Z kid youâre likely getting the same toxic messages that we did. So in a situation like that, you might be inclined to do one of three things:
Tell your boss youâd rather not give up your day off. Cave when they pressure you to come in anyway, since youâre not doing anything important.
Tell your boss youâd rather not give up your day off. Over-apologize and worry that you looked bad/unprofessional.
Lie and say youâve got a doctorâs appointment or some other activity that feels like an adequate justification for not working.
The fact is, it doesnât matter to your boss whether youâre having open heart surgery or watching anime in your underwear on Saturday. The only thing that affects them is the fact that you wonât be at work. So telling them why you wonât be at work only gives them reason to try and pressure you to come in anyway.
If you say âI wonât be available,â giving no further information, youâd be surprised how often thatâs enough. Be polite and sympathetic in your tone, maybe even say âsorry, but I wonât be available.â But donât make an excuse. If your boss is a professional individual, theyâll accept that as a ânoâ and try to find someone else.Â
But bosses arenât always professional. Sometimes theyâre whiny little tyrants. So, what if they pressure you further? The answer isâpolitely and sympathetically give them no further information.
âAre you sure youâre not available?â âSorry, but yes.â
âWhy wonât you be available?â âI have a prior commitment.â (Which you do, even if itâs only to yourself.)
âWhatâs your prior commitment?â âSorry, but thatâs kind of personal.â
âCan you reschedule it?â âIâm afraid not. Maybe someone else can come in?â
If you donât give them anything to work with, they canât pressure you into going beyond your obligations as an employee. And when they realize that, theyâll also realize they have to find someone else to come in and move on.

fat bodies tutorial!
ALRIGHT SO my pal @kalreyno wanted help with drawing fat characters and as a fat artist i felt like i could give a bit of helpful insight on that. thereâs also been a lot of complaining about âboo hoo fat characters are hard to draw so i canât include them in my work Everâ goin on lately so if thatâs your case then this is for you too!! and also just for anyone who would like help with fat bodies in general, ofc. anyway, letâs get this show on the road!!
letâs start with some common misconceptions. these are the two main attempts at chubby bodies i run into, so iâll focus on them.Â
the Anime Chubby i see everywhere, and itâs justâŚâŚso wrong in many ways. first of all, there is almost no additional body fat compared to your average thin character - except for where itâs added in âattractiveâ places (breasts, hips, thighs). the breasts are way too perky, and donât have the realistic shape fat would give them (though how to draw accurate breasts is another tutorial all on its own lmao). there is still a thigh gap, which usually only happens in very thin people, and bones are still visible on the surface of the skin, which also rarely happens in fat people.
the Michelin Man is better in some ways, but still not that great. itâs a slightly better attempt, but basically all thatâs done there is taking a thin character and blowing them up, while giving no thought to fat distribution. the thigh gap is usually still present, and they look a lot more hard than soft - and fat is very soft and pliable.
hereâs a chart on how fat usually distributes (if you canât read my messy writing, â1. next to no fat, 2. moderate amount, 3. most of the fat distributionâ). basically, the more muscle an area has, the more prone it is to develop fat, such as the abdomen, thighs, and upper arms. itâs important to note that fat sits on top of muscle, and that it does distribute in different levels, and not evenly across the body as shown in the Michelin Man.Â
now, hereâs an accurate fat body with all of that kept in mind!! notice how the fat isnât only kept to aesthetically pleasing areas, and how it sits realistically on the characterâs body. their breasts sag a lot more, which happens even in thin people with larger breasts, and the nipples are pointing more downwards than straight out. there is no thigh gap in sight, there are no bones in sight, and most importantly, they have fat rolls, which are very important in drawing a convincing fat character!! as far as i know iâve never met a single person with no rolls at all, and everyone has them, whether thin or fat - theyâre just more prominent and more consistently present in fat people. pay close attention to where they are and how theyâre shaped.
here are a couple of drawings showing how fat is affected when sitting vs stretching. as seen in the first, the fat specifically on the stomach is distributed a lot more evenly and stretched out, so it becomes âflatterâ. the love handles are still pretty visible, though, as well as the fat on the thighs and arms. the breasts are raised with the shoulders, and the fat on the shoulders and near the neck forms rolls as itâs being pushed together.Â
in the second, there is a lot less room for distribution, so the fat is all pushed together. the breasts sag and the stomach forms rolls and spills into the lap. a good analogy for the way fat works is to liken it to a water balloon, and thinking of how its shape would change when resting flat on a surface, hanging off of a ledge, held upright, etc.
here are a few extra tips i find a lot of people miss!
first on the top is the hip/pubic region. the first circle is showing the way the bellybutton is folded in fat people, as opposed to stretched out in thinner people. the second is the stomach fat spilling over onto the pubic region and creating a separation in the two areas, which is something thatâs missing in a lot of art. in addition, the pubic mound also gains fat, making it round as seen in the profile drawing i did up there (iâve heard people refer to it as fupa?). the last in the hip region is the lack of a thigh gap. i canât stress this enough!!!! if youâre trying to draw a convincing fat character, make sure their thighs are pretty much always touching!! for reference, mine literally donât separate until my feet are about 2ft from each other.
the bottom right is showing the double chin, which a lot of people are afraid to draw!! fat does distribute itself here too, and thereâs nothing wrong with it, so donât feel like you shouldnât give fat characters a double chin in your work for fear of it looking like a caricature.
in the bottom middle, itâs showing how fat affects different types of breasts with the presence of more or less breast tissue.Â
lastly, at the very right are stretch marks with their usual locations and directions, which i also canât stress enough!!!!! i sometimes forget to add them honestly, but theyâre so important in accurately portraying fat characters, as they literally come from the skin being stretched from fat being gained (and theyâre also just rlly neat lookin like why wouldnât you lmao). some people have less and some people have more, feel free to experiment with them!
the last thing is body types!! there isnât one single way for a person to be fat, so feel free to experiment with shapes once youâve learned the basics!!Â
so there you have it, a tutorial on how to draw chubs!! now go forth and make some accurate fanart or some rad fat characters, because the world could always use more of both. hmu if you have any questions or concerns, and thanks for reading!!
EDIT: someone pointed out the bad wording in the tutorial. thank you for bringing it to my attention and sorry for offending anybody. iâve updated the tut, so please reblog this one!

This is all really good advice!
One comment on #10, though. I'm a college-level writing tutor, and while easybib does give decent outlines for citations, there's still a fair bit it gets wrong! Instead, we refer students to the Purdue Owl Writing Lab Website: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/01/
The cite gives accurate information on how to cite after the 2016 MLA update, and includes citation references for weird resources like interviews or twitter posts, stuff that school doesn't always teach you! If you follow the links it also helps with APA and other citations as well.
Hoe Tips: School and Studying
Iâm currently in PA school with close to a 4.0 GPA, and with college and back to school starting up, Iâm dropping some tips for y'all. A hoe gotta get bomb ass grades if ya want a bomb ass career and to be successful af. So letâs get itâ¨
1. Write out your notes. Have two notebooks: one for when youâre in class (this one can be messy) and one for at home (this one is the neater one, for color coding, formatting, and all that organizational jazz). Writing things out is proven to enhance memorization 7X more than just reading is.
2. Have a go-to format for your notes. Numbering, bullet points, whatever floats your boat.
3. Type out your notes. I use Google Drive, because it automatically saves all your shit, and you can access your notes via your Google account literally anywhere. Typing out your notes does the same thing writing them out does, as far as helping you review the material.
4. Use Quizlet. Quizlet is a free flashcard website/app that allows you to type in all of your flashcards and definitions, and gives you review options like matching, testing, flashcard mode, and more. This shit made me my high schools valedictorian, no lie.
5. Keep your old quizzes and tests. Often times, teachers will ask similar questions on finals.
6. For math-based subjects, always always always show your work in your notes. I try to explain each step for a math problem in the margins of my notes, and generalize how to do each problem at the end.
7. Do practice problems consistently.
8. For my college hoes: never take an 8 am class. You think you can do it because you did it for high school, but I promise you will regret it. If thereâs no avoiding the 8 am lecture, bring coffee and skip any makeup/hair that day. Sleep is too important.
9. Make flashcards. The night before my exams, I like to try and fit everything I need to know for a specific chapter/topic onto one flashcard, in order to weed out main ideas.
10. For essays, easybib.com is amazing with free citations to avoid any plaigiarism or incorrect bibliographies.
11. Rentđyourđtextbooksđ. Unless your teacher specifically requires you BUY it, you likely wonât need the actual textbook. Buying access codes for the book online is hundreds of dollars cheaper.
12. If you do get your textbooks, a lot of them have chapter summaries at the end of each chapter. Be sure to write out/type out/review those summaries.
13. For science labs, if you are allowed, take pictures of any models or slides you need to know for your exams. Pretty much all labs wonât let you take pictures of cadavers or animal dissections, but plastic models and microscope slides should be fine.
14. If you have a question, ASK YOUR TEACHER. It is better to look stupid in class and get your clarification, than to look stupid when you get your exam back and actually have it count against your grade.
15. Do study groups. I have two nursing friends in some of the same classes as me, and weâd always meet up before exams to go over the material. We would bring dry erase markers and map out shit in empty classrooms, taking turns explaining shit to each other until we nailed it.
16. Try to teach the material. Like I said in #15, study groups are great for this. By teaching the material out loud, you are subconsciously reviewing it yourself. This is a HUGE help.
17. Take breaks. You cannot exhaust yourself and expect to still recall anything you learned.
18. I know everyone does this and thereâs no avoiding it sometimes, but DO NOT CRAM. Gradual learning is most effective.
19. Have one day every week where you donât do any schoolwork. You need time to reboot.
20. Use your phoneâs calendar/task checklist app for all major assignments, due dates, exam dates, study plans, appointments, etc. Set reminders as needed.
21. Charge your phone in another room while studying. No distractions.
22. Rainymood.com is a free website that plays a 30 minute loop of rain sounds. It helps me focus like nothing else, especially in my loud ass household, and every time the loop stops and replays, I know to take a break between 30 minute study sessions.
23. Feel distracted at home when studying? Try studying in a library, cafe, or even at school. I find that going somewhere else to study actually forces me to pay attention to what Iâm doing, for some reason.
24. Reward yourself for good grades. Buy yourself a slice of pizza or a new highlight, have a netflix marathon, go to a party, or take a nap. Whatever conveys a job well done, do it. Itâll make all that studying feel that much greater when itâs over, and youâll have a goal to work towards.
25. Sit in the front of the classroom as often as possible. Youâll be forced to pay attention, be able to actually see the board, hear the instructor better, and youâre more likely to have your questions answered quickly because your teacher will actually see your hand go up.
26. Caffeinate. I prefer tea because itâs healthier, but coffee works too. Ya girl is NOT a morning person, but my morning tea at least helps me pay attention during earlier classes.
27. Keep all of your school shit organized, together, and labelled.
28. Do NOT skip a class just because youâre lazy or donât feel like going. The temptation is real sometimes, but a hoes gonna be pissed when ya see your participation average decline.
29. This may just be a psychological thing, but I love to use the same colored/brand of pen for all of my notes/assignments/tests. It just makes everything seem more uniform, and Iâm able to recall information better.
30. Trouble taking tests? For any multiple choice question, read the question and try to answer it first without reading any of the options. If your answer doesnât match the options, then use process of elimination to find the best answer. For true/false questions, write out justifications for each answer (you can also do this for multiple choice). Youâll be acing your exams in no time.
31. Chewing gum during class/studying, and chewing that same flavor gum during the exam, has been scientifically proven to boost your memory recall.
32. Literally any time you have the opportunity to do extra credit, DO IT. Cherish that shit.
33. If you arenât doing so hot in a particular class (literally any math class for me lol), schedule a private meeting with your professor and go over test questions you missed, or topics you didnât get. If you know your professor is a flop, or canât get an appointment, meet with a tutor or another professor of that same subject. Sometimes another voice can shed new light on a difficult topic.
34. For essays, readable.io critiques your writing for free based on readability, grade level, formality, tone, grammatical errors, etc. Seriously a life saver.
35. Also thesaurus.com is ya bff for fancier words/phrases to make your writing more eloquent
36. Always make an outline for every essay or project to organize what you want to say. This will keep you on track, and help you work around any quotes or sources in you writing to make sure your writing is hella organized.
Thatâs all I can think of for now, please please please feel free to add and share. Enjoy those 4.0âs, hoesđ

Hey kids! Â If youâre a filmmaker, animator, or storyboard artist and you donât know what screen direction is, you might want to read this.
For the record, there are always exceptions to the rule in filmmaking, which is why I pointed out 3 examples here.
Iâve also found that comic books tend to NOT take screen direction as seriously as film does, but Iâm still on the fence if this is wise or not. Â My favorite comics pay close attention to screen direction so as to not confuse the reader.
Good luck!
