On April 18th, 2025 I commented on a Tiktok of Mariah Rose Faith Casillas singing and playing acoustic guitar. I asked for captions. On April 19th, 2025 she commented back saying she tries to make it decently clear that she posts casually and that lyrics are easy to look up. Except I have and had no idea what the song was (and I wasn't told). I responded to her telling her that and that if she's okay with excluding to please just say that. And she ended her last response by saying, "I don't think I'm the content creator for you :)". I blocked her a day later.
Refusing to include captions is ableist - no exceptions.
If you have any public social media account(s), a disabled person will come across it eventually. And it's your responsibility and job to make your content as accessible as possible. Especially when you're asked to.

MCYT Captions Masterlist
Hello there! Due to a recent health issue that left me functionally deaf for several days, and extremely hard of hearing for many more, I decided to make a list of CCs who caption their content. This is in no way to shame CCs who don't, as many have reasons—be they time, money, or something else. This is just a resource for anyone who would like to watch MCYT with captions that are not YouTube's autocaptions! That said, if you don't see your CC on the list under "Captioned Content," check below the cut to see which CCs I've checked who do NOT have captioned content (organized generally by SMP). If you still don't see the person you're looking for, you can always send an ask my way and I'll be sure to add them in the proper category : ] Also, older content may not be captioned; this list accounts for newer content. I have not listed CCs who primarily stream without making videos, as there is no expectation for VODs to be captioned due to their length; listed creators may have VODs that are uncaptioned.

Psaki x Schlossberg Pod Review
As mentioned I was apprehensive queuing up this interview. Because I loved Jack’s approach to social media up until January. Post Baldoni was a shitshow. I appreciated the interview and was interested that while I found the way he presented his strategies and takeaways shortsighted and flawed, I found his insights on the state of the union spot on. Here are some highlights. The good (girl yes!) and the bad (diva down). Trust, I have more thoughts than what I’m saying here so if you wanna gab further my inbox is open.
GIRL YES!
Don’t waste your time qualifying anything on the internet. That’s not the place for it.
+ people need clear reasons and clear messaging for why they should support a party. I think this applies to young and old people. Media literacy is in crisis for all demographics.
Being risk averse is damaging and looses voters, especially young men. For sure- the last time I remember seeing young men really excited about a Democratic candidate was the Bernie Bro movement.
We need a 24/7 social media team active for the Democratic Party / the left like we had during the Kamala campaign. Investing in progressive media is huge, and social media is setting the tone for traditional media. I met a lot of people from Kamala HQ at the DNC and they should 1000% be leading the charge on reaching the public.
Our messaging leans too academic- this is something Jen has been saying on a lot of media outlets that really resonates with me. People who are stressed about affording medication don’t want to hear a lecture on fascism.
We need to start manipulating media in our favor.
+ the one quote I had to write down- “We can’t rely now on the pendulum swinging back and forth. They’re going to produce a tv show, online, every single day that says they’re winning and says a different version of reality. And we can no longer expect people to understand what’s going on and to react to the outcome of policy when it’s completely divorced.” - great stuff
DIVA DOWN
Jack focusing on people who are in on the joke and like his content VS people who are outraged because they’re not in on the joke but not even touching people who get the joke, are aligned with him politically, and still don’t think it’s funny or valuable was a glaring disconnect.
+ furthermore, Jack didn’t make any distinction on his content pre election VS. post election. His post election, specifically post Baldoni content, was significantly more chaotic and vulgar. It didn’t work on me personally but I want to hear the logic behind it and his takeaways from shifting his approach. A LOT of his fans stepped back, way before he deleted his socials.
You’re frustrated with how the left is handling social media? Name names. Be specific. What do you think the Pod Save America guys are doing wrong? What are your thoughts on influencers like Hasan Piker? Bernie Sanders & AOC are great examples of elected officials that use their social platforms effectively- even if you don’t agree with their views they should be mentioned (you can even critique them! People love gossip!).
+ Jack not mentioning any other left influencers when he’s so new to the content creator game came off as self important and out of touch. Like have you even heard of @hellicity_merriman ???
It needs to be said- everything about the Baldoni bit was tone deaf. Presenting the general public being more invested in that trial VS the changing administration as a bad thing overlooks the fact that it was a sexual harassment lawsuit. Reproductive health is under attack and a sexual predator was just elected back into office. It’s not hard to see the link here as to why people, women specifically (who make up the majority of Jack’s fan base), were upset. Also, it’s not something that was forgotten- the Baldoni bit is the most common thing that I see online as what turned folks off to his schtick.
I say this as someone who has a hodgepodge of career/education experience: be specific about the demographics you want to reach and how you can reach them. Having less than a year of content creator experience, not practicing law and never having held public office makes some of this advice hard to take at face value. But growing up in the Democratic Party, going to school with other members of the 1%, and spending months campaigning directly on college campuses is incredibly valuable in its own right. I think Jack speaking more to personal experience can give a clearer picture as to why he’s come to these conclusions.
That’s it for now. Leaving with some wise words from Leo.

I didn’t want to voice my opinion on this because everyone is up in arms about this but I feel like I’ll explode if I keep it in so I’m just gonna say it here. It is so fucking hard as an average to moderate to curvy to plus sized actor to get auditions or be taken seriously let alone book jobs in the entertainment industry. You are under pressure to lose weight ALL THE TIME. Unfortunately a lot of people’s experience is when they lose weight, they book more jobs. Everyone who is saying “Abby’s size doesn’t matter” have you ever been denied a job or an audition or an on-set experience because you were a bigger built person? It sucks, and it’s painful. People are disappointed because they thought they would see a bigger woman on-screen as this huge iconic character, and now the creators are saying that her build wasn’t even integral to this storyline. That’s incredibly hurtful to hear not only as a fan of the show but as someone who would be classified as a bigger woman or person. The tone deaf responses I’ve seen to people expressing their upset about this is astonishing. People are allowed to be upset about that representation of a bigger body type for a woman onscreen being taken away.
The show is still going to be good! Kaitlyn is going to absolutely crush it! She is a fucking amazing actor. It will be one of the biggest shows of the year! They are going to win NUMEROUS awards most likely. That’s not why people are upset, they’re upset because there are so many people out here now, fans and content creators, rallying to say that body size doesn’t matter for this character to groups of people who have constantly been defined only by their body type. That’s invalidating and upsetting, people are going to voice that. Abby is a character that may have helped a lot of people feel less alone or feel more seen in a sea of media that only broadcasts a very specific body type. A lot of women or young girls see themselves in the figures we see in the media. IT MATTERS. So acting like it doesn’t is a disservice to not only yourself but to the media you’re watching. I feel like people are not actually listening to what people are upset about concerning this and it’s pissing me off. You can be critical of a TV show and still enjoy it, that’s how we grow as people and creators. Be kind to people, take a breath and understand where they may be coming from, and chill out.

WHAT I’M CURRENTLY WATCHING
It's been a while since I made one of these lists. But here I am with a new one, including the queer shows I'm currently watching. (As always, they're in alphabetical order, because that's just how I am, lol).
4 Minutes (Thailand):
This show is my current obsession. Period. The content on my blog being 99.999999999% about 4 Minutes right now says it all.
Addicted Heroin (2024) (Thailand):
I've seen both the original as well as Stay With Me, which were both fine. I was curious enough to see what Thailand would do with it, which is why I'm watching. And I'm loving it, so far.
I like Hero, even though he's an idiot. And I like the supporting pair. Hero's dad, though... No.
Battle of the Writers (Thailand):
I still have no idea what this show is about except for a couple of writers, two of which have a history together. But, I got to see three of my Playboy babes, so that's a win for me.
First Note of Love (Taiwan):
I'm spoiled with my beloved Taiwanese QLs right now. I'm even more spoiled that I have yet another very rare show where I can actually listen to the music played and sung without muting the damn thing. And I'm spoiled fucking rotten because I've got Charles Tu on my screen again.
I love everything about this show 5 episodes in, and it makes my Mondays a lot brighter (and my Mondays were fine before this, btw).
Happy of the End (Japan):
I like my Japanese shows dark and complicated. So, I'm obviously loving this.
Hidden Moon (Thailand):
I'm only one episode into this one so I don't really have much to say other than that I like the vibe and that it's visually stunning so far (always a plus for me).
I Hear the Sunspots (Japan):
I'm a bit torn with this one. But I love the representation of the deaf community because my great-grandfather was deaf.
(Kind of unrelated, but kind of not: My great-grandfather didn't know sign language, he just read lips. And he was always most comfortable around people who treated him like just anyone else.)
I Saw You In My Dream (Thailand):
Considering I only started watching this because I saw a gif of Ai wearing a Dream Theater shirt (which was my dad's favorite band before he passed away), I wasn't expecting much. But it's surprisingly enjoyable.
The only critique I have is that they ended this week's episode right in the middle of Ai and Yu kissing. Not that I think they'll go all the way in that particular scene. One of them will probably stop. But cutting the scene there... That's just rude. (I'm joking... But kind of not.)
Kidnap (Thailand):
I'm just one episode in so I don't have much to say other than that I love that Papang is in it. I always need more of him on my screen.
Live in Love (Thailand):
This is another one I'm only one episode into (the second one comes out today), so I don't have much to say other than that I really like the vibe so far.
Monster Next Door (Thailand):
I'm a simple girl. I would watch Big in anything as long as he's kissing boys, because this boy knows how to kiss boys.
The On1y One (Taiwan):
Again, I'm spoiled with my beloved Taiwanese QLs right now. And this one is everything to me.
I knew it would be amazing (it's from the same director who made Your Name Engraved Herein) so, no surprise there. And if I wasn't so busy screaming about 4 Minutes during the little spare time I have now that I'm in the middle of a big art project, I would be screaming about this show.
I only needed 10 seconds of the first episode to be hooked (them looking at each other was all I needed to be sold). 6 episodes in, and I'm in heaven.
Seoul Blues (Korea):
This is from the same creators of Blue Boys and Bad Guy and I'm watching it solely for the chemistry and the... how should I describe it? Mellow vibe?
The Trainee (Thailand):
I had a hard time getting into this one. Mainly because I can't relate to the whole office environment thing (I've always worked for myself). But somewhere around the end of the second episode or the beginning of the third, I was sold. Mostly due to the dynamics between the characters and that everyone is unique and flawed in their own way. Plus, the colors are amazing.
It's been a while since I had at least one new episode to watch every day (I think it was sometime before the summer), so I'm starting to get back to normal again. And I love it here.

Auto Subtitle: The Future of Video Content Accessibility

In today’s digital age, video content dominates the internet. From social media to e-learning platforms, videos are the preferred medium for communication. However, not everyone can consume video content effortlessly. This is where Auto Subtitle technology comes into play, revolutionizing accessibility and engagement.
Auto Subtitle refers to the automatic generation of subtitles using artificial intelligence (AI) and speech recognition. This technology ensures that videos are inclusive, searchable, and more engaging for a global audience. In this article, we will explore how Auto Subtitle works, its benefits, and its impact on content creation.
How Auto Subtitle Works
Auto Subtitle relies on advanced AI algorithms to convert spoken language into written text. The process involves:
Speech Recognition – AI transcribes audio into text in real-time or post-production.
Language Processing – The system identifies different languages and dialects.
Timing Synchronization – Subtitles are matched with the correct timestamps.
Error Correction – Some tools allow manual editing for improved accuracy.
Popular platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Zoom already use Auto Subtitle to enhance user experience.
Benefits of Auto Subtitle
1. Improved Accessibility
Millions of people worldwide are deaf or hard of hearing. Auto Subtitle ensures they can enjoy videos without barriers. Additionally, non-native speakers benefit from reading along with spoken content.
2. Enhanced SEO and Discoverability
Search engines cannot "watch" videos, but they can index text. Auto Subtitle generates searchable text, improving a video’s ranking on Google and YouTube.
3. Increased Engagement
Studies show that videos with subtitles have higher watch times. Many viewers watch videos on mute (e.g., in public spaces), making Auto Subtitle essential for retention.
4. Cost and Time Efficiency
Manual transcription is time-consuming and expensive. Auto Subtitle provides instant results, saving creators hours of work.
5. Multilingual Support
AI-powered Auto Subtitle tools can translate subtitles into multiple languages, broadening audience reach.
Top Auto Subtitle Tools in 2024
1. YouTube Auto Captions
YouTube’s built-in Auto Subtitle feature uses Google’s speech recognition to generate captions. Creators can edit them for better accuracy.
2. Otter.ai
A popular tool for live transcription, Otter.ai is widely used in meetings, interviews, and video production.
3. Rev.com
Rev offers automated and human-generated subtitles, ensuring high precision for professional content.
4. Descript
This tool combines Auto Subtitle with video editing, allowing users to edit videos by modifying the transcribed text.
5. SubtitleBee
An AI-powered platform that generates and translates subtitles in minutes, ideal for social media content.
Challenges of Auto Subtitle Technology
Despite its advantages, Auto Subtitle is not perfect. Some limitations include:
Accuracy Issues – Background noise, accents, and technical jargon can lead to errors.
Lack of Context – AI may misinterpret homophones (e.g., "there" vs. "their").
Limited Customization – Some tools offer minimal formatting options for subtitles.
However, as AI improves, these challenges are gradually being addressed.
The Future of Auto Subtitle
The demand for Auto Subtitle will only grow as video consumption increases. Future advancements may include:
Real-Time Translation – Instant subtitles in multiple languages during live streams.
Emotion Detection – AI could adjust subtitle styles based on the video’s tone (e.g., bold for excitement).
Better Integration – Seamless Auto Subtitle features across all video platforms.

In your most recent post, you suggest in response to people saying that captioning takes time that it only takes about 1-5 minutes to do so.
This may be true for shortform content (only a few minutes long, at maximum) that follows a script (that one could easily copy and paste, then sync to the video) but I don't think your critique that it "only takes 1-5 minutes" holds up for longer content and/or unscripted content, of which you talk about frequently on your blog (i.e, Smosh).
Say I make a video that is about 45 minutes long after editing it down from an hour or an hour-and-a-half of footage. Say this is all unscripted, too---I now have to go through the footage, figure out what all the speakers in the video are saying, and then accurately type that all out and then sync it. Then I have to go back and make sure I didn't mishear anything and that my spelling is correct. After all that (you would have to be very talented to get everything right in one go, without having to consistently pause and rewind) you've already added on a few hours of labor to your video.
The website 3playmedia says that "[a] trained transcriptionist will usually take around 4 to 5 hours to transcribe 1 hour of audio or video content. On the other hand, a first-timer to closed captioning could take anywhere from 20 to 100 hours to transcribe the same amount of content from scratch."
For shortform content, yeah, one would obviously have a much easier/shorter time captioning their videos. But I think it is important to keep in mind that the longer one's video is, the more time-consuming the process of captioning is.
Obviously, people should have access to accurate captions if they need it: but it is also important to keep in mind that captioning is a learned skill that takes time to master. It's why one can go to school and make a professional life out of being a transcriptionist. With just about anyone having the ability to record a video and upload it to a platform such as TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube (among others) I don't think it is reasonable to suggest that *all* users must have professionally captioned videos.
Perhaps this issue could be solved through community captions (like YouTube used to have) where people could volunteer their skills, but then you open the doors to amateurs who will likely have errors. Or, even worse, people who purposely put inaccurate captions for the sake of making jokes or trolling (which sucks).
It isn't a suggestion. It takes me (a deaf human being who doesn't type well all the time and who scripts nothing of my social media content) 1 to 5 minutes at the most.
I also say at the beginning of my article that it was written with social media (aka shortform content) in mind.
But if you want to bring Smosh and YouTube into it: correct captions can be included before posting (ideally on the actual video). After it's filmed captions can be worked on. Then captions are already there when it's posted.
No one has to be a professional in anything to be inclusive. If someone is able to read (and maybe type) they can include captions. Before this post, I have never said anything about "professionally captioned" anything.

Society is so funky
I say we just be unapologetically ourselves. Goof off but in a respectful way (in the way of not putting down anyone else or anything that would be considered Very Serious).
(Lil'. Lil' rant under the cut. Because this is something I encounter and dearly hate.)
'Cause telling someone not to do something that is essentially just them expressing their emotions is, in my opinion, almost akin to going up to someone who is hard of hearing or deaf and holding their hands to stop them from using sign language.
It's like shutting up people, and if there's anything in life I really hate, it's that.
I may not agree with people's opinions but I most definitely do not tell them to stop doing a thing that they do.
Like part of society that people need to understand is that if you are uncomfortable, simply do not interact.
If it's about a Big Thing that's Highly Disrespectful, then yes- that makes sense. You should probably tell the person that they might be crossing lines, but if it's just a goofy thing they say or part of their comedic self then for fucks sake just leave them be.
You'll always find people out there that you don't like, don't agree with, and things that they may say as a joke (like, "i love >insert name<", "that's my spouse", "i want to smooch them") that may make you uncomfortable- but that does not mean you have a right to put them down and tell them to stop.
Yes, there will always be exceptions to this rule. No, do not take this out of context.
I do not mean if someone's being an asshole you don't tell them that they're acting stupid.
I'm just saying that you should not be out here repressing people's personality traits and goofy shenanigans.
( I am also not saying not to tell someone if they are making you uncomfortable- boundaries are very important- but if you are on some Content Creators blog telling them not to do something that they enjoy/is essentially Their Thing at this point, then please just reach maturity so that you can understand that you have the power to click off and leave that Content Creator alone. )

Jason Voorhees is finally dead! Or is he? After being blown to smithereens in a sting operation, the infamous killer’s body is taken to the morgue in Youngstown, Ohio. But Jason can’t be killed so easily, and his still-beating heart possesses the body of the coroner performing his autopsy. The now body-hopping Jason begins hacking and slashing his way back to his stomping ground of Crystal Lake, where his last living relatives, Diana, her daughter Jessica and her newborn baby Stephanie still reside. Only by them can he be truly killed, and only through them can he be reborn, and Jason is determined to return to full power. Can the last remaining Voorheeses survive long enough to finally send Jason to hell for good?

Hiii, could you please make a smut with young white death with a poor reader who can barely afford a house and food and has a disability (blindness and deafness, or just one of them if you prefer like just deafness)??
Sorry if i'm asking for something you're not confortable with or it's not in your best interest.
I love your hc and bullet train content. It's difficult to find some creator that acctualy writes for this character.
Hugs and kisses and have a splendid day 💕💕💕
Of course love!! I’m not exactly familiar with this but I hope you enjoyed this!!
Also i didn’t know if you wanted male or female reader so I made it gender neutral!
You don’t know what to do anymore, at this rate you were sure you weren’t going to make it. Rent and the cost of your medicine went up which made you have to ration food and you had to fire your aid so now you were on your own. It was a struggle to do anything with your deteriorating health. You didn’t want to burden anyone so you cut everyone off. Having had no contact with anyone for the past 3 months. It’s been hard but you didn’t want to seem weak just cause you’re going through something.
You were taken out of your thoughts by a sudden knock at your door, well more like a banging. Luckily you had your hearing aids in so you got up to try and figure out who the hell was banging on your door like a maniac. You opened the door only to here a familiar voice “So this where the fuck you been at?” How’d you dread the day he would find you. Now it wasn’t like you guys were on bad terms or anything but you felt like a burden to him. And that happened to be your closet friend The White Death. You knew everything about him and vice versa.
He was there when you first became sick and you were there when he lost his wife. And when you suddenly disappeared he went into a rage. He constantly destroyed everything. Barking out orders to everyone being even more merciless than usual and nobody was safe from his wrath. But when one of his subordinates told him they finally tracked you down he wasted no time in coming to you.
“What are you doing here?” You were nervous not knowing how he would react. Shockingly you were suddenly pinned to the wall with your thighs around his waist. “You know usually when people leave I kill em. But you… you drove me fucking crazy.” You gulped as you felt him kissing your neck. Even when you guys where just friends he was possessive of you. But now that he’s finally got you back in his arms there’s no way that you’re leaving him again.
“God you know how fucking much I’ve missed you. Had me worrying over your crazy ass” he waisted no time pulling you into a kiss. His large hands lingering over your body making you moan. He lifted you up bringing you over the couch and laying you on your stomach . “You okay with this baby? This what you want” you smiled shyly and gave a small nod.
He didn't even give you a second to think before he slid both of your pants and underwear down and thrusted into you making you moan and grip the edge of the couch. Tears filled you eyes with every thrust feeling as it was getting deeper.
He wrapped his hand around you throat pulling her back up to his chest "You feel good baby hm? This what you wanted after all these years~" He teased. “Wanted you for years! Ever since we became friends!” this sparked something in him and he flipped position so that your were on your back. Moving his hand to your thighs and lifted you up having your knees to your chest as he kept thrusting. Your moans and pleas fell onto deaf ears "I'll make sure you never think of leaving me again, gonna make your all mine”
“Gonna cum! Please!” “Go head baby cum for me~” You both were thrown over the edge cumming at the same time. As you were trying to catch your breath he rested his forehead on yours “come home with me baby. Let me make you my spouse.” A smile grew on your face as you gave him a kiss “Of course I will”
Sorry it’s a bit short I will most likely make another part to it later on!!

Attempting to adapt my hearing autistic home signs to turtle hands (for artists’ reference)
DISCLAIMER: This is for fanart/fanfiction use only and not education for the real world. If you are interested in genuinely learning ASL please learn from a qualified source, preferably Deaf/HoH/CODA identified, such as www.lifeprint.com or a class at your local community college.
(7/7) I sign “yes” by nodding a closed fist. I sign “no” by tucking the pinkie and ring fingers in, sticking the rest straight out (index and middle together), and shutting the straight fingers like a closing mouth. Because the non-thumb fingers are paired up I think it converts easily to turtle hands.
Unless I get a specific request for more, this will be my last upload in the series. They are fun animation practice, but I have misgivings about “teaching” signs as a hearing person, and don’t want to take space from Deaf/HoH creators.
If Deaf/HoH users on Tumblr want to be boosted on my page (or would be interested in a collab) let me know. In the meantime, boosting some of my personal favorite Deaf content creators (in no particular order because editing on mobile is hard):
My Lazy Brother and The Twins Thing on Youtube (comedy skits in ASL)
The Daily Moth on YouTube (news in ASL)
Deafies in Drag on YouTube (comedy skits by Deaf drag queens)
Lifeprint (ASL education site) and Bill Vicars on YouTube (same person)
Wakewolf on The App Formerly Known As Twitter (Deaf furry, makes ASL content in a fursuit)

Hi there!
I've seen that you answered questions about writing a Deaf character, and I'm currently working on my own story with a Deaf character. The way you depict his signing is so well done, but I don't want to copy your way of doing it. I am not Deaf or hard of hearing so I was wondering what resources you used for NSS?
Thank you for putting so much amazing art out there! :)
I took an ASL class/have asked people about their experiences + have had several individuals look over the depiction of a lot of the content in the comic/have asked for critique! I also sketched the different signs in my ASL class I took while watching the teacher!
The biggest thing I’ve learned is that every experience is different, so there’s always going to be a sense of inaccuracy about the character, even if you do a ton of interviews, research, etc. It’s hard to depict (for example) asl in comic form. I have a few rules I have to keep in mind that can change the way a panel is formatted— if Fern is in the scene, I have to have the majority of characters facing him, and they often times have to keep eye contact in his general direction— I’ve had a few times while working on the reboot that I’ll want to add in, for example, Lewis being nervous and looking off to the side and turning away. I’ve had to scrap a couple of panels like that because of how it would completely change the trajectory of the convo going on at that point in the comic (most likely, unless I have him turning away intentionally— same goes with other characters in a scene like that).
Anyways long story short, do as much first person research as you can! Listen to people and their experiences, follow deaf/hoh creators on Tik Tok + insta, and seize opportunities to learn as much as you can + ask for critique on the way you’re depicting the character!!
Hope this helps :))) thanks for the question!!🫶
