Donnie Tech Part 1/?

After many moons here are the promised observations of the cartoon shtick logic of Donnie's weapons for season one!! Will link a season two and movie version Eventually, but keep in mind I can't explain in depth how each bit of tech works, rather that I can pinpoint the functions for the visual bit. Keep in mind that Donnie's tech can pretty much do any ridiculous thing you can put your mind to, and that it can also backfire in any ridiculous way you can put your mind to.

Tech Bo:

Collapsible, can become a shorter version of itself easily stored

Shoot a grappling hook AND function as a zip line

Can form a rocket from either end (usually at the same time, resulting in the bo spinning)

Is equipped to be a fire extinguisher

Can shoot out lasers

Has a button that activates the "Shopping Cart Protocol" to lock the Turtle Tank if it goes outside a set perimeter

Top can turn into a rocket powered fist

Turn into a giant drill

Turn into a saw

Turn into a tranquilizer

Turn into a tennis ball shooter

Turn into a selfie stick

Top can turn into a disco ball of "multidimensional reflective orb neutralizer"

Battle Shell:

Has rotary engines (think jet turbine or computer fan) that help him fly around. He calls them "rotors" for short

Can transform into a seat so April can sit on his back

Can split up into a DJ set up in "music mode"

Jet Pack Shell:

His fastest mode of transportation

Not much is shown, but April had a significant difficulty controlling it

Began as an automated smart lair designed with the intent as a cleaning assistant

Has a "disposal unit" which unlocks several of Donnie's weapons such as: guns, pinchers, drills, and flamethrowers

Can carry at least two turtles (Mikey and Donnie)

Is nicknamed "Cyber Bishop" by Donnie

Uses surfer dude slang: “dude”, “gnarly”, “buzzkill”, “okey dokey”, “dawg”, “you beefed it”, “brohounds"

As a smart lair has clear favoritism towards Donnie until tampered with. As a drone they share more of a familial or pet like relationship, and Shelldon has room to sometimes poke at Donnie's faults as well

In conclusion there's not much to worry about breaking canon, the physics of our reality, or understanding complicated tech and science to write about Donnie's tech. He can do whatever he wants as long as it's silly, overly dramatic, and includes an unnecessary amount of purple guns. His tech bo is especially flexible with breaking the rules even before we get to his ninpo powers.

I'm keeping the Turtle Tank separate, because it also deserves its own post. Happy writing!

@allmightyscroll-swag came up with an au idea of what if the turtles were Lou Jitsu (he never became Splinter in this au) and Big Mama's bio children.

So I was immediately inspired to draw some half human half Jorōgumo designs!

Mikey (he/him) looks mostly human from the waist up, aside from the 4 eyes with yellow sclera (and the extra spider arms ig) But from the waist down hes alll spider baby!! Hes pretty half and half, at least compared to his siblings, though he cant produce any webs nor foes he have a poisonous bite he is still incredibly mystically powerful!

Now onto the twins!! (he/him for Leo and he/they for Donnie)

Theyre much more human presenting than the other two. And look like mirror images of each other. On their more spidery side (the one with the multiple red eyes) they both have patterns that go down the entire length of that side of their body. They both also have light purple hair, just a few shades darker than the hair Big Mama has in her human form, though Leo dyes his.

They both can produce webbing, but not in the same way big mama can make hers, in that they cant spew it as an attack, but can produce it as a steady thread (theyre both awesome at sewing) from the roof of their mouths. They also both have a venomous bite.

They can basically pretend to be human if they cover the more spidery side if their face with hair (thats why they have it grown so long) And hide their extra arms in a hoodie or something.

And finally we have Raph!! (he/she)

Clearly hes the most spider-like of his siblings, and his appearance often scares even yokai at first, and is often mistaken of an Oni. But have no doubt, she gives the BEST hugs ever!! He can spew webs just like Big Mama too, though her bite isnt as poisonous as the twin's, but has a stronger bite force.

Also this lad is BIG, almost as tall as big mama already! probably because hes afab, and female spiders are usually bigger than male spiders.

Ripple the Platypus

Here he is, Shimmer's adopted son in the future that I mentioned on the adult refs. He's about 6 when she finds him, but in this picture is 8. I used Starline's design as a ref for the bill and tail because I love the parallel that the only two monotreme species have opposite tails. (echidna's are 'down, up, down', and platypus seem to be 'up, down, up.') He was found alone in Mystic Ruins shortly after a tourist group visit while Shimmer was doing cleanup, but even after weeks of trying to find out who his parents were, they mysteriously couldn't find them, even with Tidal's help of trying to hack into the train's systems to see who was on the last route to Mystic Ruins. Plus, Ripple seemingly would rather stay there than go back. And with how things work in the Sonic Universe- that's just what happened. He stayed, under Shimmer's care. He's explorative and exciteable, but also cautious because of living on Angel Island. Thanks to his mom and grandpa, he knows where all the traps are, and if he doesn't, he knows how to tell if one IS there by sight alone. He loves his family, including the 'friend found family' (Tidal, Jade, Chive, ect. The Silvaze family is technically crossed over because of Rowdy and Ashes) His favorite uncle is Rowdy because he sees him more but because he also brings back cool rocks. When he meets someone he starts out shy, but eventually if he's comfortable he won't stop yapping. He loves to talk and learn new things even if those new things are unimportant or he doesn't fully understand it. (Love uncle Tidal for that one. They can yap back and forth for hours) He does have his spurs! I just couldn't showcase them with this pose. So while he isn't very strong (yet, certainly Shimmer can't allow that) he can definitely defend himself with that. His favorite place is the chao gardens, which he likes to spend time with Chive there. Rosy is still growing up by this point (She'd be roughly 14 when Shimmer's 25) so she's his "lets do some crazy stuff" aunt. (nothing too crazy for mobians, but probably like hanging from trees and stuff (At least she's a bat, he is- in fact not I imagine it's a bit harder with webbed hands) He loves to weave, taught how to by Knuckles. Anyways yeah. You can ask questions about him if you'd like ^^

Ok so Cookie Run hyperfix go brrrr I wanna talk about the Beasts for a bit :)

I’m absolutely loving these guys so far; they’re such good mirrors of each of the Ancient Heroes (especially Shadow Milk to Pure Vanilla, but that’s a topic plenty of people have talked about before lol). Them being negative flips on the Ancients’ virtues, showing how even things like Knowledge and Resolution can have harmful sides, is something I enjoy a lot, and I’m looking forward to what the game does with Eternal Sugar and Silent Salt once they release.

Right now though I want to ramble about their title: Beasts. Why are they called the Beasts? Aside from the mass destruction and chaos they caused, the name doesn’t seem all that fitting. They aren’t animalistic in any inherent way; they aren’t “mindless beasts” as the saying goes. They were former heroes and saviors that had a fall from grace.

I’ve seen some fan works giving them more beastly forms they can change into like the Dragon Cookies do. And if anyone knows me, you know I love a good old transforming/shapeshifting character! So I latched on to this headcanon real quick, cause honestly it would make their title make a lot more sense. Also it’s just cool :)

So, what sort of creatures would these theoretical other forms resemble? Time to analyze each character, their design inspirations, their symbolism, and more to determine this. This got long, so I’ll put it under a cut

Shadow Milk already has a very clear connection to snakes, both through the religious symbolism with the Garden of Eden (which is seen in his gacha animation via a snake eating an apple; image below), and with snakes often representing lies and trickery; Deceit.

So him being something snake-like is the obvious choice.

Mystic Flour is also relatively easy: spiders. There is an abundance of spider enemies in the Pagoda areas, with the boss of the first half being the Webbed Spider Queen:

This spider already bears a resemblance to Mystic Flour, with its abdomen having markings that look like her face and Soul Jam. It also comes out of Mystic Flour’s cocoon, which honestly looks like the stereotypical “spider cocooned its prey” depiction, background webs and all.

Mystic Flour cookie’s philosophy about enlightenment and letting go of worldly desires is heavily based on Buddhist beliefs, and spiders actually do have some symbolism in Buddhism and the Vedic philosophy from India. In the Vedas, spiders are depicted as hiding reality in illusion, similar to the illusory perfection Mystic Flour creates. And a spider web is a common way of explaining the Buddhist concept of interpenetration; all phenomena in the universe being interconnected. Less connection to Mystic Flour there, but I wanted to note it.

Burning Spice also has religious symbolism behind him, this time coming from Hinduism. He is heavily based on the destruction deity Shiva’s more wrathful depictions. In Hinduism, destruction is more of a neutral force; part of the balance of the universe along with creation and preservation (the deities Brahma and Vishnu respectively). Burning Spice being such a harsh inversion of that neutrality fits the Beasts’ theme of being twisted virtues.

Shiva has a few animals associated with him, such as bulls, cobras, deer, and the one most important for this discussion: the tiger. Burning Spice already has stripe markings on his arms, and his main follower that we see in the game is Nutmeg Tiger Cookie.

Making Burning Spice a tiger would be a bit odd because of Nutmeg Tiger’s existence as one of his followers, but the idea of a giant, wrathful, firey tiger is just too perfect for Burning Spice in my eyes. Maybe add in some bull features to make him stand apart a bit more.

Eternal Sugar and Silent Salt I can’t really do much with yet since we don’t know anything about them other than their respective corrupted virtues, being Sloth and Silence. Eternal Sugar’s design seems to have an Angel and Devil theming, so perhaps some sort of bird? And Silent Salt I have absolutely no ideas for. I’ll have to figure these two out once they get added to the game and we learn more about them.

Anyways, hope yall enjoyed this silly analysis thing :) Also take a bonus doodle of snake/dragon Smilk that we did before making this post and that inspired us to write it in the first place lol (design still being workshopped; looking at him now we really should have made his hair into a cobra hood)

Hello! It's me again, the one who gave you the food and sleep idea. I think I'll sign myself as ML. The idea about diversity in drawing the Beasts is a good one. I saw a sketch with Mystic flour, like that she has spider legs (like I think), I liked it insanely since it immediately brings to mind that big spider - Webbed Spider Queen. Hee hee) I'd love to see more rough concepts and sketches on this. A small idea (you decide whether to take it or not, it's just an idea after all) it would be cool to give some snake-like traits for SM, and for BS… animal-like traits like a bull? Since bulls are very aggressive, but you could give something else. Huh, I just think so since I'm trying to have the animal at least somehow associated with the character's personality. (I'm writing through a translator, maybe if I pick myself up in the summer and start learning English, maybe I can talk to other English people????? yeah id love to give each beast some distinguishable features, that would be a nice way of telling us their deal for every single one (also im a furry and i love nonhuman characters but shh)

i wont show anything more just yet, i got sketches down for everyone sans silent salt, and im waiting for the next update to finish it because i need to decide on what to do with eternal sugar.

as for the idea for both shadow milk and burning spice, ill say that shadow milk already has some snakey features, namely his mouth with forked tongue and venom fangs in the back like colubrids. he also does have scales, however they are covered by his clothes. they are only on certain spots of his body, which is mostly covered with short fur. but again, hidden behind the fabric covering most of it.

burning spice feels more like a tiger to be actually, but its most likely due to the avatar of ruin (i love that design so MUCH). a bull is an interesting concept though ill admit. i have a very specific interpretation of burning spice in my mind, so if i were to go with a bull, it wouldnt be due to aggression actually. he is an explosive character for sure, but i wouldnt say aggression is a character trait id apply to him as the defining one. he nurtured many civilizations in the past, is very eloquent and knowledgeable. a bull could be used here in a context of a powerful being, but one that doesnt rage blindly left and right

Spiders are a girl’s best friend.

Poor Webby was left out of my last few doodles, and I couldn’t really do a Messenger design for her without an idea for her “default” form. I know they’re all indescribable horrors built of mystical psychic energy in the Black and White, but I like making monsters. So let’s say this is the result of putting in the bare minimum amount of effort to solidify their forms.

These default shapes are Cthulu-esque mountain-sized forms that risk driving anyone who sees them insane, so in the AU I originally made this blog for these are referred to as their “Kaiju” forms.

"Cipherjack Tuesday". Well. Kind of. Don't have much a lot of coherent cool stuff to post but I would like to talk about it anyway.

The premise is "Internet is magic" and then go off from there. Originally there was a more fantastical fairy element to it but it's shifted more towards scifi over the years. The internet is still very much magic, though, with sentient beings that exist in it that are associated with demons, fairies, angels, etc. You got goblins that steal code, devils spamming you with pop up porno game ads and scams, and Things Whispering To You on the deep web.

Most of day to day life is like, some what AR'ififed. You can't really go about the world without having something that allows you access to the Net (sometimes called the Cipher)

I always start with the magic system in my worlds, so the magic works as "code" that you construct and then 'launch' or cast. So it's like typical incantation magic where you write a spell except you don't write it on paper or use mystical ingredients, you code it, run it, and hope your rig can handle whatever you just did.

"Languages" are the 'schools' or types of magic.

Codes are cast through devices. There are different types of devices that can be used. Mainstream hardware is often severely limited by companies so Codebreakers need to jailbreak their hardware.

The device needs enough CPU power to cast certain spells. If it's too much, the device might break, burn, explode, etc.

Code also requires mental load, especially if you are casting off the cuff. You can preload spells to reduce the load but this takes a long time to set up and requires planning.

You can buy premade code or create your own. Premade code will always be weaker as it has to be designed for general usage and there's a limit to what you can find on the market.

Code can be used as many times as you want but like everything, it is susceptible to bitrot. Cheap/Low quality code will degrade fast and eventually become unusable.

Overloading yourself with too much code can cause lasting mental damage and even physical damage.

Overusing magic causes data corruption that bleeds into the real world: glitched objects, people phasing out of sync, memories overwritten.

The game i'm working on is set in Eerie, which is a big city/sprawl place built in lake erie

i keep getting stuck on this project and that's likely because I don't talk about it to other people and get trapped in my own head, so I'm gonna try to force myself to post more about it. if you're interested in talking about it or are curious or whatever, hmu.

originally this was a tabletop setting I was gonna run but I don't get to do tabletop anymore, so now I've been writing a computer game(tm) for it. But I might do other stuff with it, who knows. it's just fun

{ ORB WEAVER SPIDERS } can be found all over north america and are known for building webs, often remaking them every day. they have excellent sensory skills and can detect vibrations whenever their web is touched. 𝐍𝐄𝐎𝐒𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐀 𝐂𝐑𝐔𝐂𝐈𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐀 females can be 0.37 - 0.75in long, with only a slight size difference for males. they are generally nocturnal, but females can become diurnal in the fall, 𝚊𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚢 𝚖𝚊𝚝𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚕𝚊𝚢 𝚎𝚐𝚐𝚜 𝚒𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚕𝚊𝚝𝚎 𝚜𝚞𝚖𝚖𝚎𝚛 / 𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚕𝚢 𝚏𝚊𝚕𝚕 𝚜𝚎𝚊𝚜𝚘𝚗. typically, they spin their webs in higher, man-made structures, populating gardens and urban areas. this species is considered docile, but will bite if provoked. their venom is not dangerous to humans beyond the sensation, swelling, and irritation likened to a bee sting.

* excludes radiation-based mutations ( gold eyes, etc. ) & spider-related abilities given via mysticism, not localized to species ( super strength, spider-wave detection, spider-sense, etc. )

i ) small setules on his hands and the bottoms of his feet ( allowing him to adhere to walls ).

ii ) glands in each wrist that eject webbing. there are silvery "veins" visible on his forearms in bright settings; they funnel web fluid from a small organ that produces it in his upper abdomen.

- * produces a steady amount consistently, but stores can be emptied when a lot of webbing is used at one time. alternatively, build-up from lack of use can cause pain, swelling, and discharge. - * as the webbing is not infinite, overuse (and attempted use after stores are emptied) causes irritation, swelling, and discomfort. - * two types are produced: sticky and non-sticky.

iii ) reduced need for sleep. only requires four hours of sleep to be fully rested, can vary depending on food intake, health, injury, and stamina. rather than sleep, he can on occasion enter a 'stupor', or a rest state, which is not true sleep but indicates a lack of movement and response.

iv ) regeneration. classified as a healing factor, but is a step beyond basic healing. he doesn't scar, his injuries repair within a few days, and he's able to regenerate huge swaths of skin, keratin, and potentially bone. unlikely to be able to regrow entire limbs, but that hasn't been tested yet.

v ) slowed metabolism. able to go many days without eating. an opportunistic eater, will consume huge amounts of sustenance in one short period of time and then last a week without. hunger varies based on health, sleep, and stamina.

- * peter's body is in a constant state of ' overworked ', and he passively uses his regeneration to stay afloat. therefore, his need for food is greatly increased beyond what would typically be standard for his species.

vi ) ectotherm. " cold - blooded ", his body temperature adapts to the surrounding environment. heat is obtained through alternate sources, as his body is unable to produce it to a human standard. prolonged exposure to temperatures below freezing cause him to enter a hibernation-like state, eventually leading to death.

vii ) reproductive organs. has a copulatory opening, oviduct, ovaries, and egg-laying ducts. altered from straightforward female spider organs, tied closely to the human male reproductive organs.

i ) autumnal mating season. elevated hormone levels and increased inclination towards sex. may be aggressive, irritated, needy, or standoffish.

ii ) web display. enjoys creating large, intricate webs. seeks shelter and comfort in large, protective web "cocoons" where he can retreat in.

iii ) natural hunter. capable of staying in one spot for elongated periods of time. swift, silent, and single-minded. messing with webs that he has created for his comfort may incite aggression or prey-vision.

iv ) self-regulation. finds comfort in and reduces stress by perching in high areas, lingering in corners, hanging up-side down, and sitting within a web.

Family Web failed apocalypse Future Designs

(part 1 of 3. eventually. They do not exist yet. Later this week for sure)

Since there's a lot of information for all these guys, i'm going to post them in batches.

Donnie is 24 by the time they find Raph's kids. (he got Clara when he was 20. like He kinda just walked into the kitchen with a tiny tot one day, grabbed a cup of coffee, and left while everyone was still processing the palm sized turtle he had in a washcloth.)

He tried to go to college for a computer science major but he already knew what they were teaching and kept trying to correct the teachers. The whole thing frustrated him to the point of Rage quitting after a month and starting his own freelance business as a security consultant.

Basically, he gets paid to walk into a building (or sit down at one of their computers), tell them the biggest flaws in their system and suggest what they can do instead. If they pay him enough, he might even set up a design of his own.

(when the people don't believe him about how bad their security system is, he or Jennika break into the building in the middle of the night and leave a business card in their most secure place. He usually gets a call back within 24 hours lol)

He mostly works in the hidden city but he will branch out to human companies (with use of a broach) if suitably asked.

As far as his gear goes, after fighting the krang (and his little apocalypse trip) he refuses to be unprepared. But he can't go around fully suited all the time so he has his gear hidden/collapsed into bulky bracelets and necklaces (some mystic required lol). All he has to do is press the little medallion around his neck and it all folds out from there (like mama touching her broach sometimes to transform : ) ) So yes, Donnie gets a little techy magical girl transformation. as a treat

Jennika, on the other hand, is 22 at this point. She's fully taken on the job of Mama's assistant, pay and all, and has an absolutely killer information network for spy work.

She and Donnie are thick as thieves by this point. Between the two of them they know ALL. And as such, they will occasionally help each other with their jobs, if the mood strikes them. (or if the other has a suitable payment for the inconvenience.)

Jennika took some classes in college but it really wasn't her scene. So she dropped out.

Like Donnie, she wants to be prepared at all times. So she always has on a ninja outfit (reinforced via tech and Mikey webbing/mystic). But she wears bulky outfits over it so it looks more normal, and so she can just take the bulky outer clothes off quickly and be ready for anything in a moment.

Up next is probably going to be Leo and Mikey. Followed by Raph's 2 forms.
