Wayne Douglas Gretzky CC is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player and former head coach. He played 20 seasons in the National Hockey League for four teams from 1979 to 1999.

Born: 26 January 1961 (age 62 years), Brantford, Canada.

Office Attendance: Wayne Gretzky never recorded a single absence due to injury throughout his high school hockey career. This impressive durability became a hallmark of his professional career as well.

"With a swath of U.S. cities adopting policies that would outlaw homeless encampments, advocates for unhoused people are working to fight stigmas against “tent cities.”

A new study out of the University of Colorado shows that involuntary sweeps of these camps do not improve public safety, for instance. And in San Diego, initiatives like safe sleeping camps work to provide transitional support to people with nowhere else to go.

Now, the city of Saginaw, Michigan, is taking a similar approach to address homelessness. 

The City Council has announced a community partnership to establish temporary legal encampments for homeless residents displaced from a site under an interstate overpass.

“We decided to be proactive and try to establish a place where we can provide some very basic amenities that drastically improve the health, safety, and dignity of the folks in that area,” City Councilwoman Carly Rose Hammond told Mid-Michigan Now. 

She added that the initiative aims to “have a positive impact on all the neighborhoods and businesses surrounding it.”

Hammond acknowledged that the plan is not designed to be a permanent solution, but it does allow those experiencing homelessness at least a little more dignity and support.

“What a legal encampment allows us to do is say, ‘Hey, we already know that these people are here. Even if we come out and destroy people’s stuff, they’re going to come back,” she told WNEM 5. 

“So, what can we do to provide some basic amenities and some necessities to help so that the environment is relatively clean and relatively safe?’”

Saginaw is not a major city, but it is part of the Greater Tri-Cities Region of Central Michigan, which has an estimated population of about 378,000 people. 

According to Saginaw’s 2024 Point in Time Count, there are approximately 325 individuals experiencing homelessness at any given time. And with the housing crisis on the rise, officials are hoping this move will provide more relief.

“We’ve seen the housing crisis climb and climb and climb, we’ve had more and more fallout from those social issues,” Hammond added to Mid-Michigan Now. “So [we’re] addressing this problem head-on, providing a temporary solution, and a pathway forward.”

Organizations like La Misión are part of the city’s plan to include nonprofits, businesses, community advocates, and neighbors in ensuring the success of the initiative. 

Veronica Vela, who leads La Misión, said legal and accessible encampments are vital to connecting with people who need urgent resources.

“We’re out here. We actually know names there. They know us,” Vela told Mid-Michigan Now. “So when they see my truck, they’re gonna come up to my truck. So it’s more of a relationship that we have with them.”

By allowing people the space to build community in a designated and safe location, caseworkers and on-the-ground advocates can get people the help they need with more speed and consistency.

The city also plans to form a permanent subcommittee to address homelessness — ideally before it begins.

While the timeline of this new initiative — as well as the specific services it will provide — remain unclear at this time, Hammond promises a step in the right direction.

“What’s going to come out of this is a healthier, safer environment for everyone,” she told Mid-Michigan now. “We can work on long-term solutions, rather than just kicking the problem around and kicking it down the road.”"

Transmutation Warding: Feeding Off The Haters

• Welcome Back, Seekers! Within my local coven, we’ve turned our focus to warding and protection magick as we prepare for the year ahead. I adore transmutation magick for warding! It’s one of my favorite ways to craft shields for myself, my work, my growth, and my success. Instead of constantly bracing for every hex, evil eye, or ill wish, this approach flips the narrative. Transmutation wards work proactively, taking any negativity sent your way and alchemizing it into fuel for your growth and power. Why waste energy defending against haters or uncovering their identities when you can let their spite feed your fire? Let them send their malice—it’ll only make you more powerful.

As always, take what resonates with your spirit and weave it into your own unique magick! My spells and workings are here to spark your creativity and inspire your craft. ✨

Tools & Ingredients:

1 black candle (to absorb negativity)

1 purple candle (for transmutation and spiritual power)

Thread or Cord (any color)

A mirror (to summon your Fetch Spirit or reflect your essence)

1 clear quartz crystal or any charm you’re called to that can be left on your altar or within your space -  As a subtle sentinel of the ward’s power, clear quartz is a cherished ally in magick. Its ability to be easily programmed makes it a perfect vessel for your intention, while its amplifying nature ensures the energy of your working radiates far and wide. To the untrained eye, it appears as nothing more than a beautiful crystal resting upon your altar or within your sacred space—a discreet guardian cloaked in plain sight, silently weaving its protective spell.

Optional: Chalk or something to draw a circle (for creating a sacred boundary to hold the enchantment of your crystal or charm. If chalk is unavailable, let your finger become the wand. You can also use salt or any symbols you would like to use to draw out a circle.

Preparation:

Cleanse your workspace and tools with smoke, salt water, or another method of your choosing.

Candle preparation, take your black candle and anoint it with a neutral oil, something simple like canola oil—or any oil you feel connected to for protection. Once it’s dressed in oil, sprinkle it with herbs known for protection, such as basil, bay, black pepper, cinnamon, or clove—or any protection herbs that resonate with your magick. For the purple candle, I like to use a neutral oil as well, then dress it with herbs that are perfect for transmutation, like lady’s mantle and yucca. Along with those, I often add a pinch of herbs that represent success and abundance—and don’t forget to include a bit of your hair, fingernail clippings, or something from your person to taglock the magick, connecting the work directly to your energy. Then bind the candles together with some thread or cord.

Binding the Candles:

Take the black and purple candles and begin winding the thread around them, chanting this, or create your own:

"I bind these flames, black and purple entwined,

Protection and transmutation, powers combined.

Through thread and flame, my will takes hold,

To guard my essence, fierce and bold."

You don't have to go all out like I did with those massive candles. Honestly, a couple of chime candles will do the trick if you're short on time.

3. Place your mirror above the center of your altar or working space, positioning it to reflect either yourself or the flickering flames of your candles (refer to the caption below the next picture for more context). The Bear S3 and the Choices We Make

Ok. After a second watch of S3, I'm feeling a little bit more optimistic about the future. Trust - it's a sad ending. It's my worst nightmare for Sydney. But there's still hope, and that all lies in what Carmen and Syd decide to do next. Season 3 Spoilers - read at your own risk :)

In S3 E10 Forever, we see our two mains go through a breakthrough. Starting with Carmen, he finally confronts his former boss (who has a name, i think, but fuck him, I ain't using it). It's the first (and only time) that we see Carmen proactively voice his resentment. He avoids his mom (rightfully so imo). He never got the chance with Mikey. But he approaches him, expects the man to have repent (maybe), or at the very least, have a little remorse.

He doesn't. He regrets nothing. In fact, he takes credit for Carmen's success: his hard work, his skills, and his talent. He tells Carmen that he should be thanking him, and that's not even the worst of it. No, for me, it is when he says

Carmen: My life stopped. Chef: That's the point, right? [...] You wanted to be great. You wanted to be excellent. So you got rid of all the bullshit, and you concentrated, and you got focused, and you got great. You got excellent. It worked. You're here. Look at all this

Sound familiar? It should. It's the same sentiment that Carmen said in the Season 2 finale. Remember, he said,

I wasn't here. Right? What the fuck was I thinking? Like I was going to be in a relationship? I'm a fuckin' pyscho. That's why I'm good at what I do. That's how I operate. I am the best because I didn't have any of this fuckin' bullshit, right? I could focus, and I could concentrate.

Carmen's thoughts about himself aren't even his own. They were drilled into him by a man who wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire. He was emulating the abusive behaviors and patterns that crushed him, that gave him "uclers, panic attacks, and nightmares" on the people that he cares about. On his sister, on Richie, on Tina and Marcus. and especially on Sydney, who is the only one who knows exactly how bad it can get. He's hurt those closest to him. He hurts them daily. And for what? And for why? For his own ego.

And this realization leads us to Carmen's first cry.

For three whole seasons, we see this man lose his idolized brother to suicide, witness his alcoholic mother physically, emotionally, and mentally abuse him, and experience mental degradation to the point where it affects his physical health. Not once did he shed a tear. This is the first time Carmen Berzatto lets himself cry. And I think this is the best thing for him. If he chooses to acknowledge the err of his ways, turn back course, and begin again, I think The Bear could be what he wanted it to be. He needs to decide to stop running, stop fighting himself and everybody around him. He needs to let go. Let it rip, right?

However, if this is what he decides to do, the cards ultimately fall into Sydney's hands.

If anybody's been through hell and back, it's Ms. Sydney Adamu. All season she's been forced to work in a volatile environment, putting herself between Carmen and whoever's the victim of his anger. She has her ideas shut down, her skills demeaned, and her credit is outright non-existent. Staff keeps quitting; they're not making any money; and Cicero and Co. is doing some shady background shit.

She's trapped, but not really. Not until she signs that Partnership Agreement. But like she told her dad in S2 E9 Omelette, she doesn't think she has another one in her. She can't have The Bear fail like Sheridan Road. She doesn't want to make the same mistakes she did last time. She wants to grow and learn and make her mark on the industry - prove she's not a failure.

She's waiting for Carmen to make good on his promises from The Table Scene, but he's not.

"You deserve my full focus." But his focus is not on her. Remember the Carmen that noticed when something was off with her? Remember the "say more?" or the "what's up with you?" Remember when they worked together, when the menu was truly theirs? Where was Sydney's "margin" moment? What did Carmen do this scene that signaled to Sydney that he was there and present.

"I couldn't do this without you." He does everything without her. Don't even get me started. From the menu to the list of nonnegotiables. Syd gets to make no decisions after being forced to make ALL the decisions. What is she there for? To be Carm's wrangler, his doormat? What has he does to convince her that she is invaluable?

He's egotistical. He's verbally abusive. He's the exact person that she warned him not to be. That he assured her that he wouldn't be in S1 E3 Brigade. She said,

You know I think this place could be so different from all the other places we've been at. But, in order for that to be true, we need to run things different. [...] But you just didn't really listen, and if this is going to work the way I think we both want it to work, I think we should probably try to listen to each other. The reason why I'm here, and not somewhere else or for someone else, is because I think I can stand out here. I can make a difference here. We could share ideas. I could implement things that make this place better. And I don’t wanna be wasting my time, working on another line or tweezing herbs on a dish that I don’t care about.

He didn't follow through the first time, so she left. But now, it's different. She's put her blood, sweat, and tears into this place. She's made a place (a home even) at The Bear. Leaving is not as simple anymore.

S1 Syd would've taken that CDC offer in a heartbeat. But building something and it failing (like The Bear. like Sheridan Road.) is terrifying. Slowly but surely, Carmen has been chipping away at her confidence and her fire. So much so that good things, like The Offer or the review of her risotto from The Beef, don't feel like good things.

Sydney's Panic Attack is HUGE for her character. We see Sydney at her lowest: her most frightening and vulnerable. She's uncertain. She's in a constant state of panic. And the person that she trusted with her fears and insecurities facilitated this, drove her to this point. It's heartbreaking. I cried when I saw it. No one would blame her for jumping ship. At this point, I encourage it (but she has to talk about it, acknowledge it. no running).

Now, if Carmen decides to change his ways, he'd have apologized to Sydney twice without changed actions. She'd have to believe him after many, many broken promises. At this time, she doesn't trust him, can't rely on him. But when having to decide between staying or going, will she try to trust him again?

Will she? Should she?

That's where I'm at so far. I have more thoughts, but I'll write those out when I get back from my weekend trip.

Fans threw their hands up, screaming as Y/N passed by them on the stage. She simply looked at them and grinned a cheeky little smile.

At 16 years old, Y/N was the most popular singer in the world and she new it. Gods, even the Asetri knew it. Which is why Rigelus took an interest in her pretty early on since popularity meant influence.

Y/N knew that by donning the P/S/N persona, the Asteri wanted to utilize her influence on social media to pressure more citizens into following the Asteri's orders.

Which is why Y/N had to find a way out.

"She said what?" Y/N asked in confusion while staring at Nesta.

The Inner Circle had gathered for dinner the same night that Bryce had jumped back through a portal with Az's sword, Truth-Teller.

"She said that she knew you!" Nesta shouted, shooting to stand up and slamming her hands on the table. She pointed her glare at Y/N, "So? Do you have anything to say?"

Y/N tried to suppress a giggle, but when she couldn't hold it in anymore she grinned looking at Nesta, "What do you want me to say? That I was some famous pop start? I don't even know what that is."

"Wait Y/N, is what they're saying true? Are you from Bryce Quinlan's world?" Feyre asked at the head of the table, looking at the high fae curiously.

Y/N looked around the table to see all eyes on her, including Amren's. "C'mon girl, time to fess up." Amren teased as she brought her goblet of blood to her mouth to take a sip.

Y/N sighed, "Okay, fine..."

"So starting off, I don't know if you all knew this or not, but I'm only 36 years old."

"What?! I thought you were much older!" Mor shouted, standing in shock.

"Gee, thanks Mor. Love to be told that I look old."

"I think she was just surprised that you weren't in their age range." Feyre started to try to control damage, but Y/N put her hand up stopping the high lady from saying more.

"At 14 years old, my mom posted a video of me singing an audition for a talent show on social media, which is basically a moving picture with sound. So she put it to where everyone could see this video on their phones, which is that thing Bryce had with her pictures on it."

"After that video was published, it became super popular and before I knew it, I was doing interviews on famous shows and singing performances for large audiences. After that came all of the events with the Asteri. They approached my parents saying that I could make a lot of money by following their orders and they would make me famous."

"And you ensure that she will be safe?" her father asked, looking at the Asteri leader sitting across the dining room table from him.

Rigelus gave a small smile, "Of course, it is, after all, the Asteri's vision to have a proactive member amongst the younger generations, and Y/N would be a perfect fit. She will be well taught and well guarded."

Y/N looked between her parents and Rigelus. She knew that her family needed money pretty badly, but not badly enough to be sold off for some entertainment. At 14 years old, she was smarter than her parents gave her credit for and it was quite embarrassing to see that her parents really didn't respect her at all.

"So, do I get a say in this decision?" all heads turned in her direction, but her question was only answered by her father.

"No, you will do as you are told and that is the end of the conversation."

Y/N grinned, "I found out a had some magic hidden away and using my powers I opened a portal to Prythian."

"Catch her!" A voice commanded, barking out orders to patrol squads trying to find the missing popstar.

Y/N looked over her shoulder to see the silhouette of some of the wolf shifters searching for her.

'This is the moment I've been waiting for' Y/N thought as she concentrated on opening a portal. She had seen the Asteri do this and when she tried the first time, she did not think it would have worked for her as well, but when it opened a swirling vortex of light, she knew she had found her escape.

As she focused on creating the portal, she repeatedly looked over her shoulder to make sure nobody could find her. But when she turned back for the final time, her portal was finished. She grinned proudly, 'If only dad could see how powerful his useless daughter is.'

"There she is! Catch her!" She heard Pollux, The Hammer, shout and that was her queue. She launched herself into the portal, not knowing for sure where she would pop out the other end at, but the chances of landing somewhere like Hel was a welcome thought over being stuck with the Asteri.

She fell through the portal and slammed straight into the ground, face first. "UGHHH" She groaned, planting her hands on the ground and pushing herself back up. She looked over to see the portal close, and she sighed in relief.

She let herself fall towards the ground and started giggling, which turned into a full on laugh, which was then interrupted by someone clearing their throat. She launched back up to meet the eyes of the most handsome man....err, or bat?

"Sup, where am I, hot stuff?"

Sisters, while I enjoy downloading uplifting affirmation apps, and even reblogging a good affirmation list. I've recently realized I've been approaching this method of manifesting and the law of attraction all wrong! Instead of merely reciting affirmations, I needed to truly embody the feelings and beliefs behind them. It's not enough to just say the words; I must visualize and feel as if my desires are already mine.

I've recently started incorporating manifesting and visualization practices into my daily routine, allowing myself to experience the emotions of gratitude and joy as if I have already achieved my goals. By shifting my mindset and focusing on the positive energy associated with my dreams, ans the woman I want to become. I’m transforming my approach.

Now, every morning when I do my routine I say 1-3 affirmations to myself with intention! (which means they are not random, they go hand and hand with what I feel and want to feel that day) I am as confident and specific as possible. Not only expressing gratitude but also embracing the woman I am destined to become.

For Example, instead of saying:

"I AM SUCCESSFUL "

Try this:

“I am grateful for the abundance in my life, including my finances, supportive friends and family, and I appreciate the opportunities that come my way.”

I’ve learned the importance of taking aligned action towards my intentions. Manifesting isn’t just about thinking and feeling; it’s also about stepping into opportunities and being proactive in my journey. I’m excited to embrace this new perspective and see how it unfolds in my life.
