"Yet I cannot help finding incredible the rationalist faith that a better world will come from banishing theism and all its works. No true pagan could share this consoling faith. Beneath the play of Socratic dialectic, the pagan mind was steeped in the tragic fatalism of ancient Greek drama. There was no redemptive pattern in human events. What was done could not be undone, and no act of human will could shape the future. With the arrival of Christianity, this austere vision was suppressed. From then on, with only rare exceptions, alternatives to the Christian message were rival stories of redemption. A search for salvation continues to animate secular thought. As Christianity has retreated, the most advanced minds have turned to secular superstitions – ersatz-scientific cults such as dialectical materialism, eugenics, transhumanism and the like. Or they deploy a hyper-liberal ideal of equality, originating in Christianity but lacking its insight into human imperfection, against the civilisation Christianity helped to create. The post-Christian world that is coming into being is one of ugly certainties imposed by a will to power. Evangelical rationalists may come to regret the passing of the myths they mock." — John N. Gray, Your own personal Jesus: In the beginning there were many different sons of God – Western Christianity triumphed not by destiny but accident (March 20, 2024)

The film, "Jeanne Dielman . . .", has a trajectory of meaninglessness that ends in the lead character's self-destructiveness out of sheer boredom. Is this an argument for theism, as against secularity and its functionalism? https://thewordenreport-film.blogspot.com/2025/03/jeanne-dielman-23-quai-du-commerce-1080.html

somebody tell me how the world can depend on freedom of religion when NOBODY even agrees on what a religion is.
like, if my church re-branded as a secular Jesus fan-club, whose gonna argue?
would that mean I could become a teacher, and share all my favourite verses without pushback? Would people be ok with somebody else teaching chants of gratitude to nature?
or I could declare that my religion is Jedi, never speak of it again, and the government will believe me.
I know that historically it was about protestants and catholics agreeing not to kill each other after everybody got crushed by a mountain of bones and drowned in a sea of blood.
but does 'religion' actually even mean anything more than a group of people with the same spiritual position, the same vibe?
is it just that the state should avoid spirituality and let the spirit be free?

Living in Secularity
Another Wednesday another post. So I recently had some interaction with someone online who appears to be a practicing Christian. I want to be CRYSTAL CLEAR before I get into this juicy post, this is not a response to that person directly, a personal attack or any indication of how I may or may not feel about them personally. This post is dealing with the issue of Secularity in modern society and…

“If I have one message to give to the secular American people, it’s that the world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don’t know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same.”
― Marjane Satrapi, Iranian graphic novelist

“You dont want kids? I said the same thing at your age. You’ll realize later.”
“You’re trans? You’re too young to know that. You’ll grow out of it.”
“You’re an atheist? You don’t actually disbelieve, you’re just mad at god. One day, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess.”
“You’re a leftist? You’ll become more conservative eventually; every generation does when they come into contact with The Real World™️”
“You’re gay/ace/queer? You just havent met the right man/woman yet.”
If you say any of the above things give me your personal information so i can harm you
edit: the terfs found this post. Y’all fuckin KNOW “give me your personal information” is a joke. I know your job is to paint trans people as evil and stuff but try harder at least, we know you’re not that stupid.
anywaysy crazy how u guys r aligning with people who like theocracy and homophobia and heteronormity just because you hate trans people. It’s almost like you, my fellow hoes, are really damn predictable.
Edit 2: i love how after that first edit terfs mysteriously stopped interacting

This is a church in France, vandalized by ☪️☪️☪️. I've no doubt the ☪️☪️☪️ also attacked Notre Dame and numerous other historic cathedrals and synagogues all over Europe.
The graffiti reads: "Allah is great" and "fuck Jesus."
This colonial absolutist racist misogynist pedophile cult has zero respect for ANYONE else and should be outlawed across the globe.

Quebec Premier François Legault said Friday afternoon that he wants to ban praying in public and that he was considering using the notwithstanding clause to do so. The premier was giving an overview of the past year in Quebec City before lawmakers break until January when he made the announcement. He said he had instructed his team to look into ways to put the ban in place. "Seeing people praying in the streets, in public parks, is not something we want in Quebec," Legault said.

Regardless of religion, people are allowed to be ticked off and uncomfortable when their customs and holidays are stripped down into a vague, distorted, and easily-marketable husk.

Fellini's film, "La Dolce Vita," is less obviously about the dichotomy between religion and hell, or the devil, than about the emptiness of fame and the world of socialites. Even so, the back-and-forth between religion and "hell" can be missed by viewers, so this short essay may help: https://thewordenreport-film.blogspot.com/2025/02/la-dolce-vita.html

Waking up to find out that my suspicions about another "as a Jew" account were correct and that they're just another ex-Christian goy who found out somewhere in their family history someone was Jewish is entirely validating. It's almost like every single time they speak "as a Jew" and get called out for it they're not actually being silenced by "evil Zionists" like they claim, but they're actually goyim appropriating another culture like white people in the USA claiming the whole "Cherokee princess" thing.
Quintessential goydacity.
