The Everything Shower
01. Pre-Shower
For an everything shower go from top (hair) to bottom (body). Do some prep before getting into the shower.
1: massage the roots of your hair with hair oil.
2: use hairmask on the ends of your hair.
3: clip your hair up and let it sit.
Tumblr media
02. Shower
Shower time - get in and wash your hairmask off.
1: shampoo the scalp.
2: condition the ends of your hair.
Use a scalp massager while wasing your hair.
Wash your body with gentle soap, then exfoliate with a sea salt body scrub. Scrubbing before shaving helps get a closer, cleaner shave.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
03. After shower
Put a soft fresh robe on, get cozy and move on to the after shower care - do your nails and don't forget to use nourishing oil afterwards.
Scrubbing and shaving might leave your skin sensitive and bare - use a moisturising cream. You can go for a high-end branded product, or you can go for the best stuff - baby products.Mom's best-kept secret. Do your facial skincare at this step.

Finally, change into fresh pyjamas and set the right atmosphere. Enjoy!

Tumblr media
disclaimer i am NOT a dermatologist so to create this post i did LOTS of research and i'll link all of my sources at the end of the post. i just wanted to kind of put everything that i found in here so i hope its helpful 💕🗒️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HOW TO DETERMINE UR SKIN TYPE ;
wash ur face with a gentle cleanser, pat dry and wait for about 30 minutes. if ur skin appears shiny throughout then u have oily skin, if ur skin appears tight/flaky then u have dry skin.
if u notice a slight shine on your nose and forehead then you have normal skin. if you have a combination skin type, then the skin will get oily around the t-zone.
INGREDIENTS TO LOOK FOR ;
for skin with acne -> salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, sulfur and mandelic acid.
for dry skin -> lactic acid, hyaluronic acid, ceramides and glycerin.
for pigmented skin -> mandelic acid, niacinamide, vitamin C, and arbutin.
INGREDIENTS THAT U SHOULD NOT MIX ;
mixing retinol and vitamin C causes irritation, mixing vitamin C and glycolic acid results in over-exfoliation, mixing AHA and retinol causes extreme dryness.
INGREDIENTS THAT U SHOULD MIX ;
hyaluronic acid + ceramides = repairing skin barrier. niacinimide + salicylic acid = healing acne. retinol + niacinimide = collagen production.
GLOWY SKIN TIPS ;
use a cleansing balm to cleanse ur face to remove all the impurities from ur skin
use serums to hydrate ur skin
lather on moisturizer, dont put too much to the point where ur skin cannot produce its own oils, but you MUST moisturize
apply sunscreen everyday, not only on ur face but also on ur neck and hands
face masks 1-2x a week
get enough sleep, drink enough water, and steer clear of overly processed foods
SKINCARE DOESNT STOP AT UR CHIN ;
its important to take care of the skin on ur neck for SO many reasons because skincare doesnt stop at ur chin. ur neck reflects the first signs of aging, and its most susceptible to sun damage so show it some love!
use the same products that u use on ur face on ur neck also, moisturize ur neck and always apply sunscreen, lastly, use some retinol to build collagen.
HOW TO APPLY RETINOL ;
when applying retinol, use a pea sized amount. avoid application around ur eyes and the openings in ur nose, and use retinol in ur night skincare routine only.
HOW OFTEN TO USE SKINCARE ;
retinol should be used nightly (1-2x a week for beginners). hyaluronic acid should be used (2x a day). salicylic acid should be used (1-2x a week). sunscreen should be applied daily, no need to apply it at night and if u can, you should reapply it every 2-3 hours. vitamin C (1x a day in the morning).
SERUMS FOR UR SKIN-TYPE ;
for oily skin use -> salicylic acid, niacinimide and mandelic acid.
for dry skin use -> hyaluronic acid, ceramides and lactic acid.
for normal skin use -> vitamin C, glycolic acid, and retinol.
for aging skin use -> peptides, retinol and vitamin C.
for acne prone skin use -> salicylic acid, retinol, and niacinimde.
for combination skin use -> mandelic acid, niacinimide, and glycolic acid.
WHAT TYPE OF FACEMASK IS BEST FOR YOU ;
cream masks are good for all skin-types and it soothes and moisturizes. clay masks are good for oily or acne prone skin and it absorbs oil and controls shine. charcoal masks are good for oily or acne prone skin, and it deep cleanses and unclogs.
sheet masks are good for all skin-types, it nourishes and hydrates. enzyme masks are good for all skin-types and it gently exfoliates and brightens the skin. bubble masks are good for all skin-types and it hydrates and soothes.
gel masks are good for all skin-types and it provides a cooling effect. exfoliating masks are good for all skin-types BUT if u have sensitive skin then exfoliating masks are not for you. exfoliating masks remove dead skin cells and debris.
HOW TO LAYER UR SKINCARE ;
in the morning (cleanser + toner + hydrating serum + vitamin c + moisturizer + sunscreen) in the evening (double cleanse + toner + hydrating serum + retinol + moisturizer)

Do you have any tips related to skin care?
hi angel! thank you for asking about skincare 🌸 i've been meaning to write a detailed guide about this! here's everything i've learned about achieving that dreamy, glazed-skin glow…
mindy's guide to achieving your dream skin
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
by mindy ♡ @glowettee
understanding your canvas:
before diving into products, let's talk about what your skin actually needs. your skin is delicate and deserves to be treated like the finest silk. here's how to start:
morning routine (in order):
gentle cleanse with lukewarm water
hydrating toner (pat, don't rub!)
vitamin c serum (wait 1 minute)
lightweight moisturizer
sunscreen (non-negotiable!)
evening routine (the dreamy part):
double cleanse (oil cleanser then gentle foam)
treatment (rotate between these)
monday/thursday: exfoliation
tuesday/friday: retinol
wednesday/saturday: hydrating treatments
sunday: rest day
essence (tap in with fingertips)
moisturizer
facial oil (if needed)
my holy grail products (that won't break the bank):
cleansing balm: heimish all clean balm
gentle cleanser: la roche posay toleriane
toner: laneige cream skin refiner
vitamin c: timeless 20% vitamin c
moisturizer: illiyoon ceramide ato cream
sunscreen: beauty of joseon rice + probiotics
secret tips i've learned:
sleep with a silk pillowcase
change pillowcases twice a week
apply products to damp skin
keep skincare in the fridge
use facial ice globes in the morning
drink spearmint tea for hormonal breakouts
practice face massage techniques
lifestyle changes that transformed my skin:
drinking 2.5 liters of water daily
getting 8 hours of sleep
eating more green vegetables
reducing dairy intake
managing stress through meditation
regular exercise (the glow is real!)
weekly sheet mask sessions
common mistakes to avoid:
harsh physical scrubs
hot water on face
touching face throughout day
skipping sunscreen
trying too many new products
over-exfoliating
sleeping with makeup on
creating your skincare sanctuary:
set up a dedicated space
use pretty containers
keep tools clean
maintain a skincare journal
take progress photos
emergency skin solutions:
sudden breakout: pimple patch + ice
dehydration: layered toner method
redness: centella products
dullness: gentle aha toner
sensitivity: skip actives, focus on healing
seasonal adjustments:
spring/summer:
lighter moisturizer
higher spf
more antioxidants
gentle exfoliation
fall/winter:
richer moisturizer
facial oils
humidifier
less exfoliation
note:
consistency over complexity
patience is key
listen to your skin
what works for others might not work for you
stress shows on skin
healing takes time
skincare is self-care
personal note:
i struggled with my skin for years before realizing that gentleness and consistency matter more than expensive products or complicated routines. your skin is unique and beautiful - treat it with love and patience. some days won't be perfect, and that's okay. focus on progress, not perfection.
sending you the softest hugs 🤍
love, mindy x
p.s. would you like a detailed post about my favorite face massage techniques? let me know in the reblogs/replies!

 Mina's guide— skincare tips.
Drink water, and lots of it.
Sunscreen, daily— this is to prevent sun damage and potential hyperpigmentation.
Sleep— at least eight hours is crucial. It’s called “beauty sleep” for a reason.
Frequently change your pillowcases— wash and change them every few days, and silk cases are very beneficial for skin and hair health.
Healthy habits— need I say more? What goes into your body reflects on the outside, so stick to natural foods, maybe try 80/20ing your diet.
Daily movement— this can be any form of physical exercise (walking, cardio, pilates, yoga, etc).
Revise your current skincare routine— how are the products you’re using affecting your skin positively or negatively, and have you been using them correctly?
Seek out professional opinions— make an appointment with a dermatologist, and make any necessary changes to your current routine to improve your overall skin health.
…and finally, be patient with yourself. Healthy skin isn’t an overnight thing. Be patient and consistent, don’t stress, and you’ll see results.

building a morning routine (of a getting out of a depressive episode girly)
wake up babe, it's time to be your most amazing self.
my morning routine has been sorely lacking... ok it's nonexistent at the moment. but i'm determined to live healthier for my mind & body.
this morning routine is optimized for my tuesdays, thursdays, & fridays since i have morning uni horseback riding lessons on mondays & wednesdays. you can change the order to fit your schedule!
this morning routine focuses on both physical and mental health since the two go hand-in-hand.
Tumblr media
don't snooze that alarm!
if you're like me, you love setting an alarm and hitting the snooze button every 5 minutes for a half hour past the original set time. it's time to end that habit. and even though i said don't snooze the alarm, its ok to do it once or twice. but i am putting a stop to doing it more than twice. put a limit on how may times you can snooze your alarm, or put your phone across your room at the end of the night (depending on what your goals are). another big tip is to move back your alarm by a half hour to give yourself a grace period and more time in the morning (original alarm set at 8? try 7:30).
2. get out of bed immediately!
now that you are awake, don't lay in bed staring at the ceiling contemplating going to the gym or scrolling on your phone telling yourself "just 5 more minutes". get up now. i know that's easier said than done so give yourself some motivation/excitement to get up like making coffee, picking out a cute outfit, playing with your pet, playing music, etc. whatever will motivate you specifically to get up and ready for the day.
3. make your bed
we all knew this step was coming. i hate reading this step in morning routines myself, but there is a reason i put this here. making my bed in the morning makes my bed look nice and neat, giving me a sense of accomplishment, but most importantly, less likely to get back in my damn bed. this step is about making things easier for yourself and starting your day off right. when i do this step i feel like a productive baddie (even if i just lazily pulled my bedding back into position). start your day off with a small win and a reason not to get back into those sheets!
4. workout/stretch
we are officially out of bed and ready to start our day! and let's be real with ourselves; we aren't going to make it to the gym every day of the week (maybe we accidently woke up late or are having a tough mental week). we have to be ready and kind to ourselves by having an ideal, realistic, and minimum plan. on an ideal day i would put a cute workout set on, go to my on-campus gym, do 20-30 minutes of cardio, lift weights for 30-40 minutes after, and do a cooldown stretch. on a realistic day i would put on my workout clothes and do a 30-40 minute at-home workout video. on a minimum effort day/rest day/mental health day i would do some light stretching/yoga in pjs for at least 5 minutes. we shouldn't beat ourselves up if we don't/can't do our ideal plan every day. that only sets yourself up for failure and disappointment.
5. get dressed
most people say to pick out your outfit the night before. and i say absolutely do this! but i don't most of the time, so make sure you give yourself enough time to pick out an outfit in the morning if you didn't plan one the night before!
6. breakfast & hydration
a nutritious breakfast and drinking enough water is important and this is another step that sets yourself up to have a good day. my go-to breakfast is a yogurt bowl, it gets in a lot of protein and is very versatile (as you can make it savory or sweet). this is also where i get majority of my fruit intake! skipping breakfast will only make you hungrier at night and more prone to overeat on sweets/junk later. do what's best for your future self.
7. hygiene and self-care
i hate brushing my teeth and almost immediately eating after, so i wait to brush my teeth until after breakfast. this is also when i'll wash my face/do my skincare, fix my hair, etc. I will also do my makeup if i decide i have enough time.
8. affirmations
the last step! set yourself up for success by talking to yourself positively. this is extremely important for people who are chronically negative to themselves and/or have low self-esteem. one thing to remember while doing affirmations is that if it sounds stupid, you need them the most. it only sounds stupid because you don't believe what you are telling yourself. trust the process, keep doing it, and soon you will start to believe it and it will no longer feel stupid or silly.
hopefully this helps! remember that it's ok if you don't manage to do everything. just do as much as you can and don't give up!
xoxo

You don't actually need that scalp brush.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If it's an investment you still may desire to purchase, then obviously go for it.
But just using your fingertips instead as a scalp massage mostly works even better in precision and it's obviously free.
This is how you scalp massage with your fingers efficiently:
(put product all over your hands)
(put product all over your scalp, make sure you lean forward to reach the back of your head as well and that you still have product on your tips at the end)
rub your skin in small circles using your tips or nails for at least 5 seconds. do as hard as you feel comfortable
move on a bit and continue until you finished your whole scalp (this can take some time)
What can you incorporate in your scalp massage?
in your shampoo routine (especially double cleansing)
oiling your hair / putting some sort of scalp care on
at night before bed
red light therapy

how would dry paw pads be treated? i know skyclan would probably steal coconut oil, but what about the other 4?
MEGA easy. So easy I would need to put it as a footnote in a bigger guide on "skincare" including rashes, balding, and pelt conditions.
Flax oil + beeswax or animal fat. Any one ingredient will moisturize, but combine flax oil and one of the other two to make a real lotion, leaning more heavily on the oil-side. It is that simple.

Why do new year resolution fail?
since its the new year many people decide to have goals for the year but by february 80% of people will have given up, here's some reasons why
your goals are too unrealistic - many people give themselves goals which are too big of change that they will not want to do for a long period of time and therefore easily give up for the comfort
your goals are too vague - for example many people want to lose weight as a resolution but this in of itself is too vague - how much weight? when do you want to stop? what milestones do you have for yourself?
you lack discipline - of course trying to change will have discomfort and many of us will feel like giving up and lose motivation, one resolution may be going to the gym but you may become too tried to continue and might just give up all together
you expect change fast - new year resolutions are for the WHOLE year - don't expect results in a week when your goal has a year deadline, this will just make you feel like what you're doing is pointless and you'll give up
so how do we actually try to stick to our goals?
break down big goals into smaller goals - if your goal is losing for example 10kg then set how much you hope to lose each month as a goal, after you lose a certain amount of weight let yourself have a reward
keep track - use a tracker or a planner to see if you're keeping in track for your goals
consistence > perfection - aim to be consistent every day over trying to aim 100% each day, this will just lead you to burn yourself out and for example it's better to study 3 hours a day than 7 hours one day a week as you'll have more information stuck in your head
give yourself rest days - you do not have to be perfect each day, giving yourself rest days helps you recharge and give yourself a boost for other days
remember change will not come overnight - just because you're not seeing results fast doesn't mean they won't come, you have a whole year for change and if something doesn't work then try something else

remember discipline > motivation and we all got this :)

Skincare Acids: A Guide to Healthy Skin
In the world of skincare, various acids play a pivotal role in promoting healthier and more radiant skin. These acids are used in products like serums, cleansers, and exfoliants. Let's explore a few of the most popular ones:
1. Hyaluronic Acid (HA):
Known for its powerful hydrating properties, hyaluronic acid can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. It helps the skin retain moisture, leaving it plump and supple.
2. Glycolic Acid:
A type of alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), glycolic acid is excellent for exfoliating the skin. It removes dead skin cells, unclogs pores, and can improve the appearance of fine lines and hyperpigmentation.
3. Salicylic Acid:
This beta hydroxy acid (BHA) is effective for treating acne and oily skin. It penetrates pores, exfoliates the inside of the follicles, and helps reduce inflammation.
4. Lactic Acid:
Another AHA, lactic acid is gentler than glycolic acid. It provides mild exfoliation, making it suitable for sensitive skin. It can improve texture and hydration.
5. Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid):
Although not a traditional acid, vitamin C is essential for brightening the skin, reducing hyperpigmentation, and protecting against free radicals. It promotes collagen production.
6. Retinoic Acid (Retin-A):
A derivative of vitamin A, retinoic acid is known for its anti-aging properties. It can improve fine lines, wrinkles, and skin texture. It may cause some initial irritation.
7. Azelaic Acid:
Effective for treating rosacea and acne, azelaic acid has anti-inflammatory and exfoliating properties. It can help reduce redness and hyperpigmentation.
8. Kojic Acid:
Often used in products designed to lighten skin, kojic acid can help fade dark spots and even out skin tone. It's a milder alternative to hydroquinone.
9. Ferulic Acid:
Often combined with vitamin C and vitamin E, ferulic acid has antioxidant properties that enhance the stability and effectiveness of other ingredients.
10. Mandelic Acid:
A gentler AHA, mandelic acid is suitable for sensitive skin. It can improve skin texture, reduce fine lines, and help with acne.
When incorporating acids into your skincare routine, it's essential to start slowly, use sunscreen daily, and consider your skin type and concerns. Consulting with a dermatologist or skincare professional can help you choose the right acids for your specific needs and ensure a safe and effective regimen. Remember that individual reactions may vary, so patch testing is a good practice when trying new products.

the digital girl guide to navigating the front page of the internet 💋🧚🏾‍♀️
I've always had this thing for the girls in the romcoms, you know, the ones working at the New York Times or Vogue. Watching them put together these gorgeous collections for their readers left me in AWE. I used to dream about being just like them. I even started writing just so I could someday be a journalist (she did not turn into a journalist, she works in marketing)
Fast forward a couple of years, and those print magazines we all knew are almost extinct.
What the hell?
Online magazines just don't capture the same essence as grabbing a fresh J-14 off the shelf. They’re too minimal (and I’m getting tired of minimalism)
So, I thought, why not create my own?
Introducing my latest ✨creation✨—a blend of passion and childhood aspirations. Behold the Digital Girl Guide, a thoughtfully curated blog, magazine, and personality hub for girls who resonate with it, those hungry for more knowledge and eager to accomplish greater things.
