assorted thoughts: caterina is fully 'korean' or whatever the thedas equivalent would be in this design, and clawed her way to the top of the crow food chain after years of work. their armor is something caterina forcibly incorporated to distinguish house dellamorte from the other crows, and a symbol of their status because they get it custom made or imported. of course race-equivalents do not really exist in thedas or this world but i also will never forget how gaider just implied (east) asian people don't exist in thedas because it just so happens that there are no asians on the continent of thedas (guy who forgot about boats) . explode and die. there's not the same kind of discrimination as exists irl ofc (and the dellamortes are actually treated fine, much better than a mage or elf) but a level of xenophobia against foreigners from a different continent. illario looks the least like her, and passes for being fully antivan, which changes how he is recieved by the other crows.

You see signs or hear about a promotion at your job or idk hearing your parents talk about giving you sum cash lol BUT THEN you check your bank account and it's the same amount or you didn't see anything, you didn't hear anything else from your parents and you get discharged like "oh wtvr. Didn't work. Nothing is happening" blah blah

as a shifting blog (yes it is 😭) let's take a shifting example & explanation for understanding and applying in shiftings case.

So you were trying to shift to your dr and you felt all the symptoms, lights, emotions and sensations that you are there, you affirmed,you did the method, you felt like you ARE there but you were still nervous to open your eyes, unsure if you shifted but you finally did open your eyes.... And it was your bubble reality (I call this shiz bubble reality deal with it 💀) THEN YOU GOT FRUSTRATED AND PUT LABELS ON THIS ATTEMPT AS A "FAILED ATTEMPT" AND ROLLED OVER AND CALLED IT A DAY.

My honest reaction if you've done anything like that:

First of all- why're you "TRYING"?? you're the one deciding here, you're the creator of your reality. No matter what kind of reality you're experiencing, you 🫵🏻 created it. Yes you did. And all those symptoms, yeah tbh it's fun to feel symptoms but they're just the effects on body and your body is NOT the one shifting so don't focus on it too much, use it as a placebo effect rather. if you get symptoms believe that they mean you're shifting/have shifted. You did all that affirming, visualizing and felt it, you were almost certain you shifted.. but the thing is you need to be FULLY certain instead of almost certain. No matter what you see, you keep having it in your mind/imagination. HERE'S WHY YOU DO NOT LOOK AT THE 3D FOR VALIDATION... CUZ IT IS LOOKING RIGHT BACK AT YOU RIGHT IN THE FACE FOR VALIDATIONNNN. you're the validation here.

4d is above 3d for a reason. Why we call it more real reality is because it is the one creating. Imagination is the creative mode, like a factory where it's all made. Physical world is just a reflection of it so what's more real bruh? A mirror? Absolutely not. So why would you look at it for validation. It's like wanting to put on mascara but you're putting it on the mirror and asking why it's not working. Cuz YOU ARE THE ONE WHO NEEDS TO CHANGEEE. if you are not even changing then don't even be upset that the 3d is still the same pls. Ofc it is cuz your core beliefs are still the same as well!

You don't look outside of you for validation when you're literally creating the outside from the inside (your imagination.)

It's like reading yesterday's news paper and expecting today's news.

A very important thing that clicked for me was when I Affirm/visualise/script wtvr, it's inevitable that I'm gonna get what I want so there's ABSOLUTELY NO REASON ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH TO CHECK THE 3D BRUH. it clicked for me that 3d is so ducking powerless 😮‍💨 unless ‼️ YOU give it power. It's ONLY a reflection of who you are, what you're being/your state. Idgaf, the law doesn't gaf. whatever you assume IS true.

So why are you letting 3d decide if you have it or not? If you shifted or not? If you stick to the fact that you do have it, NOT for the 3d to confirm, cuz that's inevitable, but for YOU. do it for you bro, do it for you. And OBVIOUSLY it's gonna be reflected in the physical IF YOU ARE STICKING TO THE NEW STORY. Don't go back and forth with "oh I have it" "no i don't FML" "i am in my dr" "when will I shift from this reality? It sucks" YOU CAN'T SERVE TWO MASTERSSSS

So stop looking at the 3d for validation cuz you're the one who created and is creating it. Even if you open your eyes here- no you didn't. No you DID NOT. You're literally in your DR, wtf are you talking about? You're literally slaying. I am in my dr cuz I said so. Idgaf what 3d says.

I think it’s good to remember Jimmy doesn’t revel in others misery more so feels less miserable when people are as unhappy as he is. The acts he does do not bring him any pleasure, it’s more so the ending effect and reward and even then he’s not exactly happy just content in not feeling lesser.

It’s very easy to characterize his behavior as something cartoonishly villainous and cathartic and, while their is some catharsis there, it is ultimately the case of him acting out deep internalized feelings and frustrations against other people (possibly even himself) that he doesn’t necessarily like doing or even feel relief doing.

It’s both a conscious and unconscious behavior of his that too often gets chalked up to “Jimmy likes/gets off to tormenting others” and it’s a little one note to what is actually displayed in game.

The guitar! The guitar belonging to the Twins’ abusive father and passing it onto Sammie! The one that to Smoke represents a generational curse and something they should shun and bury. He and Stack couldn’t cut the pain out of themselves, nor the struggles they’ve experienced as Black men in America, but Smoke thinks he can prevent it from being spread, if only Sammie will give up the Blues, become a respectable musician, and bury that fucking guitar.

Passing on the guitar is indicative of the older generation passing down trauma and history, but it’s also providing tools of transformation. Smoke and Stack couldn’t make anything of the guitar, nor spin their pain into art, but Sammie could.

In Sammie’s hands, that curse, the pain they carry becomes music and connection. Sammie has a way to process their suffering and struggle, and sings about love, sings about his own strained relationship with his father, and sings about the pull he feels between propriety and passion. He sings about culture. The guitar is more than just their family history, it’s their people’s history, and while Sammy cannot erase history, neither can he ignore it; he refuses to bury the guitar.

The idea Smoke pushes Sammie toward is that if it’s possible, it’s a blessing to cast off our painful, ugly history. To escape that history is to find freedom in the world.

But Sammie disagrees. He inherits the same history as them, the same connection to the evil of his uncle, the same ancestry and the guitar. Instead of running from it, trying to assimilate and be a ‘proper’ Black man as Smoke insists, he leans into his heritage, leans into all that impropriety, that history, and rebuilds that fucking guitar. The haunting instrument that’s brought them so much trauma and trouble, that Sammie set aside for so long—it’s been tucked away in a case as he aged, but was never let go of. It’s always ready to be played, always within arms reach. His pain, his past, his people, Sammie carries them with for the rest of his life.
