hey angel! thank you for this question in my mailbox! and ahhhh thank you so much you're so sweet!! i'm sorry this post was a little late, self-care is soooo important, i want to give you some tips that you don't hear to often that i do in my self-love journey! i'll share some not-so-obvious self-love practices that literally changed my life! ♡

♡ redefining your space psychology because your environment shapes your self-perception:

bedroom makeover with intention:

rearrange furniture to face the sunrise (this literally changed my morning mindset!)

create a "victory wall" with tiny achievements (i put up a photo of my first B- grade that turned into an A-)

place mirrors strategically (not just for selfies, but for daily affirmations)

use color psychology (i painted one wall rose quartz pink in my room and it actually improved my mood)

create a dedicated self-love corner (mine has fairy lights, positive letters from friends, and little trinkets from my childhood, along with printed photos from pinterest with self-love affirmations/lists.

♡ morning practices instead of basic routines, try these instead:

the "main character energy" morning:

write how your day went (successfully) and about yourself in third person (like "mindy gracefully picked up her pen, to conquer calculus, she did all her chores, and even studied japanese for 2 hours.")

practice "mirror dating" (spend 5 mins having an actual conversation with yourself - it's weird but works!)

create a "today i choose" list (instead of a to-do list)

dance to one song before doing anything else (i do taylor swift, or newjeans obviously)

write a love letter to a body part you're struggling with (i wrote to my uncooperative hair and now we're besties <3)

♡ digital self-love (but make it intentional) because we live online but need boundaries:

phone transformation:

change your passwords to affirmations (mine is a variation of "mindyisworthy2025")

create a folder of your awkward photos (embrace the cringe! and laugh with your friends, its so fun)

record yourself modeling, or pretending your a celebrity or k-pop idol

take selfies without filters (document your real smile)

set random alarms with love notes to yourself

hide little sticky notes with cute reminders about yourself in your room, so when you stumble upon it a month later it'll make you smile!

social media rebellion:

post the photos you'd usually delete (even if it's made private)

share your real study space (messy notes and all)

document your growth journey (even the uncomfortable parts)

create a finsta for your completely unfiltered self

make reels about your self-love journey (even if they're private)

♡ physical self-love (the weird but effective version) not basic bubble baths:

unexpected body appreciation:

thank your body parts for specific things ("thank you hands for letting me write my study notes")

have a private dance party in weird places (i do this in elevators when i'm alone)

wear your prettiest clothes to study, or even to the grocery store (even if no one sees)

make up your own choreography to your favorite songs

make your own workout or stretching routine with different stretches/exercises you make up yourself

comfort zone expansion:

try eating alone in public (start small - i began with coffee shops)

wear that "special occasion" outfit to class

speak up in class even if your voice shakes

send yourself flowers to your dorm/apartment (I LOVE DOING THIS EVERY VALENTINES <33)

take yourself on cute dates (let a coin flip decide where you go! or ask google.)

♡ emotional archaeology dig deeper than surface-level feelings:

create an emotion museum:

keep a "weird thoughts" journal (mine has my 3am existential questions)

make a playlist for each mood (even the uncomfortable ones)

collect "emotional souvenirs" (me and my grandmother had a cafe date a few years ago, and i still keep the receipt today)

document your crying sessions (trust me, looking back at these helps)

write letters to your past and future self

validation exercises:

practice saying "my feelings about this are valid" in the mirror

create a "proof of worth" folder on your phone

collect screenshots of nice messages

record yourself giving pep talks

keep a "wins" journal (especially tiny ones)

♡ advanced self-love techniques for when you're ready to level up:

relationship building with yourself:

schedule weekly "self-dates" (i do wednesday coffee dates with myself)

create a personal manifesto (update it monthly)

develop inside jokes with yourself

celebrate monthly self-love anniversaries

create traditions just for you

growth documentation:

take progress polaroids (not just physical)

voice record your daily thoughts

measure growth in unconventional ways (like "times i chose myself")

create time capsules every season

write monthly letters to yourself

self-love isn't just face masks and bubble baths (though those are nice too!). it's about building a deep, weird, wonderful relationship with yourself. it's about becoming your own best friend, confidante, and biggest supporter.

some of these might seem strange at first, but that's okay! the best relationships often have their quirks. start with what feels right and slowly expand your comfort zone. it's not just about practicing self-love, it's also about creating your own unique love language with yourself!

you're doing amazing things just by being you, and i'm so proud of you for prioritizing this journey! remember, the relationship you have with yourself sets the tone for every other relationship in your life.

LETTERS FROM AN AMERICAN

At 10:19 last night, White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller posted on social media: “Stand with ICE. Pass the B[ig] B[eautiful] B[ill].”

And there it is. The Republicans’ “One Big, Beautiful Bill” is the MAGA regime’s attempt to replace the American government we’ve had since the 1930s with one that reflects the antidemocratic values of Project 2025. The measure is unpopular. According to a new CBS News/YouGov poll, 60% of Americans think the bill will help wealthy people, while 54% think it will hurt poor people. Forty-seven percent think it will hurt the middle class, while only 31% think it will help the middle class. As Simon Rosenberg of Hopium Chronicles noted, it’s “[s]tunning how badly Trump and the Rs have lost the debate on what their reconciliation bill will do.”

The measure changes the nature of the American government by extending tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations and adding significantly more money to immigration enforcement and defense spending. According to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, the measure will add as much as $2.4 trillion to the deficit over ten years; with interest costs of that new debt, the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget concluded the measure would increase the debt by nearly $3 trillion.

At the same time that it moves money upward and into the white nationalist project of expelling immigrants, the measure guts federal policies and agencies that serve the American people, apparently with the goal of pushing such policies and agencies to the states. The CBO estimates that as many as 13.7 million Americans will lose healthcare coverage if the measure passes, and cuts of nearly $300 billion from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will mean cuts of about 30% to the programs on which millions of Americans depend.

Miller’s post underscores the administration’s need to change the conversation around the measure, whose 1,000-plus pages lay out the MAGA vision for the United States. “Don’t kid yourself,” Senator Brian Schatz (D-HI) posted. “[T]hey know they are absolutely getting cooked politically w[ith] their terrible bill and rising prices, and they want to create a violent spectacle to feed their content machine. It’s time for the mainstream media to describe this authoritarian madness accurately.”

Maanvi Singh of The Guardian put the right lens on events in Los Angeles today, noting “Trump’s dramatic escalation” and his vow “to crush opposition to his immigration raids.” Singh identified the administration’s escalation as the trigger for “a roaring backlash.”

Singh noted federal agents carried out arrests in L.A. without judicial warrants and that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been holding families in the basements of federal buildings, refusing them access to lawyers and family members. Agents in riot gear attacked protesters with tear gas and flash-bang grenades, turning peaceful protests into clashes.

Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller called the protests an “insurrection,” and last night Trump activated at least 2,000 members of California’s National Guard over the protests of California governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass. Just after midnight this morning, Trump posted: “Looking really bad in L.A. BRING IN THE TROOPS!!!”

Administration officials are continuing their emphasis on spectacle and performance to try to bring popular opinion back their way. CNN’s Brian Stelter reported today that television personality Dr. Phil McGraw and his camera crew were embedded with ICE during the raids.

According to Dr. Phil’s right-wing TV channel, he was there “to get a first-hand look at the targeted operations.” He also had “exclusive” access to Tom Homan, the man known as Trump’s “border czar,” and recorded interviews with him before and after the L.A. sweeps.

But that, too, is spectacle. As Josh Marshall of Talking Points Memo notes, Homan and Miller are the public face of border enforcement and anti-immigrant policies. But Homan is not part of ICE. He is a White House advisor, working in a civilian capacity. And yet, as Marshall records, he has taken to showing up before the cameras “in either faux military uniforms or, in most cases, civilian garb clearly meant to appear like military-style fatigues along with a ever-changing run of camo or olive drab baseball caps.”

Trump seems happy to let these White House officials take the lead in the immigration performance. On Saturday, Homan threatened to arrest anyone who obstructed immigration enforcement, refusing to exempt L.A. mayor Bass or California governor Gavin Newsom. Newsom responded: “What the hell is this guy? Come after me, arrest me. Let’s just get it over with. Tough guy. You know? I don’t give a damn, but I care about my community. I care about this community. The hell are they doing? These guys need to grow up, they need to stop, and we need to push back, and I’m sorry to be so clear, but—that kind of bloviating is exhausting. So, Tom, arrest me. Let’s go.”

As he arrived back at the White House this morning after spending the weekend at Camp David, Trump told reporters: “I would do it if I were Tom. I think it’s great…. I think it would be a great thing. He’s done a terrible job.” Homan does not have the authority to arrest anyone. Using him to threaten to arrest a governor enables Trump to make the threat while also being able to deny that he made it.

Although members of Congress have legal authority to enter ICE detention facilities to conduct oversight, Jesus Jiménez, Chelsia Rose Marcius, and Nate Schweber of the New York Times reported that over the weekend, five members said officials barred them from doing so. New York Democratic representatives Adriano Espaillat and Nydia Velázquez say they were prevented from checking on the well-being of those detained in New York. In California, Democratic representatives Maxine Waters, Jimmy Gomez, and Norma Torres were turned away from the Metropolitan Detention Center in downtown Los Angeles.

Waters said she was trying to see David Huerta, the popular president of the Service Employees International Union California, who was injured when officers threw him to the ground and arrested him on Friday. Huerta’s arrest has mobilized union workers to protest the immigration sweeps, and today the Department of Justice announced it was charging him with felony conspiracy to impede an officer, which carries a maximum penalty of six years in federal prison. Crowds gathered in Washington, D.C., as well as in L.A. to call for Huerta’s release, and this evening he was released from custody on a $50,000 bond.

In a statement following his arrest, Huerta said: "What happened to me is not about me. This is about something much bigger. This is about how we as a community stand together and resist the injustice that’s happening. Hard-working people, and members of our family and our community, are being treated like criminals. We all collectively have to object to this madness because this is not justice. This is injustice. And we all have to stand on the right side of justice.”

Today Mayor Bass reminded protesters that “LA has a proud history of peaceful protests for immigrants rights.” She called for them to “continue that legacy—don’t fall into the Trump Administration’s trap. Protest peacefully. Looting and vandalism will not be tolerated.” She added: “Trump didn’t inherit a crisis—he created one. To those stoking the fire of lawlessness and chaos alongside him—LA will hold you accountable.” Observers today said the L.A. protests, most of which take place within a five-block radius, are overwhelmingly peaceful, characterized by Tejano music and celebrations of local culture.

This afternoon, a government official told Reuters that it is deploying about 700 Marines to Los Angeles until Wednesday. Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) said: “Here’s what you need to know about what’s going on in Los Angeles. The state and city have the means to control the protests. Donald Trump is getting involved to intentionally make the situation more violent. And potentially to create a pretext for some sort of martial law.”

David Dayen of The American Prospect posted: “The correct way to connect the authoritarian presence in LA and the Big Beautiful Bill is that the bill gives the government the resources to do this in dozens of cities at once. So if you don't like what's happening in LA, it's coming to your town if the bill passes.”

Today, California attorney general Rob Bonta and Governor Newsom sued Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth for their order to federalize the California National Guard without authorization from the governor and against the wishes of local law enforcement, calling it “an inflammatory escalation unsupported by conditions on the ground.” They have asked the court to set aside the order, calling it unlawful.

In addition to being unlawful, it appears the deployment was not terribly well thought through. Matthias Gafni of the San Francisco Chronicle reported tonight that the National Guard troops sent by Trump to Los Angeles received no federal funding for food, water, fuel, equipment, or lodging. Gafni shows a photo of “wildly underprepared” troops sleeping in their clothes on a cement floor. Nonetheless, Trump called another 2,000 California National Guard troops into federal service today “to support ICE.”

Jamelle Bouie of the New York Times looked around at events and wrote: “what i see is a white house whose ambitions outstrip its resources, who did not count on facing mass resistance, and which is scrambling to escalate the situation in hopes that a display of force will make people shut up.”

This evening, Trump posted on social media a photograph of what appeared to be border patrol and ICE agents with the caption: “THE ONE, BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL Boosts Border Patrol and ICE Agents on the Frontlines with the Largest Border Security Investment in History.”

Governor Newsom said: “U.S. Marines serve a valuable purpose for this country—defending democracy. They are not political pawns. The Secretary of Defense is illegally deploying them onto American streets so Trump can have a talking point at his parade this weekend. It’s a blatant abuse of power. We will sue to stop this. The courts and Congress must act. Checks and balances are crumbling. This is a red line—and they’re crossing it. WAKE UP!”

Also tonight, about 400 people turned out in Dallas, Texas, against ICE in solidarity with Los Angeles. At about 9:40 p.m. Dallas police said the protest was an unlawful assembly. At 10:15, officers moved in with pepper spray and smoke to disperse the crowd.

A final note: While the oxygen in the country was taken up by the administration's escalations, Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. today got rid of all 17 of the members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices that advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Kennedy, who has taken a public stand against vaccines, told the Senate in his confirmation hearings that he would not change existing vaccine approval systems. But in an op-ed published today in the Wall Street Journal, he said “a clean sweep is needed to re-establish public confidence in vaccine science.”

Laura Unger and Amanda Seitz of the Associated Press report that Kennedy intends to replace the fired committee members with his own picks.

TILE TRANSITION TUTORIAL

a couple of people have asked me for a tutorial on how I did the penultimate gif in this set, so here goes! this is my first tutorial, so please feel free to reach out with further questions if anything's unclear.

note: this tutorial assumes you know the basics of gifmaking, can create the base gifs, and are familiar with timeline mode.

STEP ONE: create the base gifs! I'd recommend staying between 25-40 frames for each gif, since the transitions we'll use later tend to increase gif sizes. these are the ones I'll be using for this tutorial:

STEP TWO: create the guide layouts for both base gifs. for this panel, I chose a 4x4 grid — I would recommend keeping the number of "tiles" low because it can get tedious, but have a minimum of 9 (3x3 grid).

now your canvas should look like this:

STEP THREE: create the tiles. this is where the going gets rough; there might be easier ways to do this that I couldn't think of 😭 if there are any please send me an ask!

essentially, in this step we'll cut up the base gifs into smaller squares so that each tile can be manipulated separately when we put both gifs together. to do this, first create a square using the rectangle tool and the guides. then duplicate the base gif, move it above the square, apply a clipping mask, and then convert the clipped gif and square (selected in the image below) into one smart object.

ALTERNATELY: you could duplicate the original base gif and use layer masks to isolate tiles. create a layer mask for the duplicated gif layer and, with the layer mask selected, drag your mouse over a square (using the guide layout) and press delete. then press ctrl/cmd + i to invert the layer mask so that the gif only shows in the square of your choosing.

now repeat until you've got the entire gif in tiles, and do the same for the other gif!

since the transition effect is achieved by staggering the crossfades for each tile of the final gif, you can cheat by having multiple tiles "flip" at a time, ideally no more than four. this means you need to cut the base gif up into fewer pieces. to do this, simply draw multiple squares instead of one and then merge the shapes, before duplicating and clipping the gif onto them.

if you do this, it's essential to remember that you have to divide both gifs up in the exact same way. each piece of the b/w gif has to correspond to a piece of the purple gif!

this is what the layers look like for each gif once I'm done:

I have them lettered so that it'll be easier to match them up in the next step.

STEP FOUR: this is the complicated bit that took me two days to figure out. I'll do my best to explain but don't hesitate to reach out if something isn't clear!

to begin, open up a new psd and import both base gifs into it. (remember to click "create video timeline" and ensure that your gifs are all in order before proceeding.)

now, the trickiest part about this transition is ensuring that all the little tiles sync up so that the larger gif is coherent. so first we'll create some markers (just empty layers) to ensure that everything lines up as it should. — marker 1: at about halfway through the first gif (b/w in this case) — marker 2: at about a quarter of the gif length — marker 3: close to the end of the gifs

at this point we're ready to start bringing in the tiles. I'm going to delete the base gifs from this new psd just to keep things cleaner!

first thing to do is import my b/w tile. move the timeline slider over to marker 1 and split the first gif. (if it helps, rename the split gifs and add (start) and (end) to the two halves.) then, move the (end) half to the beginning of the timeline, and the (start) half to line up with marker 3.

the purple tile is easier to manage. simply import it into the psd and line it up with marker 2.

your timeline should now look like this:

notice the overlap between the gifs at their beginnings and ends — this is where you'll be able to cascade the tiles flipping, so it helps to have a significant amount of overlap.

crop the three gifs for this tile as you see fit! since this is the first tile I want to flip from b/w to purple, I'll crop gif 1a (end) all the way to the current position of the timeline slider (red line with blue tip) and leave the beginning of gif 2a uncropped. for the flip from purple to b/w, I'll crop both gifs a bit.

once that's done, drag all three gifs onto the same level in timeline so they form a video group. your timeline should look something like this:

now you just repeat the process for all the other tiles! as long as you made sure that all the tiles in one gif correspond with tiles in the other gif in step three, this should be a fairly painless process. make sure to crop the starts/ends of the gifs separately so that they don't all flip together.

this is what my layers look once I've done all the tiles:

STEP FIVE: transitions! click on the half-white square (top right of the left column in the timeline, beside the scissors) and select the crossfade transition, then drag it between two gifs in a video group. it should create a two-triangle symbol and shorten the overall length of the video group.

apply the transition to all the tile flips, ensuring that the duration of all transitions is constant. this can sometimes be tricky because ps likes to change the duration of each transition, so right click on the transition symbol and manually change all your transition durations to be the same.

your layers should now look something like this:

OKAY NEATH! FANS LISTEN UP

(analysis of Mr. Pages verse of the MV that I spent a while creating coming up)

I just showed Down Here In London to my singing teacher and luckily for us she a) has a bigger monitor than the phone screen I usually watch Neath! on and b) is heckin' smart, and instantly figured out "pridesolated" as pride + isolated. Which totally checks out! Byron is infact both of those things!

"Promtscivious" is a bit of a difficult one. I didn't ask my teacher what she saw in this one, but she studied it for a moment, and based on her reaction, and my own analysis I assumed she found either promiscuous or prostitution - either of which could be there, but I believe that promiscuous is much more likely. Mischievous is also definitely in there. What I'm uncertain about is to whether there are two words, or three. It's not quite spelled like promiscuous + mischievous, and while that could just be a spelling error (intentional or otherwise) it could also be another word nestled in there.

"Posthumorous" is clearly posthumous + humorous. I'm not quite so sure what this is saying. Posthumous refers to the fact that Harry is dead, and humorous... I'm not quite sure. I mean, I know what the word means, but I don't see why it would apply to specifically Harry moreso than any of the others...

As for what the heck "maudlimiquitous" means, we're still totally lost.

But there's more we can learn from the music video!!

For one, according to the census forms, the ministry representative is named "Stuart Pendium"

While other forms can be seen, none of them are readable.

Additionally, many things on the table are connected via red string. Cassie is the one with the most connections (two strings pass by the pin on her picture, as opposed to the one that everyone else has). By the string connecting Harry and Bob is a scrap of paper with the words "Met with" written on it (likely meaning that the two have met each other at some time). Due to the positioning, one could read it as adding onto Honest Bob's word, making it "Met with Maudlimiquitous" (likely unintentional, but not entirely impossible). In between Byron and Cassie is a scrap of paper with "Fell impassionated with" written on it. There is a pin stuck in it, and the Cassie - Byron string passes through it. There is also another scrap of paper, which isn't attached to any string, and isn't near anyone in particular, but can be found above Byron's head. It seems to say "Regrets mee[ting]..."

There's more stuff I could mention, but this is already long and stuff and I'm tired.

The PR Stunts’ Revenge

When are you all going to realize that Viscuso is present to public events and they continue this circus, because Viscuso and Cavill have interest in showing her off with a fake title for what she’s not. They need to reverse the bad publicity she had for accepting being his PR. It became a matter of honor. In a certain way, Cavill is now, obligated to reverse the situation.

And, whoever put these two together had that in mind and the plan to demand from him a rep repair for Viscuso. It was a scheme against him and he didn’t see it coming. But, it wouldn’t have happened if he wasn’t a Hollywood escort. Yes! The circus continues basically, because Cavill wants to, because he needs to repair Viscuso’s rep.

She was always promiscuous, exhibitionist, but never that public. The attention she has now, is because of Cavill. If her bl*w j*b photo had come public before her PR stunt, no one would even know about it, no one would care. It wouldn’t be that scandalous, for she’s a nobody. She didn’t care to be in it nor pose for that photo. But, it came out when she was playing the role of the girlfriend of a conservative celeb, Superman. Of course, it would be a scandal. Scheme! Now, he can and will do this for life if he has to, because, HIS rep was committed when he accepted escorting a slut to boost his Ego.

All that “hate” movement and harassments” addressed to fans and followers came from HIS own team by blocking followers on his page, posting the FO letter, dividing the fandom and creating hostile and fake pages on IG, adopting narcissistic strategies as damage control, while trying to fix the mess they’ve done, all because Cavill has now, to give a promiscuous a clean profile. Otherwise, they screw his. That was her side’s intention all along. And, Cavill was the perfect duck.

Have you asked why it was necessary for an actor like Cavill, to have this kind of malicious and narcissisttic promotion, because of a PR stunt? Why was it necessary to create all that circus for a simple PR stunt that initially, aimed to boost his image? It was clearly not their intention to have Viscuso in so many public events. She was not prepared to be seen in formal professional events. She’s trashy and very vulgar, proven promiscuous.

But, whoever planned this had the intention for a revenge teaching him a lesson, while bringing her to evidence. And, he got used to her. So used to her presence, he could even have gotten sexually involved, for it would help him be more comfortable with her and stage the plot more easily.

Nor he intended to take this farce for so long. But, something occurred that made it necessary. First, the @exposing_henrycavill page. Later, Viscuso’s bl*w j*b photo, which was a strike on his integrity. The page could be a push to force him to continue with this PR stunt. The bl*w j*b photo was a strong reason to force him to promote Viscuso to a next level. But, Viscuso still remains “partner” or “girlfriend” on tabloids. Why? Because, I have the impression someone wants him to publicly commit to a fake marriage.

The photo exposed Viscuso publicly, when already playing the celeb PR and the narrative is: It was an action of jealous people, because she was his PR stunt. She’s being harassed for being his girlfriend. She’s not being negatively exposed for who she is, but for being his girlfriend, right? So, accepting being his PR stunt was what exposed her and made HIM responsible for her exposure, right? It’s a sordid, but brilliant plan to trap a duck.

But, Viscuso could also have been made a fool. Whoever was initially, behind her promotion wasn’t professional nor had  morals. This person could be using Viscuso  to destroy Cavill, who managed to bring Viscuso to his side and his team assumed Viscuso’s promo, starting a change on her image, deleting many, many of her posts on IG, turning her IG into an extension of Cavill’s. That’s how she became his Godsent, being promised the same, but with class and style. It was all predicted by who planned this. Because, I don’t really believe Viscuso was taking this PR stunt really seriously, until this change.

The person knew Cavill, was going to be intimidated by the possibility of being exposed even more and would chicken out, doing what they intended: Having a promiscuous gain a new profile, while promoted as his wife. @exposing_henrycavill, could have been created to force Cavill into this. Both page and photo seem part of a bigger revenge plan.

It was clear his team intentionally wanted to create a buzz to hide something and deviate attention. And, this PR stunt ended up becoming a circus and entertaining. That’s what Cavill is holding on to. But, the true reasons behind it, could expose something much darker. Cavill still hides something he doesn’t wanna come out. And, the bl*w j*b photo and @exposing_henrycavill could have the answer.

After this page, 2 other were fastly created as a diversion, exposing DG and Viscuso. I suppose to discredit the first, which was later, taken down, disappearing from IG. In a sequence, the other two pages remained, but inactive. It was clear the two were created to discredit the first. But, there was still the bl*w j*b photo, which was viral, posted and reposted. That one, they weren’t able to delete from the internet.

Some people think that what Cavill hides is a psychiatric condition, that he could be in the autism spectrum. That’s not a condition to be ashamed of and, if he is, that never avoided him from being successful. I don’t think that is a strong reason for all that buzz with this circus. But, a moral obligation to save this woman’s rep has been inputted to him and exposing this PR stunt for what it is could be much more shameful to him than being in the spectrum. The result would be devastating.

He would be completely discredited as a man and humiliated, rumors would suggest a sexual orientation, many of the still blind fans would lose their admiration and would be very disappointed, he would lose a lot, much more than he has already lost, for meanwhile, he still manages to decease some. And, the consequences would be harmful to Viscuso, as well. She would finally be reduced to the promiscuous with no talent she is and many more people would destroy her.

But, they are playing with fire when teasing and gaslighting people. Because, the line that can be crossed from the fake circus to the truth is so, so tenuous, it will massively, destroy both. Cavill will do everything in his power to avoid crossing that line. He’s a coward by nature, for he is emotionally weak, what makes him the perfect duck to be manipulated. And, he has a lot to lose. Viscuso will go through a major shame, but she has nothing to lose.

This woman is a nobody, who now, more than ever, needs to be promoted as a somebody to save Cavill’s image. So, it’s not enough to just write articles giving her fake titles. They need to transform her into something she’s not and convince the public (not the Industry, which knows who she is) that she’s a VP, an exec producer, when she actually, just looks like a slut having some fun around corridors of production companies in-between bl*w j*bs.

They can take this PR forever. Cavill can accept announcing a fake marriage, they can come up with a second pregnancy fallacy, she can be present in every public event he’s in from now on, but they will never convince this relationship is true and that this woman is a respectful professional in the Industry. She might be deluded thinking she left promiscuity. But, promiscuity will never leave her. It's printed on her image. Cavill can accept this PR for life, thinking he is using Viscuso to give criticism a response. But, what he’s actually doing is being manipulated to be a part in a sordid scheme.

But, who are we to know? Maybe, he is already married to Viscuso, the promiscuous is the real love of his life and all this circus was to introduce his m*str*ss in an immoral, malicious way, with his consent, to his fandom. In one way or the other, accepting to play one or the other (husband or escort), this guy is a complete idiot.

hi i have a music question that feels really simple but…. what does it mean when something is in the key of X…. there’s only so many notes i feel like the combinations of them cannot be that different??? unless being in the key of X means something that’s not just the combination of notes? i could google this but it’s more fun to ask a music person

So in western music theory we generally work in a twelve-tone system, meaning we divide octaves (the point at which a frequency doubles and it sounds ‘the same’ but higher or lower to our ears) into twelve approximately equal chunks. so we have these twelve tones available to us. and normally in western music we work in KEYS which are just scales made from those twelve notes. these tones are all a “half step” away from each other. we usually pick seven notes to make a scale.

the tones we have are C, C#/Db, D, D#/Eb, E, F, F#/Gb, G, G#/Ab, A, A#/Bb, and then B, after which you arrive at the next C up.

An example of a major scale (the most common scale in western music) would be composed of C, D, E, F, G, A, and B.

So what a KEY or SCALE is is essentially a collection of tones, creating a “tonality” when played together or combined to make harmony. what really makes a scale sound like what it does is the pattern of half (one tone) and whole (two tones) steps in that scale.

take the one from earlier: C, D, E, F, G, A, B, and the octave C. if you go back to the list of all twelve tones and count how many are between each of the notes in this “C major” scale. no tone between (such as between E and F, or B and C) means that space is a half step; one tone in between indicates a whole step.

if we diagram these out with W representing a whole step and H representing a half step, a MAJOR scale looks like: WWHWWWH. there are 7 letters because what we are diagramming is not the 8 notes of the scale but the 7 spaces between them. the spaces between pitches are called intervals. every major scale diagram will look like this — it’s a pattern that can be applied to any starting point. so when we say “C Major,” what we really mean is a major scale pattern beginning on C.

But wait, you’re saying, that’s one set of notes. and that’s not even using all the notes you have. this is where u can use your math brain! there are SO many possibilities for what a scale pattern could look like…scales do (mostly) have to go by either half steps or whole steps though otherwise thats just arpeggios (chords played with the notes separated).

for example: some of the most common western scales…

MAJOR: WWHWWWH

NATURAL MINOR: WHWWHWW

(there’s other kinds of minor but we won’t get into that now)

CHROMATIC: HHHHHHHHHHHH

(that’s just every note)

WHOLE TONE: WWWWWW (half the notes, all whole tones!)

where it gets really fun is when we circle back to your original question: what does it MEAN when something is *in* this key or that key?

nowadays, we work with something called Equal Temperament tuning — that’s what i mentioned earlier, where we divide the octave into 12 equal chunks. but that’s not how it always was! the whole point of a key or scale is to evoke a specific mood: at their simplest, major keys are supposed to sound “happy” and minor keys are supposed to sound “sad.” this has to do with where certain notes in the scale Want To Go. the last note of a scale before the octave always wants to go to the octave, for example. it just feels pushy when you hear it in that context.

so with instruments that do not have fixed tuning (i.e a violin or trombone: any instrument where you can “slide” between pitches) we, subconsciously or not, perform what is called “tempering” on certain notes to make them fit better within the mood that we’re trying to create. and the cool part is that before sine wave generators and standardized tuning, pitch was pretty relative between groups, provinces, towns, etc. an A in one place might have been an A# in another. so that’s one reason why to be “in” a key has historical/instrumental significance.

another reason is that historically, music didn’t “modulate” or move between keys very much, so fixed-pitch instruments— like pianos — were built to be tempered in one key. that was called ljust temperament” and it meant that there would be differences in the sound of the major pattern when you start it on different notes — the notes would no longer be tempered to the key they were in.

for example: in C major, the seventh note is B, and so we want that time to be a little higher to “push” to C more. But now imagine your instrument has that tempered B, and you’re trying to play in G major (G, A, B, C, D, E, F#, G). That B, or the “third degree” of that scale if you want to get fancy with it, will now be slightly too high, or sharp.

this meant that each of the 12 major keys literally did sound different even though the patterns were the same, something we have largely eliminated in fixed-pitch instruments now because as composers began to modulate between keys during pieces more, they wanted to be able to do that without it sounding gross and so they invented equal temperament tuning.

the historical significance of scale patterns and tuning is so so fascinating and i love it so much!!

one last fun fact: C major, they key i demonstrated with, is all the white keys on a piano keyboard. but basil, you’re saying, what if i play all the white keys but i start on a note that’s not C. QUICK! go back and look at the major and minor scale diagrams. THEY ARE THE SAME JUST PHASE SHIFTED. minor is actually what we call a “mode” of major…starting the same pattern in a different place in the pattern (whereas a different key entirely is starting a pattern on a different note but the same place in the pattern).

so if minor is a mode of major, that means there are 5 other modes (scale degree 1, or in this case C, being just simply major)!!! 5 other modes just waiting to be explored!!

just for sillies… they are called

Ionian (Major) (Starting point: scale degree 1, in this case C): WWHWWWH

Dorian (2 or D): WHWWWHW

Phrygian (3 or E): HWWWHWW

Lydian (4 or F): WWWHWWH

they’re less common in classical music (you can find some in jazz, some in folk, etc) but they each have their own distinctive sound!

Seriously, El Toro de Piadro (or however it is spelled) had way too much (and way too little) going on at the same time. Like... lets list all the subplots in this cluttered mess of an episode:

A-plot: Ivan struggles to speak out against his father and learns how to speak up to Raoul, and not to become his father.

B-plot: Raoul's struggle with legacy and learning not to be like his own father (who he implies made him who he is today)

C-Plot: Kitty Section is trying to prepare for a show to honour Major Bustier, but technical difficulties are keeping Luka out of the show

D-Plot: Juleka is insecure about her singing voice and ability to play an accoustic non-base guitar

E-Plot: Adrien cant figure out what to do with all the boxes of his old stuff from before the renovation. And cant figure out how to feel about his dad

F-Plot: Ivan feels unworthy of his superhero status and has the worlds shortest retirement (Beating out the previous record set 3 episodes ago, by Sabrina.)

G-Plot: Marinette and Nathalie find a letter from Gabriel instructing his son to become the next Hawkmoth, Can we really trust adrien not to fall in his fathers footsteps.

H-Plot: Ivan needs to learn to find support in his friends rather then bottle his struggles up inside

I-Plot: Juleka and Rose have their first kiss.

J-plot: Mylene struggles to get Ivan to open up about his troubles. She worries and wants to help but doesnt know how to.

K-plot: Lila continues her ominous stalking and wants the miraculous as usual (normally i wouldn't count it, but given that they put a lot more work into the akumatisation scene then usual, and included two seperate Lila-stalking-in-the-shadows-moments, with the bench and the feet outside Raoul's bathroom door... Im counting it.)

L-plot: Marinette and Nathalie try to figure out wether or not to tell Adrien about his dad. (Also: the writers try to retcon the S5 climax to make it so that Nathalie is the one insisting on the secret and Marinette is the one advocating for telling Adrien the truth)

M-plot: Nathalie has a secret meeting with the creepy shadowcouncil (can we still trust Nathalie? note: im talking about the scene where marinette first tries to show her the letter, not the end-credits scene.)

N-plot: There is something called "Operation Perfect World", You should be scared about it

O-Plot: The diamond plan to get the 'ultimate lifeform' senti's to go Adam and Eve and create a race of magically-engineered Ubermensch is still on.

R-plot: Adrien slowly continues his continued decline into depression and slowly starts to buy into the gaslighting that his father truly was a good man.

S-plot: Mylene worries about Ivan going internal

T-plot: Every antagonist we've met up until now is revealed/implied to be subservient to this strange and ominous 'diamond' figure. Including Gabriel.

U-plot: The creepy shadowcouncil wants to take LB and CN's miraculous.

V-plot: Nathalie is planning to act as some kind of rogue/double-agent. Keeping the existence of the shadowcouncil a secret from Maribug while still working to run interference against the shadowcouncil.

W-plot: The implication that somehow, off-screen, Luka either quit or completed his teachings with the cult in Tibet and moved to Brazil. (note that they literally say he doesnt live in paris anymore. Not that he 'isnt in paris') X-plot: Juleka comes to terms with her father's rockstar legacy (because apparently that was a problem she was having.) Y-plot: Marinette has a gig as a Kittysection technical assistant, but supervillain strikes at the same time. Z-plot: Adrien has a gig as a member of Kittysection, but a supervillain strikes at the same time. (yes, im counting them seperately. Because unlike in Climatiqueen, they both clearly exit at different points in seperate scenes. By the time Adrien realises the supervillain is happening, Marinette is already Ladybug so this is a separate subplot) And even listing an entire alphabet's worth of subplots Im fairly certain i still missed a subplot or two. That is twenty-six subplots in a twenty-two minute episode. Like... in an episode this cluttered? It isnt even a suprise that its emotional beats all fail to land.

Leetspeak, hackspeak or leet- is the switch of a words letters with numbers or special characters. Leet is shortened from the word 'elite', which refers to the hackers who created and used the language in the 1980s.

It was originally created to communicate from person to person through this inside group, often used to disguise and mask illegal content.

To normal readers, taking time to understand the replacement between letters and numbers can be tricky. Below is a simplified guide to each letter and number switch;

H - His Aunt Cassie; whom he hasn’t spoken to since Christmas— when she called to fill him in on the current drama going on in their families personal lives. She is the only family member he even still speaks to. The latest dose of gossip was that his dad had been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer– nearly fifty years of smoking non filtered cigarettes will do that to you.

O - “Oh honestly, Ellie! What are you afraid he’ll find? Money hidden in the walls?” Aunt Cassie laughs at herself. “Any money Tom had went into alcohol, and Camels…” She pushes her seat back before Aunt Elise, or any of the other siblings can speak, tugging at Tommy’s arm as she gets up. “So I suggest you leave us a key hidden, or if it’s really that big of a deal be there around say… five o clock.”

S - Sure enough it’s still where he left it, under a tattered dusty old tarp. He grabs a handful and swiftly pulls it off, revealing the wrecked remains of his race car— a long since forgotten (more like repressed…) memory; a piece of his past that holds perhaps the most joy, but also the most pain…

T - Tommy turns around to look where Evan’s now pointing. His dads work bench, covered in junk and trash and boxes, and on one of the shelves… next to some empty beer bottle and a can filled with screws is a framed 8x10 of Tommy, a trophy held in front of him and a big smile missing his two front teeth. The words Victory Lane written on a banner behind him— his very first race and very first win. “Yeah… that was me.”

Tommy feels the sting of tears in his eyes, regardless. “I appreciate it, Howie… really.”

Tommy stiffens his jaw and forces a smile. “I really don’t…” he says with a slight shake of his head. Howie’s confusion melts away and he looks so sorry.

A - “A weekend at a ski resort up in Northern California.” He laughs harder when Tommy’s jaw nearly falls onto the counter. “Yeah I figured you and Buck could use a getaway… I had booked it for me Maddie and Jee but with the pregnancy—”

“Pregnancy?!”

“Jesus Christ,” Howie covers his face and groans. “I am so sorry, man! This is—”

“Confusing?” Tommy can’t help but laugh.

I - “I’m so happy for you,” Tommy says, patting Howie on the shoulder. They fall back into an awkward silence and Tommy has to make it worse by asking if Evan still went to the resort.

Howie’s demeanor shifts. He quietly slides his phone back into his pocket and nods. “Yeah. He— he did. I told him to take Eddie… or, hell anyone. But he insisted on going alone, and well…” He shifts uncomfortably, avoiding Tommy’s eyes. “That’s how he met Dylan…”

E - Eddie’s eyes soften. He looks up to Howie and sighs. For a moment Tommy thinks they are going to say something bad about the guy– it’s selfish and wrong… but he kind of is hoping for it. “He’s great, actually…” Howie finally says. “He’s no you… but I doubt Buck will ever find someone that will treat him the way that you did.” Tommy flinches at that, regardless of knowing what Howie meant. “Shit– No… that’s not what I–”

A - “Are you baking something?” Tommy asks, pushing down the smile wanting to surface at the image of Evan in his apron, covered in flour (preferably without a certain significant other clinging to him).

N - “Not that I mind talking to you, of course,” he adds because, well it’s the truth.

“Oh, r- right. Um… Well Chim was trying to get a head count for Thursday and well you— you haven’t…” he trails off again, then hisses in pain and Tommy is already halfway across his living room towards his keys. “S- Sorry,” Evan manages through a clearly clenched jaw. “It’s just my shoulder… it— it’s bothering me...”

“The one you hurt the other day?”

He hears Evan laugh. “Yeah, the— the cursed one… It’s fine.”

“Evan…”

L - “Lightning McJee, the protégé of the great Tommy Thunder!” Chimney quips and Buck has to bite his lips to not make a noise at that. He peeks up to see if Tommy is glaring at him… and he is. He blows him a kiss and flips the hamburgers.

U - “Uh…” He looks innocently at Tommy and bats his eyes. “Would you believe me if I said it’s about taxes?” Tommy’s hooded eyes give him his answer, and he laughs nervously. “Well… what if I say it’s a surprise… so you just have to wait and see.”

E - “Evan!” Tommy calls from the living room. Buck is busying himself baking the last of a batch of cookies, and stirring some box-made dirty rice– he is disgusted with himself for it, but he did not have time to perfect a homemade recipe…

Donald Trump: Potential Felon- In Chief?

Donald Trump has been convicted on 34 Felony Counts of falsifying Business Records in his attempt to hide his [past] infidelity during the 2016 Presidential Election. I'm not a Lawyer, so I don't understand what This Trial accomplished. Trump received a 'Scarlet Letter', but he's STILL the likely GOP Nominee for POTUS. Republican Leaders continue to Pledge their Allegiance, & Trump's MAGA Minions will likely double down on their efforts to put him back in Office. Just as Vladimir Putin survived 16,000 Sanctions, I see Donald Trump surviving this Conviction. In fact, he has reportedly raised $35M in the first 24hrs following his Conviction; he's currently up to $39M.

What was The Point of this Trial? What does finding Trump Guilty on 34 Counts actually accomplish? In essence, Nothing has changed; The MAGA Bus rolls onward. Donald Trump faces Sentencing on July 11th (3 Days before the Republican National Convention), & even then, it's not likely that he will face any Jail Time for a 'Low Level Felony'. Even if he's Sentenced, Trump vows to continue Campaigning. Dems run the risk of Donald Trump being likened to Nelson Mandela. New York State Attorney General Letitia James & Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg were aiming for a Knock Out Punch, but at best, they only gave Trump a Black Eye... I don't see their End Game; unless it's a Win that Attorney General James & D.A. Bragg are planning to ride into the Governor's Mansion & Gracie Mansion respectively.

Despite his position of being a Former President, Donald Trump IS a flawed Candidate. His greatest strength, is his Cult of Personality. I credit him for being a Master Marketer, who has created a formidable Base among Working Class Republicans. This demographic is the traditional Republican Base, so it's not a big surprise to see Republican Leadership following their Key Voting Block into MAGALand. I said before that Politicians underestimated Donald Trump's Media Savvy. He has a knack for staying relevant in a Society conditioned to 30 second Sound Bites & a Short Attention Span.

TD Hip Hop did a great analysis of Trump's Guilty Verdict; looking at the Jury Instructions in particular. The Mainstream Media pointed out Judge Juan Merchan's instructions regarding sole use of Michael Cohen's testimony as grounds for Conviction; Jurors have to consider additional elements in order to Convict. Tony pointed out how the Judge also permitted Jurors to find Trump Guilty on Each Count w/ as few as 4 Jurors out of the 12; This is a precedent. It also raises a huge question mark regarding Trump's Guilty Verdict on ALL 34 [Felony] Charges. How many Counts were actually unanimous votes? Why was conformity among All 12 Jurors bypassed in this particular Trial? What does it mean for future Trials in Manhattan Courts, NYC, & N.Y. State?

The Mainstream Media is running w/ Trump's Conviction; Political Correspondents are quick to point out how 20% of Donald Trump's Supporters say they will 'reconsider' their stance if he's Convicted. But then again, are they only fanning the flames of Trump Supporters? Many in the MAGA Camp believed all along that he is being politically persecuted & pledged to support him regardless. I wonder how this Verdict will affect Libertarians that were on The Fence- will they cry foul & lend their support to Donald Trump? What about Black Voters? Some can see Trump getting the 'Black Treatment' from the Justice System, and may identify w/ that. Then there are those who point to Judge Merchan's daughter, Loren; who through her Firm- Authentic Campaigns, made $10M from information related to this Trial. Attorney Kash Patel pointed out that this is a Violation of N.Y. State Law & the F.E.C.

Meanwhile, Joe Biden is in Scramble Mode. His disregard for Black Specific Issues are coming Home to Roost. His Campaign & the Democratic Shills associated w/ it are trying to push his accomplishments for Black Americans, but NOTHING is Black Specific. Joe Biden is basically citing a laundry list of 'Rising Tide' Measures that benefitted EVERYONE... It harkens back to Kamala Harris stating that she wasn't going to do anything 'Just for Blackfolk', & Joe Biden telling the CBC that 'Latinx is The Future, so they have to get behind them'. TD Hip Hop pointed out how his 'Blacks for Biden' Rally in Philadelphia was a DISMAL FAILURE. The video clips show a Crowd, but wide angle views show a nearly empty gymnasium. Cornell West had a better Turnout in Harlem, & THAT was embarrassing! The fact that Joe Biden is NOT running away in the Polls, says more about Biden than Trump... Stephen Gardner went deeper into Legal Precedent in his interview w/ Kash Patel.

Patel, is a former Federal Public Defender & Prosecutor w/ 60 Criminal Prosecution Trials under his belt. In his interview, he says that he attended proceedings & saw things in the Trump Trial that he never saw before. He gave examples of Legal Precedent in a Court Case, including 'Reversible Error' illegalities during Jury Instructions (citing Richardson vs United States). Both he & Stephen Gardner cite a Double Standard in the Justice System; from a Black Perspective, this is Pure Comedy! They cite a Miscarriage of Justice that Black Americans have suffered through since Emancipation. The question is: How can Black America use this to Our advantage?

Donald Trump has a history of Anti-Black Discrimination Practices in his Business Dealings, while immersing himself into Black American Culture. Black Anti- Trumpers are quick to remind Black Trump Supporters of Donald Trump's Crusade against the 'Central Park 5' & his refusal to apologize for his actions. I think they're justified in doing so. At the same time, The Mantra of Politics is: 'Nothing Personal, just Politics'. The height of Political Maturity is being able to put personal feelings aside for The Greater Good. Black America sits in 'The Catbird Seat'. Dems NEED Black Votes to retain Power; at the same time, We can play on Donald Trump's 'Black Treatment' as: The Enemy of My Enemy...

This is NOT an endorsement of Donald Trump. In fact, I don't support Trump or Biden. I refer to BOTH as:

That said, a little political savvy will go a long way to help Our Cause. Joe Biden has proven himself to be a 21st Century Dixiecrat. I personally think that his Policies over the Decades have done more damage to Black Americans than Donald Trump's Discriminatory Business Practices. NEITHER Candidate gets a Pardon from Me, but if we're 'Playing Politics', We have to remember that LBJ was also an Anti- Black Racist, that We could do business with. The Black Vote is OFFICIALLY FOR SALE, & The Price is a Black Agenda for ALL Black & Afrikan Americans, PLUS a 'Lineage Based' Multigenerational Federal Reparations Program to indemnify American Descendants Of Chattel Slavery. We're past Exploratory Committees & Commissions; Illegal Immigrants are literally getting a Blank Check for Crossing the Border.

Introduction to Collective Seraphic

Now that Seraphic's at a stable place, I think I'm gonna take some time to delve into the basics of how it operates. For this post I'll only be going into the language itself and not the writing system, as that's going to need a post of its own to elaborate on. I'll try to keep this as concise as possible, but I may make separate posts expanding on topics discussed in this one. So, without further ado, onto the infodump!

Background

Collective Seraphic (which I'll be referring to as "Seraphic") is an artlang that I've created for a comic that as of this post I have not began yet, but am still developing. The majority of the comic will take place on the Seraph Homeworld, an alien planet some 3,000 lightyears from Earth populated by the seraph species (pictured below):

Within the story, Seraphic acts as the lingua franca of the Seraph Homeworld and the many colonized planets under Seraph control. It's used in the government, and among speakers of differing languages. As such, this language was the first one that I knew I would need to make as it will play a vital role in both the storytelling and narrative structure.

Syntax

Seraphic is largely a fusional language, employing affixes to modify the semantic role and meaning of morphemes. Seraphic does not, in the traditional sense, have verbs, so the sentence structure is strictly subject-object (will expand upon later). Nouns decline for number and tense, and are grouped into seven noun classes. Adjectives agree with nouns in number, except if derived from nouns themselves, in which case they'll also agree in class. Seraphic is very head-initial; with demonstratives, numerals, possesives, adjectives, genitives, and relative clauses following the noun the modify; and prepositions preceeding the nouns they modify. Auxiliaries preceed procedurals (again, will expand upon later).

Phonology

Here is the phonological chart for Seraphic:

It has a syllable structure of (CC)V(CC). Plosives cannot exist word finally, clusters of consonants of the same manner are illegal, and vowel clusters are also not permitted. Syllabic consonants are grouped with vowels and behave much like them, carrying tone and stress, so they together are grouped and referred to as vocalics. Seraphic is a tonal language, employing the use of four tones: rising (á), falling (à), high (ā), and low (a). Low tones remained unmarked in both the Seraphic script and in romanization. Stress is syllable-independant. It will take either the ultimate, penultimate, or rarely the antepenultimate. Stress always falls on the syllable with a voiceless initial obstruent nearest to the end of the word. If none are available, it will fall on the syllable with an initial sonorant within the same parameters. Stress will never fall on a voiced obstruent. For clarity, I'll provide a key describing the pronunciation of the romanization.

Another letter that might trip people up is ł, which is meant to represent the high tone syllabic 'l'. Otherwise, syllabics are written the same as their pulmonic counterparts, with tone markers written when applicable.

Nouns

Nouns make up the bulk of the Seraphic lexicon. Every noun is grouped into one of seven classes:

Solar class: nouns related to seraphim or seraph-like beings, and seraph body parts. Prefix appears as zā-, zō-, zē-, s-, or ts-.

sēr = "person"

Astral class: nouns related to non-seraph animate lifeforms (their equivalent to "animals"). Prefix appears as ğr-, x, or kx-.

xuc = "cherub"

Vital class: nouns related to inanimate lifeforms (their equivalent to "plants"). Prefix appears as wā-, wō, w-, ū-, wē-, or wī-.

wējlux = "tree"

Terranean class: nouns related to landscapes, locations, and natural phenomena. Prefix appears as va-, vo-, vu-, f-, and pf-.

voxāl = "sun"

Metallic class: nouns related to inanimate objects, both natural and artificial. Prefix appears as ja-, jo-, c-, or tc-.

jağrú = "rock"

Lunar class: nouns related to abstract concepts, and terms related to time. Prefix appears as la-, lo-, le-, li-, y-, or l/ł-.

levren = "job"

Oceanic class: nouns related to general words, tangible concepts, numbers, all adjectives, and non-incorporated loanwords. Prefix appears as a/ā-, o/ō-, or aw-.

awuf = "group"

Adjectives do not agree in class, due to the fact that nouns originally are derived from adjectives, and noun classes acted as a way to differentiate between nouns and adjectives.

fa = "warm, hot"

jafa = "fire" (lit. "a hot thing")

When adjectives are used as predicatives, they decline into the oceanic class in order to take the procedurals (once more, will expand upon later).

Nouns also decline for four numbers: singular (one thing, usually unmarked), dual (two things, both things; suffixes as -ac, -oc, -œc, or -c), plural (things, many thing; suffixes as -n, -an, or -in), and collective (every thing, all things; suffixes as -āf/ōf, -áf/-óf, or -'ōf).

Seraphic doesn't use pronouns. Everything and everyone is referred to by name, including yourself. From our perspective, the Seraphic language constantly speaks in the third person. However, it can be repetitive to use the same name over and over again in a sentence, and sometimes you don't know the name of things, so they'll apply what I've called pro-forms. They consist of the demonstrative adjectives fl "this", sl "that", and xl "yon" declined into the Solar class and taking the place of the first, second, and third person respectively. For ease of reference, I'll provide the forms and their declensions below.

zāfl (I/me), zāflc (both of us), zāvlin (we/us), zāfláf (all of us)

zāsl (you), zāslc (both of you), zāzlin (you guys), zāsláf (all of you)

Seraphic makes no distinction in the gender of the speaker, in this regard. Although these resemble pronouns, they're not meant to be used as often as regular pronouns, and whenever possible it's much preferred that you refer to someone or something by name.

Adjectives and Prepositions

Adjectives are fairly straightforward. Adjectives follow the noun they modify (e.g. sēr tan "big person"), and agree with them in number (e.g. sēr tan "big person" vs sērn t'aŋon "big people"). Adjectives agree in the singular form with singular and collective nouns, and they agree in the plural form with dual and plural nouns.

There are three main types of adjectives: native adjectives (e.g. cna "good"), borrowed adjectives (e.g. anzn "nice"), and noun-derived adjectives (e.g. arfi/ofi "new"). Native and borrowed adjectives don't agree with noun classes, but noun-derived adjectives do. It originated from the animacy-based adjective agreement system in Proto-Seraphic, which has been lost in all other adjective instances. When you want to make a noun into an adjective you'll affix one of two prefixes to it: ar- (if agreeing with Solar, Astral, and Vital nouns) and o- (if agreeing with Terranean, Metallic, Lunar, and Oceanic nouns). There are specific rules on the forms each prefix takes based on the noun they're attached to:

"ār-" when preceeding high or falling vocalic syllables (e.g. sēr ārzājna "popular person")

"ar-" when preceeding low or rising vocalic syllables (e.g. wēn arfe "local fruit")

"ó-" when preceeding high or falling vocalic syllables (e.g. lalel ówē "grassy flavor")

"o-" when preceeding low or falling vocalic syllables (e.g. lesar olvulvren "economic problem")

"ōw-" when preceeding words that start with a vocalic (e.g. lnin ōwāsāvbas "momentary event")

Prepositions occur before the nouns they modify, and don't change form in any circumstance. There are currently 19 prepositions in the modern language, and they are usually connected to nouns via a hyphen (e.g. e-fe "at (the) place"):

cu = of; indicates possession

pr̄ = indicates the indirect object, equivalent to "to" in the phrase "The man sends the letter to me."

in/īn = as or like; indicates similarity or resemblance. Will either be low or high tone depending on the tone of the following syllable.

e/ē = at or on; indicates location.

tsa = near or for; indicates relative distance from a location or an action performed for the sake of the referent.

cni = without; indicates a lack of possession or company.

wa = in or inside of; indicates interior position.

tn = on top of, above, or before; indicates superior position or a prior instance in time.

pux = under, beneath, or after; indicates inferior position or a following instance in time.

pi = with, together with; indicates being in company of or making use of the referent.

fān = from or away from; indicates the motion of leaving the referent.

ku = out of; indicates motion from within the referent towards the exterior.

tun = into or through; indicates motion from outside the referent towards the interior.

xel = to or towards; indicates the motion of approaching the referent.

kxun = across; indicates motion from one location to another

pn̄ = around; indicates location surrounding the referrent.

cāza = between; indicates location in the middle of the referrent.

tē = after, behind; indicates posterior position.

fr = during; indicates a moment in time

Prepositions aren't combined in Collective Seraphic, but may be in certain instances in colloquial speech.

Procedurals

Okay, this is probably the most complicated part of Seraphic, so I'm going to need to get into things individually. First, I'll start with defining a procedural itself. Procedurals are the term I use for the prefixes used to describe the relationship or process of and between the agent noun and the patient noun. These are what act as the equivalent to "verbs" in earth languages. There are three in use:

Existential: used to denote a state of being or equivalence between agent and patient, or to the patient and itself. Equivalent to English "to be" (e.g. A is B, there is B). Usually prefixes as some variant of n-, m-, or ŋ-.

Actional: used to denote an action or process between the agent and patient, or with the patient and itself. Equivalent to English "to do" or "to act upon" (e.g. A acts upon B). Carries a connotation of agency and intent. Usually prefixes as some variant of re-, ra-, or r-.

Resultative: used to denote an occurence or change in state between agent and patient, or patient and itself. Equivalent to English "to become", "to happen", or "to change into" (e.g. A becomes B, B happens to A). Carries a connotation of passiveness or motion. Usually prefixes as some varient of ed- or ez-.

The procedural will change its form slightly depending on the class and declension pattern of the noun it modifies. It always affixes to the patient noun, demonstrating a relationship of an action and what is being acted upon. In this way, the patient can be clearly identified. In transitive or causative clauses, the word order is always S(P)O, with the agent acting as the subject and the patient as the object. In intransitive and passive clauses, the word order is always (P)S, with the patient acting as the subject and the agent demoted to the indirect object or omitted entirely.

Although seemingly limiting, using these three procedural, as well as prepositions, nouns, and adjectives, altogether can be used to make all sorts of verb equivalents that are called "procedural phrases". I'll demonstrate how to build a sentence now. First thing we need to know is the subject and object:

Sāx ... jafa (The child ... the fire)

Next, I'll add the actional procedural in the present tense to this.

Sāx rejafa (The child acts upon the fire)

By itself this is technically grammatically correct, but it doesn't really mean anything. It's too broad. So we add a prepositional phrase to specify exactly what action the child is taking towards the fire.

Sāx pi-sīman rejafa (The childs acts upon the fire with (their) eyes)

Now we know that the child is performing an action involving the use of their eyes. Now of course this could mean many different things in English, but in Seraphic the first thing that comes to mind would be fairly obvious: to see! Thus, "Sāx pi-sīman rejafa" would be the same as saying "The child sees the fire" in English! There are a lot of set phrases that equate to verbs, and remain consistent in their arrangement. Often differing phrases are a useful way to ascertain where someone is from or what their first language is.

Tense and Aspect

Seraphic has six main tenses: two pasts, two presents, and two futures. The two pasts consist of the recent past (happening recently) and the remote past (happening a long time ago), and they prefix and/or combine with the procedural.

Sāx pi-sīman ğrejafa (The child just saw the fire)

Sāx pi-sīman eğrejafa (The child saw the fire a while ago)

Similarly, the future tenses consist of the near future (will happen soon) and the distant future (will happen eventually).

Sāx pi-sīman drejafa (The child will soon see the fire)

Sāx pi-sīman izrejafa (The child will eventually see the fire)

The present tenses consist of a general present tense (happens) and the infinitive (to happen) which is used with auxiliaries and copulae and carries no presence in time.

Sāx pi-sīman rejafa (The child sees the fire)

Pi-sīman ezrejafa (To see a fire)

Whether someone considers an event to be nearer or farther in time from them is completely up to their discretion. There's no set timeframe for when to use the recent vs. remote past, it's all fairly subjective. However, whether you decide to use the recent or remote can really indicate whether you believe something to be in the distant past or future, or just a few moments ago or soon.

Seraphic also makes use of two copulae, the perfective -r and the imperfective -l, helping clitics that expand on the aspect of the procedural, i.e. how the procedural happens over time instead of when in time. The copulae are separate from the procedural, being placed directly before it and conjugating on their own similarly to the lexical procedural. When the copulae are in use, they are conjugated instead of the lexical procedural, while the lexical will be put into the infinitive. The exception to this is if the point in time is considered necessary to be stated for the sake of clarity or emphasis, in which case the lexical verb will also conjugate (though this isn't considered to be the default). The two copulae each conjugate to six tenses, and give 12 individual aspects in total. They are as follows, starting with the perfective:

āgxōnr - Pluperfect: indicates that the action happened at a point before some time in the past either specified or implied (e.g. āgxōnr nidsl "that has happened")

xōnr - Preterite: indicates that the action happened in the past with no reference to if it was completed recently or remotely. A general past (e.g. xōnr nidsl "that happened")

nar - Relative: indicates relative clauses, i.e. clauses that act to modify a noun similarly to an adjective. Equivalent to "that", "who", or "which" (e.g. lsl nar nidsl "the thing that happens")

ednr - Gnomic: indicates general truths, common knowledge, and aphorisms (e.g. ednr nezłsl "things happen")

t'enr - Future Simple: indicates the action will happen in the future with no regard to how near or far it is from the present (e.g. t'enr nidsl "that will happen")

āt'ēnr - Future Perfect: indicates that the action will happen before a time or event in the future (e.g. āt'ēnr nidsl "that will have happened")

And the imperfective:

ŋ̄xōzl - Discontinuous: indicates that an action was happening in the past, but is no longer happening in the present (e.g. ŋ̄xōzl nidsl "that used to happen")

xōzl - Habitual: indicates that an action is done often or out of habit (e.g. xōzl nidsl "that always happens")

īzl - Progressive: indicates that an action is happening at the very moment of conversation (e.g. īzl nidsl "that is happening")

nizl - Prospective: indicates that an action will be starting to, or is in the process of happening (e.g. nizl nidsl "that is about to happen")

t'ezl - Iterative: indicates that an action happens again, repeatedly, or more than one time based on context (e.g. t'ezl nidsl "that happens again" or "that happens again and again")

nt'ezl - Continuative: indicates that an action happens continuously and without end (e.g. nt'ezl nidsl "that still happens")

With both tense and aspects, this largely expands the capability of Seraphic in referring to time.

Moods

Seraphic makes use of seven modal particles to denote seven moods. They are always placed at the beginning of clauses, and no two modal particles can exist in the same clause. They are grouped into four categories: the declaritive (indicative and negative), the inferential (evidential and interrogative), the deontic (volitive and imperative), and the epistemic (subjunctive and conditional). They add extra clarity in the speakers mood or opinion concerning the clause they modify, and are as follows:

Indicative: base form of a clause. Indicates that the speaker is stating a fact or what exists, and is unmarked (e.g. idsl "that happens")

tu - Negative: indicates that the speaker is stating a fact that is untrue or what doesn't exist. Usually only appears in formal, official texts, as the first syllable of the procedural will chage tone to contrast as well and leaves the particle unneccesary in colloquial speech (e.g. tu īdsl "that doesn't happen")

cuc - Evidential: indicates that the speaker is stating a fact that they believe or understand to be true, regardless of having experienced it or not. (e.g. cuc idsl "apparently that happens") Direct evidentiality is denoted using a different method.

an/ān - Interrogative: indicates that the speaker is confirming whether a statement is or isn't true. Forms questions (e.g. an idsl? "does that happen?")

tcān - Volitive: indicates that the speaker desires for the statement to be true (e.g. tcān idsl "that wants to happen" or "that needs to happen" or "that should happen")

má - Imperative: indicates that the speaker is giving a command or suggestion, to themselves and/or to other referents. Functions additionally as a cohortative and a jussive (e.g. má idsl! "let that happen!")

tir - Subjunctive: indicates that the speaker believes the statement to be possible or likely (e.g. tir idsl "that could/would/might happen")

nun - Conditional: indicates that speaker believes the statement to be possible under specific circumstances or conditions (nun idsl "if/when that happens..."

Miscellaneous

That's about the basics of the Seraphic language outline. I'd like to eventually get into things like comparison, evidentiality, declension forms and the like, but those are all topics that definitely need their own individual posts. Real quick, I want to provide one more additional fact about Seraphic.

Seraphic uses base-16, meaning it groups numbers in sets of 16 instead of sets of 10 like we do. 1-16 would be written 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, A, B, C, D, E, F, 10. 10 would be read as 16, and equally 20 would be 32. They're still counting the same amount of things, they're just dividing it up differently!

Anyways that's about it, I hope to share more about Seraphic soon, and when the comic gets released I hope you'll all be able to read it and pick out the many many lines of Seraphic I've poured into it!
