I feel like I have it worse than other headmates when it comes to homesickness.
Because... for a lot of them, it's a feeling of being in a different world, a new dimension, of course they miss home and miss people they used to know, but they find a sort of solidarity in each other, a peace in the melancholy.
But for me... it's not like I was transported to a different dimension. It's like I woke up from a coma 11 years later, in someone else's house, and all my friends arent just gone- they never really existed.
I just feel like I need to go home, i have a life out there, somewhere else.

Okay, so, fair warning. I've been trying to separate from source for almost a year now (maybe over a year even), but that shit is so hard you have no idea. In the end, I've just been sucking up other random sources while still feeling very attached to personal headcanons and certain things about lore. I hate ccWilbur so much I practically froth at the mouth. I hated that one "fanfic" he wrote so much, but somehow, that man made a character devastating and relatable enough that my brain decided to sink it's fangs into them and never let go. Now, I'm mostly stuck on content that I've made/imagined myself regarding the character, and other people's art of course.
CcWilbur really did fuck things up with cWilbur near the end of the lore in my opinion. Though I could argue that there was always fuck ups, but all's fair in love and minecraft roleplay war. CWilbur has essentially become my oc/persona at this point, but I know that's not new within the realm of the dsmp fandom.

I am so sick of this

Honest to God either you accept factives or you don't. If you don't accept problematic factives, then you're accepting:
Abusing problematic factives into dropping their identies
Discarding of introjects you dislike
Forcing identities on/stripping identities from members
Chosing and deciding which [TRUAMA FORMED] introjects you want
Segregation of the factive community
Anyways, if you have servers that aren't like this, reach out! I'm sure the people who follow the blog would be ecstatic, thanks!
[Edit: I QUEUED THIS AT 7 AM WITH NO IDEA WHAT WOULD UNFOLD TODAY]

Here’s some positivity for systems and headmates who deal with lots of anger or aggression!
Many systems and headmates may find that, for any reason, they hold a lot of anger or aggression. Living and learning to effectively regulate these emotions can be tough for anyone, especially those who have been traumatized or who have more anger to deal with than the average person. This post goes out to all the angry or aggressive systems and headmates out there!
💥 Shoutout to headmates who are anger holders or who split to handle their system’s aggression!
💜 Shoutout to traumatized systems whose trauma left them bitter, angry, violent, or quick to lash out!
💢 Shoutout to introjects who brought to their system anger or aggression left over from their source!
👾 Shoutout to systems who are taking anger management courses or who are in treatment to help manage their anger in some way!
💥 Shoutout to persecutors who are learning to avoid taking out their anger and aggression on their headmates!
💜 Shoutout to systems who utilize negative or harmful coping strategies to deal with their anger or aggression!
💢 Shoutout to systems or headmates who have been called “dangerous,” “violent,” “scary,” or “hateful” in the past due to their angry or aggressive tendencies!
👾 Shoutout to systems whose anger and aggression makes it difficult for them to maintain friendships and other relationships!
💥 Shoutout to systems who are prone to making rash or impulsive decisions when they’re in an angry or heated moment!
💜 Shoutout to systems whose anger and aggression gives them energy, who are kept alive by their spite!
Living with lots of anger or aggression inside can be disheartening or exhausting for anyone, even those whose role is to handle these emotions. To every angry or aggressive headmate or system out there, we truly hope that things get easier for you soon and that you are able to find a bit of peace, comfort, and happiness in your lives. We care about you, we’re rooting for you, and we are wishing the very best for you in all that you do!
We hope that you can do your best to treat yourself and your system with kindness and grace today. Know that there are no wrong emotions, even if you need help managing them or have difficulties controlling your reactions. Remember that you will always belong in the plural community just the way you are, and we are so glad to have you here. Thanks so much for reading, and take care!

☆ Normalising "Obscure" Alters
We've noticed that there's been a lot of hate and overall cruelty that more 'unusual', 'obscure' alters face. Mainly, i feel like the reason for this is because they aren't normalised much in the community, and the larger system community's more used to human introjects from extremely well-known sources / human brainmades whilst simultaneously showing hate towards any introject or alter in general that is even slightly abnormal.
We've had a mass splitting aswell as a large amount of alters returning from dormancy in the past few weeks due to issues i won't get into, so i thought i'd list some of our more 'obscure' new splits to hopefully help some systems who are in denial or are overall feeling negative due to having alters who "don't fit the norm". Feel free to reblog this and add your own 'unusual' alters to encourage your fellow systems!
'The Tell-Tale Heart' by Edgar Allen Poe. Yes, the poem.
An Elder Mimic from Vita Carnis. I think non-human/monster alters are shown quite a lot of hate.
Whitney Chewston, better known as 'The Homophobic Dog'. We haven't seen many animal alters before in the community, but they deserve more acknowledgement.
Gangle's Employee Re-evaluation Video, from TADC. Not the character, the character's flashing video you see in the TADC Spudsy's episode. Conceptives and songtives are things we rarely see due to how many people harass them.
A seraphim. We actually have multiple seraphim, but most of ours are humanoid.
The Personification of Narcissism. Yet another conceptive.
Cthulhu's Eye. Yes, the floating eye from Terraria.
I'm still trying to figure out what other alters have appeared, so likely I'll update this post as i discover more. But i hope this post has helped atleast one other system feel a bit more confident and less anxious.

this may sound a bit weird but hear me out
if you are an introject and you identify with the negative things you did in source thats ok. i sometimes see posts where people talk about how they didnt do the negative things in source and people shouldnt see them that way, and of course thats completely fine. i just think we should also talk about how some introjects do identify with the bad things they did in source. just as you dont choose your source you dont choose the memories you gain and what parts you identify with.

Role category suggestions for simply plural
Host(s) - If you change hosts and/or you have multiple you could also sort them by year or any other time frame
Gatekeepers - This could be broken into what they gatekeep (ie switches, alters, memories, ect)
Introjects - You could also sort them as fictional, factual, ect and then by source
Fragments - These will only really apply to complex / polyfragmeted systems
Syskids / Alter ages - No notes, but I would personally keep the syskids private
Nonhuman alters - You could sort these by source or species
Persecutor - No notes other than you might want to change the name depending on how you personally feel about the label
Protectors - You could sort these by what they specifically protect you from (ie emotions, memories, situations, ect)
Caregivers - Could be divided into internal, external or a combination of the two
[Thing] holder - These can be broken down into symptom holders, memory holders, emotion holders, trauma holders, ect and then what they hold specifically (ie negative memories, BPD symptoms, happiness, ect)
No role or Other - It's important to note that not all alters have defined roles or want to identify with a role, which is fine.
Remember that roles can overlap, you may even find it easier to make your own roles because some just won't fit your systemss needs- These are only the 'common' ones we see discussed. You also do not have to create folders for all the types listed here, ignore and change them all based on your system needs. Requested by @luciasfeliztwt

Hi! This is a blog looking at introjection, projection and introjects as a whole. Welcome!
To start us off, I want to explain first what introjection actually is! I think a lot of people forget what it means and what it refers to. So, in terms of psychology, introjection (or internalization) is an unconscious process. It's the process of internalising the thoughts or personality traits of others. It can be a normal part of a child's development, like when a child takes on parental values, attitudes, ideology, and such.
Introjection also works as a defence mechanism! They take the ideas, feelings, and/or attitudes of others and make that part of themself. Though it can be healthy, it can also be unhealthy; many may internalise negative or harmful beliefs. Introjection affects people's thoughts, too.
Introjection does not only apply to Dissociative Disorders! It's a process anyone can go through.
I see a lot of people talk about introjection online through the lens of introject alters, some I've seen have made it out as if only alter systems experience introjection; that's not quite right! While yes, introjects of people in our lives can exist, that's not all there is to introjection. It's not exclusive to CDDs.
Introjection is not the same as projection. While introjection is internalising those values, projection is where someone takes those internal beliefs and values and projects them onto external subjects. Projection can be a defense mechanism; used to expel and externalise those uncomfortable inner thoughts and feelings. Introjection is the opposite of projection.
Introjects are alters that hold onto those beliefs and values.
If they didn't introject those aspects, they wouldn't be considered introjects! Whether that be fictional or factual introjects, they need something to introject in order to be considered such. They need to have those compartmentalised aspects.

Introjects. Let's Talk.
There are SO many assumptions based on introjects. It seems many believe that in order to have an introject of a character you must know absolutely everything about the character, you must be going through horrific trauma, introjects must be one to one of the character and that is extremely rare to have introjects in the first place.
All of these assumptions are (obviously) BALONEY!
Splits are caused by ANY stress/trauma. They are negatively induced but they also can be for very mild reasons, it all comes down to YOUR brain and whether you have a low or high split tolerance. It simply happens whenever there is a problem your brain needs to fix and none of your parts/alters would fit to role required, your brain will then create a new one! And sometimes it happens to take inspiration from someone that already exists either in fiction or the real world - it's really not that revolutionary, quite simple actually. And I have a hypothesis that autistic people have a higher rate of introjects due to inability to conceptualize but unfortunately no research has been done as of yet so.
For this particular post I want to introduce you to three of our parts. Adrian (he/she), Ash (they/he/she) and Kaya (she/her). All three of these parts are introjects that are based purely on perception rather than what is canon!
Adrian is an introject of the character Rookie from Club Penguin. As we never ventured into the lore of the penguins in the game, our brain made assumptions based on appearance. Adrian's main role in the system is to be silly and lighthearted - to just be unapologetically himself.
Ash is an introject of the character Ashley Graves from The Coffin of Andrew and Leyley. This is a game we have never played and know very little about! However it is a game our wife enjoys and we had seen the image of Ashley a lot. During the time Ash split we were feeling a lot of pressure to be good, to be sober, to work full-time and Ash split to rise against that and remove some of the overwhelming emotions we were experiencing. Our brain again made assumptions based on the characters appearance and that was what worked for us!
Kaya is an introject of the character Kayo Majiba from Machimaho: I Messed up and Made the Wrong Girl into a Magical Girl! We've never read the manga she is from and have only seen some panels, but apparently that was enough for our brain! Still relatively new compared to the other two but we believe she exists to be a pure ball of rage that just wants the world to burn.
INTROJECTS ARE SO NUANCED! They can be exactly like the character they are sourced from, they can be nothing like the character they are sourced from! You can have watched every single piece of media of their source, or watched none at all! There shouldn't be such in the box assumptions made about a category that is so wide!!!
And to everyone out there that has introjects that don't act like the pre-existing character/person they have introjected from, have introjects of a character from a media you have never partaken in, or anything else that goes against the norm of what is assumed about introjects - please never forget your validity. Someone else's misconceptions about how the disorder works will never be a valid reason for fakeclaiming.
Introjects in general! Your existence shouldn't be questioned based on dumb presumptuous opinions online!

"Anti-Recovery"
The words "anti-recovery" are thrown around a lot in system spaces -- typically to tell people what to do and what to not do in their own recoveries. Ignoring just how blatantly inappropriate that is (I don't feel anyone on tumblr is posting as someones personal medical team), I want to discuss what those words actually mean to me.
Anti-recovery, to me, is something that gets in the way of an individual's recovery. Pretty straightforward. And, by that same token, this means that there is no way to label something as completely, no matter what, anti-recovery. Sure, you can speak up about things that are usually anti-recovery! But you cannot say, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that something is anti-recovery, because everyone will recover in different ways. Recovery looks different for everyone!
Let's tackle a few common ones. This got rambly and enormous, so bear with me.
Purposefully splitting, or splitting a lot is anti-recovery.
Splitting in CDD systems is largely a coping mechanism. It is done to help cope with situations. Whether the person has control over the split or not is of no consequence; what matters is their distress level. If splitting helps bring an individual's distress down, then inherently, that is going to be better for them -- and if it keeps them alive, then it's vital.
When we (purposefully, in a way) split Debra, our distress got so, so much worse in many ways. It absolutely impacted our recovery negatively, because we were not in a position to handle those emotions... but on the the other hand, splitting Debra kept me from killing myself. I would rather be distressed than dead.
It is possible for a coping mechanism to be unhealthy, of course -- just look at syscourse for many individuals! But unhealthy is not the same as anti-recovery. Unhealthy means it is hurtful for the individual; but harm reduction is an aspect of recovery in many cases.
Celebrating splitting is anti-recovery.
Connected to the above idea, celebrating splits can definitely be unhealthy for some people! It could be anti-recovery for some people -- and for others, it may be incredibly healthy and help aid in recovery.
In our system, celebrating our splits has led to them feeling welcomed, loved, and valued -- which, in turn, helped them to integrate further with us. Trying to push away that split, or complaining about splitting, or even resenting the part for coming into existence... that's resentment toward my own self. That's distress, caused my self-loathing. That definitely would not help me recover!
Being miserable about your disorder is anti-recovery.
This disorder is difficult to live with. You are allowed to be upset about the hurdles you must jump over, particularly when others do not have to jump over those hurdles. You are allowed to be frustrated with how hard life can be!
Looking at someone else’s misery and insisting they are hurting themselves by being miserable is not your place. They likely would also like to not be miserable! Give them that space to recover.
Even hating your parts can be part of your recovery process. I’m not saying it’s healthy; for us, it was absolutely anti-recovery. It hurt us, and stopped us from continuing in recovery. But it was also part of my process of survival; if I accepted all of my parts outright, it would’ve meant confronting my trauma head on — which would’ve been more anti-recovery in the moment.
Identifying with sources is anti-recovery.
Identifying with source is already such a vague statement as it is. Do you mean something similar to kinning? Do you mean using the name of the character you interjected from? Do you mean considering source memories as real?
Whatever you mean — it can be helpful for that individual. And it can even vary by part! For us, for instance, some of our introjects relate far more heavily with source. Some of our introjects abandoned source ASAP. Some are in the middle.
Our introjects who separated fully from source benefit from it because it gives them the opportunity to view themselves as their own person; they started to form their own identity and ideals, and can continue that work easily. Our introjects who relate heavily to source benefit from it because they process the pseudomemories they have and the source trauma, and apply those lessons to our life; accepting their trauma as real and impacting us has led to us processing our trauma through their lens.
Allowing your system members to individualize is anti-recovery.
This goes along with the, “you must admit you’re just one person” mentality; the idea that accepting personhood and having your own identity is somehow harmful.
Identifying strictly as different people with no connection to one another was harmful for me. But it’s not harmful for everyone. By the same token, thinking of ourselves only as parts, just fragmented pieces of a single personality, also was harmful for me. It’s not harmful for everyone.
Allowing my system members to individualize physically — packers for the men, jewelry for those who like it, personal clothing or aesthetic pieces that help folks feel more like themselves — makes them comfortable enough to exist, front, and most of all, talk to the rest of us (and my therapist). Allowing them to individualize personally — different hobbies, rooms innerworld, and beliefs — helps them to feel closer together and more integrated.
I just exist. I’m not even “allowing” things — I’m just here. And so are hundreds of others who also don’t view this as an anti-recovery sentiment.
Intentional dissociation or barriers to integration are anti-recovery.
Intentionally raising barriers between ourselves meant I could no longer access memories I was torturing myself with, which other parts split to handle.
Intentionally raising barriers between ourselves meant our ace parts no longer were co-conscious anytime we fuck, feeling much more at ease.
Intentionally raising barriers between ourselves meant we now also intentionally began reaching out, talking to one another and purposefully seeking integration — rather than feeling pulled along outside of our control.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ feels recovery centered to me! And it is for many others!
And so much more!
Genuinely, there’s so many more. I could get into littlescourse, dignity of risk, everything.
At the end of the day: all of the things above could be anti-recovery. You can be so miserable that you prevent yourself from healing. You can be so dissociated that you prevent yourself from healing. You can be splitting so frequently that you cannot heal.
But there’s cases where those things can also help someone’s recovery.
Please: don’t deal in absolutes. What works for your system might not work for others.

Debunking r/systemscringe's DID Lies!
For those who aren't aware, r/systemscringe is an ableist hate subreddit, and is one of the greatest sources of misinformation about dissociative disorders and plurality on the internet.
Today, I'd like to go over some of their most prominent excuses for fakeclaiming DID and OSDD systems, and why those reasons are contradicted by actual research by actual psychiatrists.
"Alters Can't Talk To Each Other"
This is one of the most easily-debunked lies I've seen to excuse fakeclaiming. It can take a few different forms. But generally, when a system talks about speaking to their alters, r/systemscringe users will say that it's impossible and that DID doesn't work like that.
This isn't just a little false. It completely contradicts all known research into DID.
Hearing voices of alters is directly mentioned in the DSM-5 as a symptom.
This isn't even uncommon. Voce hearing is more common in DID than in schizophrenia, experienced in about 80% of cases of dissociative disorders.
Now, it does need to be noted that just because 80% do, that doesn't mean it's true of everyone. 20% is still a big number, and systems who can't communicate internally are still valid.
But the fact of the matter is that most systems can communicate this way.
"You Need (Years of) Therapy to be Able to Communicate With Alters"
Failing the first one, another popular claim is that alters can't possibly communicate without therapy. Usually, people will claim this requires "years" of therapy to build communication.
So is this true?
Turns out, not in the slightest. In fact, in a study comparing DID voice hearers to schizophrenic voice hearers, it was found that 90% of the DID voice hearers started hearing voices before the age of 18.
This is in comparison to a Schizophrenic group that consisted of 28% without maltreatment and 38% with maltreatment that started before the age of 18.
Given that DID notoriously takes years to get correctly diagnosed with and most patients aren't diagnosed until adulthood, it should be obvious that most of these 90% didn't have to undergo years of therapy before being able to hear the voices of their alters.
"Alters Can't Be Friends"
Let's be 100% clear here. Dissociative Identity Disorder is absolutely a disorder. It couldn't be diagnosed if it didn't come with some level of distress or impairment. That's a fundamental part of the criteria.
But when that same study I posted above asked the DID and Schizophrenic groups if they would miss the voices if they were gone, a huge 69% of the DID group said they would.
The truth is that DID is more complicated and nuanced than "having alters bad."
Sometimes the distress or impairment has less to do with the other alters and more to do with the other dissociative symptoms, such as the DP/DR and the amnesia.
And sometimes, you can have positive relationships with some alters and negative relationships with others. And yes, there is that 31% who say they wouldn't miss hearing their alters if they no longer heard them. That's valid too.
But this does show that a majority of DID systems do feel a close attachment to the other alters in their systems.
"Systems Can't Control When They Switch"
Like above, this is nuanced. The truth is some systems can't control switching. Others can only control it some of the time. And some have full control.
There has actually been a study on a DID patient voluntarily switching in and MRI machine:
This study literally couldn't have been done were it not possible to voluntarily switch.
"Fictives Aren't Real"
Okay, now let's tackle one of the biggest lies to justify fakeclaiming. Fictional introjects or "Fictives" are alters or headmates based on fictional characters. r/systemscringe and other fakeclaimers love to fakeclaim systems for being fictive heavy or even having any fictives at all.
And like most of r/systemscringe's claims, this is nonsense. Here is one account of fictives from 1988.
Furthermore, in the book The Haunted Self, which is responsible for the Theory of Structural Dissociation of the Personality, one case study is referenced of someone who had many fictives based off of Start Trek characters.
This also serves to debunk other reasons for fakeclaiming I've seen from r/systemscringe. That a system has too many fictive, is all fictives, or that their fictives all come from the same source. Because as we see above, this is a very real documented presentation of dissociative identity disorder.
Closing:
I'm likely not done with this post. I plan to add to this list of misinformation that I've seen repeatedly peddled by the hate subreddit and used to justify attacking systems. There is A LOT there!
But here's the bottom line. r/systemcringe is a hate sub peddling division and bigotry against systems... often for normal system things that have been well-documented in academic literature.
If you're here from r/systemscringe, I'm sure you've seen all or most of the above lies I debunked above posted there. And if you're a system, I would ask you why you would stand by a subreddit that so blatantly spreads misinformation about other systems with the intent of hurting them? With the intent of hurting people like you?
Because if you think that they're your friends, I have watched them turn on systems that joined in with their fakeclaiming so many times, and fakeclaiming fellow members of that subreddit. And I can promise that they will turn on you too.
Click here for my debunk of their claims that endogenic systems are a "conspiracy theory."

Interesting thing about our system: we almost never split.
At least, not in the traditional sense.
Splitting, as we've seen it described, seems to be about an identity fragmenting, usually due to stress. They can be split from the system's collective identity, or that of a specific headmate. Many systems describe it like that, even plenty of non-traumagenic ones.
This is not the case for us. When we form new headmates, it feels like our identity is growing rather than breaking apart. When we introject characters, it's because we've connected to their source, and it's usually unrelated to anything negative.
We don't split new headmates, we say that we form them.
Now, the reason we can say for sure that this is different is because we've actually had (though very few) true splits before. Those are derived from an original identity of another headmate, but they're not a side- or sub-system, and are also too separate to be median.
We're pretty sure we can't be the only one like this, right? But we've never actually met another system who describes gaining headmates in the same way.
Please tell us in the notes how gaining headmates goes for you! Even if it's not the same as us, it would still be validating to hear about other people's unique experiences. ^^
