So, it's often stated that Hal (Henry V, as Prince of Wales) initially supported his brother Thomas's marriage to the recently widowed Margaret Holland before later withdrawing his support. I didn't know what the actual evidence of his support was until I looked up the Calendar of Papal Letters for the entries relating to Thomas and Margaret's wedding. Then things got very interesting.
The first entry, dated 17 September 1410, reads:
To the archbishop of Canterbury and the bishop of Winchester. Mandate, at the recent petition of Thomas, son of [Henry] king of England, and Margaret de Holand, relict of John de Beufort, earl of Somerset, and at the petition also of [Henry] prince of Wales, Thomas's brother, to dispense them to marry, if after diligent inquiry he find that, as they state, they are related in the second degree of affinity and in the second and third degrees of kindred, and if it be the king's will. Oblate nobis. (De mandato.) [my emphasis]
The entries in the Calendar of Papal Letters are just summaries of the actual letters to help people locate the letter they need to reference, so this isn't the full letter (the full letter has never been published, afaik, and I have no way of accessing the original). But this still tells us two interesting things.
One - we know that the petition came from Thomas, Margaret and Hal. Far from merely going along with Thomas or Henry's plan, Hal was involved enough that he added his name to the petition.
Two - the phrase "if it be the king's will" suggests that Henry IV was not yet on board, possibly because he wasn't aware of his sons' plan (perhaps they wanted the papal dispensation as a fait accompli when presenting the marriage to Henry?) or was undecided whether he would support it (or at least wanting to appear that way).
Margaret was the widow of Henry IV's half-brother, John Beaufort, Earl of Somerset, so it's possible that Henry was waiting to see whether a marriage between Margaret and his son would be dispensed. It's also possible he was waiting to see the reaction of Somerset's siblings, particularly Henry Beaufort, Bishop of Winchester who was also the executor of Somerset's will.
Alternatively, Henry may have wanted to appear above the marriage so that if Henry Beaufort objected to it, Henry could appear a neutral party that was "above" their conflict.
The second entry, dated 4 November 1411, reads:
To Anthony de Pireto, S.T.M., minister-general of the Friars Minors, papal nuncio in England. Mandate, at the petition also of Henry, prince of Wales, and if the consent of king Henry be forthcoming, to dispense Thomas, son of the king, and Margaret de Holand, relict of John de Beufort, earl of Somerset, to marry notwithstanding that they are related in the second degree of affinity and the second and third of kindred. Oblate nobis. (De mandto.) [my emphasis]
The general consensus is that the second petition was required because Beaufort (and/or the Archbishop of Canterbury) had informed the papacy of just how Margaret and Thomas were related, i.e. she was his aunt by marriage.
The full version (which is unpublished) may be more revelatory but on the basis of what is given, it seems that the petition this came in response to was made solely by Hal, rather than Hal with Thomas and Margaret. Again, Henry IV's consent to the union is required and it is unclear whether he will give it.
Judging from both these petitions, Hal was involved enough to add his name to the petitions while Henry may or may not have been aware of the plan for Thomas to marry Margaret. The fact that Margaret was granted custody of almost all the Somerset lands during the minority of her son may suggest, as G. L. Harriss argued, that these grants were made with her marriage to Thomas in mind. In combination with this, it seems likely Hal was at least aware of the plan to provide for Thomas through his marriage to Margaret - and may have even been one of the architects of the plan. His objection, Harriss noted, was "belated" and may have been motivated by the need to satisfy Beaufort, his close ally, and the way Thomas's star had risen as Hal's had fallen during the political crisis of 1411/1412.
What makes this interesting is that Hal and Thomas are usually imagined to be at loggerheads for the entirety of their lives. Yet here we have a concrete example of them working together for Thomas's benefit not long before their relationship reached a crisis point. Perhaps their relationship was not as bad as is generally imagined and the crisis point of 1412 was just a blip in their relationship.

Any opinion on the Pokemon Gigaleak or nah?
I think seeing some of the WIP assets from when gen 3 was in development is kinda neat, because Game Freak is normally so secretive about that kind of thing. But beyond that I mostly just find this whole situation tiring.
Fans have a tendency to almost treat scrapped material as "more canon" than whatever actually made it into the finished product, in a way. It's treated as this pure, unfiltered insight into the creators' true vision. In reality, most of the time this stuff gets cut for a reason. Sometimes they very quickly realize it was a bad idea that was never gonna work, and they don't go very far with it. Sometimes it's a pitch from just one guy on the team that was never gonna get accepted. Sometimes they're just spitballing. Experimentation and iteration and knowing when to cut things are integral parts of the artistic process.
And hell, a lot of the time creators will just mess around with an idea purely as a creative exercise, or to get an idea out of their system, or to explore a crazy what-if scenario, or even just as a joke, with no intention of ever actually using those ideas. We recently saw this same thing happened with those leaked Rebecca Sugar sketches, where people were like "OMG Rebecca ships this, this is what they REALLY wanted to do with the show, this is canon, this was happening off-screen!!" And it's like, y'all have no idea how much crazy shit your favorite artists draw with their characters just to amuse themselves. The crew on Clarence had a not-so-secret Tumblr where they redrew scenes from Evangelion with Clarence characters. That doesn't mean they wanted to turn Clarence into Eva. They were just screwing around. This happens all the time, and with way more extreme examples than these. Lord knows how many Disney animators have drawn Mickey Mouse with his dick out over the years. That doesn't mean they ever actually wanted to make an official Mickey Mouse porno.
And, of course, there's the response to those myths that were never supposed to see the light of day. Anyone who's even passingly familiar with mythology from just about any part of the world shouldn't be surprised to hear fables about humans and animals having babies or whatever. But now people are responding to those unused stories and going "OMG Game Freak is a bunch of gooners who want humans and Pokemon to have sex!! This is canon!!!" It's so fucking tiring. So much of the modern internet, particularly Twitter, is driven by people who just want an excuse to whip out their favorite shocked/disgusted reaction image and ham up their reaction to something that isn't actually all that shocking. Everyone just wants to get their funny dunks in and feign moral superiority. It's childish. And it's because of reactions like this that this stuff was never supposed to see the light of day in the first place. But fans feel like they're owed every single shred of info from the development of their favorite franchises, so these leaks happen and people run wild with them.
(It also doesn't help that this is all just sourced back to a 4chan thread, so people were posting fake shit between the real leaks and muddying the waters. And also most of it is in Japanese, so people are just sticking documents through Google Translate and going "whooooaaaa this is canon")

https://www.tumblr.com/wonderjanga/768236926637588480/theres-only-a-few-people-he-hates-ebenezer-is?source=share
in regards to your post about billy hating ebenezer and the magic spell putting the name of the person you hate most over your head. combine that with the post where ebenezer believes the captain is CC.
he can see it on the news where marvel says, "the name of the person you hate most" and this guy who is positive thats the father of the child he abused and abandoned sees HIS NAME above the head. other people would too, so he becomes ostricized maybe?
i just want him constantly on edge waiting for Charles to come knocking and people coming up with their own headcanons for it
He was coming for him. Ebenezer knew he was. The old man peered out of the window blinds before quickly shutting them. He knew Clarence would be furious if he ever found out about the way he treated his son, but he couldn’t help it. Billy was the perfect culmination of his little brother. They had the same smiles, same oblivious personalities. The only difference was that Billy was a child. A child that wouldn’t know how to defend itself against an adult he was suppose to trust bullying him.
If Ebenezer was being honest, he was almost glad his little brother was dead. He was big on family and no doubt as soon as he found out about the way he treated his son, C.C. likely would’ve been in jail by the next day. So yes, was Ebenezer going to spend to rest of his days as a hermit? Yes. It’s not like he doesn’t already like one anyways.
Meanwhile, with the average Fawcitizen…
Lady 1: “I just can’t believe Cap hates old man Ebenezer.”
Lady 2: “I can’t believe he hates anyone period!”
Lady 1: “I know right, I mean, I understand I guess. The old man would go around scaring people off with how he would do everything but swear at them, but still. It’s a little surprising.”
People eventually started digging into why Marvel hated Ebenezer Batson. They came to the conclusion that they were brothers. C.C. or Clarence Charles Batson was the little brother, and Ebenezer was the older. Now, looking at the younger photos of the two, they indeed look similar. People might’ve thought he was C.C. until it was discovered that the man, his wife, and his daughter were deceased, leaving his son William Batson to go and stay with Ebenezer.
Guy 1: “He had a nephew?”
Guy 2: “I honestly had no idea.” *shrugs* “I don’t remember ever seeing the boy around the neighborhood.”
Ebenezer didn’t leave his house for nearly two months straight. Finally, when he thought all the press about him calmed down. He decided to finally go out. He was walking down the sidewalk, no one having thankfully recognized him. The only thing they had seen were photos of him and Clarence when they were younger. They weren’t exactly looking for an older man. Unfortunately for Ebenezer, fortunately for everyone else though, the man got held up at gun point. Thankfully, Billy saved him.
Also, by the way, Billy one hundred percent thinks Ebenezer knows he’s Billy.
Marvel: *smiling as if nothings wrong but is talking in the most lifeless voice anyone’s ever heard from him* “You know… You know for a second, I considered just letting you die just now.” *hands Ebenezer his wallet back, of course not before stealing every single dollar when the old man wasn’t looking*
Ebenezer: *is about to comment on that statement before he feels the weight of his wallet* “Hey… this feels lighter-”
Marvel: *starts to float off and gives him a little wave*
Ebenezer: “Clarence, you brat! Come back here!” *waves his cane at him*
Marvel: *already long gone now*
See, during his time of being a recluse, the people actually thought Cap was Ebenezer but with some major self hatred, but this single moment, that single line of “I considered just letting you die” confirmed that they were absolutely not the same person and that Cap genuinely hated the man. Plus, you know, they were spotted at the same time standing in front of each other. There’s also the fact that Ebenezer called the Big Red Cheese “Clarence” which was the younger Batson brother’s name. So, now the people think he was revived and hates his brother now. For good reason too, because people eventually did more digging and found out about Ebenezer getting Billy to sign away his inheritance to him, stealing it all. You couldn’t ask any of the currently living Batsons, they just somehow found out.
Also, Billy used that money to treat himself, Mary, and Freddy to a nice meal because he felt like they all deserved it.
Billy, Mary, and Freddy: *all in a booth, drinking milkshakes*
Newscaster: *on a radio* “Just now, we’ve received video of Ebenezer Batson and Captain Marvel interacting!”
Marvel: *on the radio, says the line from earlier*
Freddy: *not really that surprised* “Damn.”
Elsewhere…
Literally any of the JL: “Damn.” *extremely concerned*

1993: Chicago Bulls fan Don Calhoun makes a 75 foot shot that wins him $1 million dollars. (source)
The insurance company that was required to make the payoff, American Hole 'N One Inc, voided the payment when they discovered that three years earlier, Calhoun played basketball for a junior college (a fact he disclosed and the Bulls did not have an issue with), and said it was a violation of the rules. Fortunately, the sponsors of the event and the Chicago Bulls pledged to cover the prize if the insurance company would not. As a result, Calhoun got $50,000 a year over the next 20 years.

One lasting impact was that Mr. Calhoun was able to use the winnings to help his son, Dr. Clarence Calhoun II, go to medical school.

hey so. i’ve seen many people reblogging some variation of “israel spent millions on a superbowl ad to distract everyone from the airstrikes on rafah” and decided to do some fact-checking. the ad was produced by the kraft foundation to stop jewish hate, founded by robert kraft, who owns the patriots. kraft also partnered with dr. clarence b. jones—who advised dr. martin king luther jr and helped him write the i have a dream speech—to create this ad. according to tara levine, the fcas president, this ad was made in response to rising antisemitism on social media platforms, which her team tracks.
here’s a link to the foundation’s about page on their website. their mission statement solely focuses on combatting antisemitism and does not mention i/p or the ongoing war. the ad itself does not mention i/p or the ongoing war. it’s pretty ironic, and yet not surprising, that an ad created to stop antisemitism is currently the eye of the antisemitic storm on social media. if you sincerely believe netanyahu secretly funded this ad campaign to “distract everyone” from the idf’s airstrike attack in rafa, then you have bought into two different antisemitic conspiracy theories: that jews control the media and that diasporic jews have dual loyalty to israel. while political zionists have used accusations of antisemitism to invalidate pro-palestinian efforts, that’s not what’s happening here. all this information is obtainable via google. please learn to fact check yourselves before posting. thanks!
(bonus: here’s a 20-minute video where kraft and dr. jones discuss the civil rights movement, anti-black racism, antisemitism, and the history of solidarity between black and jewish activists during the civil rights movement.)
EDIT 2/23/24:
after publishing this post, i researched robert kraft and fcas' funding source and pro-israel efforts more deeply, then analyzed my findings in a reblog, which you can read here. tl;dr version - in 2019, kraft was given the genesis prize, a $1 million dollar award. the awarding foundation has direct ties to the israeli government. kraft used part of these funds to finance fcas. this additional information does not negate my original post, however; i can't find any conclusive evidence that the israeli government directly funded kraft's superbowl ad. there is also no evidence that kraft is targeting anti-israel sentiment in the ad rather than antisemitism overall. assuming this connection is still evidence of antisemitic conspiratorial thought, as i detail above.
i'm including this information because i believe it's important to acknolwedge wider context. i don't share kraft's politics re: israel and believe his stance compromises his foundation's overall messaging. i also condemn any efforts to silence pro-palestinian efforts with accusations of antisemitism, but that is still not what's happening here. i also want to clarify that i'm only discussing responses i've seen to kraft's ad, not the ads produced by the israeli government. thanks again!
