I want to cosplay Dilton SO badly, but in order to do that I’d need to have:

A: A friend with me who’s cosplaying Jughead, so that (by virtue of the iconic hat) onlookers might possibly recognize what fandom I’m supposed to be from by association.

(Because really, without context, Dilt is just some random kid with glasses.)

B: Ideally multiple other friends cosplaying other Archie characters, because it wouldn’t really make sense to have a tritagonist like Dilly hanging out with Jug, but not The Actual Archie. (And really the whole theme works best with a big group, I’m sure.)

C: An actual place to cosplay at, like, I don’t know, a comic con or something. I have never been to one, and have no plans to go to one, so that’s a bit of a moot point right now. And a comic con is sort of the only place with enough of a payoff for this particular cosplay theme.

Because if I’m not recognized as Dilton, then I’m basically just wearing normal, slightly dated clothes at a time when I could have been wearing something awesome, like a medieval gown or superhero armor or a pirate outfit.

Half the fun of becoming a character is getting to be that character for other people as well. As much as I want to cosplay just for myself, if I’m not recognized at all, it sort of doesn’t feel worth it…

Unfortunately my interests skew towards the obscure.

Dustin spends literal weeks in Hellfire talking shit on his brother for being the most embarrassing person on the planet. He paints a real vivid picture of the type of dork that would spill soup on the stairs and then slip on it.

And then the rest of Hellfire meets his brother and it’s, “Steve Harrington???”

Worst part of it is that Dustin is in no way exaggerating any of the stories he told. Steve is just like that.

I really disagree with the idea that "hua cheng hates everyone but Xie Lian" because it's more that we just hardly ever get to see him interact with someone he doesn't have personal beef with.

like the people in ghost city seem to genuinely like him. he's known to provide protection to ghosts being hunted by cultivators. he literally *ripped out his eye* to protect a group of random humans. he's not an evil demon king with a soft spot for this one guy. he is genuinely kind to people who aren't Xie Lian sometimes, especially people who exist outside heaven's sphere of "respectability" ie ghosts.

is he rude and abrasive? yes, but there is a difference between being nice and being kind. are his morals dubious? yes, but so is heaven; hua cheng just doesn't try to hide it. Hua Cheng is completely sincere and is transparent about all his actions both good and bad which contrasts him from the cover-ups and false politeness of heaven
