Sun Dominant Themes — 𝐍𝐚𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐎𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 (part 1) 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝟔
Understanding why planets exalt in certain nakshatras, and houses, will give you an even better foundation for all nakshatra lords. For example, Venus loves being in Revati because this is where it can be unrestricted and as flourishing in its themes as it desires to be, since Revati is peak freedom and transcendence; Ketu loves being in Jyestha because this Scorpio nakshatra continuously releases so much heat which allows Ketu to function at its highest level; and Sun is its best version when it is in Ashwini, because this Aries nakshatra allows the Sun to be as hyper-independent and selfish as it desires to be, and Ashwini being co-ruled by Ketu helps one attract resources to further advance oneself — a theme I am seeing in all the Sun nakshatras.
The symbol of Krittika nakshatra is a sharp knife, and its deity is the fire god, Agni. This emphasizes the heat in Krittika which is connected to its transformative nature. This is seen in the refinement of blades, where the beginning stages involve forging – the process of heating and shaping of the metal – and then heat treating. Resources are used with precision in Krittika, anything unnecessary being cut away as resources are channelled with focus so that one rises to the top. The ruling deity of Uttara Phalguni nakshatra is Aryaman, the guardian of social contracts and hospitality. Aryaman is a solar deity, giving more emphasis to the life-giving heat and brightness of this Sun nakshatra. With Uttara Phalguni, resources are built and sustained through agreements, partnerships and community. Creating mutual connections and valuing generosity will lead to later pleasures, as this nakshatra is symbolized by the back legs of a cot and the word Uttara in Sanskrit can mean "latter," "subsequent," or "final." Uttara Ashada is ruled by the Vishwadevas, the universal gods, this indicating the superior, hyper-independence and highly resourceful nature of this nakshatra. This enables mastery in resource mobilization and strategic planning.

Uttara Ashada Sun Orlando Bloom portrays the character Will Turner in Pirates of the Carribean, who starts out as an accomplished blacksmith by trade – his fantastic swordsmanship a product of his work with tangible resources like metal and tools, demonstrating his ability to make effective use of his environment.
The agency of the self and one's independence is due to the aftermath of the Ugra nakshatras having purged away impurities, propelling Sun nakshatras to focus on one's inner solar light to align with their material plane. This is interestingly explored in films through the so-called "American Dream".

The "American Dream" refers to the belief that anyone, regardless of their socio-economic status and background, can achieve their dreams and make a better life for themselves in a society where upward mobility is accessible to all. The core ideals of this belief are explored in the film The Pursuit of Happyness, starring Uttara Phalguni Sun Will Smith who plays a struggling salesman rising from poverty to attaining professional success as a stockbroker — his character being driven by persistent effort, ambition, and belief in upward mobility.

The theme of the human spirit's resilience in the pursuit of personal dreams is also seen in the film Forrest Gump, starring Uttara Phalguni ASC Tom Hanks who plays a low IQ man who goes through many challenges and still never gave up on his dreams.
Sun nakshatras are more commonly associated with strong themes of ambition, leadership and success.

Aja Naomi King has Uttara Ashada Sun and Uttara Phalguni Moon, making her a dominant fire rashi native. She portrays the character Michaela Pratt in How To Get Away With Murder. She is a young woman who is an ambitious overachiever, possessing an intense fire in her and is relentless in chasing after her goals with focused determination.
The character Paris Geller from Gilmore Girls, portrayed by Uttara Ashada Moon native Liza Weil, is known for her relentless ambition, being an aggressive perfectionist, and possessing a fear of failure which mirrors Michaela Pratt’s personality, often the cause of her clashing with others.

Sun natives are able to sacrifice and delay gratification for their goals. The elephant tusk of Uttara Ashada represents enduring strength, the nakshatra also being in the first section of the Capricorn rashi (Saturn supporting themes of endurance and delays). Uttara Phalguni's symbol is a bed or hammock, which represents the rest after hard work and generosity, completing the journey from Purva Phalguni in this final stage. And Krittika being the blade, or razor, signifies it as a cutting force able to slice through obstacles, fuelled by a desire to execute excellence.

Daniel Plainview in There Will Be Blood exemplifies the darker, more ruthless and capitalistic side of this "American Dream" — operating more Ketuvian as he is portrayed by Ashwini Moon native Daniel Day Lewis, drawing parallels with Ashwini Moon Christian Bale in American Psycho (further emphasizing why the Sun exalts in Ashwini, as Ashwini possesses this pure, ungovernable and all-consuming masculine energy which can become self-building).

The book Oil! follows the son of an independent oilman who initially idolizes his father's rise to power which has a rags-to-riches quality to it. The book highlights the nefarious strategies that oilmen employ through the main character's sympathy towards the underdog people (oilfield workers), a solar theme which will support further points I'll be touching on. But this corruption of the self from accumulating so much intoxicating power is definitely the darker side of Sun nakshatras.
The character Plainview uses oil as a lucrative resource and leverages it to build his empire, also coming from humble beginnings. He embodies this 'self-made', hyper-independent archetype in which hard work highlights one's determination and ability to turn opportunities into wealth. But the writer of the film, and the author of the novel Oil!, shine light on the emptiness and loneliness of this accumulation.

In the story, The Great Gatsby, the character Jay Gatsby initially comes from a poor background, and he meets a high-status woman who he falls in love with. She becomes one of the reasons for his drive, shaping his desire to escape poverty and become successful.

Uttara Phalguni's ability to outwardly evolve to positions of power and have access to things which are symbolic of pleasure and luxury emphasizes the inward radiance and resilience they possess to overcome challenges.
There is a Solar archetype which possesses a type of independence and a resourcefulness that doesn't translate into dominance, but rather into strictly following one's own path of righteousness — remaining strong willed no matter the people one is surrounded by. And there is a level of generosity and duty to this archetype, as Surya, the Hindu Sun god, embodies Dharma (which is related to duty, righteousness and upholding truth).

Will Turner fully embodies this archetype. Even when he's surrounded by pirates, and learns of his familial background of piracy, he stubbornly sticks to what he believes is right. His character has consistently been a strong moral compass in the franchise, upholding righteousness and truth — pointing to the higher leadership and moral integrity important in Uttara Ashada, as this nakshatra is ruled by the Vishwadevas, who are believed to reward those who follow moral principles and righteous paths.
Being burdened with so much duty, Surya (the Sun god) has to endure distant relationships with his close familial bonds. Will Turner mirrors this exactly, his duty as the Captain of the Flying Dutchman (a powerful evolution of his character as he initially started as a humble blacksmith) binds him to a duty higher than his mortal life. Because of this, he could only see his son and wife every once a decade, much like how Surya cannot be close to his sons and spouses.
A lot of sacrifices that they endure include cutting away human attachments, although this archetype is moreso explored from the hyper-independent lens in Claire Nakti's Sun Dominant Men video, as they voluntarily become absent fathers/deadbeats from their inherent selfishness — very much opposing the ideals of many Sun gods, but a correct negative manifestation nonetheless.
All Sun gods support this solar archetype of justice, leadership and source of nourishment. Helio, in Greek mythology, personifies the Sun, bringing light to the world, also regarded as the god of sight. Surya is a source of vitality and justice. Ran, the Egyptian Sun god, serves as a great protector, encompassing intense sun rays which ward off evil.
Characters which embody this protective, superior force are often played by Ketu and Sun nakshatra natives (and as Ketu nakshatras are seen as dominant forces in nature, we see how Sun nakshatras adapt in isolation, and become dominant as well, using tools and resources to remain resilient). Claire Nakti already explored this with Mula's connection to Hercules, while I connect the nakshatra Uttara Ashada to characters such as Robin Hood & Tarzan. Just as the Sun gods symbolize a life-giving energy which keeps stability in the universe, George of the Jungle and Tarzan are characters who both protect the jungle and its inhabitants from poachers and other humans with bad intentions — their presence alone warding off evil. Both characters serve as guardians to ensure harmony in the jungle.

The elephant tusk (of Uttara Ashada) often signifies, in many cultures, the protection of wildlife, especially from those who want to exploit and dominate nature. It also symbolizes a tool for survival, and it is associated with higher stature and power. This theme of one being the source of life and resources is seen in Robin Hood, a character which has Uttara Ashada influence. Robin Hood is known for safeguarding the well-being of his community, ensuring that their nourishment and dignity is preserved as he distributes wealth from the rich to the poor.

The bridge between Purva Ashada and Uttara Ashada could be represented by the purpose of Sagittarius — the archer aiming straight for victory. Uttara Ashada can be the release of the arrow, the culmination of focus to execute the final victory, as its stars lie close and pointing to the Galactic Center (signifying the bullseye). Uttara Ashada carries the final stage of the archer's triumph, embodying this legacy after the swift release of the arrow.

Much like Tarzan and George, Robin Hood lives in nature. Sun makes one completely self-sufficient, free from societal and religious roots which holds one back from finding their true essence. And the forest or woods represent a place one can explore their true selves and burn away what's false. The dominance of the Sun is seen in these characters' ability to comfortably live in such a place full of hidden threats like wild animals, bandits, or poachers. While for Ketu this theme signifies their huntress and taming power over the wild, for Sun it signifies their radical freedom and adaptability. Living in the forest, Robin Hood represents the figure of the outsider.

In the 2011 film Red Riding Hood, the character Peter is a woodcutter who embodies the archetype of the lone wolf. He is portrayed by Krittika Moon & Uttara Ashada ASC native Shiloh Fernandez. He knows the forest very well, and is often associated with the pure, wild aspects of it. He is very much like George of the Jungle, in that his love interest is also played by a Magha native, which I found this Sun-Ketu association very interesting.
His free nature and rough exterior (representative of his authenticity, making him a misfit in society) is what misleads the viewers into thinking that he is the werewolf that's been killing the townsfolk, but the truly animalistic and consuming force of the story is the character played by Ashwini Moon Billy Burke.
This lone wolf archetype supports their ability in being resourceful within their surroundings, often seen in survival stories in which the Solar native is stranded and is literally isolated from civilization.

Blue Lagoon (1980) is a survival film about two children living on an island after a shipwreck. Krittika Moon Christopher Atkins plays Richard, who becomes deeply attuned to the rhythms of the island, learning how to make use of the natural resources for their survival.
In the film Mad Max: Fury Road, Uttara Phalguni Sun Tom Hardy embodies this lone wolf archetype through the character Max. The story has a hyper-patriarchal system which is built around the hoarding of resources and exploitation of others. Max is completely removed from this society, prioritizing his own survival and maintaining his autonomy above all else.

His detachment makes him representative of someone who can solely rely on their resourcefulness and sharp instincts. This film is great as it stars two Phalguni natives; the character Furiosa being portrayed by likely Purva Phalguni ASC native Charlize Theron. Her warriorship is based around seeking a better future for the feminine, which is marked by love and autonomy.

Furiosa, being Venus and an Ugra nakshatra, represents the fight for liberation and happiness, particularly on the freedom of Immortan Joe’s enslaved women, and her own freedom from such a restrictive society unfit for the feminine. The women's rejection of the patriarchy mirrors Max’s independence outside the system. Initially, he aligns with her merely out of necessity as she and the wives possess resources beneficial for his survival. But he treats them as equals, recognizing their autonomy and agency. Max's collaboration with them emphasizes Uttara Phalguni’s purpose of creating alliances and partnerships for higher purposes, supporting the journey that started from Purva Phalguni nakshatra.
After aiding Furiosa, Max returns to his hyper-independent lifestyle; burning the attachments he formed with the women, and returning to his path that is away from the society.
This ability to survive by oneself, to reshape one's environment, mobilizing resources even in barren circumstances, is a theme for Sun nakshatras — further exaggerating this lone wolf, mysterious archetype (as seen with Max in Mad Max: Fury Road and Peter in Red Riding Hood).

The Sun is the natural giver of light and energy, but it does not receive light in return. Solar natives, often being so self-sufficient, give to others but rarely lean on them for much support. The character Elliot Alderson from Mr. Robot is a hacker, his final achievement towards the end of the series making him a modern day Robin Hood. His mission to expose corruption and empower the oppressed is akin to the Sun being a source of illumination, Krittika especially being known to cut away illusion. He is played by Krittika Sun Rami Malek.
Elliot remains emotionally isolated, as he has noticed that anyone who gets too close to him burns in the end — very similar to how the Sun god, Surya, burns and shines too brightly that his wife, Samjna, runs away from him. Elliot's solitary nature makes him feel extreme loneliness, but he maintains a distance from others, his hyper-independence stemming from his traumatic past and his mistrust of others.
There's a genre of film which explores the cause of such imbalanced independence, much like how Max's reason for burning attachments being due to trauma and previous lose. Christmas Carol movies often have Sun natives casted in them, portraying characters that possess a level of misanthropy and selfishness which drive them into further isolation.
The famous character, Ebenezer Scrooge, is a miserly, bitter, and cold-hearted old man who despises Christmas as it is associated with things of generosity and happiness. His name has literally become synonymous with selfishness, cynicism, greed and a lack of compassion. Ebenezer leads a solitary life, being estranged from family and detached from community due to his cold demeanour and focus on material gain. A Christmas Carol is a tale of Scrooge's redemption through three spirits, who highlight moments of lost joy, compassion, and the choices that led to his current misery and his future lonely funeral.

After his epiphanies, thanks to the spirits who took him on a journey of rediscovery, his redemption is seen when he wakes up on Christmas morning being transformed into a generous, joyful person — helping the community and reconnecting with his family. His renewed sense of compassion from being such a mean, wicked old man could be interpreted as the Sun burning away negativity to rekindle the warmth and generosity that the Scrooge has repossessed within himself. This tale is retold in the 2008 Barbie in a Christmas Carol, in which the character Eden Starling is a glamourous singer who is extremely self-centered and arrogant. She does not believe in Christmas and even refuses her employees from celebrating it.
She is voiced by Uttara Phalguni Sun and Uttara Ashada Moon native Morwenna Banks. Much like the timeless festive tale, three ghosts visit her on Christmas Eve, taking her on a journey through her Past, Present and Future. This leading her to have epiphanies regarding how much of her light had been dimmed and how lonely her future will be. These scrooge characters were once so brilliant and bright, but their inner light became eclipsed by bitterness, lose, or regret, leading to a life devoid of merriness — and being cold and frosty towards others.
Life’s challenges, such as betrayal, lose or disillusionment, leads these solar natives to retreat into isolation and despair. In the film Jingle Jangle, the character Jeronicus is a vibrant inventor, radiating so much brilliance and inspiring those around him.

Though not as cruel as Scrooge was, his arc still mirrors the Christmas Carol tale, in that his light becomes renewed. His young and redeemed older self both embody the festive spirit and joy of Christmas, acting as conduits for the magic, wonder, and generosity for the season.
The transformative journeys of these solar characters also extend to the Grinch, from the 2000 film How the Grinch Stole Christmas, the character portrayed by Uttara Ashada Sun native Jim Carrey. The tale was originally created by Uttara Phalguni Moon native Dr Seuss, first published in 1955.
The Grinch absolutely despises Christmas, much like Scrooge, being deeply consumed by resentment and envy while he isolates himself from the joyous Whoville community. His redemption is seen in him integrating himself into the community with newfound warmth, after experiencing an epiphany through a little girl’s unwavering joy and forgiveness. He returns the gifts he has stolen, realizing that Christmas is about love, not material possessions.
There are solar symbolisms in Christmas traditions, besides the gift-giving and festive feasting. These traditions can be traced back to ancient winter solstice celebrations, which made the symbolic rebirth of the sun, as the daylight hours began to increase after the winter solstice.

In 2018's The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, the character Clara, portrayed by Krittika ASC Mackenzie Foy, experiences a journey which can be symbolic of the winter solstice. The story begins with Clara in a dark emotional space following the death of her mother, this darkness being much like the world descending into the longest night at the winter solstice. But Clara seeks the key to her mother’s gift, which signifies as a source of life, fertility, and illumination that unlocks potential — the gift quite literally being a golden egg. Clara and her companion must retrieve the key and restore harmony to the unstable magical land. This theme of restoration, new hope, and redemption in a lot of these scrooge films, is symbolic to the Sun’s rebirth during the solstice — the return of life.
The practice of illuminating the Christmas tree with lights and ornaments mirrors the Sun's return, symbolizing a brighter future with the coming year. The infectious joy and generous acts during this festive season reflect the gratitude for the life-sustaining force that the Sun is, and the light for new hope it represents, as it promises abundance for the year ahead. The twin deities of Ashwini nakshatra are associated with rejuvenation, new beginnings, and vitality; this resonates with solar qualities, further explaining why Sun feels naturally at home in Ashwini. The Ashwini Kumaras are divine healers who bring restoration and renewal, just as the Sun sustains all living beings with its energy.
The character Robin Hood, much like the Sun, is a symbol of hope for the downtrodden, fighting off the darkness of evil and corruption. He sustains the spirit of his people by redistributing wealth and restoring their faith in justice, consistently being a force of resistance. The Sun serves as a profound symbol of redemption, perfectly embodying the cycle of renewal and the promise of transformation on earth. Its daily rise eliminates darkness, rejuvenating life and reinstituting balance in nature after its lengthy absence. Sun illuminates the paths which signify growth, healing, and change. The very pure symbolism of the Sun makes it an enduring metaphor for hope, forgiveness, and the power to provide. Robin Hood's actions literally restore the imbalance, which was created by corruption and darkness, giving the poor a chance to continue building their lives. Robin Hood stands as a symbol of light against injustice, signifying a timeless reminder that even in the face of darkness, renewal and justice are always within reach. The character Elliot Alderson is also the perfect representation of this, for anyone who has watched Mr. Robot (the only series I'd happily recommend to anyone — it's very dark though).
Merry belated Christmas! 🎄

Being fulfilled holds more value than chasing happiness. Fulfillment is the deep sense of contentment that comes from aligning with your inner consciousness.
Peace is lasting, something that no one can take away. Happiness, on the other hand, is temporary, driven by external circumstances that can change quickly.
Constantly chasing happiness can trap you in a cycle of highs and lows, leaving you feeling unfulfilled. True fulfillment, however is rooted in a lasting peace that transcends temporary joys or setbacks.

Sylus’s Dragon Nature Reflected in Night of Secrecy. (Short Analysis)
In their first intimate moment, the dynamic between Sylus and MC beautifully reflects Sylus’s dragon nature in subtle yet profound ways. The moment is not only passionate but also laden with emotional depth that aligns with the traits often associated with dragons. Sylus’s actions during their intimacy reveal his instincts, desires, and values, creating a powerful scene that leaves a lasting impact.
1. Mutual Bonding and Trust
Dragons are known to be fiercely loyal and protective, but trust is something they value highly. When MC initiates the first kiss, it signifies her trust and willingness to bridge the gap between them. For a dragon like Sylus, that trust is sacred and cherished.
Reflection of Dragon Nature: When Sylus allows her to initiate the kiss, it shows that he respects her autonomy and values her choice. Just like dragons who form deep, mutual bonds, Sylus desires a genuine connection built on trust and consent. This is especially important to him given their complex past and his longing to reconnect with her.
2. Protective Instincts and Emotional Intensity
Dragons often have deep, passionate emotions. When Sylus reciprocates the kiss and then asks for her consent, it’s not just an act of respect, it’s a demonstration of his need to ensure that their bond is truly mutual.
Reflection of Dragon Nature: Dragons are territorial and protective, especially over those they care about. By asking for her consent, Sylus ensures she feels safe and comfortable, even when his emotions are running high. It shows his careful control over his own instincts, prioritizing her comfort above his own desires. His restraint despite his deep longing speaks volumes about his character and his dedication to her.
3. Possessiveness Balanced with Respect
Dragons can be possessive, but true dragon nature is not about forceful control, it’s about deep connection and loyalty. Sylus’s desire for intimacy, paired with his need to seek her permission, highlights his inner conflict between possessiveness and genuine affection.
Reflection of Dragon Nature: Instead of aggressively claiming her, Sylus shows restraint, respecting her boundaries. This balanced possessiveness is part of his dragon nature, wanting her, but only if she desires him in return. His desire is strong, but his respect for her feelings is stronger, showing a level of devotion that runs deeper than mere physical attraction.
4. Instinctual Bonding
Dragons often have strong instincts toward forming lasting bonds. By ensuring that MC is comfortable and consenting, Sylus is subconsciously reinforcing their emotional and physical connection in a way that feels genuine and lasting.
Reflection of Dragon Nature: It’s like a dragon imprinting on their chosen partner. Sylus’s actions show that he values her deeply and desires to form a bond that goes beyond mere physical attraction, he wants something enduring and meaningful. His actions are driven by a desire for emotional resonance, not just physical satisfaction.
Sylus’s approach to their first intimate moment demonstrates the complexity of his dragon nature. While he desires her deeply, he prioritizes her comfort and consent, reflecting a balance between his possessive instincts and his genuine care for her. The irony of Fyodor's words:
These words have always stuck with me when I started to reread the manga, especially with the recent chapters and Fyodor's behavior. He says something deeply philosophical, but also deeply ironic.
In the anime, he says:
“People are eager to believe that they are acting with free will. That they know best. They become so excited by their own discoveries that they give them too much value. We all loathe to believe we can be controlled.” (Season 3, Episode 4, 17:35)
And in the manga:
"People, honestly, simply, wrongly assume that 'I thought so myself.'" (Vol. 10, Ch. 42, Page 35)
At first glance, these two quotes seem to say something very similar—that people tend to overvalue their own thoughts and discoveries, believing them to be entirely their own, when in reality, they might be influenced by something (or someone) else. But here's where the irony kicks in: Fyodor himself embodies this very mindset.
Despite his belief that people are wrong to assume their thoughts are independent, Fyodor operates under the assumption that his philosophy is entirely his own. In truth, it’s shaped by a lifetime of suffering, trauma, and a near-obsessive need to control the world around him.
Fyodor’s theory—that all ability users should be eradicated—is rooted in his own experiences of feeling powerless and out of control. The abuse he’s endured, combined with his ability, has led him to view the world—and its "free will"—as fundamentally flawed. He believes that to restore order to this chaotic world, the gifted must be suppressed. Yet, isn't this philosophy itself an example of the very thing he criticizes in others? His conviction that he has discovered the "truth" mirrors the self-deception he critiques: the tendency to believe that his thoughts are purely his own, unaffected by external forces, including his trauma.
In a way, Fyodor is trapped in the very mindset he warns against: the idea that his conclusions are logical and independent, when they are actually the product of his suffering, his obsession with control, and his refusal to accept the chaos of human nature. His belief that he’s arrived at the ultimate truth—that ability users must be eradicated to prevent chaos—reflects the same misguided, self-affirming belief that he accuses others of having.
Fyodor, in his isolation and intellectual torment, has convinced himself that eradicating others' abilities is the only way to restore order. But this "discovery" is not a product of pure intellect. It is, instead, the result of his trauma and distorted worldview. The irony is that he has become the very thing he despises: someone who clings to his own belief as the ultimate truth, dismissing the possibility that his thoughts are shaped by his personal history, his suffering, and his need for control.
At the heart of this contradiction is Fyodor’s desperate desire for control. His philosophy isn't just intellectual; it’s emotionally driven, born of his experiences with powerlessness. In seeking to rid the world of chaos and disorder, he longs for a sense of security. But he fails to see that his quest for control is itself a response to his internalized trauma. His attempts to impose order are shaped not just by logic, but by his scars.
This leads us to the central irony: Fyodor cannot see that his belief system is flawed not because it's illogical, but because it’s emotionally driven. He claims to have transcended the emotional influence of others, yet in doing so, he becomes a prisoner of his own narrative. He cannot escape the fact that his thoughts, like those of the people he criticizes, are shaped by his fears, desires, and personal history.
Fyodor's rejection of external influence is, in the end, a perfect reflection of the flaw he exhibits: the inability to recognize that his thoughts are not independent, but deeply shaped by a lifetime of suffering and a need for control. He believes that he has arrived at the ultimate truth through intellectual reasoning, but in reality, his philosophy is just as much a product of his internal struggles as anyone else’s beliefs.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk :>

Hi! So, modding has ruined me and as such I’d like to request the Origin Companions with a Lich Tav / S/O? Like, they did the whole process a while ago and only now with the Tadpole Sitch have they returned from death and have no idea what they’re doing and are far weaker than they expected. Maybe they show the companion a sign of “I love and trust you” by allowing them to (gently) hold their phylactery? Idk, fill how you see fit if you want :]
hi anon!! sorry it took so long but i wanted to make a bit of research for it to be accurate. i hope you'll like it!!
─ . 𝜗𝜚‧ characters : shadowheart, astarion, gale, lae'zel, wyll, karlach
─ . 𝜗𝜚‧ content warning : a bit of angst, but some comfort
─ . 𝜗𝜚‧ words : 1.4k (250~ per characters)
( not proofread, english is not my first language ☆)
─ ‧ shadowheart :
at a first glance, you amazed her as much as terrified her. but it was mostly a terrified respect. because being a lich, aka an undead sorcerer who seeks to transcend death itself is in clear opposition to the cycle of life and death, which is a central theme of most faiths including Shar’s.
she swore you must have followed Shar herself though as, per her words, “the darkness that precedes you would make a fierce soldier in her eyes.”
chances are that Shadowheart will have to put some parts of her faith in question for you, but on the other hand she could simply see your powers as a sort of extension of Shar’s influence.
as time goes by however, she realises a lot of prejudices held against lichs such as being cold and goal driven can be wrong, especially when it comes about you.
she’d be very much interested in hearing you talk about the process of becoming a lich. she admires your patience and devotion so much, a person as old and wise as you has seen more than she ever will and she craves to know more about your life, before becoming a lich and during it.
if you ever allowed her to hold your phylactery, she would never doubt your sincerity ever again. she knows how much this act means for her, for you, for your relationship, and she would not forget it nor lower it for anything in Faerun.
─ ‧ astarion :
when astarion learns about you being a lich at the very beginning of your adventure, it is certain that you and him would bicker about your age.
“how old are you? i didn’t know mummies could have such deplorable fashion styles, but how could it be otherwise considering you’re older than most of Gale’s books“ he said, to which you’d answer “it pains me that i have lived long enough to see idiots like you being born.”
it’s really just a game of bickering at the beginning, especially when you underlined that most liches are more powerful than vampires.
this however brought a spark to him, because if you were indeed more powerful than most vampires, then you would be of great utility in helping him go against his master.
over time of you gaining back your powers and abilities, he found something absolutely breathtaking in your darkness, your devotion, your ambition to outlive anything in your path.
he would see an opportunity to live in eternity by your sides. all other mortals perish eventually, and the knowledge of having you by his sides for all eternity makes him impossibly happy.
you offering him to hold your phylactery would mean the world to him, because he knew that if he had such a thing, he would have gave it to you. it’s an incomparable proof of your trust for him, no one had ever allowed him such an honour and you can be sure he will value it greatly.
─ ‧ gale :
this man is a scholar, and it would be lying to say that apart from being frightened and pretty much offended that you are here, he is extremely curious.
he obviously has a deep fascination of magic, particularly the forbidden type, and you are a literal gift from the skies to be in his path.
ethical boundaries aside, i don’t think he will be able to shut up.
you will be bombarded by all types of questions about the whole entire process of becoming a lich, from your years to learning about the Arcane arts to the gathering the rare and powerful components needed for the creation of your phylactery.
He will not let you rest, he needs answers he’s been pondering on for so long and you’re here with all the answers.
This however raises for him the question of morality and mortality, unless he takes the path of moving from Evocation to Necromancy, in which case one could say he found the perfect pair.
Having gale as your s/o while being a lich is something you didn’t expect, in the sense that being with gale made you feel understood and seen.
If you allow gale to touch your phylactery, he would jump to the ceiling. He would hold it gently and ask about each and every part of it, asking how you got the components, how you assembled it all and how it felt once you had completed the entire process. But most of all, he is extremely aware of what it means and how much of a token of trust and respect it is for you to allow him to handle such a precious object.
─ ‧ lae'zel :
Lae’zel’s first approach would most definitely be one of suspicion. Githyankis and their traditions consider others as weak or unnatural, especially those who use necromancy. Chances are her first thoughts about you gravitate around repulsion, since you alone represent a source of power that is so dishonorable.
She would take quite the time to let herself trust you. There is one thing she cannot deny about you that changes during your adventure : you’re powerful, very powerful. When you start gaining back some of your powers and offer proper almost overwhelming force of will, you’ve owned lae’zel’s respect (no matter of grudgingly she acknowledges you as a worthy potential partner).
Plus, your immortality is an asset in battle that cannot be circumvented.
In the end, your strong senses of battle and unrelenting determination won her.
When you allowed her to handle your phylactery, she was confused as to what such an artefact was. But when you explained to her that your very remains of life and mortality were in that very object, her heart leaped in her chest. For you to offer your life and allow her to have it in her own hands proved to her that you were more trustworthy than any other allies and lovers.
─ ‧ wyll :
His original reaction to your situation would be disbelief. He’d only ever heard of Lichs in storybooks or tails one would mysteriously count in a tavern. But a real one, in the flesh ? that was a first for him.
The concept of necromancy alone is not one Wyll appreciates much. It defies moralities and mortality to bring back from the dead. He’s worked hard to defeat enemies in the past that used such methods to build armies and soulless soldiers, and he is frightened of having feelings for you when these questions pull to the front of his mind.
But his sense of forgiveness would take over. Along the road to Baldur’s Gate, during your many adventures, he saw how your dedication to getting the team out of a deadly situation was pure and true.
It’s hard for him to deconstruct so many beliefs he’s had on necromancy and lichs in general, but he’s willing to do it for you. He does fear that it will be an imbalance relationship, but he wants to try.
But this thought vanishes from his mind when you allow him to touch your phylactery. He’s heard of such artefacts, of what they hold within, and it undoubtedly makes his heart stammer. He’ll never ever doubt of your love for him, that is for certain.
─ ‧ karlach :
Karlach’s first impression of her s/o being a Lich would not be positive, since being a lich represents the concept of immortality at the cost of the soul, and it could be something she finds repulsive.
Because you had the choice to abandon your mortality, your life, and you took it while she never had a choice on her own mortality.
But when you started travelling together, fighting together, living together, she didn’t find you so bad after all. It felt like you were just one of them, just a person with ambitions and goals.
She realised the lengths at which you were ready to go for your companions, and it owned her trust and admiration.
And when you kept finding infernal iron and stopped anything you were all doing just to go see Dammon as soon as you could to get her heart fixed, she knew she could trust you and appreciate you.
She has her own fears of being with you though, the fatality of her own heart failing her in opposition to your eternity frightened her beyond belief. What will happen if she dies and you go on without her ? She is very much tormented about this question.
But she loves you, and she knows you love her.
When you allow her to touch your phylactery, she would crumble in tears as if you’re offering her a wedding ring. If she could take out her mechanical heart from her chest and give it to you without dying the same way you give her the last piece of life you own in this world, she would.

May I request jealous!Claude Frollo x a gorgeous!fem!reader?
You are my fire
warning : fluff, obsession, implied dark themes, jealousy
Summary : A glimse into the jealousy of a man driven by love and obsession. His heart and love a beauty that just wants to be amused but who doesn't?
Info : Of course you can request such a thing dear anon I hope you like this little thing have fun reading ;) And everyone have fun reading.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She is the most beautiful thing this city had, no it's not true she was the most beautiful creature on the whole world. She was the light of this desolate world, this wondrously beautiful creature, she was simply everything.
She was like an angel with her beauty, her statues scattered all over the city on the churches, the town hall, the wooden signs of the dirty poops scattered everywhere.
But not one of them even came close to doing her justice. Because in the end only he saw it, he was allowed to see her beauty, her body under the most expensive clothes. Ever since they met, it had lit a fire in both of them.
A fire that would burn forever. The fire of his eagerness that everyone wanted to hurt her and the fire of her beauty. He was the judge who would burn down the city he would give her.
His gaze lifted from the book and the room his study, which was only true for him, was quickly transformed into a room of luxury and beauty. The mirrors on the walls, the paintings she made, she watched every brushstroke and her beloved.
The lender of her things, the man who owned them. ,,If you don't wish to be banished or lose your head, you will disappear," he had said as her eyes settled on the diamond necklace, a special creation made of pure diamonds to commemorate the new city archibve and the summer feast for the guardians where she had appeared on the other side of the man.
The magistrate next to her had his face twisted into a grimace, but everyone could see that his golden rings lay on top of hers. That she walked beside him chopped up like a piece of jewelry for show she was his in every possible way.
That when they walked together his touch was gentle and yet possessive as when he ran his fingers over her soft skin after getting up in the morning.
Tracing the marks that had easily formed on his handsome statue. ,,My goddess" as he called her in praise when she gave him further inspiration for the works he made her.
Gifts and works of a value that transcended everything. She always had to hold back a grin, she knew that he was a man full of jealousy, that he threatened anyone who came too close to her, who looked at her too closely, who even touched her.
It was something she knew and perhaps used. But despite everything, she had to admit that even if the gifts were pretty…his inner being…his carefree attitude…this monster was quite amusing. ,,You know I love being entertained," she had once told him when they went on a carriage ride out of Paris.
Her fingers closed the curtain again and she felt his piercing gaze. ,,And you know that there is only you for me," he had replied, his fingers on hers as he kissed his way up the back of her hand, slowly, as if it would break. ,,Even nature pales no god's work pales before you" he cajoled her and became confident when he saw her own smirk which she hid slightly behind a fan due to the heat of the summer.
Perhaps it was true. That she felt subjugated by him, that he loved her as one had done, the obsession in the mix with recognition.
For the first time she was recognized and not just seen as something to be had in the most perverse way. He recognized her as a beautiful butterfly as something to watch, to entertain, to love, to cherish. It was a connection between the two.
They both cherished each other as they sat on the jewelry table with the tea service on the small table and chairs. ,,And you'll always compliment me…I know you will," she told him, winking at him and taking a sip of tea as she saw him turn his upturned gaze to her, a smirk meeting the wink.
What she had in charm, beauty and unendingness that people loved about her, he had in return. He was the evil of the city, he had no charm, no beauty and no infinity. He was the devil who had the beautiful woman at his side, the first woman who ever was and ever would be.
It was on his jealousy that their amusement was taff and maybe just maybe they would make each other worse. Maybe the devil and the demoness Lilith would begin to rule over Prais after a while.
Because anyone who did not respect his words and did not recognize her beauty would burn in eternal fire. A fire that would burn forever like her love.
Another alfa for your enjoyment, here's the 155 V6 Ti.
This is Hot Wheels Boulevard No. 55, released in 2022, the debut release for this casting. The car is a racing variant of the car, obviously, and raced in the DTM series. This livery is a recreation of the 1993 car driven by Nicola Larini for factory team Alfa Corse, who won the series that year and took the car to first place in 11 of the 22 races. This is a record which has never been surpassed.
I've got to admit I have never really clicked with Alfa Romeo. There are numerous really cool Alfas, but Alfa Romeo are a pretty general manufacturer with a broad range, and there's little overall coherence to the marque that really creates a particular identity that a lot of other manufacturers manage to give their cars. However, I think this model brought me a little closer to what attracts people to Alfas.
To my eye the 155 is typical of many Alfa Romeos in that it's not a very special car in everyday road car form; perfectly OK and a lot better than many cars, but not especially a car that you'd notice. My particular enthusiasm is for rally cars, a field Alfa Romeo have not particularly dominated. What interests me with rally is the idea of taking an everyday car and developing it, elevating it, improving it to reach speeds and cross terrain it was never meant to, to become something recognisable and yet utterly unlike what it began as, to entirely transcend what it was intended to be. Touring car racing generally begins with more high-end cars so it doesn't really strike me in the same way usually, but that transcendent spirit is visible in this 155.
It feels underdoggy and raw as a racer, and has the same energy for me as the Metro 6R4, an everyday car turned into a rampaging beast with a boxy ugly bodykit, lunatic V6 and 4WD. And as I read further about it, I learned that it inherited much of the internal workings of what is probably my favourite "if-you-could-only-have-one" car, the Lancia Delta Integrale, itself a serial winner and holder of a never-bettered record in rallying. Accordingly, I pay a lot more attention to Alfas now.
This is a really good model, and a great example of what premium Hot Wheels ought to be. Not only is the cross and Biscione livery gloriously detailed and, fuzzy rear quarter Alfa Corse graphics aside, beautifully sharp, the car has multiple parts, including a printed spoiler and a really great full roll cage piece too, like they used to in the good old days. I love a good roll cage!
Isn't it a brilliant piece of work, though? This is what a premium model should be. It also shows why I routinely open up my cars - to appreciate the fine workmanship fully and add some extra touches to the interior that really make it shine, like the 12 o'clock mark, seatbelts, handbrake and fire extinguisher (I did wonder about a shade band, but I'm unconvinced). If only all premiums were this well made, they might start to approach value for money.
Okay—when it comes to some messages, my inbox isn’t letting me answer directly, so I’m going to respond here instead!
“Do you think current Feyre looks down and hates humans? Why do you think she looks down on humans? Has she always had that way deep inside even before Turning fae or was the IC a major influence on that thinking?
How do you think Nesta views humans now that she is Fae? Do you think she views herself as better than them or she still loves and values her kind—humans—even though she is no longer human?
Do you think Elain views humans the same as Feyre and the IC? Or that one day she will start to view humans as they do? If given the chance, could you see both Elain or Nesta going back to being human if they could?
Do you believe even though unfortunate for the girls that them being changed and made was for the best or for the worse for them?
How would you feel if this was real life and faes existed, and you were turned fae—just like Nesta and Elain—had no say and was forced to be something you never wanted in the first place? Do you think you’d be angry and depressed for a long time? Do you think you’d eventually make do with it? Or would you be happy about the pros that comes with being Fae?”
Does Current Feyre Look Down on Humans? And Has She Always?
I think when it comes to Feyre, the most telling shift isn’t necessarily in what she says about humans—but in how she stops identifying with them entirely.
She doesn’t hate humans outright, but I truly believe she just doesn’t see herself in them anymore. That’s what makes her relationship with her former humanity so haunting. The girl who once starved and hunted and clawed for scraps has been slowly swallowed by power, privilege, and the ideological detachment of the Night Court.
The Feyre we meet in ACOTAR is sharp-edged, cynical, survival-driven—but grounded. She understands need. She understands what it means to be overlooked. But by the time we reach ACOWAR and beyond, Feyre’s entire sense of identity is shaped around the idea of transcending that past. She doesn’t want to return to it. She doesn’t want to look back. She doesn’t even really talk about her humanity anymore except to frame it as a burden she overcame.
And the IC reinforces that. They constantly equate mortality with weakness. So of course Feyre, who was once defined by her ability to protect others, would grow into someone who sees power—not empathy—as the only way to survive. In that context, mortals stop being familiar. They become fragile. Foreign. Less than. Not because she explicitly hates them—but because she no longer sees herself reflected in them.
She’s looking into a mirror and seeing a stranger—and that’s the scariest part.
How Does Nesta View Humans Now That She’s Fae?
This is where the contrast is stark.
Nesta does not see herself as better than humans. In fact, she still sees herself as human. That’s part of why she reacts so violently to her transformation—it’s not just about losing control. It’s about being forced to become something she never wanted to be, at the hands of fae who never valued her humanity to begin with.
Unlike Feyre, Nesta doesn’t idolize fae culture or power. She doesn’t take to it naturally. She doesn’t forget where she came from. Her interactions with mortals, her protectiveness over the priestesses in the library—all of it suggests that she continues to hold deep empathy for people who are overlooked and cast aside, especially those without physical power.
It’s what makes her the natural foil to Rhysand and his court, who think power justifies every action.
Elain’s Perspective: Present & Future
Elain’s perspective is murkier—but not without signs.
So far, Elain is the one sister who still physically clings to comforts: the garden, the quiet, the dresses, the softness. It’s easy to read that as a love for her old life—but it might also be a refusal to engage with her current one.
Elain doesn’t confront what’s been done to her. She doesn’t name her trauma. And while that doesn’t mean she hasn’t suffered, it means that she’s containing it in silence, letting others project onto her. So when it comes to humans, she doesn’t say much—she doesn’t say anything—but that silence is slowly becoming dangerous. The more she allows herself to be shaped by others (especially the IC), the more likely it is she’ll become like them.
Elain has always been about adapting for survival. She doesn’t challenge systems—she slips beneath them. And that includes internalizing the Fae way of thinking.
So yes, I think Elain is the most likely to one day view humans the way the IC does—with a quiet sort of pity, a disconnect. Unless something pulls her out of that trajectory, she’ll become one of them by default.
If Given the Chance, Would Elain or Nesta Go Back to Being Human?
Nesta: Yes. Without hesitation. If she could take the power and give it back, I think she would. Being made into something else was a theft of her will. She hates that. Even if being Fae comes with advantages, she values her humanity too much to accept what was done to her. Her trauma is tied not just to the war, but to transformation without consent.
Elain: I’m not sure. I think Elain would say yes. But when the time came, she might hesitate. Because now she’s in a system where her beauty and quietness are praised. As a human, she would have been married off and forgotten. As a fae, she’s still a pawn—but a valued one. There’s a dark allure to that.
Was Being Made Fae a Blessing or a Curse?
For all three sisters, I think the answer is the same: it depends who you ask—and who benefits.
From a survival standpoint, being fae kept them alive. But from a moral standpoint? From a trauma standpoint? It was a violation. They lost the right to choose what their bodies would become. Their lives were rewritten by violence. Their “salvation” came at the cost of identity, autonomy, and peace.
And the courts treat it like a gift.
That’s the insidious part.
What If This Were Real? If I Were Turned Fae?
This is where it becomes deeply personal.
If I were forced to become something I never asked to be—something that altered my body, my lifespan, my future—I’d be devastated. Furious. Grieving. Because what happened to the Archeron sisters is bodily violation, cloaked in beauty and power.
And grief doesn’t go away just because the new life looks prettier. I’d mourn everything I’d lost. My future. My humanity. My choice.
Eventually, maybe I’d make peace with it. Maybe I’d find community, and safety, and even joy. But it wouldn’t erase the betrayal. And I’d carry that scar forever.
Spirits reflecting strength, perseverance, and justice are among the most resolute entities in the Fade. These spirits embody qualities often admired by mortals and other spirits alike—leadership, bravery, determination, and moral integrity. While they are primarily drawn to moments of moral or physical conflict, their presence transcends combat and extends into acts of personal sacrifice, leadership, and the pursuit of justice.
Spirits: Command, Duty, Honor, Justice, Rebellion, and Valor.
Note: There is very little information about Strength-Based Spirits in the DA lore. Below are theories surmised from the lore, not necessarily confirmed as canon.
Spirit of Command
Essence: A Spirit of Command embodies authority, leadership, and the innate ability to inspire and direct others. It thrives in situations requiring strategic insight, confidence, and assertive guidance.
Behavior: These spirits are decisive and composed, often taking on a commanding presence in both physical and moral battles. They act as figures of authority, guiding other spirits or mortals to act with purpose and coordination.
Interactions with Mortals: They might manifest in the dreams of military leaders, inspiring strategies or instilling confidence before critical battles. They value individuals who lead with responsibility and clarity.
Potential Danger: If corrupted, a Spirit of Command may become a Pride Demon, twisting its authority into dominance and tyranny, demanding obedience at all costs.
Examples of Spirit of Command: We meet a Spirit of Command in Crestwood.
Example Interaction:
A general plagued by indecision might dream of a towering figure with a commanding voice, offering clarity and purpose before a decisive battle.
Spirit of Duty
Essence: A Spirit of Duty embodies obligation, responsibility, and the steadfast commitment to serve a cause or protect others.
Behavior: These spirits are dependable and selfless, often acting as quiet but firm presences in moments of uncertainty. They value those who sacrifice their comfort or safety for the well-being of others.
Interactions with Mortals: They might appear to guards, soldiers, or caregivers, reinforcing their sense of responsibility during moments of doubt.
Potential Danger: If corrupted, a Spirit of Duty might become a Despair Demon, overwhelmed by a sense of failure or an inability to fulfill its responsibilities.
Examples of Spirits of Duty: I can't find any in lore at the moment, but Spirits of Duty are listed in the DA wiki.
Example Interaction:
A guard wavering in their resolve to protect a gate during an attack might hear a steady voice reminding them of their duty.
Spirit of Honor
Essence: A Spirit of Honor represents personal integrity, adherence to moral codes, and pride in maintaining one’s values.
Behavior: These spirits are principled and steadfast, often serving as impartial observers or protectors of moral integrity. They value consistency in one's ethics and actions.
Interactions with Mortals: They are drawn to knights, warriors, or leaders who hold themselves to high moral standards, appearing as visions or whispers reinforcing their principles.
Potential Danger: If corrupted, a Spirit of Honor might become a Pride Demon, its integrity warping into arrogance and a belief in moral superiority.
Examples of Spirit of Honor: We don't have one, but Merrill mentions Spirits of Honor in DA2 (I have not confirmed this yet)
Example Interaction:
A knight facing a morally complex decision might feel the presence of a spirit reminding them of their oath and responsibilities.
Spirit of Justice
Essence: A Spirit of Justice embodies fairness, moral balance, and the enforcement of ethical principles.
Behavior: These spirits are forceful and deliberate, driven to correct injustices and right moral wrongs. They do not tolerate corruption, exploitation, or cruelty.
Interactions with Mortals: They might inhabit or guide mortals who are actively fighting against oppression or injustice, serving as guiding forces for reformers or protectors.
Potential Danger: If corrupted, a Spirit of Justice may become a Vengeance Demon, twisting its righteous cause into indiscriminate and destructive revenge.
Example of Spirits of Justice: Justice as seen first in Dragon Age: Awakening and later in DA2.
Example Interaction:
In Dragon Age: Awakening, Justice, a spirit inhabiting the body of the Grey Warden Kristoff, exemplifies this spirit’s drive to right wrongs.
Spirit of Rebellion
Essence: A Spirit of Rebellion embodies the fight for freedom, resistance against oppression, and the strategic aspects of uprising.
Behavior: These spirits are cunning and strategic, often working in indirect ways to dismantle oppressive systems and inspire uprisings. They thrive in moments of organized defiance against tyranny.
Interactions with Mortals: They might influence rebel leaders, offering clarity in planning or inspiring acts of defiance that spark wider movements.
Potential Danger: If corrupted, a Spirit of Rebellion might become a Pride Demon, obsessed with the righteousness of its cause and dismissive of collateral damage.
Examples of Spirit of Rebellion: Only data-mined notes from DATV.
Example Interaction:
A revolutionary leader planning a decisive strike might receive a vision offering insight into an enemy’s weakness.
Spirit of Valor
Essence: A Spirit of Valor reflects courage and honor, particularly in combat or moments of great personal challenge. It thrives on acts of daring bravery and chivalrous conduct.
Behavior: These spirits are noble and bold, exuding confidence and a sense of righteous purpose. They are drawn to moments of heroism and sacrifice.
Interactions with Mortals: A Spirit of Valor might lend strength or courage to a soldier about to face overwhelming odds, or appear in dreams to instill determination before a critical event.
Potential Danger: If corrupted, a Spirit of Valor might become a Pride Demon, obsessed with proving its superiority through endless displays of dominance.
Example of Spirit of Valor:
- DAO: During the Mage origins, we meet a Spirit of Valor in the Fade. - DAI: There is a Spirit of Valor in DAI during the quest 'A Spirit in the Lake.' - DATV: There is a Spirit of Valor in Hall of Valor.
Example Interaction:
A lone knight holding a bridge against an advancing enemy might feel a surge of unshakable courage as a Spirit of Valor manifests nearby.
Role in the Fade
Strength-based spirits embody ideals such as courage, honor, justice, and valor, serving as anchors of stability and moral integrity in the chaotic Fade. They create bastions of order, protect weaker spirits and dreamers from corruption, and act as mediators in spiritual conflicts. Drawn to mortal dreams and intense emotional experiences, they offer guidance, clarity, and resilience in moments of doubt or fear. Their presence stands as a reminder that strength and purpose can endure, even in the most turbulent corners of the Fade.
Corruption and Demonic Transformations
When their guiding principles are twisted or taken to extremes, Strength-Based spirits can become some of the most dangerous and domineering demons in both the Fade and the physical world.
Spirit of Command → Pride Demon - Corruption Trigger: When authority turns into obsession with control and dominance, a Spirit of Command becomes a Pride Demon.
Spirit of Duty → Despair Demon - Corruption Trigger: When obligation becomes an unbearable weight or a perceived failure to meet responsibility festers, a Spirit of Duty may turn into a Despair Demon.
Spirit of Honor → Pride Demon - Corruption Trigger: When personal integrity warps into self-righteousness or moral superiority, a Spirit of Honor can become a Pride Demon.
Spirit of Justice → Vengeance Demon - Corruption Trigger: When fairness and moral balance are overtaken by anger or the inability to right wrongs, a Spirit of Justice becomes a Vengeance Demon.
Spirit of Rebellion → Pride Demon - Corruption Trigger: When rebellion transforms into obsession with power or an inability to accept any authority, a Spirit of Rebellion may become a Pride Demon.
Spirit of Valor → Pride Demon - Corruption Trigger: When the pursuit of bravery and honor becomes an endless need to prove superiority, a Spirit of Valor can transform into a Pride Demon.
Mortals' Perspectives
The Chantry: generally regards all spirits with suspicion, including those of strength. Spirits like Justice or Valor might be seen as noble but inherently dangerous because of their susceptibility to corruption. Any spirit inhabiting a mortal body, such as Justice in Dragon Age: Awakening, would be considered an abomination, no matter the spirit’s intentions.
The Dalish View: The Dalish elves might view strength-based spirits as echoes of their ancient gods or revered protectors. Spirits like Valor or Honor could be interpreted as envoys of gods such as Elgar’nan (god of fatherhood and vengeance) or Andruil (goddess of the hunt). However, the Dalish remain cautious, as spirits can become demons if their purpose is twisted.
The Fading Melancholy of Summer-An Analysis of KH3
Twilight Town is a very interesting world when you compare it to the rest of the worlds in KH3. Instead of being a sprawling fantasy world Twilight Town is a small town filled to the brim with the locals and traditions. You see the children playing through their final days of summer, families visiting the new bistro, and the whole community coming together for Movie night. And this simplicity is all by design, Twilight Town’s main purpose in KH3 is to reexamine what Sora is fighting for and the melancholy that is intrinsic to said journey.
Sora first travels to Twilight Town in KH3 with the purpose of Finding a way to save Roxas with the rest of the world empathizing why this is So important. When Sora first enters the world he is flooded with a sense of nostalgia, feeling as if it’s been forever since he has visited this world despite him only being gone for a week or two. This is because Sora is feeling what Roxas feels, his love and longing for Twilight Town, the only world he considers his true home. And Sora is all too familiar with this feeling as he too was once taken away from his home, making Roxas a mirror of Sora’s past. And this is why Sora is so personally driven to save Roxas, because for him it is the same as saving a long lost brother.
Afterwards Sora is reunited with Hayner, Pence, and Olette. Upon hearing Roxas’s story and seeing the photo of him with their data doublegangers They are driven to help Save Roxas. But why is that? Why does the Twilight Town Trio wish to save someone they only meet once? Well that simple, in Kingdom hearts connections exist beyond just one version of a person. As shown by Rinzler in Dream Drop Distance Bonds of friendship are so powerful that they not only transcend worlds but time and space. Sora had never met the original version of Tron as the one Sora befriended was a copy, and Rinzler himself isn’t even the original version of Tron, just a dream copy made by the sleeping world. And yet Sora still felt a connection to Rinzler, still saw him as a friend, and so did Rinzler in turn as he gave his life to save Sora’s. The same thing happens with both the real and data versions of Twilight Town. To Roxas the days spent in the Data Twilight Town was the best time of his life. For the first time ever Roxas got to act like a real kid, play with his friends without worry, and enjoy a summer vacation. Though his life there might have been fake his feelings weren't. The friendship he felt with the data copies of Hayner, Pence, and Olette was as real as any other connection, allowing those feelings to transcend the data world and into the real world. Roxas is for more than just Sora’s Nobody, he is his own person who not only has bonds of his own but a place in this world.
Sora’s need to save Roxas is perhaps the most important part of Sora’s motivation in Kingdom Hearts 3 as it exemplifies why Sora fights. Sora is a hero but not in the traditional way of being a great warrior who takes down a giant monster or archives something extraordinary. No Sora is a hero in that he is someone who sees the value in all hearts and constantly fights to save them. Sora does not give up on people, he does not accept the tragic fates of others, nor does he believe people are beyond saving. To him every heart has a light that will never go out and as long as that light still shines Sora will fight for them. This is why Twilight Town’s story is built around empathizing the importance of saving Roxas, because saving people like Roxas are the entire Reason Sora fights. It’s why when confronted by Xemnas and Ansem Sora whole heartedly rejects the idea that Saving Roxas is an act of darkness
Though Roxas isn’t the only reason Sora fights the forces of Darkness. Through Kh3’s depiction of Twilight Town heavy focus is placed on the people and their simple joy. The world is covered head to toe with also sorts of different people just living their lives. You see children playing through the streets, adults gossiping about the latest trends, people enjoying a nice cold sea salt ice cream in the summer heat, families eating at the Bistro, or the entire community coming together to watch movies. Even the gameplay mechanics feed into this sense of community. Twilight town is designed to be a place for you to come back to after every visit and just enjoy some downtime. It's where you go to cook with a little chef, synthesize items with the Moogles, and mail in your prize postcards. It’s also the world that introduces you to the lucky emblems and Classic Kingdom, the only parts of Sora’s journey that are not entangled in the conflict between Light and Darkness.
Twilight Town is a place of peace for Sora, Donald and Goofy, The embodiment of community. These carefree summer days and simple bonds are what Sora fights for, and when they heartless attacks it makes it all the more apparent why Sora can not refuse Xehanort’s call to action. Sora’s return to Twilight Town in Kingdom Hearts 3 is marked by an attack of The Demon Tide. One of the most powerful of Heartless. This monster represents the true horrors that lie within the darkness. A faceless hivemind whose body consists of nothing more than tangled legs that scample around in both pain and pleasure. More soulless than any other heartless The Demon Tide seeks destruction alone, like an avatar of gluttony it consumes not just hearts but all it sees. And as soon as it lays its ghastly tendrils upon the world Twilight Town goes from peaceful suburbs to a battlefield, where the people have vanished and their culture is erased. When the heartless appear, Twilight Town is rendered nothing more than a corpse that is only spared from its fate by Sora’s efforts. Though it is only a temporary victory. The Demon Tide was not vanquished and can always return as long as those that beckon the darkness continue to impose their heart on others.
Sora soon learns what brought The Demon Tide to this world when he comes face to face with two old enemies. It Was Xemnas and Ansem’s mere presence in the world that drew the Demon Tide to it. Xehanort’s return through off the balance between light and darkness, and as he other selves travel between worlds they bring the heartless with them. No world is safe as long as Xehanort continues to spread his heart like plague. As The King of Heartless and the king Nobodies stand before him Sora is faced with a terrible truth, he can not escape his own destiny. Sora must face the 13 seekers of Darkness. If not they will continue to endanger worlds and strip the people of their smiles.
Sora is a hero because he is always fighting for the sake of others. Whether it be for those that share his heart with or strangers he’s just meant. Sora will continue to travel, continue to fight, and continue to risk his life for the sake of others' smiles. Just like when he does tricks on the barrels to make the people of Twilight Town laugh, Sora accepts his cruel fate for the sake of protecting the joy of others. Even if that means he can never truly partake in that happiness himself.
