Indiana Jones & the Great Circle Arrives This Year and I'm Ready For Adventure
Back in 2021, Bethesda revealed that they had an Indiana Jones game in the works and I got pretty excited about it. The announcement had come within a year of me playing through the first three Uncharted games and I couldn’t help but muse that Xbox didn’t have an Uncharted competitor. I believed the then-untitled Indiana Jones game could be it, writing: I’m not going to mince words here:…

Harmonix Is Ending 'Rock Band 4' DLC While 'Fortnite Festival' Takes the Main Stage
I didn't realize that Rock Band 4 had been getting weekly DLC. for the last 8 years. Honestly impressed at Harmonix's dedication to their player base.
After over 8 years of weekly Rock Band 4 DLC releases, we’re here to let you know that January 25 will be the last DLC release of the RB4 era. All other live services will continue as normal, including Rivals seasons, online play, and everything else. Harmonix Blog Admittedly I never actually played Rock Band 4 so I didn’t realize the game was still receiving weekly DLC. Finding out that it was…

'Kingdom Hearts IV' Is in the Works
Square Enix and Disney have announced that 'Kingdom Hearts IV' is in the works and I couldn't be more excited. Check out my thoughts in this new blog post!
In a move that I didn’t think Square Enix and Disney would make, the two companies took time during a brief event celebrating the franchises’ 20th anniversary to announce both a new mobile title and also reveal that Kingdom Hearts IV is in the works. Based on the vibe I got from the reveal, this game is going to be something entirely new, while also being everything you know and love about the…

Remastered Courses Are Coming to 'Mario Kart 8 Deluxe'
Yesterday, Nintendo announced that they are releasing 48 new courses through the end of 2023 and I have a few thoughts on this. The short version? 🥳
When Nintendo announced that the first Nintendo Direct of 2022 would be Feb. 9th, speculation about what would be announced immediately ran rampant across the internet. One of the big requests a lot of gamers had was for a new installment in the Mario Kart franchise — specifically, Mario Kart 9. It seems Nintendo managed to simultaneously hear and ignore their player base, as the Nintendo Direct…

Marvel Found a Way to Canonize Every Film Ever (And I'm Here for It)
Marvel Found a Way to Canonize Every Film Ever (And I’m Here for It)
With the release of the first trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel Studios has shown that not only is the multiverse officially present across all their properties, but that everything is canon now. In the trailer for the highly anticipated film, Alfred Molina makes an appearance as Doctor Otto Octavious, a role that he previously played in 2004’s Spider-Man 2, from Multiverse of Madness…

I Don't Understand the Pixel Remaster Strategy | Final Fantasy
I Don’t Understand the Pixel Remaster Strategy | Final Fantasy
Last week, Square Enix released their new pixel remasters of Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, and Final Fantasy III on Steam, Android and iOS. I get why the games are on these platforms, but I do struggle to understand why the games are only on these platforms. Missing from the announcement of the release were the three main home console platforms: Sony’s PlayStation, Microsoft’s Xbox, and…

Does Nintendo Know What to Do With Its Classic Games?
Does Nintendo Know What to Do With Its Classic Games?
I’ve been a Nintendo fan my entire life. While the company doesn’t always try to keep up with the latest trends in gaming, there’s no denying that without Nintendo, the modern gaming industry would look a lot different — if it even existed at all. But in recent years, it’s becoming increasingly obvious that Nintendo struggles in one area in particular: figuring out what to do with its incredibly…

Let's Talk About the OLED Nintendo Switch
Let’s Talk About the OLED Nintendo Switch
After months of rumors about a Nintendo Switch Pro model, Nintendo has finally revealed the next release of the home/handheld hybrid: Nintendo Switch (OLED Model). That’s right — despite what rumors suggested, Nintendo was, in fact, not working on a more powerful version of their current console, but rather a slightly upgraded model. While I do have some thoughts on the new hardware, I do also…

‘Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point’ #1 Review
Written by: Christos GageArt by: Reilly BrownPublisher: DC ComicsCover Price: $4.99Release Date: April 20th, 2021 If there’s one thing that the popular battle royale title Fortnite is known for, it’s crossovers, no matter how epic or ridiculous. Since I started playing the game a few seasons back, I’ve come to the realization that the crossover aspect of the game is what makes its appeal so…

Humble Bundle Just Got a Little Less Humble
Humble Bundle Just Got a Little Less Humble
In a blog post released Friday, Humble Bundle (owned and operated by IGN parent company Ziff Davis, LLC.) announced that they were removing sliders to adjust how much of your purchase goes to charity and capping that portion at 15%. I do want to say that as a long time fan of Humble Bundles, I’m very bothered by this. I’ve been buying bundles on Humble for a number of years because they have…

The Problems with Buying Video Games at Launch
The Problems with Buying Video Games at Launch
“If you love a game, buy it at f***ing full price.” That was John Garvin’s response to being asked by game designer David Jaffe about an “uptick of meaningful engagement” for the game Days Gone, since it was added to the PlayStation 5’s PlayStation Plus Collection. The second I read these words in an article about his appearance on David Jaffe’s Youtube channel, I had a lot of thoughts to say. I…

The Case for a Hybrid Release for 'Black Widow'
The Case for a Hybrid Release for ‘Black Widow’
Several days ago, Disney had an investor call where CEO Bob Chapek confirmed that the next film for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Black Widow, is still set for a theatrical only release on May 7th. This is a major mistake on Disney’s part if you ask me. On the one hand, I’m disappointed that Black Widow has been delayed as long as it has. Scarlett Johansson is a fantastic actress and a solo…

Revisiting 'Avengers'
Revisiting ‘Avengers’
Remember when I was having a lot of fun playing Marvel’s Avengers? Yeah — that didn’t last. Once I lived inside the post-game for a while, the environments began to feel the same and everything began to feel like a grid. I told myself “I’ll come back when they release the Kate Bishop DLC”. I didn’t. The game fell by the wayside as I upgraded to a Series X and got sucked into games like…

I Don't Understand Why Multiplayer Costs On Consoles
After watching the #XboxLive pricing fiasco this week, I really just want to say that I don’t understand WHY consoles charge for multiplayer when PC gets it for free — especially when Sony and Microsoft are very clearly trying to emulate PCs in the way their hardware is now structured. #gaming
It’s been an interesting week for the gaming community — specifically on the Xbox side of things. Over the course of the last few days, [Microsoft announced a price hike](https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2021/01/22/update-on-xbox-live-gold-pricing/) for their Gold membership, needed to play **all** multiplayer games online — including free-to-play titles like _Fortnite_. Within 24 hours, due to…
