i like taking things as they are and recreating how they make me feel.
a mundane reel of a man on a car ride with his dogs. i simply added all the mellow warmth i could feel in the car.

All the little ✨details✨
I’m excited to share the whole piece once the print is completed. Fantastical landscapes are among my favorite projects.

the Sketch vs the Outcome
This piece is from the very bottom of my heart. These past 6 months, it’s been difficult to find the motivation to create. The thing I loved doing most suddenly felt so mundane. The ability to sit in the window and draw in peace and safety is a luxury I felt guilty about for quite some time.. and still do. I’d pick up my pen to sketch out my feelings and nothing would come of it but the names of the children whose corpses will be enshrined in my mind for the rest of my life. The first thing on my mind in the morning and the last thing on my mind before I sleep at night, is the Palestinians.
I owe the creation of this work to the Palestinians, whose steadfastness and unwavering faith and patience has not only inspired me, but completely changed my perception of this life. They have shown me that creating is never ever mundane. And it is important to create, especially in dark times, especially when the world is changing. It is important to find expression beyond words when there are no words to express what is happening. It is important to create even when it makes people uncomfortable - even when it makes the artist uncomfortable.
Every stroke in this piece was intuitive and it ties every pain, wish, and prayer swirling in my head, these 200 days, into a neatly woven tapestry of love and passion for the Freedom of the Palestinian people.

Confession of a grieving Palestinian, forever away from home.
(For the record, hopelessness does not mean giving up. When you feel like you can do so little, just do what you can. Donate. Protest. Scream the truth.)

Sunset at the Serpent’s Bay
I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and create a mythical little world while experimenting with scenery.
I broke out of my art block through this piece! Thanks to the creative block, every aspect of this work was done intentionally, and bit by bit- with each stroke being erased and re-done several times over. It resulted in one of the most beautifully detailed and colored pieces in my collection today. This piece is a product of frustration, experimentation , and perseverance. I have to say that working on a little bit each day proved way more effective in breaking the block than stepping away completely. I look forward to creating more imaginative pieces like this in the future. I find that my most vivid ideas are born out of tedious and mundane processes.
the watermark on the dragon will not be on prints - trying to find creative ways to protect my art without plastering my name across the front.

Brewster McClouds 1970 Photo of Shelley Duvall is my favorite vintage photo of all time. Shelley’s stare is especially intense because of her signature bold lashes that are softened by the roundness of her eyes. I wanted to illustrate the playfulness of the photo through vibrant color while keeping the darkness of her eyes as the focal point. I especially love illustrating faces because the up-close perspective encompasses an intimacy that tells a story about the person in the photo.

My sketch of Michael Scott is … in the uncanny valley. Bit of a creative block at the moment so… office comics?

Something to be said about artists who make a work come to life with line-work alone. Beautiful work.
