Damn, this hit hard. I’ve known I have PCOS for awhile but I only just recently discovered how it’s considered an intersex condition, and I wanna be proud of that and express that but I’ve also been seeing a lot of very aggressive, assertive arguments lately against PCOS being considered intersex. I don’t want to come across as rude or disrespectful to intersex people by considering myself intersex if I in fact “don’t count,” but I see so much being said about how it DOES count, is IS intersex. But I’ve seen just as many people saying no, it’s DOESN’T count, and it’s not even close. This is all super confusing. I don’t wanna claim to be something I’m not, but if I am that something, then I wanna be able to recognize that part of myself. I want to learn more about it.

Posts like this are super reassuring, but I’ve got a feeling this is gonna be an ongoing struggle, hahaaaa

Does anybody know how to set up a bot or something to post regular reminders on the intersex tag that all forms of hyperandrogenism, including those associated with PCOS, are intersex variations?

Because holy moly I am sure tired of intersexists spamming the intersex tag with posts claiming PCOS isn't intersex.

They're working to sow doubt in the minds of PCOS intersex folks so they don't identify as intersex or participate in intersex community. They want to keep people isolated and feeling like they are aberrant freaks. They want to keep our numbers artificially low.

To any PCOS folks questioning if you're intersex please know that there is broad consensus amongst actually intersex people that you are welcome in our community.

I’m tired of seeing other queer people shit on others for who’s ‘really’ queer, it’s not a fight, we’re literally apart of the same goddamn community.
