The thing about Solas is that he really does care. A lot. He's so much more emotional than he lets on, and somewhere deeeeeep down that emotion is genuine kindness.

Wisdom is a gentle emotion, and it's also a kind emotion. It's not as overt as compassion, but the whole point of wisdom is to learn from experience so you don't make the same mistake or get hurt again. And wisdom doesn't exist in a vacuum. it's a twofer - having wisdom and sharing wisdom with others so they also learn and benefit from your own experiences. That's why elders, be they human or animal, are meant to be respected. They know the safe paths, they know the pitfalls, and they know the dangers to avoid. They don't just guide themselves, they guide the whole family, and every subsequent generation is just that bit safer as wisdom grows.

Tangent, but also why he's been around for so long, just shy of the more primal emotions like fear, love, and desire. Wisdom is an old emotion, from the first time someone learned what sort of water to drink or berry to avoid. He has existed for eons, and for most of it, he was kind.

"Do you know how long I've wanted to meet him? But there isn't a single trace of him for a year. I'd give anything for his autograph, Neve" she said, excited, waving her hands, while bouncing in place. The Demon of Vyrantium was what had inspired her even in her combat techniques, Rook thought, still not believing it. And could she meet him, just like that? For a moment, she thanked the bald guy trapped in her head, emitting a timid prayer towards him. Weaver, in her head, sighed heavily, as if he were trying to hold back his laughter. I don't know if he would be so happy about such a…vacuous prayer, he told her, with laughter in that thought. Rook smiled slightly. "Well, let him settle, because it's the only one he's going to receive"

Their warmth was transmitted throughout the Inquisitor's body, which had closed her eyes at the inevitability, but that made her open them, suddenly. Her heart began to beat fervently when violet eyes locked on hers, causing that same warmth to spread throughout her body.

"Careful," Solas held her in his arms with a frown, preventing her from falling further while turning her to one side, catching her lightly, avoiding the ravine. Lavellan felt the world stagger, as she watched the sky begin to spin, slightly.

A little Snippet of my long fic of Dragon Age ✨

Lavellan didn't like Death. She wasn't in love with him, no. She couldn't harbor any feeling similar to love again, not after Solas's betrayal. Her heart would only belong to him and she knew it, to her disgrace. But she always wondered something, when she noticed those touches of Death, so indifferent, but so full of some emotion that he didn't want to say: What if she tried to fall in love again? She fixed her gaze on him, who frowned slightly, running a finger over the limits of her face, analyzing the shape of her cheeks, with curiosity. Lavellan breathed in slowly, letting those thoughts follow their course. What if she fell in love with Death? He was faithful. He wasn't going to betray her, he had taken care of her since she knew him. Besides, his outer appearance wasn't bad at all; she could also feel attracted to him in that sense. She could want to kiss him. She looked at his lips, tilting her head slightly, to which Death raised both eyebrows, curious. His smile tilted again, while he ran his finger this time over her lips, slowly. "What are you thinking about, Sia? " he asked her, lowering the tone of voice, making Lavellan avert her gaze, for a moment, embarrassed. "Nothing." "Liar." Suddenly, his hand grabbed her chin, harshly, making her look at him abruptly, with a groan of pain at the squeeze of his fingers on her cheeks. Death brought his face closer to hers, tilting his head, with that cold expression that characterized him so much, as if he was only looking at a very curious insect. Lavellan swallowed, slowly, at his gaze. "Death…" "Sia" he cut her off, abruptly, taking her hair with the other hand, without delicacy this time, tangling it in his hand. "I am not your second dish. If you want me, it has to be whole" he growled, getting dangerously closer to her, his breath falling on her lips, painted black. "I am not the substitute of your wolf."

" Rook shook her head fervently, trying not to laugh at the irony of having her right next to her, with a scared face. "Why would she contact me, Solas? We both have the agreement closed and more than ready. The last time I heard from her was a year ago." Solas diverted his gaze again, but Rook had time to see the sadness that was lodged in his gaze, along with some disappointment. "She and I… We were close. I thought she might get to contact you before reaching me. If you had any clue…" he asked her, in a low voice, this time with sincerity. Next to Rook, a snort of indignation was heard. Lavellan separated from her, posing her hands on her hip, when looking at him. "Close? Only close? " Lavellan growled, with rage. Ay, Solas, how you screwed up, Rook thought with a grimace. So she did what any friend would do in these occasions. She turned around, smiling slyly at the god, while raising a hand, saying goodbye. "Who knows. Oops, my time is running out. See you later, crocodile." A small piece of my Solavellan fanfic on Ao3 Lavellan was left alone, with the breeze stirring the white dress that she had found in one of the upper rooms of the lighthouse, after taking off her armor. She turned her head upwards, looking at that strange sky above her, sighing.

It was weird.

After so long searching, after so many headaches, because of Fen'Harel's agents... And now, so easily, they knew where Solas was for sure. Lavellan knew that he was going to stay there, until he himself discovered how to get out. Lavellan clenched her left fist, the metal, silver, almost white, resenting a little.

She closed her eyes, feeling the wind of the Beyond.

"I will never forget you"

Lavellan remembered those words, said in the whisper of the wind. The same words that Solas had told her eight years ago, as an inevitable farewell.

The same ones that drove her on this path, knowing that they were true, within all the lies that the Dread Wolf had come to tell her.

Ten years ago, she closed the Breach and defeated Corypheus, achieving a peace, broken into pieces by the constant civil wars, that she had had to deal with, to defend her people. Now, with two elven gods with a thirst for revenge milling around, the world was vibrating again with anticipation of the unknown, again relying on a few brave ones, the only ones who could prevent everything from going to waste. With those thoughts in her head and with a serious step, she went to the meeting, ready to save her world, again.

Even if her world was a stubborn god with somewhat suicidal tendencies, she said to herself, reluctant to admit it.
