The thing about the "individualist character learns to work as a team" is that it's a very nice lesson to learn, but it always talks from an extremely surface place. It's always about "I was a perfectionist/selfish/too shy, but now I learned to work with my friends".

It's never about how in real life a lot of individualists are actually absolute perfectionists who will never give other people a chance to work on what they're already doing for fear of ruining it, breaking it. People who have grown with personal trauma about always doing everything themselves, because they know how to do it, and how the outcome of anything will be, under their own hands. People who fear their precious babies will be broken by other people. And, if they leave the work to others, they will inevitably point out exactly how it's not working out, how it's not how they pictured it in their head, how they don't know what the hell they are doing. And that's a best case scenario.

At worst, a lot of individualists are at heart, power hungry bastards. They will never share success with people, they don't believe people in other people's success. At best, they're just ambitious people with personal and business agendas. At worst, they're true sociopaths, who will step over anyone who even dares to be better than them. Who will not share what they're doing. Who will create impossible scenarios to make you fail, and prove to you that they were always right and you were always wrong.

And, at the center of it, how "learning to work as a team" doesn't talk about the biggest issue: Capitalism, hardcore capitalism. How absolute capitalism makes people to step over others and try to be better than everybody else. That absolutely no one can take away your job, because it's your only job. Because anyone else can screw the one job they have, and drag you down with them. Because you gotta have the best job, clothes, clout and renown, more than anyone else. You can't be on top, if you work on a team. No one's going to recognize team work, you have to be "the leader", "the head honcho", "the man of ideas", "the saviour". The one with the plan, and the money. Capitalism doesn't care about "team work", unless that team is working for you, and you're not part of the team, and if your team doesn't work, then fuck them, and get another team, rinse and repeat, and fuck everybody else

People now think reblogging is an unusual behaviour, rather than a default.

Tumblr newbies, please, for the love of baby Jesus, reblog the posts you like. That is the whole reason the site exists - for you to collect all your shiny fandom objects in a single space. Which you can organize to your heart's content. Or not organize at all, if that's your jam.

Tumblr's misinformation and discourse is hilarious and unhinged in a funny way, a crazy old hippie dude in a New York subway that suddenly took you under his wing to tell you the craziest rants, and you swear they're actually an old master in a warlock secret society.

TikTok's misinformation and discourse feels unhinged in a very weird, Stranger Danger Please Let Go Of My Arm Sir way just like a bunch of people who have never opened a book in their lives but they can talk with the most assuredness that their Truth is the Only Truth, and still feel like they haven't left their room since 10 years before the pandemic and probably have piss jars under their bed.

tiktok is such an awful app, it's almost designed to feed you misinformation and expose you to insane discourse. unlike beloved tumblr, the app that feeds me misinformation and exposes me to insane discourse
