Ukraine.Real-life story fragment
Oksana Chorna Ukrainian Armed Forces
"Spoiler: I'm fine"
Tumblr media
...Have you ever washed blood off a car seat?Your own blood? There's a reason they say, 'You won't hear your own mortar whistling'... And I didn’t hear it either... Neither the whistle of the shell, nor the buzzing of the drone, nor even the sound of the launch. I remember smth(blood) pouring into my eye. I raised my left hand to wipe my cheek...
There was no pain at all. I ran to the car. Surprisingly, it was intact. I got in and drove away. The most horrifying injuries I saw at the stabilization point were cranio-cerebral injuries
When a pink mess that used to be responsible for thoughts, feelings, and memories spills from a hole in the head onto a white sheet.
Severed arms and legs, intestines neatly folded into a T-shirt, holes in the chest from which air escapes with a whistling sound—these can all be repaired. The essence of a person will live on, love, dream.
But the empty gaze of those who have lost themselves due to a traumatic brain injury scares me more than anything else...
...With my right hand, I steered the wheel, while with my left hand, I tried to feel my head to see if any foreign "artifacts of war" were sticking out of it. I even took a selfie to assess the extent of the damage to the "decision-making center" (my head).
Only after 10 minutes did I notice that blood was also flowing from my hand. I thought I needed to bandage it... At the next crossroads, I suddenly forgot where to go. It felt like I was here for the first time. Although I had already driven through the village twenty times.
A jeep drove by. I thought I should probably ask for help. But if they transferred me and took me to the stabilization point, I would have to leave my "Discovery" here, and then those bastards(russian soldiers) would definitely wreck it.
I didn't leave it either at the crossing in Bakhmut or in Avdiyivka, and I absolutely refuse to leave it here. I’m just obligated to get to the stabilization point by myself.
What scared me was that my wounds didn’t hurt. Just a dull noise in my head, like a severe migraine.
Closer to Konstantynivka, I started to recognize the road. When I arrived at the stabilization point, I even parked the car by a tree and locked it...

The UAV crew of the "Rubizh" brigade
Each drone is personally tested by the crew commander to ensure it is functional and safe for the pilots.
Once it's cleared,it's ready for action😏💥🤫
The results speak for themselves—through the popular videos showcasing the destruction of enemy personnel and equipment, and the ever-growing statistics of russian losses

On July 19 twelve Ukrainian children were returned to their homeland from the temporarily occupied territories in the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions. They are now in the territory controlled by Ukraine.Families shared how they were forcibly issued russian passports, without which they were deprived of rights.
"Doctors do not accept even children with special needs who need careful care. However, parents are offered to send their children for 'rehabilitation,' which often turns out to be deportation or forced relocation. Some children had to attend 'russian schools,' where active propaganda for 'russian world' was conducted," said Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets.
Those who have been returned report that russians in the Temporarily Occupied Territories detain, beat, and torture adults with electricity, apply psychological pressure, and interrogate children without their parents, also using torture methods.
!!!Using tortures to the children!!!
Photos and information about Ukrainian children who were kidnapped and transported to russia during the early months of the full-scale invasion in 2022 are being posted by the occupiers on adoption websites.

The "Continental" was considered the best hotel in Kiev, located on the modern-day Arhitektora Horodetskoho Street. The hotel featured steam heating, hot water, two elevators, electricity, and ventilation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Kyiv elite not only came to the restaurant to have dinner but also to socialize with friends and conduct business. The cost of a luxury room at the "Continental" was 15 rubles – half of an average worker's monthly salary.
In the basement of the hotel, members of the "HLAM" club (Artists, Writers, Musicians, and Actors) would gather. Among them, one could meet Pavlo Tychyna, Georgy Narbut, Les Kurbas, and many others. In the evenings, poets recited their verses and received free food – porridge, bread, and tea.

Rescuers saved the cat from the rubble. A few moments before a russian strike on Myrnohrad, a cat started meowing like crazy and calling his human to go into another room. She listened, and that saved both of their lives.

Saw a video of a phone ringing inside a body bag today in Kharkiv after russians hit the city with missiles. There were many videos like this before. And it's terrifying every time. Someone on the other line is desperately waiting for the person in a body bag to pick up. I don't know how this type of pain can be put into words and how to live with it.

Offencive on Kharkiv
Another offencive on Kharkiv began around 4 a.m. on May 10th
Fighting commenced in the northern region of Kharkiv Oblast, towards Kharkiv and Vovchansk. Prior to the onset of hostilities in the northern region of Kharkiv Oblast, artillery preparation was initiated, followed immediately by intense shelling. As a result, a ground offensive towards Vovchansk began. The russians actively employed radar jamming against Ukrainian drones and UAVs. Simultaneously, aside from repelling the attack, Ukrainians began evacuating civilians. Military personnel, police, and volunteers were all involved in the efforts.
Tumblr media
There were thoughts that the main objective of the offensive on Kharkiv was to divert attention from other areas. Later, there were theories that the enemy would shift forces towards Sumy. Kharkiv is relentlessly shelled with all kinds of weapons, and in the occupied territories, russian terrorists are executing civilians. Continuous enemy shelling is taking the lives of Ukrainians.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Despite being told that the front has stabilized, the russians continue to relentlessly shell residential areas, places with large gatherings of people, and cultural sites.
Tumblr media
The strike on the large "Epicenter" mall in Kharkiv proves the brutality of the beasts Ukraine is fighting against. It appears the strike was aimed directly at the shopping center, not to the left or right. This was a direct attack on civilians gathering

Cultural Heritage of Kharkiv
Boyko House
Tumblr media
The House for I. Boyko, architects S. Timoshenko and P. Shirshov was built in 1912
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The building was initially two-story. The mansion belonged to entrepreneur Boyko and included three apartments. The hall with a marble staircase was illuminated through a glass roof. In 1914, the vestibule and staircase walls were painted by artist Mykola Samokish. The hall was also adorned with a panel by Sergiy Vasylkivsky. In 1930, the building was transferred to the nkvd department, and the mansion was converted into an apartment building by adding two floors, but the original roof and tower were dismantled. The walls with paintings were half-painted over and then whitewashed, and Vasylkivsky's panel was discarded.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later, artists cleaned the paintings from the paint.
The entrance was decorated with a floral ornament.
On the northern side, there was also a picturesque panel by Sergei Vasylkivsky, but it was completely lost.
In 1970, the whitewash was removed.
Already in 2006, a professor from the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts, together with students, conducted a comprehensive study of the painting. They examined the ornament under ultraviolet light and a microscope and involved a chemistry expert. They then developed a restoration methodology. Over the course of two months, they restored two fragments. These fragments had seven layers of paint of different compositions from different periods.

The summits of mine dumps may possess a conical shape and stand out as notable landscape features, but they can also be flat and eroded. A mine dump is formed from waste rock delivered from the mine or quarry to the apex of the cone by railcars, skip hoists, or conveyors.
