Like I am actively trying to avoid hp stuff to the best of my ability, due to already above mentioned reasons, but it doesn't stop the news and all the other stuff still getting pushed to my feed and social media to the point that I would have to literally have to delete all of them to avoid seeing any hp stuff (which I am not about to fucking do because, hello??? the internet is where my friends are at?!?!)

So instead whenever I'm hearing about hp or hp related stuff again, imma work on my own projects instead.

part of the reason I think it’s so sad that we collectively write so few stories about unrequited love is bc I feel like there’s very little public acknowledgment of how much it sucks to be the one somebody is in unrequited love with??? and not in a way of like, oh they’re crossing boundaries or putting expectations on me or whatever. becoming close friends with someone and then finding out they’re in love with you and you don’t love them back the same way is heartbreaking, bc a) someone you love is in pain and there is literally nothing you can do about it, and b) it usually means that whether you like it or not there’s going to be distance in your friendship that wasn’t there before as they try to get over you. idk man I just feel like we’ve all discussed the tragedy of loving someone who doesn’t love you back quite a lot and very rarely discuss the tragedy of finding out the way that you love someone just isn’t enough.

Y'all ever think about the way video game bosses are designed to lose? How the bombastic soundtracks, the impressive displays of villainy, the teeth-rattling power of their attacks, are at once engineered not just to sell you on how unfathomably strong and vile they are, but also to make the player's inevitable victory all the sweeter?

Viewed this way, a boss battle is more like a choreographed dance - they call, you respond and counter-call. The trick is to learn the steps - once you know where to move, when to strike, when to defend and how to best allocate your resources, victory is not just achievable but actually almost impossible to avoid. You cannot help but recite the winning plays, over and again, because that is what the dance demands of you both - and is there not a savage sort of beauty in such a thing?

Is it any wonder then that we look back on these bosses so fondly, almost as if they were old friends? We danced together once, and oh what fun we had while doing it!

Making my own post but I was inspired by another, BUT: happy pride to aromantics and asexuals who have a complicated relationship with one of the above, who don't know exactly where you fall on that spectrum, who are FUNCTIONALLY aro/ace for whatever reason but aren't sure if it's just outside influence causing it or a way you were born, etc etc. Happy pride to complicated identities, complex relationships with sex, romance, and gender, and those for whom none of the current labels feel exactly "right." Happy pride to people with labels that seemingly conflict with each other.

All that these labels are are humans trying to put abstract feelings into words, and sometimes there just isn't a word yet for exactly what you feel, or the words that exist supposedly can't be used together the way that you do it. Sometimes there is a feeling that words just fail for. That doesn't make those feelings less real, or make you totally alone-- there are so many people in this world that certainly, at least one other HAS to've felt the way that you do.

I guess I will interpret the results like following: It was a hard fought battle between the Moment of Clarity and the Apotheosis and while MoC tried to wear Apotheosis out to at the very least get a tie out of it, it was ultimately not enough. So MoC cracked first and had to give in.

What is moment of clarity? I'm kinda curious about it (mostly here for the narrator, but I'm curious about everyone here)

It's one of the possible follow up chapters of the Nightmare Princess in Slay the Princess. You get her in the game by basically either trying to run away from the Nightmare in chapter 2 or by willing staying with her in the basement, refusing to let her out.
