Sorry I haven't posted literally anything. I've been busy with school and I have midterms all this week. But, I will be back and working on chapter 4 once my exams are over. Should be posted after Christmas. For now I'll work on a christmas one shot for Remus to act as a small present and apology for being so sporadic.

That One Love (Remus Lupin x reader)
The first day had begun, and just like every other student in the school, Y/N had decided food would be a good decision. (Not much really happens in this chapter, sorry!)
Chapter 3: Breakfast
The sun was hiding it seemed, dimmed by the clouds in the sky as Y/N woke on her first day of classes. It was as if the heavens knew how much she dreaded the first day. She didn’t hate it, of course, that hate was saved for days before holidays when teachers would assign them work for the break. It was evil and should be illegal, but of course, they were wizards, and wizards one thing is that if it doesn’t mess with free will or life, it’s allowed. Still, Y/N and James planned to take it to the Wizengamot one day in the future, they just had to get the correct amount of evidence and argument against it before taking it to the Minister.
“Y/N, get up, Breakfast is going to start soon!” Jane exclaimed, seeing her friend still laying in her bed, the other being a very big morning person, something Y/N couldn’t understand when one of their first classes was History of Magic, followed by Charms as if it was anything to look forward to.
“Jane, shush, too early.” She said, sitting up in her bed now and wiping the sleep from her eyes, a yawn escaping before she was able to pull back her bed’s curtains, slowly moving from the plush covers and letting her feet hit the hardwood flooring.
“Oh hush yourself, I don’t want to be late on the first day.” Her friend said, moving to get her bag together, something Y/N had been able to do before falling asleep the night before.
“Right, you just want to see if Billie sent something with the morning post don’t you?” She teased, knowing Jane never cared much for breakfast or arriving on time, always stopping to talk to a ghost or portrait of some kind.
Jane’s face turned a shade of pink, shaking her head as she picked up her bag and went to the dorm’s door, “Just hurry up, I’m going to the common room.” Was all she said before leaving, Y/N laughed to herself from her friend’s flustered state, moving to go get ready in the bathroom and put her uniform on.
Around fifteen minutes later the Potter girl finally descended the dormitory stairs, her bag hanging on her shoulder and swinging some as she walked, meeting the eyes of Jane as she talked to what looked to be a second year asking about end-of-the-year exams. Choosing to avoid that conversation Y/N went ahead and exited the common room, instead making her way down the staircase to go to breakfast, the food sure to be there by the time she arrived, what with the shifting staircases and everything.
She had been walking alone in peace for what seemed to be five minutes, now stopping to wait for the stairs she needed as a voice called from behind her.
“Good morning, Y/N, sleep well?” Remus asked, now beside her as he also had to wait for the stairs.
“Of course, I don’t think I ever sleep better than I do at Hogwarts.” She responded, looking up to meet his gaze, “Did you?”
Remus laughed at her words, nodding his head, “Right, yes I slept alright.” He said, turning his gaze back to the staircases, looking to see where the one they needed was, then at his watch to see how much longer it was going to be before it shifted.
“You know the timing of the stairs?” Y/N asked, never having thought to do that before, though it would help with getting to some classes easier.
“Yes, useful for pranks that need us to use them,” Remus informed, remembering how they almost got caught their third year because the staircase they needed was on the other side of the room and had another two minutes before it would shift as a teacher was approaching.
“Right, makes sense seeing as you are normally first to Transfiguration.” She nodded, watching now as the stairs moved to connect them to where they needed, the duo now walking once it stopped.
A minute of silence passed between them before Remus spoke up once again. “So, what class do you have first?”
Y/N looked at him, before pulling out her list, “History of Magic, the worst class to have so early.” She informed, showing him the list of classes she had for the day.
“Oh, yeah, try not to fall asleep in it though, Sirius almost failed last year because he couldn’t keep his eyes open.” He advised, patting Y/N’s shoulder in a sympathetic way before he focused back on the path ahead.
“Well it would be better if our professor wasn’t actually a million years old, then the lessons might be better than just notes and tests.” She said, knowing how Binns had no knowledge about what actually kept the students engaged in classes and history.
“Now, now, he’s only around a thousand years old.” Remus corrected, acting as if that was any better, laughing at the very tired expression his statement earned from Y/N. “Yeah, okay that’s still bad.” He conceded.
“I know.” She said, walking ahead of him before turning, now facing him once more as she walked through the halls with a practiced step, silently praying in her head that she doesn’t trip over her face. “What class do you have first, Mr. Know-it-all?”
“Okay, one, I’m not a know-it-all, I’m realistic.” He started, trying to defend himself, “Two, I have Transfig first with the other guys.” Remus then let his gaze wander behind her, trying to make sure the girl wouldn’t knock into anyone as they walked to the Great Hall.
“Right, well, maybe with that class first McGonagall won’t have to worry about you guys doing anything in her class.” Y/N reasoned, knowing how much her brother and Sirius goofed off during that class, but since they have it first thing then they might be tired enough to not do anything other than try and not pass out from boredom.
Remus just shook his head, “The day those two don’t make McGonagall consider retiring is the day she finally does.” He said his experience with the boys telling him all he needed to know about their love of annoying the head of their house and the assistant headmistress.
“That’ll be the day.” Y/N agreed, turning to face forward so she didn’t walk into the door of the Great Hall now that they had finally arrived. “Well, it was nice talking to you, I am going to go see if Ren is here yet, have a nice day, Remus.” She stepped into the great dining hall, waving bye to the boy as she looked over at where Hufflepuff stayed, spotting her redhaired friend talking to a boy in Ravenclaw, couldn’t have been older than a third year from how amazed he still looked by the school and its endless wonders. The girl had learned that after a student’s fourth year, they get disenchanted by the school.
Y/N made her way over to her friend and the boy, who seemed to notice her presence first as he had gestured up to her as she approached, Ren turning and smiling at the arrival of one of her friends.
“Hey, how was your night?” The girl asked, pulling Y/N to sit down with her, before looking at the boy again, “Oh, right, this is Jason by the way.” Ren introduced, Jason, waving at Y/N, who offered a polite smile in return.
“Nice to meet you, Jason, I’m Y/N.” She said, the boy just nodding. The Gryffindor then turned back to her friend, “It was boring if you don’t count Jane trying to convince me that Remus has a crush on me.” Y/N threw in that tidbit of information as if it was just another occurrence, Ren’s attention being fully on her now as the words left the girl’s mouth.
“I’m sorry, did you just say that Remus has a crush on you,” She asked, trying to confirm what she had heard, poor Jason just being confused as to why Y/N would be close to one of the infamous Marauders.
“I just said that he didn’t!” Y/N exclaimed, groaning as she put her head in her hands, wanting to just disappear now.
“Then why was Jane trying to convince yo-” Ren was cut off by another groan from the girl beside her.
“Because Jane is crazy!” She exclaimed, her voice muffled by her hands as she looked over them and at Ren.
“I’m sorry,” Jason said, cutting in between them for a second, “How does she know the Marauders?” He asked, gesturing to Y/N, not having any backstory to the girl other than she knew Ren and they both know some girl named Jane.
“She’s James’ younger sister.” The topic said, sitting down on the opposite side of Ren now, looking at the boy, “I’m Jane by the way.” Jane held her hand out for Jason to shake.
“Nice to meet you.” Jason replied, shaking her hand before looking back at Y/N, “You’re THE James Potter’s sister?” He asked, apparently trying to confirm the thing Jane had just told him, as if anyone else tried to claim to be James’ sister.
“One and only.” She replied, taking her hands away from her face. “Surprised not everyone knows yet.” Y/N thought aloud to herself more than anything.
“Well, everyone knows he has a sister, but I guess only your year would know that it’s you because of your name.” Jason explained, the three girls nodding in agreement to the information, after all, full names are only ever truly said during the sorting ceremony, beyond that they are only known when the person introduces themselves with the name.
After the introductions were over, the three girls spent time talking about all the classes they were taking while Jason just listened, chiming in every now and then to ask about a class he was interested in taking and asking about how difficult it was and such. Then, it was finally time for classes to start, and the new year to truly begin.

That One Love (Remus x reader)
This will be chapter 2, focusing on Y/N's first night back, covering the feast and the dorm. I have added some original characters since I didn't feel like using Marlene and Mary, I love them, but I don't have enough comfort to write and do them justice so instead I just added two other girls instead, completely my own.
Chapter 2: New Year, Same School
Y/N was the first to leave the carriage once they got to the school’s door, wanting to be away from her brother’s friends as quick as possible. It wasn’t as if she wasn’t friends with them, or that she didn’t like them, rather she was just tired of being around them for the entire journey, especially with Sirius only sulking beside her the entire time. Walking off, she went to go find her friends, a girl with short dark hair named Jane and another girl with long red hair named Ren. Jane was Y/N’s roommate in the dorms, while Ren belonged to Hufflepuff, they met her when Y/N and Jane had went to the kitchens past curfew and found the girl there discussing what should be in the dinner next with the house elves.
Luckily, it didn’t take long for Ren to instead find her, Jane simply following behind as the redhead jumped on their friend’s back nearly taking them both down before Y/N was able to balance herself.
“How was your summer?” Jane asked, seeing the play in front of her.
“Uneventful unless you count my brother’s friend showing up halfway through and having to deal with those two idiots.” Y/N replied, recalling how Sirius had shown up halfway through their summer holiday at her home, James was quick to convince their parents to let him stay the rest of the summer, which was honestly better than having to put up with his pining after Lily.
“Well, Jane was finally able to ask out that muggle girl she’s been talking to for the past year.” Ren informed, finally getting off of her friend’s back as they were finally ushered inside. At the mention of the girl Jane’s face turned a pale shade of pink, Y/N letting a small laugh out from the sight.
“Got that boost of courage us Gryffindors are so well known for huh?” She teased, bumping against Jane’s shoulder, causing her to just let out a small huff.
“Shut up, you aren’t having to keep a world-ending secret from your girlfriend!” She complained, now looking around the Great Hall as they entered.
“Alright, well, I gotta get off to my table, I’ll see you two in charms tomorrow right?” Ren interrupted before either could say more, having to sit with the Hufflepuffs for this night. The two just nodded, waving to their friend before sitting at the table designated for them, looking at the table to see if there were any new professors.
“I heard that Slughorn might retire this year.” Jane whispered to her friend, talking about the old potions teacher.
“Hah, I doubt it, only way he’ll retire is if Dumbledore made him.” Y/N responded, looking at the mentioned teacher, seeing him talk to Flitwick about something.
Her friend was about to respond before the doors finally opened, McGonagall leading the first years to the small podium, the hat sitting on it’s normal stool waiting to sort the kids into what would be their ‘families’ for the next seven years they attended the school. There were a handful of new kids this year, most being sorted into Hufflepuff it seemed, the rest being divided almost equally between Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, and Slytherin. From the looks not many pureblood families had kids joining the school this year, either that or they sent their kids off to Durmstrang instead of Hogwarts for a ‘better teaching experience’ or whatever the meatheads over there got to do.
After Dumbledore got done with his long speech about the school year, food finally appeared in front of the students, the feast beginning as voices rose into the air, older students welcoming the new students while others simply caught up with their friends they hadn’t seen on the train or carriage ride.
“So, what classes do we not have together?” Y/N asked, wanting to figure out what classes she had with Jane, having to check Ren’s schedule the next day. Only reason they knew they had charms together was because it was a class they had to do every year and always had with Hufflepuff, that and Ren and Jane shared a car on the train and were able to find out the classes they shared meaning Y/N only had to figure out her and Jane’s chosen classes and not the core ones which they would have together regardless.
“Well, I dropped Ancient Runes this year and replaced it with Divination again because the class is easier.” Jane said, looking at her list of classes, Y/N nodding at the logic, she would’ve if she had more belief in the class but since she doesn’t she chose to stick with Ancient Runes instead.
“Right, and I took Muggle Studies instead of Arithmancy this year.” She replied, knowing how she had barely passed the class last year, choosing to instead take one she might find more interesting, and could cheat with since Ren happened to be a muggleborn.
“Cheater.”
“Oh hush it.”
“So, are those the only classes we have apart?” Jane asked, moving back to the topic at hand, looking between her and Y/N’s class lists.
“Seems like it, lucky cause then it means we only have to find new partners for those two classes,” She answered, knowing how neither really wanted to find new people to talk to, having made it this far in their time at school staying partners in classes, knowing how the other worked best helped them achieve better scoring.
“Well, I think you and Ren would have Runes together.” Jane tried to give that positive, before seeing who she had the class with, “oh, never mind, you have it with Ravenclaw this year.” She corrected.
“At least it’s not Slytherin.” Y/N said, finding that small win within the situation,
“Yeah, but we have Care of Magical Creatures with them.” Her friend mentioned, pointing to the class on her list.
“So fun,” She said in a mocking tone, putting her list away and looking at the food and people around the table, spotting her brother and his friends seemingly planning something, catching the eyes of Remus as he had looked down the table seemingly spaced out. He offered her a soft smile which she returned, before Jane mentioned something and gained Y/N’s attention once more
Once the feast was over the students had to clear the Great Hall, the pitched voices of the head boy and girls of each house loud in the hall as they had to direct the first years on where to go, Y/N and Jane walking past them and up the stairs, catching the sight of Ren leaving down to where Hufflepuffs had their dormitory right before they reached the main staircase.
Walking up the stairs the girls were able to enjoy some silence as they watched the stairs move and the portraits talk amongst themselves, before her brother and his friends were suddenly behind them.
“Hey, what’re you two doing?” James asked, noticing Y/N and Jane in front of him.
“Avoiding you.” His sister said bluntly, already tired of his face.
“You wound me, dear sister.” He replied, holding his hand over his heart and making a face of mock pain, Y/N just shaking her head as Jane laughed at the boy’s antics.
“We’re heading to the common room like everyone else,” Her friend offered as an actual answer, James nodding at that.
“Right, have to follow the herd huh?” He said, acting as if he wasn’t going to the same place they were.
“Stop trying to seem cool, Lily isn’t around.” Y/N replied, tired of his cool guy act, knowing he only did it to try and impress Lily, even when it has only failed. James went to reply but was cut off by the stairs moving, connecting the one they were on to the one they had to get to, Y/N and Jane now walking away from the group and continuing on the path they had memorized their first year, the sound of steps above and below them cutting through the silence.
“So, when did Remus grow a foot taller?” Jane asked, looking at her friend for an answer as if she knew why the boy would be any taller.
“I don’t know, probably over summer.” She had answered, Jane remembering she did in fact not have the answer.
“Right, you know he was looking at you the entire time we talked to your brother?” Her friend mentioned.
“How do you know, were you looking at him the entire time?” Was the response, causing Jane to shove her friend forward in a teasing manner.
“As if, I only have eyes for Billie, thank you very much.” She defended, crossing her arms as she walked.
“That’s the muggle girl’s name!” Y/N exclaimed, having tried to remember it in the back of her head.
“Please stop calling her that, its very undermining.” Jane said, trying to defend her new girlfriend’s honor.
“I wouldn’t if I could’ve remembered her name.” She replied, holding her hands up in defense, “don’t worry, I’ll remember it from now on.” Y/N then held out her hand for her friend to take as if making a business deal in the form of a promise.
Jane laughed at the gesture, shaking her hand before continuing up the stairs, arriving at the portrait of The Fat Lady, who was currently trying to serenade the students in front of her, seemingly none of them knew the password, Y/N almost went up to say it so her ears wouldn’t bleed before a voice came from behind her.
“Caput Draconis!” The voice said, belonging to Remus, the other marauders behind him, James and Sirius seemingly busy with some prank they were now planning. The portrait swung open rather reluctantly, the students passing through the opening as the Fat Lady muttered something about how ‘no one could understand great music.’
“Thanks for saving our ears.” Y/N joked, walking through the portrait, Jane having gone in front as Remus now took the spot beside the girl.
“My pleasure, Godric knows how long she would’ve kept going.” He replied, laughing to himself and waving to the two as he walked to the boys dorms, Y/N and Jane going up the staircase to their own.
“Oh, he is so into you!” Jane exclaimed once the two girls got to their room, their stuff already there as Y/N set to get her stuff ready for classes to begin the next day. She just laughed at her friend’s claim, brushing it off as nothing more than a joke.
“Yeah, right. James Potter’s annoying little sister?” She said, taking out her potions book and looking through it as it would help her better be prepared for what they might cover this year.
“Y/N, how often has Remus talked to you before now?” Her friend asked, bringing to light a very valid question.
“I don’t know, we’ll talk if paired up for classes but we have our own friend groups so not much. Besides, I’m pretty sure James told them to not even try with me in our first year.” She replied, knowing how her brother has asked her not to date his friends before, not because he didn’t trust them, just because he found the prospect of his friend dating his little sister too weird.
“Oh, you always ruin the fun.” Jane complained, laying down on her bed, Y/N tossing one of the school pajama sets at her.
“For sure, now go change before sleeping, don’t need to sleep in the uniform.” She instructed, pointing at the bathroom door. Jane groaned in response before heading to the bathroom, emerging a few minutes later with her pajamas on, before getting in her bed.
“Well, one of us will get proven right about Remus’ feelings, and it will be me.” Was all Jane said before closing the privacy curtains around her bad, going to sleep for the night.
Y/N shook her head at the prospect presented to her by her closest friend, that being that her brother’s closest friend, well one of, had a crush on her. Maybe Remus was just being nicer this year since their adventure at Hogwarts together was coming to a close, the next year being the Marauders’ last at the school before leaving. That, at least, is what she convinced herself of before falling asleep for the night, awaiting the sun to rise in the morning.

That One Love (Remus x reader)
Can also be found on ao3 and wattpad with the same title
Desc: Y/N Potter was now in her fifth year, the Marauders now in their sixth, it was meant to be a calm year, what with the usual antics of James being in love with Lily and the boys playing pranks on the Slytherins as a whole. Lately however, Y/N has started to pay a little more attention to Remus, seeing as he had started to talk to her more this year, leaving to let her wonder if he was always this nice and attractive.
(A/N: A remake from a fic I wrote back on Wattpad when I was 11/12, it's an xreader for Remus cause I was unhealthily in love with him. Anyways enjoy!)
Chapter 1: The Express
Y/N sat in the empty train car, looking around for her brother and his friends. As usual, they were nowhere to be found, well, Y/N didn't really want to find them per se, she just didn't want them to be getting into trouble already when they hadn't even left the station yet. Once it was clear the boys were nowhere near her cart, she decided to close her door, choosing to invite the calmness instead of the chaos lurking somewhere in the train, feeling the tracks shift under her, knowing that they were now departing for Hogwarts as the whistle blew and the station began to pass from her window.
"Oi! Let us in, won't you?" A voice sounded from behind the compartment door, belonging to a long dark-haired boy, her brother's best friend, Sirius Black, three others stood behind him in the small walkway. Y/N groaned, having just settled with the silence before moving, opening the door, and allowing the boys in, sitting next to the one with round-rimmed glasses and unnaturally unruly hair, also known as her older brother James.
"What took you guys so long? I started hoping you had gotten left on the platform." She said, looking to her brother for an answer. It wasn't like she was impossible to find, in fact, they had all sat in that same compartment the entire time they had attended Hogwarts, Y/N only joining them one year after when she herself started attending Hogwarts.
"Sorry, your brother there had to go ogle Lily before the train left," The boy opposite her said, Remus, the only marauder she could even stand.
"Did you know she got her hair cut over the summer? It looks amazing." James said, now lost in his own thoughts of the poor red-haired girl that he had been in love with longer than Y/N had taken to get through her reading list. At the sound of his dreamy sigh, the rest of the car collectively groaned, having to put up with it the entire time.
"How is it that you are so in love with her when she barely gives you the time of day, and when she does it's with a scowl on her face," Y/N asked, her brother and his feelings remaining an enigma to her.
'Well, my dear sister, you don't know what it feels like to be in love." James pointed out, thinking that his argument had any ground.
"That doesn't matter even in the slightest, at least I can tell when someone doesn't like me." She contradicted, a small argument now beginning between the two siblings, the other inhabitants of the car just watching, Sirius having taken out his own little bag of chips and eating, enjoying the small show in front of him. After what seemed to be half the ride, the two settled down, Peter having been put between them so they wouldn't attack one another. Silence had settled amongst the car, a knock on the door drawing everyone's attention.
"Anything from the trolley?" The old witch pushing a trolley full of sweets asked, Sirius and James, being the first to stand and ask for something, Remus moving to also get something, his eyes meeting Y/N's as he did.
"You want anything?" He asked, his voice quiet so no one would hear them, knowing that he only had money to pay for her as well, Peter would have thrown a fit if he knew that his best friend paid for a girl he barely knew over the person he's known the entire time.
"Just some candy floss if you don't mind, I'll pay you back once we get off at Hogwarts." She replied, her money being up with the rest of her luggage, knowing it would be a pain to get now that everyone had put their own bags up there as well. Remus nodded at her request, grabbing a few pieces of chocolate for himself and the candy floss for her, sitting down and handing it over, earning a small smile of thanks from the girl as the other two boys settled in their seats for the rest of the ride now.
The rest of the ride was rather uneventful, Y/N sat with her head against the window as she listened to the boys plan their first prank back at Hogwarts, taking a bite of her candy floss every now and then, even offering some to Peter when she noticed he hadn't gotten anything from the trolley. Even if she couldn't stand him, she wasn't going to let him feel even more left out of the group.
Finally, after nearly three hours the train pulled into the Hogwarts station, coming to a slow stop as they all got out of the car, grabbed their bags, and heading out onto the platform.
"Alright, first years follow me! The rest of you off to the carriages!" Y/N heard the groundskeeper call, seeing the eager newcomers follow him off to the boats, Y/N surely not missing how cold the water felt during her first year, her partner having hit her with some as they moved. Moving from the platform she made her way up to the carriages, getting on an empty room and setting her beg beside her, hoping for some solitude before hearing a person sit next to her, looking over she saw Sirius, Remus and Peter following him to the carriage.
"Where's my oaf of a brother?" She asked, seeing as James wasn't with them. Sirius just groaned in response while Peter pointed off to a different carriage, James had chosen to sit with Lily, not by her own choice, instead of his friends. "Wow, the betrayal." Y/N joked, looking at the very distraught boy beside her.
"We should lock him out of the dorm tonight," Sirius suggested, looking at his other two friends, his body shifting against Y/N before correcting himself, the carriage now moving towards the castle.
"Right, and have him mope outside of it the entire night, as if," Remus replied, shooting the idea down almost as soon as it left Sirius' mouth.
"Also he could just use alohomora." Y/N mentioned, Sirius suddenly remembering that the spell exists.
"Right, that too." Remus agreed, his head nodding at the girl's mention.
"Well, still, he shouldn't just get away with leaving us behind." Sirius exclaimed, not wanting James' betrayal to go down without retaliation.
"He'll just do it again next year." Peter chimed in, the other two murmuring their agreements.
"Great help you lot are." Sirius groaned, his arms crossing over his chest as he now sulked over the loss of his best friend.
The rest of the carriage ride was silent, the occasional word from Peter or Remus, Y/N choosing to just watch the creatures in the forest as they passed, the castle looming overhead as they continued, the new school year and any secrets that might be revealed from it causing an almost uneasy feeling amongst the returning students.
