I was wondering if there’s anything about The Familliar in here and this gem blessed my eyes. 🤩

I'm sitting on a backlog of unposted artwork since last year, and only have recently scraped together some free time to catch up with tidbits in my to-do list! It's out of order, but I'm posting the artwork I provided @illumicrate as a bonus print for their edition of The Familiar by @lbardugo -- because it's very leafy, and I've been recently enjoying planting some new annuals for my neighborhood pollinators! A scene from early in the book with Luzia is reviving a withered grape vine as a demonstration with her singing. (captured in foil!) This was such a fun set of character designs, for two very fun characters. Luzia and Santángel are like a pair of spicy cats meeting for the first time before eventually seeking each other's warmth for naptime. Santángel especially, I wanted to capture in his expression the stirring curiosity pushing out through his exhaustive apathy. More art dumps to come!

It took me some time but I finished it!

I really appreciate @twoandahalfstudios taking their time to release new content. Whether it’s a game content or webtoon chapter.

In a current state of the world and culture I feel rushed into consuming constantly. Binging tv series. Spending 300h in this new complex game before they release new content. Reading 800 pages book as soon as it’s released. All that to not miss the hype train or enjoy a fandom before it’s dead.

With this franchise I can spend some time drawing or discussing stuff. I can take my time re-reading my favourite scenes from the game or the comic. I feel like I can COMMIT to fully enjoy the piece, its world and characters.

I don’t have to be scared to miss an update or see 2137 spoilers on every social media platform.

The joy I experience with the A Date With Death is indescribable.
