Didn't see a lot of artist ask games, wanted to make a silly one.

I've had this one sketch saved on my ipad for ages, and tonight for some reasons I needed comfort but didn't want to start anything new... this is why I love forgetting about sketches: I can come m back and finish them later. Here are my beloved Yennefer and Tissaia together in an WhatIf? Universe where the Thanned ball actually finished how I want it to finish... with the two of them together, not necessarily romantically, but still having each other's back (and being romantic about it, yeah, no ok definitely , bye Geralt byeee)

Also, since I never played the games but I'm a huge fan of the books (and Season 1 of the Netflix show) I love to draw Tissaia as MyAnna Buring (from the show) but Yen more as I imagine her from the books

Sweet and loving Yennaia scenes will never not be comfy for me to draw :')

A couple of days ago I watched Witchville, a very low-budget fantasy movie where my beloved MyAnna stars as the witch Jozefa.

@brazenedminstrel asked me to sketch her aaand this is the result.

Where Yennefer refuses to leave Tissaia's side after Sodden, watching over the rectoress while she recovers from the dimeritium poisoning. Too bad in s2 there were literally zero consequences for what happened to Tissaia in the last ep of s1... story-wise the new season is quite weak. But still, new content right...?

This is a piece I'm particularly attached to. I've started it before s2 came out, while I was reading the awesome fic "Warm Blood" by @brazenedminstrel and @greypaws6896 . Thank you so much for the inspiration and for the awesome piece of fiction you blessed us all with !

"What changed you?"

"Who. Yennefer of Vengerberg"

This one started out as a fast sketch at work, like almost all of my drawings recently, then I wanted to color it, then the amazing @ortiies jumped in and helped me with her wisdom (thank you so much lady, you improved it 200%) and then after meddling with it for a couple more hours I decided it was done.

Yennefer is one of the most amazing characters I have ever saw or read, and I really just wanted to portray her in full force, as a personal tribute really.

Yennefer is my absolute favorite character in The Witcher universe. From the moment she was born she had reasons to hate herself, until she was blessed with a change, and opportunities to rise above everyone else. She did it, she took them all and became one of the most powerful mages in the continent. Until that wasn't enough and her own achievements made her miserable. She then rejected all that, and truly rose above all, only to find out what she was missing was something she could never get: a child. A legacy, something to love and to mentor, to watch grow, to hold dear, to always defend. I'm only now realizing that I am Yennefer and that... the student, the child; that is my younger, most vulnerable self, and they damn deserves some love and attention. They deserve the love and attention of someone strong, fierce and with a deep connection with the world. Yennefer. My adult, mature self, that will maybe stop sabotaging the young one. And finally love them instead.

I just had to share this thought on the night s2 is coming out. Not because the tv series means that much considering the wideness of the Witcher Universe. Just because SO MANY things are changing in my life (again) and this time I want to be sure to really include the "love, acceptance, patience for myself" . Watching the tv series, falling in love with Yen and Tissaia, drawing them is a way of loving myself, loving drawing and loving taking time for indulging myself. So yeah. Can't wait for s2.

I have been engulfed with work and personal life, so I didn't have as much time as I wanted to color more illustrations :'( SO here is a bunch of Yennaia art I will probably never bring any further than this rough state.

When s2 comes out (the day after tomorrow OK, Im imploding) I will hopefully draw more Witcher themed illustrations featuring someone else other than Yen and Tissaia (hopefully.) (maybe) (improbable but I do have a Yen and Ciri sketch in progress so perhaps...?)

Lil background on the sketches: the first one was literally my first yennaia drawing. Completely random. In the mists of emotions, that's the first drawing I kinda "refined" of these two.

The second was a post-sodden moment where an ill Tissaia tells Yen she is dying, but Yen just doesn't listen, and shoves all of her emotions deep down herself. I have to thank the fic you're out of touch (I'm out of time) by wiseturtlebear, for inspiring me!

The third one is a moment that came to my mind completely randomly, thinking "what if Yen is powerful with her magic but sloppy with her execution, so Tissaia still corrects her posture and movements every now and then?" Tissaia is still her teacher and mentor after all :))

EDIT: I recolored it because yesterday night I was too high and I colored it in a bizarre way, I didn't like it. Pick the version you prefer, I 100/10 prefer the one in the sunrise (sunrise before Sodden)

I completely forgot I only had posted this one on ig. The moment Tissaia and Yennefer exchange at Sodden Hill was definitely my favorite of the whole series when first watching it. That was what pushed me to explore more of the characters and ultimately brought me to read all the books in the past 2 months. And I remember sketching this awing Tissaia right after having watched the end of the series. I was very bored doing work from home and I drew her in the infinite canvas on Mischief, a digital sketching software that doesn't exist anymore. I feel like I have an extinct animal in my pc?

Fast forward to a month later and I was in paris on my iPad and I said WAIT A SECOND I CAN COLOR THIS OLD SKETCH. and I did.

Took way too long and my workflow is a mess but I DID IT

Which yennaia fanfics do you like most? I’m very curious

OH man, this is an hard question, cause I've read so many and there are just so many that really hooked me up. One of my favorite is without doubt "you're out of touch (I'm out of time)" by wiseturtlebear . It may sound sadistic but I love the raw sadness in the beginning, when Tissais is absolutely sure she WILL die because of the Dimeritium poisoning. Also I loved the image of Yen and Tis riding together on one horse :') no more description to avoid spoilers.

Then I loved SO MUCH "Warm Blood" by brazenedMinstrel, Greypaws (eheh) cause I loved the twist of the Dimeritium blade used instead of powder, and I love that the story actually goes on after overcoming the inciting incident (Tissaia's injuries after Sodden) Plus, this one fic develops so much other characters, like Triss, Sabrina and Coral... And the authors even composed some music to go with the fic itself!! So reading it is a small voyage on its own. Loved it.

One of the first one I read was "Stone in your water" by troiing and I remember stopping reading it because it wasn't updated.. But I just checked and there are indeed new chapters, SO YEAH I will def resume my reading ahah. I love this fic because (again) of the horrible things Yen and Tiss have to go through right after Sodden: Tissaia her dimeritium poisoning (poor baby) and Yen the losing of her eyesight, which she lost in order to save Tissaia from her own fire ! I love it when love/hate characters must sacrifice something of themselves in order to get closer to the other. The charm and beauty of suffering in fictions *chef kiss

Last but not least, I loved "The Sea That Calls All Things Unto Her Calls Me" by ClydeThistles . I loved the images the author paint with their paragraphs: the waves crashing on the shore around Aretuza, the warmth of the fire when Yen and Tis are drying themselves, the cold wind in Tor Lara... It's just super good and creates great images in my head ahah Again, I haven't read all of it :( I have to catch up with the last chapter. Special thanks to that one fic I don't remember the title of where Tissaia fights Fringilla in Tor Lara using a STAFF (Tissaia with a staff, yes pls) PLS if you have any suggestion for other fics, I'd be happy to read them !

Ahh thank you so much, when I draw I always try to put intentions and emotions first. Making the drawing actually "look pretty" is definitely not my main concern... and yeah, I love Yennaia SO much I only want to draw them in graceful and charming situations ahah

I'm at it again. Chippin away at this wip, and a thought came to my mind: so many amazing fanfics have been written thinking that Tissaia will suffer the consequences of Dimeritium poisoning. What if they never show that part in s2? What if they just breeze over the established "rule of the Witcher universe" that dimeritium is actual poison for mages? My love for good storytelling just wishes they will show those consequences in S2 .

So yesterday night I finished up this old sketch of yet again my favorite fictional sorceresses. The Witcher s2 is approaching fast and I have half a mind to publish all of my Yennaia sketches from now til the December 17th.
