Genova - a city of contrasts. Things I liked in Genova: + huge diversity of everything, from foods & goods to people and places; + quite an authentic, interesting and old history; + lots of beautiful architecture and tourist attractions (took us three days to see everything); + an access to sea (more details in the following post) + quite hospitable and welcoming people, although they're almost the same in all Italian parts. Milano. I think, the word that describes it in the best way is "colossal". You can feel the enormousness everywhere: at the railway station, in parks, in downtown, in the castle. Our vacation trip around Italy started in Bergamo. Never had I experienced such magnificence before as in this city. This place entrances you with exquisite sights of late Middle Age buildings, antique yet untouched by generations as if to honor this antiquity, which instantly bribes you with this mind-blowing spirit of Renaissance. A city where narrow serpentine streets callously bribe you with ingeniousity and simplicity that their architects made them to be. A city where asymmetric harmony is elevated to perfectionism, which can be seen in the way that Italian ancestors incorporated their habitats into mother nature. A city which consumes you with warmth, both atmospheric and actual, absorbs you with vibrance and diversity, lures with a combination of old style and modernity, and doesn't let you go. A city that makes you fall in love with it.
