FRIENDS ACROSS THE RIVER is a brand new Discord server with many custom roles, current news from several Arcane Twitter accounts and a safe space for everyone who would like to discuss their theories, headcanons, some of the more common ships, and anything else.

We are still small but welcome all. Grab a drink and sit down with us. Stream, chat, meet new people, share your art and fics or those by your favourite artists and writers.

WHO IS WELCOMED: * Everyone over 18 years of age - we do not accept minors for mutual safety. Please, if you're under 18 years old, do not join the server. If you do and it's found out, you'll be banned without a warning - no exceptions. The server might feature NSFW content (albeit it's protected by a role) and we don't want anyone younger than 18 to see it or interact with it.

WHO IS NOT WELCOMED: * Minors - no exceptions * Bigots and homophobes

Please note that certain ships are excluded from the server for everyone's safety. This doesn't mean that ship-shaming is allowed. No intolerance is welcomed but respect the wishes of the mod team and do not post or talk about the ships in question.

Also note that you have to verify that you've read the rules before you enter the server. If you're new to Discord, contact the mod team, which is available in the side bar of the server members list, and we will help you.

Been gone a while...

Author's reply: Hello. Yes, sorry about that. Due to personal health issues, financial issues, and time management, askvanco is more or less discontinued or on a hiatus. I do produce a lot of Arcane art on my main blog as well as manage two Arcane servers you're free to join but I unfortunately lack the time to produce a weekly (or so) free comic currently.

Hey Vander - are you mad at all or was this something you expected? Are you going to set any boundries after this? Maybe insist of accompanying Silco from now on?

Our first Choose your Adventure piece is here! This one is combined with an ask to start you off, the future ones will be independent.

Based on your wishes, we will continue with both, asks and the 'choose your adventure' concept. The 'choose your adventure' line will cover a larger story in a form of a comic which I will publish bi-weekly (to give you time to vote in the progress polls), paired with simple tasks, which will be published irregularly but at least once a week.

As an accompanying piece, I'm currently working on a short fiction that will cover the events that led to the reconciliation.

Hello! I'm very sorry for the rather long pause, what has it been? Two months? I would love to come back to this but I wonder, how would you feel about turning this into a 'chose your adventure' sort of thing? There are other Ask Blogs and I enjoy presenting a story rather than strips. We have a plot nicely started, I was thinking, with the integration of polls, we could do this thing, where I give you a piece of plot once a week and include a poll in which you can vote what should be done next, effectively choosing how the plot progresses - bit like writing a fic together but in a comic form :)

It would mean I'd upload less often, instead of the previous daily uploads, it would be once a week, let's say every Sunday, and you'd get a bit better quality content, like in the last part of the comic, no copy pasting. And on the side, as a bonus, I'd go back in the inbox and slowly reply to the already posted asks.

The poll will be open for one week, thank you for your participation.

Hey Singed, you’ve treated Silco as a patient… before… right? Are there any tricks to get him to actually rest and recover?

This one is for Dr. SINGED - There must have been at least 10 to 15 years between Silco and Vander's initial "breakup" and them getting back together, all of which you Silco were in close proximity. Was there ever any romance between you two? It would be rather hard to avoid, methinks.

We apologize for the irregularity with which posts are made recently. The current comic-style format without reusing material is more laborious and therefore requires more time. Once things calm down in the plot, we should resume to a more regular schedule.
