Can someone please give me tips on how to have better media literacy because I’m extremely childish but want to enjoy stories on a deeper level/understand a creator’s storytelling better

Rant / ramble / reasoning under the cut cause I yap a bunch

I am a victim of being a grown ass person who cries about Bluey episodes and watching cartoons; however I WANT to enjoy shows like Hannibal without being confused every other episode. I also want to be able to better pick up the context/story of the media I enjoy and realize what things are meant to be ‘bad’ (I.e. the incestuous couple at the pig farm in RDR2). It’s obvious why an action or relationship is not good, but the ‘why’ part isn’t always clear to me and I know it’s because my media literacy is equivalent to that of a child.
