Tim buys Danny and his sister each a sandwich, directs him to kiss him somewhere not on the lips in case Jasmine Fenton’s watching from across the street and they need to keep up pretenses. He presses his lips to his forehead, and the point of contact is warm, in comparison to the cool, clammy air around them. It’s just a second, barely that, and it still has Tim melting into it.

Maybe he needs more platonic touch.

Both the characterizations and the storylines are so beautifully crafted (and the art too, but that's obvious lol). Thank you for putting so much time and care into what you're doing for free. Hey so I love your writing so much and how you write characters a lot (they feel so alive and organic I love it) and I was wondering if you had any tips on characterizing?

Oh i did not see this until just barely so sorry for the late reply!

I love characterization so much, but as far as tips go, my best suggestion is... observation and practice, and a lot of cross-referencing with your past writing of that character, to create consistency. Having a clear understanding of their motives, their strong suits and their insecurities. I do just. So much thinking about my stories, I daydream. And I talk to people about them. for hours. it reveals things. Talk to a friend in a car for 2 hours in front of their house at 1 in the morning. You will have epiphanies.

As far as fanfiction goes, I think the best question to ask yourself is: what compels me the most about this character, or this character dynamic? and then really just get elbow deep in it. Right, how can I make these issues come to the surface?

And lastly, casual interactions are your best friend. The best way to make your writing feel grounded in reality is by... grounding it in reality? When your blorbos are seen doing sibling banter, or friendly ribbing, or whatever, your audience sees them more as real, alive, organic. And that loops back around to observation. Watch how real people interact. How you interact with your friends, ect.

I don't really know? Genuinely i just think about my stories so much like. they live rent free in my head 24/7.

“Hi there, hi, yes, uh, excuse me.” He says, and Tim changes his initial appraisal- he has the frame of a lean man, but he’s still young. Eighteen at the oldest. His hair is so white it nearly glows, and it makes his olive skin look much tanner than it reasonably is, in comparison. Tim darts out of the way- he moves through him easily, as if he's made of less than air, like a hologram, but his presence in the room is undeniable. He floats in, wrapped in a cloak made of night sky, predator-green eyes surveying the small office. “Constantine.”

I currently don't do commissions, because I have a full time job and my spare time is spent on passion projects sorry ;-; I might open them up eventually, but i'm still getting back into the feeling of loving art again and I have just so little time ever

Watching the stats go up on Better Halves is a wild time because I'm so used to my fics slowly accumulating a following as I post consistently, I remember distinctly the first time I got more than 20 comments on a chapter I was so stunned and happy, and I just assumed it would be the same for this one, but the fans from Wanted just fucking. Came after it ravenously. So.

They walk out of the main entrance to flashing lights. The boy pauses, and Danny, still being led by his necktie, runs into his shoulder. The whole gala is standing out in the snow, women in sleeveless dresses huddling, the staff scrambling to organize everyone’s coats to their tickets, the media’s cameras all trained on them, the most interesting thing of the night.
