Can we please talk about the sheer stupidity that is "characters can't be friends anymore"? (Which seems to only be applied to gay ships. Shocker.)

Like, what is the limit? The point? Can people not ship *anyone* that wasn't explicitly together in cannon? I've seen this with every ship imaginable, even cannon gay ships.

Do these people truly think that they can control the preferences of millions of people? Like, every single person has to adhere to *their* preferences when it comes to character dynamics? What is the point in complaining in comment sections of ships you clearly don't even like? I don't understand it at all.

I'm not taking a side (y'all fucking scare me) but this entire proship argument seems to have tricked people into believing they can't just...dislike a ship. They have to think of a moral reason, and if they can't, they pretend it's because they, all of a sudden, are REALLY passionate about male friendships.

I loved the Fontaine quest. I'd even say it's one of my favorites! However, my main gripe will always be Childe's trial. You're free to correct me if I'm wrong, as I kind of have a shitty memory.

(these might be a main criticism in the fandom but I don't really interact with it outside of my friends sending TikToks so sorry if this is just regurgitated LMAO)

How...old is Childe?

Like, seriously, I'm not the only one who considered him at the oldest 25, right? I believed it was a widely accepted fact (because it was heavily implied) that he was really young, but not a child.

But he was convicted as a prime suspect in a case that's been going on for 20 years? When one, he definitely hasn't been a Fatui member for 20 years so why the hell was he doing it? And two, he'd have to be like, in his late 30s to early 40s for it to make any sense. Unless we really give it the benefit of the doubt and say they thought he started as a teen (even though he would still need to be a lot older than what is implied.)

Next, why was he charged? They never specify why he was charged and sent to trial. He just was. This is the only criticism I am holding against Genshin because that's just piss poor storytelling. The rest of this stuff I can sort of let slide because it's not really the main focus of the game and people other than me probably don't care about it, lol.

I'm holding the Age Thing against Lyney's trial too. His story quest shows him and Lynette at like, 10-11 year olds 10 years ago. C'mon now.

I'm just a little frustrated because they kind of imply Neuvilette is an idiot. Why didn't he throw those cases out? You're telling me this man who's seen thousands of cases didn't take into account the age of the accused? The Traveler dumb as hell too.

Better yet, why didn't Hoyoverse just pick any other crime to charge these two with? Did it really have to be a case going on for 20 years if the two characters you want to put on trial are barely into their 20s? There had to be a smarter way! At the very least, charge them as a recent accomplice, not the entire perpetrator??? It makes zero sense.

Thanks for coming to my rant. I had a whole thing written out about how awful it would be to live in Fontaine but this post is already long enough and honestly I'm thinking too much into it.

Let's not pretend the entire thing with DSMP or Boyfriends (using those are examples because they're the ones I see the most) had *anything* to do with the problematic content/creators. At least, a mass majority of the people who claimed they cared, did not.

It was never about the offensive things Dream said or whatever weird thing that Tommy kid said. It wasn't about the "bad" poly rep (I haven't read the webtoon so I can't say anything about this,) it was never about the racism. It was because it's "cringe." That's it. They will tell it "oh no it's because they're bad people and I don't like their supporters!" And while normally I'd believe them, I don't anymore.

Considering a large (and I mean LARGE) portion of these fandoms are filled with literal children who don't know any better, it's so weird to harass them over liking media y'all deem problematic, as if you didn't like anything problematic as a kid. And I can guarantee you, you did.

Lizzo isn't really that best example but lemme put it this way, the minute she was deemed problematic and an awful person, people dogpiled on her and fat shamed her to all hell. Which was extremely inappropriate and not helping anybody.

The point is, people always wanted to do these things. People always wanted to tell DSMP fans to k*y, people always wanted to send Boyfriends fans death threats, and they always wanted to fatshame Lizzo. The list goes on and on. They just waited until it became "acceptable."

Not to do the sin of actually adding onto a post but I'm side eyeing genshin fans HARD right now. I see so many of them participate in this, even throwing their own fandom under the bus (over fans that aren't even being toxic???) just so they aren't viewed as "one of them." Maybe this is dramatic but like, it's so disheartening.

There will always be gross, disgusting fans, and I no longer blame them for any hate a fandom gets. If you put a stereotype over an interest and apply that to every fan you see, you're the idiot here. That's a YOU issue, not the fandoms.

Especially since a lot of them whine and clutch their peals over the "horrible, awful toxic fandom" and then proceed to act like the fans they complain about. I hate cringe culture so much it's genuinely rotted some people's brains.

Something I notice a lot with cringe culture is that within "cringe" fandoms there are always pick mes.

My sister is a good example. She partakes in cringe culture a lot despite being very much a stereotypical 2020 alt kid obsessed with South Park and Dangonronpa (or however it is spelled). But she makes fun of others for being "cringe," yet will simultaneously become upset when she is made fun of.

People will make fun of other people for being "cringe," but they themselves are "cringe" as well. I see it in fandom a lot and it's weird. Like, were on the same team. We all collectively are seen as weird or bad by people, why fight with one another? Why make fun of others when you yourself can be a victim of it?

You guys realize that """normal""" (for lack of a better word) people will always make fun of us and see us as weird right? No matter how much you say "Not all furries are cringe!" or things like that people will still hate you simply for being you.

Shitting on your fandom siblings is far more cringe and embarrassing than a fat person cosplaying or an autistic person stimming. You look so incredibly silly.
