Audio Drama Sunday - 30th March ✨
I got such good news this week and celebrated by listening to HOURS of Hi Nay - can you think of a better way? 🧋
🔎 @224bbaker (18) Oh my god. I listened to this episode while on a train and had to stop myself from not laughing out loud OR shedding a few tears. What absolutely incredible writing in that improv scene and the various VAs absolutely NAILED the delivery. I’m literally obsessed with how this show uses narrative foils and subverts your expectations with them at every step.
Honestly, I already love James Stallion too much, have mercy on me: “Do you know how frustrating it is to love someone who doesn’t love themselves the way you love them? It’s like being told you're an idiot for breathing air. Well, as it turns out, if I stop breathing, I’ll die, and if I stop supporting you, I’ll… “
Also: send an ambulance because I’ve been listening to Lucy Dacus’ Lost Time and thinking about Holmes and Watson. It's making me unwell.
🧋 @hinaypod (41-48) So much happened in my ear this week on Hi Nay! We burned RH, we met the Benefactor, Mari told the truth about her Nay, THE J + DOOLEY PART 2!!!!!! I tidied my entire house and weeded my friend’s garden with this in my ears and it was such a good time. I’m so excited to be caught up so I can properly appreciate all the vague-posting on social media!!
🗺 @tales-from-the-low-city (16) So cool to have all the strange occurrences from this season tie together. It’s got me wondering what other cities might be out there. I’m very much looking forwards to finding out how this huge change affects the city going forward! If you haven’t listened to this show, you’re missing out on some beautiful and thought-provoking stories!
🔮 @spiritboxradio (1.17) The burger van episode reminded me so much of the Magnus Archives in such a good way!! Sam really toes the line of being unbearably (?wilfully) naive. Who do you think is MM’s ‘bloke’?!! The person who signed off the rose as Dad? Maybe? Perhaps?
(which actually now has got me wondering if hat man is dad. oh sam, oh, yikes)
🌨️ @thewhitevault (20) What a goooood season finale!!! I finally understand how the two timelines are going to cross even if the thought fills me with fear!! The thought of the broken grípralviðr makes me so sad and I’m with Dís on the global warming theory - scorching everything is not a solution. I knew the fact that Arna was injured at a climate protest was going to be relevant but it’s so cool for that piece of the puzzle to click together!! I’m SO excited for the next season and honestly don’t want to think too hard about the fact that it’s the last!
Have a great week!! 🎧

Happy Audio Drama Sunday, here are some standouts I enjoyed!
☀️ HAVE you listened to Calling All Adventurers from @thetowerarray? Well why not?? This show is for fantasy and dnd fans and it’s delightful, funny, and something else too—as the Host recounts his adventures, you hear how unsettling it is to become a hero, how death becomes commonplace and godlike powers are no big deal. I am watching the Host’s slow characterization with interest.
👁️ Dungeons and Daddies is definitely one of my favorites, one of the few actual plays I don’t just like, I love. This episode in particular hits for me because of the direction Anthony Burch is taking Francis’ character. Francis has been a powertripping kid with a gun for so long, but confronted with the consequences of doing whatever you want in the form of his father, he is realizing he needs to have more purpose. And the form which this takes is terrifying and eldritch of course, shoutout to horror and gore, but I am fascinated to see where it goes.
🔪 Englewood After Dark has broken my heart. I’m very interested to see how this new development affects our heroes—they are both too stubborn to give up the hunt for the truth under normal circumstances, but this last blow might be enough to break at least one of them. I’m interested to see who.
🎡 Mayfair Watcher’s Society is doing a series including some old recurring favorite characters, and maybe that’s why this episode made me gasp audibly. Their usual creepy fare will get you, but this had me on the edge of my seat.
🌛Cytochrome Hear, a show that does little-known classical adaptations, posted The Man in the Moone, and I love the way they set this up as a sort of lecture, complete with context that would have been lost on me about a whimsical 17th century novel. Oliver Morris is a great choice for our narrator as well, and the amount of scholarship and skill on display through the story is stupendous. If you’re a Re: Dracula girlie, go check out Cytochrome Hear.
🫀 The second episode of @thegospelofhaven was just as gross as the first, and I am loving this exploration of like, the endpoint of a practice of glorifying a body. What if body horror was your livelihood, your god, your religion? It’s fascinating and horrid and such a good show. I love the music especially, and B. Narr and Janine Bower are killing it.
🍔 Along with the Gospel of Haven came a trailer for another new show, Fresh Meat, and I had to check that out too. I love a found footage investigation, I love fake true crime with a supernatural twist, and I love anything Daisy McNamara gets his hands on, she’s so skilled.
That’s it for me! If you feel like giving me a tip (or buying an Inn Beween sticker! I have those!) I’d be much obliged.
See you next week!

From the creator of @wakeofcorrosion comes a new dark sci-fi audio drama - Hollow Disciple.
//
In the vast abyss of dying stars lurks a forsaken vessel. Silent and still. Stumbling upon it, the scavenger crew of The Elpis think they've hit the jackpot. But when the scouting party stops responding, their luck takes a dark turn and the sinister nature of their prize becomes all too apparent.

We're adapting Frankenstein next year, and we want to cast entirely Trans VAs! All roles are paid $35/hour of recording time. No previous VA experience required! We're using this call to form a roster to cast specific characters from.
We’re looking for good audio quality without reverb or background noise. We’re also looking for grounded, authentic acting - avoid leaning too theatrical or cartoony. We don’t care about how “masculine” or “feminine” your voice sounds; the submission form will ask what genders you’re comfortable playing and we’ll cast to that. The 22 characters in Re: Frankenstein span a variety of ages, genders, and accents.
Again, we’re only looking for Trans and Nonbinary voice actors at this time. No previous voice acting experience is required. Demo reel submissions are acceptable in addition to the audition monologue, but not in lieu of.
