I was watching X-Men TAS again and got to that one episode where Charles carries Jubilee and Lady Deathstrike on his wheelchair while they are fighting the soul-eater thing and started thinking...

My favorite thing about hobbits is how no other race has any idea how they work so they can just... bullshit their way through literally anything? Bilbo turns invisible and the dwarves just go "Yeah sounds about right, Gandalf did say they're very sneaky" and don't guess about the Ring. Frodo gets stabbed by a troll spear and survives unharmed and Aragorn goes "Oh right, hobbits are supposed to be resilient, that checks out. Very impressive!" and nobody thinks to ask if he's got perhaps some kind of armor. I need to know what the line is. How weird does a hobbit need to get before they get called out??

God I'm a sucker for characters who are so utterly loyal to someone that they're completely unhinged. Characters who have no moral compass except their overwhelming devotion to whoever they've chosen to listen to. That's the good shit

A soft melody flows along the mountains of the Cloud Recesses, the airy sound of the dizi, and the deeper one of the guqin mingling in a captivating tune. Both musicians’ nimble fingers fly over their instruments, each note blending seamlessly with one another.

A smile stretches laughing lips and the melody changes, the dizi becomes playful, almost teasing. Honey eyes takes on an amused glint and the soothing notes of the guqin come to answer it.

The music flows and flows, one phrase after the other, the instruments spurring each other on, as if caught in a heady dance. Heat radiates from the musicians’ eyes as they answer each other. Two lovers playing the seducing game.

A sharp knock at the door breaks the spell and both men stop playing, looking up.

“Enter.” Comes the deep voice of the guqin player allowing the newcomer to step in. He bows respectfully, a gracious smile on his lips.

“WangJi, Wei gongzi. As skillful as you both are and as beautiful as your music is, as the sect leader, it is my duty to ask you to keep your more… intimate conversations for a more secluded area. Shufu also wanted me to remind you that inquiry is not meant to be used with such impropriety.”

A mirthful laugh answers these words and pale earlobes flush irresistibly
