i feel like i just witnessed someone plant a seed, grow a beautiful rose, and dump acid on it just when it's fully bloomed

"If this is all we get, then let's take it. I want to be fearless and free," she says giving me a look, daring me. "It's just life, Will. It'll be over before we know it".

“Don’t ever let someone tell you that you can’t do something. You got a dream, you gotta protect it. When people can’t do something themselves, they are going to tell you that you can’t do it. You want something, go get it. Period.”

You will always remain in my heart as a symbol of power.
More power to you.
This is out of the blue! I am Afghan and I am currently living in Afghanistan. Today (15 Aug 2021) the Taliban entered the capital city of Afghanistan which is Kabul. The government is going to change to an Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. They ruled in Afghanistan for 5 years, 20 years ago. I've heard stories about them since I'm 19 and luckily was not yet born. And let me tell you the stories were terrifying, but they were just horror stories to me and I never thought that I'd be living under their regime, but here we are.
Let me tell you something shocking: girls can only study up to 6th grade. The future of female students in universities hasn't been decided yet. According to what I've heard they go from house to house and ask for girls and women (12 to 45 year olds) for marriage.
As they are just pieces of crap, I don't really believe that they'd let us have mobiles or use the internet. I really hope this isn't my last post in here! But if it is I want to let the world know of what they've done and what they're doing.
Don't forget us!

A Diary of My Eulogy
Dear Diary,
Last night you roasted vegetables and baked some potatoes for her
You never spoke about her
that she was like that one abandoned house
ghosted by a language to translate love
That she eventually grew colourblind to yellow
when she found herself to be a museum,
A museum of all the lost battles with her ownself.
That her mother drew lines on the parts of her body she must cover
Her body had knitted bones of agony
ligamented under her curves
Which is why she was taught to be a woman
Like a woman woman.
But how much woman is a woman?
That she was almost 20 when she was overweight
Trying hard to fit into some ten thousand rules of the society
draped on her where she faded out
like the stain of rusty ink on a tarnished postcard
for the umpteenth time
You should have informed me that
The last time she was found dead
Was years before she was actually buried.
That on most nights, she would just inch apart
From her side of the bed
Bath in tears of poisoned patriarchy
Mixed with her ink to wait,
To wait for you to come to her in verses.
I remember her in blacks and whites,
That she liked the rain
Where she could lament along with the blues
That her favourite flowers were the Jasmines
the ones that bloom only in darkness,
The darkness she wanted to live in,
where she lives now.
I have read that two parallel lines never meet
little did I know that she joined you with the longest ‘I'
That the two ‘I's in her name stood for Inadequate,
of direct sunlight with the filter of early mist.
So tonight, amidst the blanket of darkness
I will set free a jar full of fireflies,
exactly the way she wanted to
Perhaps, she knew the only yellow
where letting go seems beautiful.
I will hold both of your hands
with some Jasmines on the top
And from within the luminescence,
Your pages will hum the lullaby of melancholy
to some of her 206 caged bones under the earth.
I will make sure not to forget an Umbrella,
For the clouds may also feel heavy.
~Aditi
