And then Dinah brings Babs back to herself and saves the day with the Power of Love. She even bought a plushie. And we once again see her equate her feelings for Babs to Dick's--"we would both die for you".

(Interestingly, the things Dinah brings say as much about her as Babs--she was missing her own Dad earlier, so she brings up Jim, she's been worried about the emotional fallout of the breakup, so she brings up Dick, etc)

But its Dinah being open about what Babs means to her and brave and determined and so very herself that does the trick most of all. Babs is stubborn and her mind is unstoppable, and once Dinah reminds her of who she is, who they are, she fights Braniac off (for now).

It truly would not have been out of place for them to kiss in that second to last panel. You can tell the artist is thinking about it. But hey, maybe they'll get some cuddling in on the couch tonight.

Anyway, peak emotional drama, this kind of stuff is catnip to me, I never get tired of someone going through hell to show their love and bring their partner back from despair or a villanous trance or whatever.
