I've been doing The Imagined Book Cover challenge of 2022, and this was my first one for the prompt: Oswald's Garden. His garden is the city and he's an avid promoter of guerrilla gardening 💪

The first in a series with characters who I feel extremely connected to. This one is from The French Dispatch. "I’m not brave. I just wasn’t in the mood to be a disappointment to everybody."

A quick watercolor experiment. I was listening to the On Being podcast and their episode with Pádraig Ó Tuama. In it, he read David Wagoner's poem, "Lost". Honestly? It was a random event for me, since I've followed that podcast but only listened to a bunch of their episodes. I stumbled upon this one, and for some reason decided it was worth the listen (it really was). This uneasy feeling of not knowing; of going blindly through life, is one that has accompanied me for as long as I can remember. Finding someone who had put it into words so beautifully was the most happenstance-ish moment of my year so far, so I was inspired to create this illustration and try–as best as my abilities could reach–to give it some justice. And now, here's the poem: Stand still. The trees ahead and bushes beside you Are not lost. Wherever you are is called Here, And you must treat it as a powerful stranger, Must ask permission to know it and be known. The forest breathes. Listen. It answers, I have made this place around you. If you leave it, you may come back again, saying Here. No two trees are the same to Raven. No two branches are the same to Wren. If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you, You are surely lost. Stand still. The forest knows Where you are. You must let it find you. -David Wagoner

Warm up from the other day. I love drawing faces, but I’m too lazy to add too much detail, so they are always a bit rushed and doodley but I like them a lot.

Hice un timbre postal conmemorando el nacimiento de La República del Corgi 😌
La inspiración fue la foto de ése corgi (que compartió We Rate Dogs).

Hogar es Gatito, Gatito es Hogar I made this illustration, which then inspired the animation (it's vertical for now because TikTok, though there's a widescreen version I haven't added audio to). I really wanted to experiment with an interior space and character design. I'm hoping to be able to extend the animation and polish it, PLUS creating more illustrations with these two. I love playing with textures and lighting. Night scenes scare me, but I really liked how this one turned out.

Y por otro lado, también hice una ilustración de Donovan Carrillo como ratoncito. Mi admiración y cariño por él es muy grande, y éste es mi pequeño homenaje para él. This is my small homage to Donovan Carrillo: the first Mexican figure skater in 30 years, and one of the few Latin American athletes at the Olympics. He has quickly become an inspiration for many, including me. A reminder to follow your dreams, however wild and scary they might be.

The most recent #transmundanetuesday prompt by Carson Ellis. A two headed, really tiny, wearing shoes (skates) with buckles. Completely inspired by the Winter Olympics and my love for them, in another life I would've LOVED to be an ice skater, but in this life I can barely stand with skates on, so I'm sticking to drawing animals figure skating 😌
