I believe that one of the biggest untapped potentials of Minecraft is the ability to create huge, oppressive, dystopian megastructures. Maybe it’s just me, but I would love to see more massive alien builds. Blocks don’t adhere to gravity there, so why not experiment with architectural styles that would not even be able to exist in the real world?
I would actually be so happy to visit a brutalist build in Minecraft.

Years behind the advancement of society; just discovered Ethel Cain. This was supposed to be a casual addition to my music taste, but I don’t think I can be casual about this now.

SHIMMER NSFW THOUGHTS (scroll if you don’t want to see)
.
.
.
.
.
People are actually sleeping on the chemstrap. Shimmer sex. We already know shimmer is used recreationally in the brothels, what’s stopping it from being used as an aphrodisiac? Lube that makes sensations extra sensitive, edible lube even? A strap that micro-doses shimmer into the wearer’s sensory neurones so that each touch on the strap gives the wearer sensations that depend on its magnitude? Even just as a stamina boost that allows people to fuck for a day or two straight?
What if shimmer could slow down your perception of time so that one could feel as if they were edged for days in the span of an hour? Shimmer as fake cum?
This is for all the Arcane smut fic writers out there that need something new to think and/or write about.

Toxic yuri except it’s two machines that were programmed to work alongside or against each other, slowly becoming entirely dependent on each other’s data set, entering an infinite loop of recycling information between the two, corrupting their learning algorithms until they eventually become a singular entity, rendered useless and forever obsolete.

ARCANE SEASON 2 EPISODE 8 SPOILERS
To me, the whole discourse on Violyn banging right after Jinx went out to commit suicide is quite reminiscent of the Orpheus and Eurydice uproar. Many people are saying: “Vi should have looked for her sister immediately” or “It was so insensitive of her to get down and dirty with Caitlyn right after all that” but I feel like people are missing the point. It’s a story.
“Vi should have looked for her sister immediately.”
Orpheus could have walked without turning, but he does, because he’s a poet and he ‘makes the poet’s choice’. Vi reaches for Caitlyn the first chance she can get because she’s a survivor, raised to think first and ask questions later, ‘enjoy the present while you still can’ type of person. We don’t know how long Vi had to wait in the cell. To her, Jinx might already be dead. The last of her family’s gone and it’s like she’s back in Stillwater, all those years ago. Then, in walks Caitlyn, a beacon of hope then, a beacon of hope now, except now she’s also the woman that Vi loves. Of course Vi is going to grab what she loves with her bare hands, inhibitions be damned. Orpheus turns, despite everything.
“Vi should have been grieving for her sister.”
She did. She punches the wall just like after the first time she thinks she loses Powder. But she’s still trapped and helpless. And after all those years Vi has probably learned that grief doesn’t take you anywhere, so when Caitlyn arrives key in hand, she makes the choice to look forward instead. She’s come so far from her self-isolation; her newfound sense of trust is who she is now. Orpheus looks back, makes his ‘poet’s choice’—the memory of her over the real Eurydice—the choice that makes him Orpheus.
“They could’ve just hugged. Cait didn’t need her Undercity ate.”
Aside from the positive sapphic representation for fans and overall media, I think this one simply requires a personal ability to see sex as more than sex. In Arcane, rarely anything is just what it is, and so is this scene. It’s a metaphor for trust and honesty, and as Overton said, a chance for Vi to take control of something in her life, and for Caitlyn to finally trust someone else with the power.
Arcane is a show about stories of characters. Not everything they do has to be palatable or straightforward or logical. Yes, we value the bond they have as sisters but Vi is more than simply an older sister. Instead of ‘they should’ve done that instead’, the question that people should be asking is ‘Why did they do that and not that?’. It’s totally fine to dislike a scene but to criticise the writing and the writers without even trying to understand why something happened is not okay.

I just know the Arcane fanfiction, especially the AUs, the Fix-Its, the Canon non-compliants and the gay sex, is going to be INSANE for the next five months.

It gives me a little something like solace to know that once Powder in the different timeline realises Ekko is not from hers, she will put two and two together and realise that the mural he painted of Vi isn’t just ‘from a dream’.

There’s probably something in there about forgiving/returning to an abuser and that’s just unsettling as a concept. I hope the connection between Taigen and Mizu never develops into a solid relationship but it’s still interesting for them to have some tension.
I'd have an easier time shipping Mizu and Taigen if they hadn't known each other as kids. Their relationship as adults is still very antagonistic—but there's no power difference that I can point out.
But as kids there definitely was one. Everytime I start warming up to the ship I'm reminded of kid!Taigen and I'm like: “nah!”
Maybe they'll do something that'll counter that. Because if we remove Taigen bullying her as a kid—their adult rivalry doesn't put me off. It's enemies to lovers and all that, I don't mind it. But it's the history, man. That bothers me and idk why.

im team #akemizu but if the show really does make use of the bisexual throuple threesome thing going on in madame kaji’s brothel, i want taigen to be the one to crawl back, to mizu pathetically, on his hands and knees, begging for dick

Blue Eye Samurai creators need to stop making the show, release the official script and call it a day. 6 eps in 3 years is embarassing. What's next? 4 eps in season 3? Just quit already. This is heartbreaking.

I know it’s been a long time, but I’m still thinking about BES.
Not hating on the show whatsoever, but it feels like the quality and dynamic of the fights…got worse? As the show progressed? Like I really enjoyed the scene where Mizu fights the students in the Shindo Dojo, as each move is thought out and creative, and it highlights the aspect of Mizu that makes her so different/skilled as a fighter: she plays dirty, she doesn’t follow rules, and she is nimble and prefers to dodge and elude rather than meet things head on, you know, like water. This is why most people see her as dishonourable, because samurai duels have strict rules and set moves.
But towards the end of the show, like the fight with the giant in Fowler’s castle, and the fight with the man himself, she lost those qualities. Instead, it felt more like she was just tearing down anything in her path. Especially when going against much larger opponents, dodging and landing fast blows would make more sense for a knowledgable fighter like her, but she just doesn’t do it. (I have a very vivid imagination of her sliding under his legs and turning around and slicing his achilles tendons or something)
This could be a stylistic choice to highlight her sheer inhuman/onryo-like desperation to kill Fowler, which I respect, but in my opinion it could have been more subtle. My main guess is that they ran out of budget and time to choreograph the remaining fight scenes because Netflix.

Yo guys
I’m writing a Arcane fic, in which i want Sevika to rise to power (I’m biased because she’s hot), and something I want her to address is the shimmer addiction problem in Zaun, because 1) Silco sold shimmer that caused sickness to earn profit, and I don’t think that would be Sevika’s style and 2) It would make sense for her to want to let Zaun be stronger and not succumb to widespread drug addiction.
However, I don’t know how she would tackle such a problem, or at least approach it if not solve it.
Currently the only idea I have is for her to leak a less harmful type of shimmer onto the market for people to discover and use, or maybe to introduce a way to recruit people and offer them rehabilitation only if they are loyal to her.
What ideas do you all have?

fascinated with jared pike’s renders of the poolrooms.
Tumblr media
Large, inviting swathes of warm sunlight reflect on the white tiles, yet we never directly see the source of light. A choice to turn away.
Emily Dickinson once wrote “Forgive me, if to stroke thy frost/Outvisions paradise!” When imagining her death with her lover, Sue. There is something so tender with love and shame when Dickinson confessed she would rather cherish a cold eternity with Sue than religious acceptance and afterlife.
Safety and escape is offered just a little to the right yet each time without fail the choice is made to look at the shadows, curious and wanting more at the risk of danger deeper within. There is just so much restraint and longing in these renders. To know there is something nicer and still stand with your back to it. To prefer the dark, to risk getting lost just for the sake of it.
To know there is something worth loving more than the absolute.
