The paramedics had arrived within minutes and thankfully the wound on your neck was just superficial and he had barely missed your carotid artery. You didn’t even have to go to the hospital unlike the suspect and Sam decided to take you back to the station while your partner went with the suspect.

After you and Sam got back, he hugged you tightly which shocked you. Thank God no one was around and watching you two cause that would be embarrassing!

You pulled him into your office and gave him a puzzled look. Considering the argument you and Sam had earlier, it was unexpected for him to be so affectionate towards you.

“What’s gotten into you Sam? I didn’t die so that wasn’t necessary.”

“I’m sorry Y/N. You were right. I was being insecure and jealous. I’m a brute after all and I don’t know what you see in me sometimes. Your partner is everything that I’m not and I know he’s married but–”
