June 20th and 23rd, 2025
Hi there! It seems like I missed fridays upload. To peel back the curtains real fast, I usually write these at my job (hence the name "TalesBehindtheDesk") I know, I know, not the best use of my time at work but I am one of those people where, I won't break my back at my job unless I feel like my job will do the same for me; and while I do like my job and my work environment, I still do not get paid enough to go above and beyond lol. So with that being said, Friday we were swamped, actually, all last week we were swamped. The beginning of summer always brings in more jobs. Aside from work, it's been pretty boring. I go home, eat, edit, play some games and workout if I have the time (which usually isn't alot). This past weekend was much of the same. We were planning on going over to my brothers again but driving an hour away and the prices of gas put a halt to that plan. Also I needed to get a video edited and out by saturday morning and that took me until saturaday afternoon before I was able to send it off to be uploaded.
The more I write these, the more I realize my life is pretty boring lol. I've always known I've lived a pretty mediocre life but I like it. There's nothing wrong with boring! Some people love a lively life where they have to go out every night or all weekend. I just like to stay in most of the time with my wife and our cat. Don't get me wrong, I love a good outing every once and while but most of the time I get super overstimulated and exhausted quickly. How do you usually live your life? I think its fun to think of people who always go out and I'm happy for them but that could not be me. Those days are behind me, i'm too old for that stuff.
This week hopefully goes by quick and painless, we get paid this week and I plan on getting myself a few cool stuff. Don't know what yet but I will update when I get my hands on said cool stuff lol. OH before I forget, My wife took me to go watch Brokeback Mountain which was back in theaters for it's 20th anniversary and man, that movie hurt to watch. Before anyone gets any funny ideas, no its not because there was a lot of sexual stuff including two men, it was emotionally draining and heartbreaking. The story and the ambiance of the movie was so good and it all around was such a great movie. Didn't expect to cry but it happened lmao. I think I was the only guy in the theater also which I found pretty funny. I highly recommend that movie if you haven't watched it!
I'll probably slow down on the daily uploads until something interesting happens! If not, it will be alot of "I edited, I played a game, I worked" lol. So whenever I get something interesting to say, I will see you then! Have a great week! Bye!!!****

June 18th and 19th 2025
Hello! I missed yesterdays post due to the influx of summer work that has come into our company and just being swamped all week. How was your day yesterday? I had a test drive planned for yesterday but it ended up storming really bad around 5ish and the drive was scheduled for 5:30 so I had to postpone that. We were on tornado watch for about 4 hours but luckily nothing made contact!
The weekend is almost upon us once again! It seems like the weekdays fly by, but at the same time they're the longest they've ever been for me. As for my plans for this weekend, We are going over to my brothers house to binge watch some movies! My wife wants to binge the 28 days later movies before we all go and watch the new 28 Years later movie. I think I only ever watched the second one but it was good nonetheless! It's been a while since i've seen a good zombie movie. I think the last good zombie movie (to me at least) that I watched in theaters was World War Z. Other than that, I plan on editing and playing again this weekend. My wife just posted her first youtube video a few days ago! It obviously didn't garner too much attention but she was happy with the small traction it did get :). I think the video turned out good, the quality tanked halfway through the video though and I still haven't found out why it did. Maybe just a bug with the software I'm using? I'm currently using Davinci Resolve to edit videos, which I learned is one of the harder programs to learn....and it was the first one I used to ever edit anything lol. I can run it pretty ok now, there's times where I still have to look stuff up but aside from that it's not too difficult anymore. My biggest issue when it comes to editing, is not knowing what to insert? like I don't like leaving long periods of the video with no sound effects or music or noise, so when I try to liven up that specific portion of the video, my mind just goes blank lol. I guess it's just a learning curve i'm going to need to hurdle.
I have to edit another video tonight so It can be ready by Saturday! She finally got around to playing Date Everything and she told me she had a lot of fun with it! Again, I don't *really* know how i'm going to edit it, whether that be with a lot of cut aways, funny moments etc. or if I should edit it like I did her last video; where, since it was a long play, I mostly just stuck to cutting the boring parts out and sticking to a more minimalistic style of editing. Again, i'm still figuring stuff out!
I've still be grinding Expedition 33 like no ones business! I was playing last night and ended up joining a discord call with a few of our friends, and I ended up streaming to them. All but one of our friends have played the game and only one of them has fully completed it. It was fun, but they had a bad tendency to back seat game which did annoy me a bit. but oh well, I know they didn't mean no harm. I also noted before in one of these posts where, I get easily sucked into rougelike games and a rogue like i've been getting back into is Pokerogue! It combines 2 of my favorite things, Pokemon and Roguelikes! I'm not going to go into too much detail of what it is, but its in the name! It's been so fun lately, whenever I don't have anything to do at work I boot up the game and play for a bit :). There's an event going on right now that centers around Pride Month and they've doubled the shiny rates for pokemon which makes me want to play even more!
I think that's all for now! Hopefully I don't forget to post tomorrow, I have a bad habit of picking stuff up and missing a day and completely forgetting it lol. Anyways, stay safe, stay healthy! Bye!!****

Good afternoon, morning, night? Whenever you read this :D. How has the week treated you so far? I know it's only Tuesday but a lot can happen in 2 days! Take me for example, I've been meaning to get a new car ever since I paid off my old 2013 Chevy, she's been good to me but now its gotten to a point where I am putting more money into her to get fixed than what she's worth. So it's time to trade in and get a better car. I've been looking around and settled on a 2024 Honda Civic Ex-L (?) I don't specifically remember the model but from what I read online, Honda Civics are pretty reliable cars! Also switching from a SUV to a Compact car was a good move since my Wife (still Fiance) isn't too comfortable with driving bigger cars, so that'll benefit her too.
I hate doing these big purchases only because I get so nervous that I will be left with a stinker car and have no money left for a replacement but I plan on haggling my ass off to make the best of the deal. It's a used car so its not *that* expensive, well compared to a new car at least. What are you experiences with buying/getting cars? This is my 4th (?) car...I think. My second ever dealership car! My SUV was from a dealership and the other 2 were hand me downs from relatives :). In other news, my Wife posted her first video today! She played the new FNAF Secret of the Mimic game! From what I saw as I was recording, it played like Security Breach but less colorful. She really enjoyed recording and is going to be recording again today! She told me she planned on recording a video on the new Otame, Otome, Oteme? Idk how to say it but a new game called "Date Everything" which she's been wanting to play. That'll be fun to watch :). She primarily wanted to start youtube because she loved making videos since she was younger, and she's always wanted to share her quirky nature with other people! She doesn't really care about monetary value in her videos, mostly just the love of gaming hehe.
This is a pretty short update as I don't have much to talk about at the moment! Hopefully you stay safe and healthy! Enjoy the sun :)
Bye!!****

Good afternoon! How was your weekend? Mine was pretty quiet for the most part :). I didn't post during the weekend, mainly because I try to be away from social media/screens as a whole during the weekend as I am usually always in front of a screen and on social media throughout the week. Now with that being said.... I was on my computer all weekend lol... To be fair, I was editing most of the weekend! But I did end up playing some games as well! Currently the games I'm mostly on is Call of Duty Black Ops 6 and Expedition 33. COD has always been like a fun game to mindlessly play and grind when I got nothing else to do. I'm currently 10th prestige and 3? 2? more guns away from finally being able to grind for dark matter! For all my cod players out there lol. As for Expedition 33, I finally picked it back up after a month of starting it and never continuing lol. I forgot how beautiful it was and the music, omfg its so freaking good. As far as that goes, that's all i've been playing. I have a bad habit of downloading games, playing it for an hour, and then dropping it. I have RDR2 downloaded and never finished it (tbf I have already played it and this is just a replay. Justice for my boy Arthur!) I think it's due to my attention span being really bad, I just like to run and gun, or if I get into a rogue like game I get sucked into that as well. I was hooked on Balatro for like a month before I stopped playing it. Now i'm getting an itch to play Elden Ring again! I've played it countless times, even modded but my PC has fallen from grace and now it runs that game pretty okish. Hopefully my Wife's youtube career takes off and I can get a new PC. jk.....maybe.
I still might end up getting a PC by the end of the year who knows, I do need a better one if I want to be able to edit alot faster and smoother. Any games you've been binging/replaying? Because I have xbox game pass I have a wide array of games that I can play, and so many new games I can play day 1. Outer wilds 2 seems so fun and I can't wait to play that, although I still need to finish the first game. There's a new Fable in the works! I was a huge fan of the 1st one! One of my first fantasy RPG games i remember playing :). A new Witcher game which is exciting! and Call of Duty Black Ops 7 which also cool! I still have yet to play Elden Ring NightRein but thats because all of my friends who play it are on PC and my PC will not run that game lol. So for now I've just been watching gameplay. I could get it on console but playing alone/with randoms isn't really my forte. There's too many games coming out and not enough time. Maybe I'll start streaming, and hoepfully that can take off so I can just play games for a living! Seems fun in retrospect but I feel like the second it starts feeling like a job, I will hate it :P.
Hopefully the weekend treated you well! Have a great Monday and lets have a good week :D
Bye!!*****

Friday June 13th 2025
Happy Friday the 13th! In all seriousness, thank the lord its Friday. I can go home and nap all day without feeling guilty about wasting away my day. Do you have any plans for the weekend? We did have plans to go out, maybe go swimming, go to the zoo or there's a circus in town, but its supposed to rain heavy all weekend! Bummer. Also, it's Father's Day this Sunday and I have no Idea what to get my dad. My dad has always been the type of person who always says "I don't know" when asked what he would like as a gift. I usually always rotate between clothes, shoes, or some little trinket that I think he'd like. This year though, I have no Idea what to do. I also don't even know if he wants to celebrate it. He usually works a lot and doesn't have time for stuff like that unless its a big event or whatnot. I think i'll just call him and talk to him for a few, he always seems to perk up whenever I call/visit. I would visit but my parents live nearly 2 hours away. I know some people would kill to have their parents that close but when you're that close and visit nearly every weekend, you want to just stay in one weekend. If they plan on going out to eat or if my mom lets me know that they're planning something for him, i'll show up, but knowing him, he'll probably sleep all day like me XD. I do love my dad though, he's my hero. Since I was a kid he's always been someone that I wanted to be when I grew up, kind, hard working, but yet still finds time to be there for his family when he can. If you could not tell by now (don't worry if you didn't, im a little vague when it comes to stuff like this) but we are Latino. My dad came to the US when I was just a baby and since then, he's been working his ass off to provide for his family. I can't thank him enough for giving me the life I have and for giving me the opportunities he never got as a kid. Love him to death.
How are your guys' relationships with your dads like? I know fatherhood is a touchy subject when it comes to some people and I don't blame others for hating anything father related due to negligent parenting. Maybe some of you reading this are fathers yourselves! How is fatherhood? I've always wanted to have kids, boy or girl it don't matter, I just want to be able to mentor and raise someone that can potentially better the world or the space around them. It's not like we can't have kids, it's just, in this economy, having a child is more of burden right now then anything else. Plus, we're young still, we got time before we can hunker down and start a family. Although even though it might be tough, we have toyed with the idea of just saying F it and having a kid haha. But alas, we must be responsible first. We want to get a house before anything, even if its renting a house thats fine by us. We don't plan on staying in Indiana forever, we want to either travel or move to a Mountainous region. Do you have any goals like that? I've always dreamed of having a huge ranch with cows and horses and chickens etc. I also always wanted to have a large plot of land so I could adopt as many animals from nearby shelters as I can. It seems far fetched but thats what catches my eye :).
In other news, I resisted the urge to splurge on payday yesterday, crazy right? I do still plan on getting myself a little something but that something is still unknown. Usually I always go for pokemon cards since I may or may not have a small gambling addiction, but with the recent surge in pokemon popularity, it's nearly impossible to find any new sets or any good ones at that, for MSRP and I am not paying $150 for a $40 item >:(. Aside from that, life has been pretty minimal (i mean, as minimal as it can be in regards to the current state of the world) I think I plan on working out this weekend, probably not tonight, my start of weekend tradition consists of, going home, plopping down on my couch and falling asleep lol. I don't see that changing anytime soon. Other than that, I might just end up gaming this weekend, it'll be the first weekend in a bit where I don't have major plans (or so I think) so it'll be a good time to start working on my gaming backlog, maybe finally pick back up Expedition 33. Hopefully the weekend treats you well, whether that be inside or out, stay safe and have fun!! Bye!*****

Thursday June 12th, 2025
Another day, another nickel! Today is payday and just like that it's gone, reduced to atoms. I'm only semi joking, it's really jarring how the world goes to shit the second I become a functional adult. Ok maybe not the exact *second* but I mean, I only got....what..2 years of adulthood before everything went to hell? I graduated high school in 2018 and subsequently dropped out of college the year after and after that, covid happened. Working in a sweaty warehouse I guess made me an "essential worker" so there was that, and than a year or two after that, I moved out of my parents house with my, then girlfriend (now fiance), and from there I had like a good year and a half of being a functional adult before the election last year and inflation and war and politics etc. Now I live with perpetual anxiety and take meds for it :D. Aside from that life is alright, I have my gripes here and there, mainly with my diet and health but I can't really complain when there are people far worse off than I am. Also before I get into the next topic, does anyone else get like super random bursts of motivation/creativity and it goes away just like that? Like for example, I'll be at work and start making plans like clean the bathroom, do laundry, work out, tidy up my office space etc. and the second I get home, I just want to go to sleep. My therapist suggested it could be a slight form of depression or ADHD or a combo of both, idk I need to get tested for stuff like that but the wait list for stuff like that is so long >.<.
I hope anyone who reads these are doing well! or at least doing well enough to pass! Back to payday, usually I am good with my money as in, I don't try and spend it all before the next pay cycle, but with the way things are going as of right now, its hard not to treat yourself or someone every once and awhile. So now I have this feeling every time I get paid of "Ooooh what shiny useless things should I waste my money on this time?" Usually it's a game that collects dust in my enormous backlog of games or cards or some fancy new gadget. Last pay period I splurged a bit and got myself an apple watch, now I'm not a maniac, I still am frugal when it comes to buying things. I got an older model (?) I think? I'm not too certain which models are current or older, but its an Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen) and I got it at my local used electronic store for $100 which wasn't too bad! I want to save up and get a better PC so that editing videos doesn't make force my PC to blow up every time I try and edit. Fiance got a spiffy new PC a few months ago and that thing is a beast makes me jealous but also happy to see her enjoying it :3.
Onto current topics I have been keeping up with. ICE raids in LA are ramping up, as are the protests. Military getting sent to LA kinda defeats the purpose of free speech no? I mean I understand the looting and stuff is wrong, but when you have people getting kidnapped in unmarked trucks and masked people it makes sense why people are so upset. If our immigration system wasn't so screwed up maybe there would be more legal pathways to citizenship and so many families wouldn't have to be scared for their loved ones and worrying if they would return home or not. Sabrina Carpenter is set to release a new album in next few months and it's titled "Man's Best Friend". It seems like it's already garnered a bit of online discourse due to the album cover. The cover depicts Sabrina on all fours while a man is holding her hair up as in the tune of a leash. Many people are upset as the way she is portraying herself is very shameful and is setting women back due to the nature of the picture. I can understand the hate, although as a man I really feel like I don't have a say on how women should represent themselves. I usually leave that up to my Fiance lol, if you want to push the narrative that you are a man's "plaything" I suppose you do you. Lastly, though I'm not a super big sports fan, the Pacers beat the thunder to up the score to 2-1. As a native Indiana resident (i know this place sucks lol) I am glad to see my team be in the finals. Whether the Pacers go all the way or not i'm just happy to see them play :).
I think that is all for today's episode of "stupid shit that runs through my mind constantly" idk i'll find a good name for these posts, I just like to post what runs through my brain and I hope you do too! Anyways, I hope the rest of the week treats you well and make sure to get some sun every once and a while, it helps :) (Coming from someone who is in an office 10 hours a day)
Bye!****

Pokemon
As I stated in my last post, I am a huge nerd when it comes to all things games. Nintendo, Xbox, Playstation, PC you name it, i've played it. I was born in the ripe era of the 2000s and my first ever gaming console was a gameboy color that I think I bummed off of one of my cousins after he got a spiffy new gameboy advanced. That's where I fell in love with a little niche game called....Pokemon! well, not so niche now, but back then it was lol. My first ever pokemon game was Crystal and to this very day, I love that game dearly, even with all its janky level curves and dumb pokemon locked behind post game areas. That set in stone my unhealthy obsession with the beloved franchise. Since then, I have played every game up to the newest Scarlet and Violet. Now for me the pokemon franchise peaked during the ORAS era (Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire) those games were a perfect combination of faithful remasters and new and exciting remakes. It was also the era of mega evolution, by far the best mechanic the pokemon franchise has put out. Sadly tho, the games after have come up short in terms of mechanics and story. You could say "oh but the games are designed for kids, you're a full grown man" and to that I say...touché. I have been a bit more lenient the older I get when it comes to the more recent games. Remember when "Dexit" happened? Yea I didn't care too much about it, I was just wanting to make a cool team of new pokemon when SWSH came out. Scarlett and Violet are a bit different tho in a sense where I was more critical about these games than the previous ones. The fact that they ran so poorly on the switch and even switch oled really killed the game for me. I mean who doesn't want to play a game that runs at 15 fps max?? The recent announcement of the Switch 2 and the subsequent release of the "enhanced" version of those games that will run at 60 fps kinda bummed me out to. Just knowing that there is a better, playable version of a $60 ($120 if you bought both) game that is locked behind a $500 console is very gross to me. That's Nintendo for ya I suppose. The game does look beautiful tho from what I've seen, but it doesn't warrant me paying my first born child for a console tho. I don't want this to become a hate rant on nintendo (which is very well deserved) but thats my stance on pokemon as a whole, I didn't go into much detail actually now that I read this back but oh well thats how my brain works XD. I can answer some questions about this topic if anyone asks (doubt this gets any views) but yea :).

Wednesday, June 5th 2025
Hi, I am doing a daily blog as a 25 yr old guy with too much free time on his hands lol. I was (and still am) sitting at my little desk job just wasting away wondering how I can somehow make a digital footprint that is worthwhile and hopefully makes someone's day :). Kinda weird to start it in the middle of the week tho lol.
Idk I get these ups and downs of creativity which i've usually missed on. Like when I was in highschool I would have a huge urge to do something creative, whether that be draw, content creation, etc but I was also too lazy or I would procrastinate until the feeling went away. As you could probably tell, I was the glowing definition of regular. I want to change that. These feelings of creativity has led me to start drawing, reading, plotting etc. Maybe in the future when I get more comfortable with blogging and uploading daily I will show my progress in drawing (I do warn any artists, I am horrendous at drawing). All of the family creativity fell onto my brother, more on him in another story. But I have started to learn how to draw, i'm starting on hands and anatomy just because I am stubborn and my Fiance, who is leagues better at drawing then me, sucks at drawing hands so I want to have that one up on her hehe.
Speaking of my Fiance, she recently started making content for Youtube! She's been wanting to start content creation since she was younger but now that I've been pushing her to follow her dreams, she has really put the peddle to the metal. I lent her my (no so great) editing skills so she can primarily focus on pumping out content and not having to worry about the editing process. Her debut should be next week :). Also as i'm currently writing this, I keep seeing my name in the top of the screen and kinda cringing at the name lol! I'm a huge game nerd and one of my favorite series is the souls games.
As for my goal for this blog, idk I just want a creative outlet that is not drawing or editing. I want to get my thoughts out into the void that is the internet and see if something sticks, will I make something of it? Probably not. Do I plan on monetizing anything? Again, no. I guess my goal is to maybe make someone go like "Ah thats so relatable!" Grow a community I suppose? its tempting but also I am such an introvert, I don't have many friends besides my Fiance. I have a small group of IRL friends and online friends but that's about it. I find it very draining to grow a community, or even be a part of one, but the idea is fun. Who knows, it is just day 1 after all :D. I also don't plan on just posting once a day, who knows maybe I'll post 2, 3 or 5 times a day depending on how much I like blogging or if I just have some stuff to get off my chest/mind.
Maybe this is a good stopping point? I still am at work lol and it's almost lunch time! Hopefully whoever reads this has a good day and they stay safe and healthy, the current state of the world is rough and scary, but being a part of a safe community makes everything better.
Bye!***
