I like when people give me names. Not in a pet-like “mr nibbles is such a good boy!!” way, but in a “that abhorrent fucking monster? We call it John, just to make it feel a little less scary” way.

Humans name non-humans to feel just slightly more in control of them. Some creatures treat it as an honor, some endure it as a mark of respect, and I myself am among those who allow it out of endearment towards the human race.

OKAY NONHUMAN QUESTION TIME - do any of y'all ever wish that others would name you instead of choosing your own name? There seems something inherently human in choosing a name to me; I've always wanted to have my name selected by other people as if I was an animal who would not consider that itself. Not even in a dog way; wild animals too receive names from humans, though of course domestic animals come immediately to mind.

Any other alterhumans wish that humans would give them names?

What love is for me - a person with aspd

Keep in mind that its only my experience and i dont speak for other people with aspd.

I don't feel love on emotional level, i see love more as a set of conditions if it makes sense. I know that i love someone when:

1. i truly care about their well-being

2. I would be sad if they died or something really bad happen to them

3. I would do (almost) anything for them

I also cant experience romantic love. I can experience affection and romantic attraction towards someone but not love.

Trying to convince my partner that we are in fact codependent and we both need to take a step back and create lives outside of each other… I don’t think they took it the best unfortunately.

I love them more than I’ve ever loved anything. In some ways, I even love the codependency, because it’s so addicting to have someone just as devoted to you as you are to them. But it’s making us both depressed, it’s making some of my alters more antagonistic towards them, and it’s making it hard for either of us to function.

They don’t know how to exist without me on the other end of the phone 24/7, and I don’t know how to do that very well either. I know eventually one of us (likely my system) will have some kind of breakdown or episode and try to foster codependency again just to feel wanted / needed, or to regain some “control” over things. I dread that happening again.

Sometimes it sucks being “so in love it hurts” because having to set or accept new, healthy boundaries hurts even more.
